What is Mining Gadgets?
Same as in the All the Mods - Gravitas 4.0 guide
Mining Gadgets is included in this pack at version 1.11.1. That is the version you'll be playing with.[1]
I can only confirm that the mod is installed. The pack's sources don't say what it does in this pack, who it's meant for, or where it fits in progression, so I'm not going to guess at any of that.[1]
Unverified No quests, ATM Star path entries, recipe changes or config changes for Mining Gadgets could be confirmed from the available sources. Check in-game, for example in the recipe viewer, before relying on any specific behavior. This site does hold All the Mods 10's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
How do you get started with Mining Gadgets?
4 parts
Mining Gadgets is a small mod built around one tool and a stack of upgrades. In this pack the crafting order is simple, because almost everything leads back to one item: the Blank Upgrade Module.[2]
Step 1: the Blank Upgrade Module
Make this first. The gadget, the Modification Table and the first tier of the upgrades all use it as an ingredient, so it is worth crafting a few.[2]

Step 2: your Mining Gadget
Next comes the tool itself. The pack has three versions: Mining Gadget MK1, Mining Gadget MK2 and Mining Gadget MK3. Start with the MK1 below.[2]

Unverified How the three gadget tiers differ in mining speed, energy capacity or any other stat is not confirmed by the available sources.
Step 3: the Modification Table
The Modification Table is where you fit upgrades to your gadget. It also uses a Blank Upgrade Module, so you can craft it right after the gadget.[2]

Inside the table's screen you can shift-click an upgrade from your inventory slots to insert it, or drop the upgrade onto the screen. Click an installed upgrade to remove it again.[3]
Step 4: your first upgrades
Upgrades start from the blank module. Tiered upgrades such as Efficiency, Battery, Fortune and Range build on each other, so you make tier 1 first and work up. Good ones to start with are Upgrade: Efficiency, Tier 1, Upgrade: Battery, Tier 1 and Upgrade: Magnet.[2]

Unverified What exactly each upgrade changes in play, and how the gadget is charged, is not confirmed by the sources available for this pack. No quests in this pack cover the mod.
How does Mining Gadgets work?
4 parts
The sources for this pack only explain a small part of how Mining Gadgets works, so this section is short. It covers what is confirmed: the upgrade workflow at the Modification Table and how the upgrade tiers chain together.[2][3]
Installing and removing upgrades
Upgrades go onto the gadget through the Modification Table. The screen tells you how to add one: shift-click it from your inventory slots, or drop it onto the screen. To take an upgrade back out, click it.[2][3]
The gadget's tooltip shows a per-block cost. Hold shift on the tooltip to show the upgrades.[3]

The gadget tiers
The gadget comes as Mining Gadget MK1, Mining Gadget MK2 and Mining Gadget MK3. Their recipes in this pack are shown below.[2]

Upgrade tiers build on each other
Several upgrades come in numbered tiers. Battery runs from Upgrade: Battery, Tier 1 to Upgrade: Battery, Tier 3. Efficiency runs from Upgrade: Efficiency, Tier 1 to Upgrade: Efficiency, Tier 5. Fortune runs from Upgrade: Fortune, Tier 1 to Upgrade: Fortune, Tier 3. Range runs from Upgrade: Range, Tier 1 to Upgrade: Range, Tier 3.[2]

Fortune Tier 2 uses Tier 1 as an ingredient, so you can't skip ahead. The other tiered upgrades chain the same way.
The other upgrades in the pack's recipes are Upgrade: 3x3, Upgrade: Silk touch, Upgrade: Magnet, Upgrade: Light Placer and Upgrade: Freezing. Every upgrade starts from the blank module below, which is also the base of the tiered chains.[2]

Freezing upgrade particles
The Upgrade: Freezing upgrade has a delay setting on its screen. It controls how often a freeze particle is spawned. By default that is one particle every tick, and adding delay reduces the number of particles.[2][3]

Unverified The sources don't confirm how the gadget stores or uses power, the actual per-block cost values, what each Battery or Efficiency tier changes numerically, or what Precision Mode does (the screen shows a Precision Mode value, but its effect isn't explained). Range and 3x3 mining behavior and the differences between the MK1, MK2 and MK3 gadgets are also unconfirmed. There are no config files for this mod in the pack, so don't assume any default values.
How do you progress through Mining Gadgets?
4 parts
Mining Gadgets has no quest line in this pack, so your progression is driven entirely by crafting. Everything starts with the Blank Upgrade Module. The gadgets, the table and almost every upgrade are built on top of it.[2]
Unverified No quests in this pack are known to involve this mod, and it is not on the ATM Star quest path. Don't expect the quest book to guide you through these items.
Step 1: the basics

Step 2: pick your gadget tier
There are three gadgets: Mining Gadget MK1, Mining Gadget MK2 and Mining Gadget MK3. Each one has its own crafting recipe, and none of them is crafted from the previous gadget. The recipe dump lists the same set of ingredient types for all three, so check the exact layouts below.[2]

Unverified What actually separates MK1, MK2 and MK3 in this pack (energy capacity, mining speed, upgrade slots) is not confirmed by the available sources.
Step 3: upgrade chains
Several upgrades come in tiers, and each tier is crafted from the previous one. That means you can't skip ahead, and you keep the lower-tier upgrade as a stepping stone.[2]
- Efficiency has five tiers, from Upgrade: Efficiency, Tier 1 up to Upgrade: Efficiency, Tier 5.[2]
- Battery has three tiers, from Upgrade: Battery, Tier 1 up to Upgrade: Battery, Tier 3.[2]
- Fortune has three tiers, from Upgrade: Fortune, Tier 1 up to Upgrade: Fortune, Tier 3.[2]
- Range has three tiers, from Upgrade: Range, Tier 1 up to Upgrade: Range, Tier 3.[2]
- Size goes Upgrade: 3x3, then Upgrade: 5x5, then Upgrade: 7x7. Each step is crafted from the one before.[2]

Standalone upgrades
Some upgrades have no tiers. Upgrade: Magnet, Upgrade: Freezing, Upgrade: Light Placer, Upgrade: Silk touch and Upgrade: Void Junk are each crafted straight from a Blank Upgrade Module plus their own extra materials, with no earlier upgrade needed.[2]
Unverified How upgrades are installed (including whether the Modification Table is required) and what each tier does numerically are not confirmed by the available sources.
