What is AllTheCompressed?
1 part
AllTheCompressed is part of this pack, which ships version 4.0.2 of the mod built for Minecraft 1.21.1. Its items are compressed versions of everyday blocks such as Dirt 6x, Netherrack 6x and Obsidian 5x, along with compressed storage blocks like Block of Diamond 4x and Nether Star Block 3x.[1][2]
Where it shows up in the quests
The pack's quest chapter "chapter_2_the_star" contains several quests that ask you to hand in compressed blocks, so this mod is worth setting up once you reach that chapter. Most of them ask for a single compressed item.[2]
- a quest in "?" asks for Dirt 6x.[2]
- a quest in "?" asks for Netherrack 6x.[2]
- a quest in "?" asks for End Stone 5x.[2]
- a quest in "?" asks for Obsidian 5x.[2]
- a quest in "?" asks for Block of Diamond 4x.[2]
- a quest in "?" asks for Block of Emerald 4x.[2]
- a quest in "?" is the big one: it asks for 17 Nether Star Block 3x together with 28 Block of Unobtainium - Allthemodium Alloy.[2]
Unverified How compression works in this mod is not confirmed by the available sources. That includes how many blocks go into each tier and whether compressed blocks can be turned back into their originals. The sources also do not show how these quests connect to the ATM Star craft itself.
How do you get started with AllTheCompressed?
3 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 4.5 guide
AllTheCompressed gives you compressed versions of blocks you already know, in tiers running from 1x all the way up to 9x. Each tier is a shaped crafting recipe that builds on the tier below it, and the very first tier is crafted from the normal block. That makes your first steps simple: pick a block you have lots of and start climbing the tiers.[3]
Your first compressed block
Logs make a great first target because you gather them constantly anyway. Acacia Log 1x is crafted straight from regular acacia logs, and Acacia Log 2x comes from the 1x version. The same ladder continues up to Acacia Log 9x. The recipes below show exactly what goes into the first two steps in this pack.[3]

Changing your mind
Compressing isn't a one-way trip. The pack has shapeless decompress recipes that turn a compressed block back into the tier below it. For example, Obsidian 6x breaks back down into Obsidian 5x.[3]

Goals from the quest book
Want something to aim for? The pack's quest chapter chapter_2_the_star has quests that ask you to bring in compressed blocks from this mod. These are good targets once you're comfortable with the tiers.[4]
- a quest in "?" asks for Dirt 6x.[4]
- a quest in "?" asks for Netherrack 6x.[4]
- a quest in "?" asks for Obsidian 5x.[4]
- a quest in "?" asks for End Stone 5x.[4]
- a quest in "?" asks for Block of Diamond 4x.[4]
- a quest in "?" asks for Block of Emerald 4x.[4]
- a quest in "?" asks for Nether Star Block 3x together with 28 Block of Unobtainium - Allthemodium Alloy.[4]
Each of these quest blocks is crafted with a normal shaped compress recipe, so you can check exactly what you need before you start grinding.[3]

How does AllTheCompressed work?
3 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 4.5 guide
AllTheCompressed is all about one core system: compression tiers. It doesn't add machines, multiblocks, or power, fluid or item handling in this pack. Instead, it gives you compressed versions of blocks and items, stacked into a ladder of tiers from 1x up to 9x.[3]
How the tier ladder works
Every compressed line starts from a normal item. For example, a regular acacia log crafts into Acacia Log 1x, and that crafts into Acacia Log 2x. Each step uses the tier just below it, all the way to Acacia Log 9x. You can't skip tiers, so reaching 9x means climbing through every tier in between.[3]
- Craft the base item into its 1x version, like acacia planks into Acacia Planks 1x.[3]
- Craft the 1x version into 2x, then 2x into 3x, and so on. Each tier is its own shaped crafting recipe.[3]
- Keep going until you reach the top tier, such as Acacia Planks 9x.[3]

Not just vanilla blocks
The same ladder works for blocks from other mods too. A regular Allthemodium Block from AllTheModium crafts into Allthemodium Block 1x, and it climbs the same way up to Allthemodium Block 9x. This makes compressed blocks a handy way to store huge amounts of endgame materials in very little space.[3]

Pack change: aluminum
This pack changed the first aluminum recipe. Instead of needing one specific block, Aluminum Block 1x accepts any block tagged as an aluminum storage block. So it doesn't matter which mod your aluminum blocks come from. The next step, Aluminum Block 2x, still uses the mod's normal recipe.[3]

Unverified The recipe dump doesn't show how many items each compression step consumes, so check the recipe viewer for exact amounts. This site does hold All the Mods 10's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
Unverified The provided sources don't show whether compressed blocks can be crafted back down into lower tiers.
Unverified The provided sources don't show any special properties for high-tier compressed blocks.
How do you progress through AllTheCompressed?
3 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 4.5 guide
Compressed blocks come in numbered tiers, and moving up is a simple ladder. The first tier, 1x, is crafted from the normal block. Every tier after that is crafted from the tier right below it. For example, Acacia Log 1x becomes Acacia Log 2x, and so on up the chain. All of these are shaped recipes in a regular crafting grid, so you don't need a special machine to start compressing.[3]

