What is Mekanism:More Machine?

2 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide

Mekanism:More Machine is an add-on that adds more machines and factories to Mekanism. This pack includes version 1.4.1.[1][2]

What it adds

  • Recycler: destroys most useless items or blocks to produce scrap. The project page says dirt and stones were added by default, so you don't accidentally throw important things in. Scrap is the base item for making UU matter.[1]
  • Planting Station: consumes nutrient solution to produce crops. The project page says it is compatible with most things that can be grown in vanilla and fully compatible with Mystical Agriculture.[1]
  • Replicator: uses UU matter to replicate items. By default it has no recipe.[1]
  • Stamper, Lathe and Rolling Mill: general-purpose machines. According to the project page, only the Stamper currently links to Immersive Engineering, AE2 and their accessories.[1]
  • Advanced factories: factory versions of slow machines such as the chemical oxidizer, including an oxidizing factory and a dissolving factory. Their multiple threads can greatly improve production efficiency.[1]

Things to know before you build

The Replicator has no recipe by default, and the project page says you need to add the ones you want in the configuration file. For the Lathe and Rolling Mill, the project page says there are no suitable recipes yet, that some may be added in the future, and that you can add recipes yourself if you want to use them.[1]

The mod is not compatible with KubeJS or CraftTweaker. To add your own recipes you need the most primitive methods, such as KubeJS's custom recipe type. The mod's GitHub wiki documents the JSON format for each machine. The advanced factories also don't work with ComputerCraft yet, so you can't precisely control individual slots or tanks that way.[1]

Unverified The sources I was given don't show any quests involving this mod or a place for it on the ATM Star path. They also don't show whether the pack changes any of the mod's defaults, such as adding Replicator recipes, so check in game with JEI and the config folder. This site does hold All the Mods 10's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.

How do you get started with Mekanism:More Machine?

4 parts

This mod adds more machines and factories to Mekanism. The easiest place to start is with factory versions of Mekanism machines you already use, such as the Chemical Oxidizer. After that, the CNC Stamper is a solid next pick. Here's the order I'd go in.[1][3]

Step 1: Turn a slow machine into a factory

Machines like the Chemical Oxidizer are fairly slow. This mod gives them factory versions that run on multiple threads, which can greatly boost your production. Pick the machine that's holding your setup back and make its Basic factory first.[1]

Each Basic factory in this pack is crafted from the single machine it replaces, so you need that machine before you can make its factory. This covers the Basic Oxidizing Factory, Basic Dissolving Factory, Basic Washing Factory, Basic Crystallizing Factory, mekmm:basic_chemical_infusing_factory, Basic Centrifuging Factory and Basic Pressurised Reacting Factory.[3]

Step 2: Build a CNC Stamper

The CNC Stamper is a machine that uses molds to process items. Right now it's the only one of the general-purpose machines with recipes linking it to Immersive Engineering, AE2 and their addons, which makes it the one worth building first.[1][4]

Step 3: Upgrade your factories through the tiers

Every factory comes in Basic, Advanced, Elite and Ultimate tiers, and each tier is crafted from the one below it. Here's the path using the oxidizing line as an example.[3]

  1. Upgrade the Basic Oxidizing Factory into the Advanced Oxidizing Factory.[3]
  2. Upgrade the Advanced Oxidizing Factory into the Elite Oxidizing Factory.[3]
  3. Upgrade the Elite Oxidizing Factory into the Ultimate Oxidizing Factory.[3]

Watch out: If you like automating with ComputerCraft, be aware that these factories aren't compatible with it yet. That makes it hard to control each slot or tank precisely from a computer.[1]

Looking ahead: nutrient solution

The Planting Station grows crops by consuming nutrient solution. It works with most vanilla growables and is fully compatible with Mystical Agriculture. In this pack, nutrient solution comes from dissolution recipes, so it's worth getting that line going early.[1][3]

Unverified I couldn't confirm how to craft the Recycler, Planting Station, Replicator, CNC Lathe or CNC Rolling Mill in this pack, because the pack's recipe list doesn't show recipes for them. The Replicator also has no recipes by default and needs them added in the config, and I haven't been able to check whether this pack adds any.

How does Mekanism:More Machine work?

8 parts

Mekanism:More Machine does exactly what its name says: it adds more machines and factories on top of Mekanism. The headline additions are a Planting Station and a Replicator, plus factory versions of Mekanism machines that never had them. Here's how each system works.[1][4]

New factories

If machines like the Chemical Oxidizer have always felt slow to you, this is the fix. The mod gives them factory versions, and the higher-tier factories run multiple operations at once to greatly improve production.[1]

The pack has factory lines for centrifuging, chemical infusing, crystallizing, dissolving, oxidizing, pressurised reacting, stamping and washing. For example, you can start with the Basic Oxidizing Factory or the Basic Washing Factory. Factories come in Basic, Advanced, Elite and Ultimate tiers, and each tier is upgraded from the one below it, just like regular Mekanism factories.[3][4]

Watch out: The mod's author notes that these factories don't yet work with ComputerCraft. That makes it hard to control each slot or tank precisely from a computer, so plan your automation around normal Mekanism side configuration instead.[1]

Recycler, scrap and UU Matter

The Recycler destroys items you don't need and turns them into scrap, but only for items that have a recipe. By default the mod only adds dirt and stone, so you don't accidentally throw away something important. Check JEI to see exactly what the Recycler accepts in your game.[1][4]

Scrap is the basic ingredient for making UU Matter, and JEI shows the related recipes. The pack also has a chemical conversion recipe that turns UU Matter from an item into its chemical form, so you can feed it through Mekanism chemical handling.[1][3]

500× UU MatterMod recipe

Chemical Conversion (mekanism)

Recipe id: mekmm:chemical_conversion/uuitem_to_uuchemical

Replicators

There are three replicators: the Replicator for items, the Fluid Replicator and the Chemical Replicator. Each one uses UU Matter to copy things. Out of the box, the Replicator has no recipes at all. Each copyable entry has to be added in the mod's config, along with how much UU Matter it consumes.[1][4]

Unverified This pack ships no config files for this mod, so it's unconfirmed whether the pack adds any replicator recipes. Check JEI to see if your replicators can copy anything. This site does hold All the Mods 10's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.

