What is Mining Gadgets?
Same as in the All the Mods - Gravitas 4.0 guide
Mining Gadgets is included in this pack at version 1.11.1. That is the version you'll be playing with.[1]
I can only confirm that the mod is installed. The pack's sources don't say what it does in this pack, who it's meant for, or where it fits in progression, so I'm not going to guess at any of that.[1]
Unverified No quests, ATM Star path entries, recipe changes or config changes for Mining Gadgets could be confirmed from the available sources. Check in-game, for example in the recipe viewer, before relying on any specific behavior. This site does hold All the Mods 10's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
How do you get started with Mining Gadgets?
4 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 0.60 guide
Mining Gadgets is built around one handheld tool and a pile of upgrade modules. Almost everything starts from a single crafting component, so the order below keeps you from crafting things you can't use yet.[2]
Step 1: Make a Blank Upgrade Module
The Blank Upgrade Module is an ingredient in the gadget, the Modification Table and every first-tier upgrade in this pack. Higher tiers then build on the previous tier. Make a few modules before you do anything else.[2]

Step 2: Craft your first Mining Gadget
The gadget comes in three versions: Mining Gadget MK1, Mining Gadget MK2 and Mining Gadget MK3. Each has its own recipe, and the blank module is one of the ingredients in each. The MK1 is a good place to start.[2]

Once you hold one, hover over it. The tooltip shows a per-block cost, and holding shift lists the upgrades installed on it.[3]
Unverified The recipe data lists the same ingredient types for the MK1, MK2 and MK3. The sources don't say how the three versions differ in stats or features, so this guide doesn't claim anything about that.
Step 3: Build the Modification Table
The Modification Table is crafted from a blank module plus a couple of common materials. The mod's upgrade screen text tells you to shift-click upgrades in from your inventory slots, or to drop an upgrade onto the screen, and clicking an installed upgrade removes it.[2][3]

Unverified The sources don't spell out which block or screen that interface text belongs to, so treat the link between the Modification Table and the install and remove behavior as unconfirmed.
Step 4: Pick your first upgrades
Upgrade: Efficiency, Tier 1, Upgrade: Battery, Tier 1 and Upgrade: Magnet are all crafted straight from a blank module with no earlier tier needed, which makes them easy first upgrades. Efficiency and Battery then continue into higher tiers that each build on the one before.[2]

How does Mining Gadgets work?
5 parts
Mining Gadgets centres on the gadget you hold, the power it stores, and the upgrades you slot into it at the Modification Table. This section covers how power is spent, what each upgrade costs, and how the table works, as far as the pack's files show.[3][4]
Power: how the gadget spends it
The gadget runs on stored power, and every block it breaks costs some. In this pack the base cost is 200 per block, set by power.mining_gadget.baseCost. The gadget's own storage is capped at 1,000,000 by power.mining_gadget.maxPower.[4]
The gadget's tooltip shows a "Per Block Cost" line, and holding shift on it lists the upgrades installed. That's a handy way to check what you're paying per block after you change your setup.[3]
Battery upgrades
Battery upgrades raise how much power the gadget can hold. In this pack the three tiers give these capacity boosts:[4]
- Upgrade: Battery, Tier 1: 2,000,000, set by power.upgrades.battery1.[3][4]
- Upgrade: Battery, Tier 2: 5,000,000, set by power.upgrades.battery2.[3][4]
- Upgrade: Battery, Tier 3: 10,000,000, set by power.upgrades.battery3.[3][4]
The recipes for tiers 2 and 3 each take the previous tier's upgrade, so you build the chain one step at a time.[5]
Per-block upgrade costs
The other upgrades each have their own cost value in the config. All of these are the values in this pack's config file:[4]
- Upgrade: Efficiency, Tier 1 costs 10 per block (power.upgrades.upgradeEfficiency1).[3][4]
- Upgrade: Efficiency, Tier 2 costs 20 per block (power.upgrades.upgradeEfficiency2).[3][4]
- Upgrade: Efficiency, Tier 3 costs 30 per block (power.upgrades.upgradeEfficiency3).[3][4]
- Upgrade: Efficiency, Tier 4 costs 40 per block (power.upgrades.upgradeEfficiency4).[3][4]
- Upgrade: Efficiency, Tier 5 costs 50 per block (power.upgrades.upgradeEfficiency5).[3][4]
- Fortune tier 1 costs 30 per block (power.upgrades.upgradeFortune1).[4]
- Fortune tier 2 costs 60 per block (power.upgrades.upgradeFortune2).[4]
- Fortune tier 3 costs 100 per block (power.upgrades.upgradeFortune3).[4]
- The Freezing upgrade costs 100 per block frozen (power.upgrades.upgradeFreeze).[4]
- The Light Placer costs 100 per light block placed (power.upgrades.upgradeLight).[4]
- The Magnet upgrade costs 25 per block (power.upgrades.upgradeMagnet).[4]
- The Silk Touch upgrade costs 100 per block (power.upgrades.upgradeSilkCost).[4]
The Void Junk upgrade costs 10 per block (power.upgrades.upgradeVoid).[4]
The Modification Table
Upgrades are installed through the Modification Table. Its screen tells you to shift click to insert upgrades from your inventory slots, or to drop an upgrade onto the screen. To take an upgrade back out, you click it.[3]