Tier breakdown
Many blocks in this pack go all the way from 1x to 9x. That includes logs and planks like Acacia, stone types like Ancient Stone 9x, and metal and gem blocks like Allthemodium Block 9x, Aluminum Block 9x and Block of Amethyst 9x. Every step in each of those chains uses the same pattern: one tier in, the next tier out.[3]

Going back down
Compressing isn't a one-way trip. Decompress recipes are shapeless and turn a block back into the tier below it. For example, Block of Diamond 5x goes back to Block of Diamond 4x, and Dirt 7x goes back to Dirt 6x. That's handy if you compress one step too far.[3]

Quest goals
The pack's quests give you concrete targets for compression. Each of the quests below asks you to get one specific tier of compressed block, so these are good milestones to work toward.[4]
- a quest in "?" asks for Dirt 6x, which you craft from Dirt 5x.[3][4]
- a quest in "?" asks for Netherrack 6x, which you craft from Netherrack 5x.[3][4]
- a quest in "?" asks for End Stone 5x, which you craft from End Stone 4x.[3][4]
- a quest in "?" asks for Obsidian 5x, which you craft from Obsidian 4x.[3][4]
- a quest in "?" asks for Block of Diamond 4x, which you craft from Block of Diamond 3x.[3][4]
- a quest in "?" asks for Block of Emerald 4x, which you craft from Block of Emerald 3x.[3][4]
- a quest in "?" asks for Nether Star Block 3x, which you craft from Nether Star Block 2x. The same quest also wants 28 Block of Unobtainium - Allthemodium Alloy.[3][4]

Unverified The sources don't show how many blocks of one tier each compression step needs, the order the quests unlock in, or whether turning in a quest consumes the blocks. Check the rendered recipes and the quest book in game for those details.
How does AllTheCompressed work with other mods?
2 parts
AllTheCompressed doesn't just squash vanilla blocks. In this pack it adds compressed versions of blocks from a whole bunch of other mods. Each one has a shaped crafting recipe that turns the original block into its 1x compressed form, and a shapeless recipe that turns it back again. That makes it a handy way to shrink big stockpiles of modded resources down to something your storage can actually handle.[5]
Which mods' blocks you can compress
- Allthemodium: the big one. You can compress Block of Allthemodium, Block of Vibranium and Block of Unobtainium, plus all three alloy blocks such as Block of Unobtainium - Allthemodium Alloy. The raw blocks like Block of Raw Allthemodium work too, along with Ancient Log, Ancient Stone and even Block of Piglich Hearts.[5]
- Powah: every crystal block has a compressed form, including Block Of Blazing Crystal, Block Of Niotic Crystal, Block Of Spirited Crystal and Block Of Nitro Crystal, as well as Block Of Energized Steel and Block Of Uraninite.[5]
- Applied Energistics 2 and its addons: Certus Quartz Block, Fluix Block and Sky Stone all compress. So do Charged Redstone Crystal Block, Entro Block, Block of Silicon, and the MEGA Cells blocks Sky Steel Block, Sky Bronze Block and Sky Osmium Block.[5]
- AllTheTweaks: Nether Star Block and ATM Star Block both have compress and decompress recipes, and Ender Pearl Block 1x decompresses back into Ender Pearl Block.[5]
- PneumaticCraft and Productive Bees: you can compress Block of Compressed Iron and Wax Block.[5]
- All The Ores: compressed versions exist for its metal, gem and raw ore blocks, such as Steel Block 1x, Enderium Block 1x, Ruby Block 1x and Raw Osmium Block 1x. Each one decompresses back into the matching All The Ores block. Salt Block has both a compress and a decompress recipe.[5]

Unverified For most All The Ores blocks, and for the Ender Pearl Block, only the decompress recipe could be confirmed for this section. Check your recipe viewer to see how their compressed versions are made in this pack. This site does hold All the Mods 10's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
Compressed blocks in the star quests
Compressed blocks also show up in the pack's quest chapter chapter_2_the_star. The main cross-mod quest is a quest in "?". It asks for 28 Block of Unobtainium - Allthemodium Alloy together with 17 Nether Star Block 3x, so you need both Allthemodium progress and a serious pile of compressed Nether Star blocks.[2]
The same chapter has several other quests that each ask for a heavily compressed block. a quest in "?" wants Dirt 6x, a quest in "?" wants Netherrack 6x, a quest in "?" wants End Stone 5x and a quest in "?" wants Obsidian 5x. For a quest in "?" you need Block of Diamond 4x, and for a quest in "?" you need Block of Emerald 4x.[2]
Which All the Mods 10 quests use AllTheCompressed?
2 parts
AllTheCompressed shows up in one quest chapter in this pack: the chapter stored as chapter_2_the_star. Its quests are untitled, and each one asks you to hand in a heavily compressed block.[2]
Single compressed block quests
Six quests each ask for one compressed block as their task. They cover common materials and gems.[2]
The big one
a quest in "?" is by far the heaviest hand-in. It asks for 17 of Nether Star Block 3x. It also asks for 28 unobtainium-allthemodium alloy blocks from outside this mod. Start stockpiling Nether Stars well before you reach this quest.[2]
Unverified The quest data doesn't show the order these quests unlock in, what they depend on, or what rewards they give. Check the in-game quest book for the actual order.