Planting Station

The Planting Station grows crops by consuming nutrient solution. It works with most things you can grow in vanilla and is fully compatible with Mystical Agriculture.[1][4]

You make nutrient solution in a Mekanism dissolution machine, using nutritional paste together with a bio fuel item or a bio fuel block. Both options are shown below.[3]

Ambient Gas Collector

The Ambient Gas Collector pulls Unstable Dimensional Gas out of the atmosphere. Keep the space above it clear: the machine needs nothing placed on top. Its tooltip tells you whether it's blocked above or not, so check there if collection stops.[4]

CNC Stamper, Lathe and Rolling Mill

These three are general-purpose processing machines. The CNC Stamper uses molds to process items, and it's the only one of the three with ready-made recipes: it links up with Immersive Engineering, AE2 and their addons. The Lathe and Rolling Mill don't have suitable recipes yet, so treat them as future-proofing unless you find recipes for them in JEI.[1][4]

Wireless Charging Station

The Wireless Charging Station charges the items in your inventory and your armor without you having to plug anything in. It also covers Curios slots if you have that mod installed.[4]

Power

Like the rest of Mekanism, these machines run on energy measured in Joules. Each one has a base energy storage and an energy cost per operation. The Wireless Charging Station also has a limit on how much energy it can push into an item each tick.[4]

Unverified The mod also adds a Large Chemical Washer and a Large Rotary Condensentrator. How they're built, and whether they're multiblocks, isn't covered by the available sources.

How do you progress through Mekanism:More Machine?

3 parts

Progression in this mod is all about factories, and this pack drives it entirely through crafting recipes. Each factory line comes in Basic, Advanced, Elite and Ultimate tiers, and every tier is crafted from the one below it. You start with a single-block Mekanism machine, turn it into a Basic factory, and then upgrade that factory step by step.[3]

The factory lines

Each factory line has a Basic tier, and each Basic factory is built around its matching standalone machine, so you need that machine running first. These are the Basic factories you can make in this pack:[3]

Starting the stamping line: the CNC Stamper

The stamping line is the odd one out. Its base machine comes from this mod rather than from Mekanism itself, so you craft the CNC Stamper first before you can build the Basic Stamping Factory.[3]

The other Basic factories follow the same pattern with their own base machine.

Upgrading through the tiers

Once you have a Basic factory, you move up the tiers by crafting it into the next one. Each upgrade recipe takes the previous tier's factory as an input, so you never throw away your earlier work. It gets carried into the upgraded version.[3]

  1. Craft the Basic factory from its base machine, for example Basic Washing Factory.[3]
  2. Upgrade the Basic factory into the Advanced tier, for example Advanced Washing Factory.[3]
  3. Upgrade the Advanced factory into the Elite tier, for example Elite Washing Factory.[3]
  4. Upgrade the Elite factory into the Ultimate tier, for example Ultimate Washing Factory.[3]

Each step up also needs higher-tier Mekanism components than the step before it, so your factory upgrades will track your overall Mekanism progress. Here is the full chain for the washing line so you can see how the tiers stack up:[3]

Tip: In this pack, each factory tier has exactly one recipe, and it needs the tier below. You can't craft an Elite or Ultimate factory directly, so build the Basic version first and upgrade it as your materials allow.[3]

The other lines work exactly the same way. For example, Basic Dissolving Factory upgrades to Advanced Dissolving Factory, then Elite Dissolving Factory, then Ultimate Dissolving Factory. The centrifuging, chemical infusing, crystallizing, oxidizing, pressurised reacting and stamping lines follow the same Basic to Ultimate path.[3]

Unverified The pack data doesn't confirm how much faster each tier runs, how many items it processes at once, or how much energy it uses. It also has no quests guiding you through this mod, so plan your upgrades around the recipes above.

How does Mekanism:More Machine work with other mods?

2 parts

In this pack, Mekanism:More Machine's biggest link to another mod is Mystical Agriculture. The Planting Station consumes nutrient solution to grow crops, and the mod is built to be fully compatible with Mystical Agriculture, so your magical seeds can go straight into a Mekanism-style machine.[1][3]

Mystical Agriculture crops in the Planting Station

Each Mystical Agriculture planting recipe works the same way. You put in a seed and the machine uses nutrient solution. It gives you that crop's essence and returns the seed, so one seed can keep producing indefinitely. For example, Inferium Seeds gives you Inferium Essence and the seeds back.[3]

Example planting recipe: Inferium Essence plus the seeds returned.

Watch out: The pack has changed these Mystical Agriculture planting recipes compared to the mod's own versions. Always check the in-pack recipe shown on the site or in JEI rather than older guides or videos.[3]

The supported seeds cover a wide range of Mystical Agriculture crops. Here are some examples from each group:[3]

CNC Stamper

The CNC Stamper is one of the mod's general-purpose machines. Its crafting recipe connects it to Mekanism and vanilla Minecraft, using Mekanism's Steel Casing alongside vanilla pistons. Check the rendered recipe below for the exact ingredients.[1][3]

Unverified The mod's project page says the Stamper has recipes linked to Immersive Engineering, Applied Energistics 2 and their add-ons. None of those Stamper recipes appear in the pack's recipe data available here, so it is unverified which of them you can use in this pack.