Some upgrades have settings on that screen. The Freezing upgrade has a delay control for how often a freeze particle is spawned. By default it is one particle every tick, and adding more delay reduces the particle count. There is also a Precision Mode value shown on the screen.[3]
Crafting the gadget and its upgrades
The gadget comes in three tiers: Mining Gadget MK1 (MK1), Mining Gadget MK2 (MK2) and Mining Gadget MK3 (MK3). Their recipes are shown below, along with the Blank Upgrade Module.[3][5]

Efficiency upgrades also form a chain. Tier 1 is made from a blank module, and each tier after that takes the previous efficiency upgrade, up to Upgrade: Efficiency, Tier 5.[5]

How do you progress through Mining Gadgets?
6 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 0.60 guide
Mining Gadgets progression in this pack is all about crafting. The mod has no quests here, so nothing is gated behind a quest. You move forward by crafting the gadget, then stacking upgrades onto it. Every upgrade starts from a Blank Upgrade Module, so that's the first thing to make.[2]
Getting started
The Blank Upgrade Module is the base for the upgrades and for the gadgets themselves. It's a mod recipe, so it works the way the mod's author intended.[2]

Upgrade tiers
Most upgrades come in tiers, and each tier is crafted from the previous one. You can't skip ahead: Efficiency goes from Tier 1 to Tier 5, while Battery, Fortune and Range each go from Tier 1 to Tier 3. Size has three steps: 3x3, 5x5 and 7x7.[2]
- Efficiency: Upgrade: Efficiency, Tier 1 through Upgrade: Efficiency, Tier 5. These are unchanged mod recipes.[2]
- Battery: Upgrade: Battery, Tier 1 through Upgrade: Battery, Tier 3. These are also unchanged mod recipes.[2]
- Fortune: Upgrade: Fortune, Tier 1 through Upgrade: Fortune, Tier 3. The pack changed these recipes.[2]
- Range: Upgrade: Range, Tier 1 through Upgrade: Range, Tier 3. The pack changed these recipes too.[2]
- Size: Upgrade: 3x3, Upgrade: 5x5 and Upgrade: 7x7. The pack changed all three.[2]

Unverified What each upgrade does in numbers (mining speed, energy capacity, range values), and how the MK1, MK2 and MK3 gadgets differ in stats, can't be confirmed from the available data. This guide also has no quest data for the mod, so a quest-driven order isn't covered.
Which Mining Gadgets config options matter?
3 parts
Same as in the All the Mods - Gravitas 4.0 guide
Every Mining Gadgets option you'll care about lives in power.mining_gadget.baseCost's file, config/mininggadgets-common.toml, and they all deal with power. Each value is a cost per block or a capacity, and every one must be greater than 0. Here is exactly how this pack sets them.[6]
The gadget itself
- power.mining_gadget.baseCost is the base power cost per block broken, set to 200 in this pack.[6]
- power.mining_gadget.maxPower is the gadget's maximum power, set to 1,000,000 in this pack.[6]
Battery upgrades
The three battery upgrades add to the gadget's capacity. Battery 1 adds 2,000,000 (power.upgrades.battery1), Battery 2 adds 5,000,000 (power.upgrades.battery2), and Battery 3 adds 10,000,000 (power.upgrades.battery3).[6]
Upgrade costs per block
Most other upgrades charge extra power for every block you mine. These are the values this pack uses.[6]
- Efficiency 1 to 5 cost 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 per block (power.upgrades.upgradeEfficiency1, power.upgrades.upgradeEfficiency2, power.upgrades.upgradeEfficiency3, power.upgrades.upgradeEfficiency4, power.upgrades.upgradeEfficiency5).[6]
- Fortune 1 to 3 cost 30, 60 and 100 per block (power.upgrades.upgradeFortune1, power.upgrades.upgradeFortune2, power.upgrades.upgradeFortune3).[6]
- Silk Touch costs 100 per block (power.upgrades.upgradeSilkCost).[6]
- Magnet costs 25 per block (power.upgrades.upgradeMagnet).[6]
- Void Junk costs 10 per block (power.upgrades.upgradeVoid).[6]
- Freeze costs 100 per block frozen (power.upgrades.upgradeFreeze).[6]
- Light costs 100 per light block placed (power.upgrades.upgradeLight).[6]
Unverified The pack's config file doesn't show the mod's default values, so I can't tell you which of these numbers the pack changed from the default. Treat the values above as what this pack uses, and don't assume they match a standalone install of the mod.
