All The Arcanist Gear guide for All the Mods 10 2.0 to 4.5

All The Arcanist Gear adds armor sets for the pack's three signature metals. Each set has a hat, robes, leggings and boots, and you'll find them in Allthemodium, Vibranium and Unobtainium versions. The mod also adds a Creative Spell Book. This pack ships version 1.21.1-21.3.0, and the mod has been here since All the Mods 10 2.2 or earlier.^[1][2][3][4]

Where it fits in the quest book

The gear shows up in the quest book's allthemodium chapter. Quests a quest in "?", a quest in "?" and a quest in "?" each complete when you hold any one piece of the matching Allthemodium, Vibranium or Unobtainium set. Each of them unlocks after earlier quests in that chapter.^[2]

The basic_armor chapter asks for more. Quests a quest in "?", a quest in "?" and a quest in "?" list the hat, robes, leggings and boots of the Allthemodium, Unobtainium and Vibranium sets respectively, so those quests cover a full set.^[3]

The ATM Star chapter also contains quest a quest in "?", which has the Creative Spell Book as its task and unlocks after another quest in that chapter.^[4]

This mod adds Arcanist armor and spell books in Allthemodium, Vibranium and Unobtainium versions. In this pack each tier is a smithing-table upgrade of the one before it, so the order below is the order you'll actually work through them.^[5]

The armor upgrade path

1. Start with the Allthemodium set: Allthemodium Arcanist Hat, Allthemodium Arcanist Robes, Allthemodium Arcanist Leggings and Allthemodium Arcanist Boots. Each piece is a smithing upgrade, and it is the base the next tier builds on.^[5]
2. Upgrade those pieces to Vibranium: Vibranium Arcanist Hat, Vibranium Arcanist Robes, Vibranium Arcanist Leggings and Vibranium Arcanist Boots. The recipes take the matching Allthemodium piece as an input, so you can't skip a tier.^[5]
3. Finish with Unobtainium: Unobtainium Arcanist Hat, Unobtainium Arcanist Robes, Unobtainium Arcanist Leggings and Unobtainium Arcanist Boots. These are upgraded from the matching Vibranium pieces.^[5]

The quest book tracks this too. The basic_armor chapter has one quest per full set: a quest in "?" for Allthemodium, a quest in "?" for Vibranium and a quest in "?" for Unobtainium, each asking for all four pieces. The allthemodium chapter has quests that accept any one piece of a set: a quest in "?", a quest in "?" and a quest in "?".^[2][3]

Spell books

Spell books follow the same chain. Allthemodium Spell Book is a smithing upgrade of an Archmage Spell Book. From there you upgrade to Vibranium Spell Book, and then to Unobtainium Spell Book.^[5]

Threads for your armor

The mod also adds threads, which are made at the Enchanting Apparatus. True Sight grants Nightvision at tier 1, and higher tiers add immunity to Blindness, immunity to Darkness and lava vision. Vitality grants an extra heart for each level.^[5][6]

The endgame item

Creative Spell Book is the far end of the line. The pack adds its own crafting recipe for it, which uses an ATM Star, and it has a quest in the ATM Star chapter: a quest in "?". Treat it as a late goal, not a first step.^[4][5]

Here's the thing about this mod: the sources for this pack describe gear, spell books and threads, not machines, multiblocks, power, fluids or item automation. So this section covers how those pieces fit together, and there is no machine setup to document.^[5][6]

Threads and their perks

Threads are the perk items of the mod. Each one is made at an Ars Nouveau Enchanting Apparatus, and each recipe starts from a Blank Thread. You can see the exact in-pack recipes below.^[5]

• Flight grants creative flight. It only works if it is equipped in a slot of at least level 4.^[5][6]
• Spectral Sight lets you see creatures through walls, with a radius of 8 blocks per level.^[5][6]
• True Sight scales by tier. Tier 1 grants Nightvision, tier 2 grants immunity to Blindness, tier 3 grants immunity to Darkness and tier 4 grants lava vision.^[6]
• Vitality grants an extra heart for each level.^[5][6]

The armor upgrade chain

The arcanist armor is a smithing chain. Each step is a smithing transform that takes the previous piece and turns it into the next one. The chain runs from elemental armor to Allthemodium, then Vibranium, then Unobtainium. The same applies to the hat, robes, leggings and boots.^[5]

1. Start with elemental armor and upgrade it to Allthemodium Arcanist Hat, Allthemodium Arcanist Robes, Allthemodium Arcanist Leggings or Allthemodium Arcanist Boots.^[5]
2. Upgrade the Allthemodium piece to its Vibranium version, for example Vibranium Arcanist Hat or Vibranium Arcanist Robes.^[5]
3. Upgrade the Vibranium piece to its Unobtainium version, for example Unobtainium Arcanist Leggings or Unobtainium Arcanist Boots.^[5]

Arcanist gear in this pack climbs through tiers: Allthemodium, then Vibranium, then Unobtainium. Armor and spell books both follow the same ladder, and every step up is a smithing-table upgrade of the previous tier.^[5]

Tier 1: Allthemodium

This is where you enter the ladder. The Allthemodium armor pieces are smithing upgrades of an elemental armor piece in the matching slot: Allthemodium Arcanist Hat, Allthemodium Arcanist Robes, Allthemodium Arcanist Leggings and Allthemodium Arcanist Boots. The Allthemodium Spell Book is also a smithing upgrade, built on an Archmage Spell Book.^[5]

Quests that track the tiers

The pack tracks the armor tiers with quests in more than one chapter. In the basic armor chapter, each tier has a quest that asks for all four pieces: Allthemodium is a quest in "?", Vibranium is a quest in "?" and Unobtainium is a quest in "?".^[3]

The Allthemodium chapter has a lighter version of each tier. These quests are satisfied by any one piece of the set: a quest in "?" for Allthemodium, a quest in "?" for Vibranium and a quest in "?" for Unobtainium. Each of them unlocks only after other quests in that chapter are done.^[2]

Creative Spell Book

The Creative Spell Book sits outside the three tiers. There is a quest for it in the ATM Star chapter, a quest in "?", which unlocks after another quest in that chapter.^[4]

The pack adds its own crafting recipe for it. The mod also has a shapeless recipe that converts the Ars Nouveau creative spell book into this one.^[5]

Quest connections

The quest book also uses this mod's items. Armor from the mod shows up in quests in the allthemodium and basic_armor chapters, and the Creative Spell Book appears in the ATM Star chapter.^[2][3][4]

• In the allthemodium chapter, a quest in "?" accepts any piece of the Allthemodium Arcanist set, such as Allthemodium Arcanist Hat. a quest in "?" does the same for the Vibranium set and a quest in "?" for the Unobtainium set. Each one unlocks after other quests.^[2]
• In the basic_armor chapter, a quest in "?", a quest in "?" and a quest in "?" ask for all four pieces (hat, robes, leggings and boots) of the Allthemodium, Vibranium and Unobtainium sets respectively.^[3]

Arcanist armor shows up in three quest chapters in this pack. Two of them cover the armor sets, and the third holds a single quest for the Creative Spell Book. The quests have no titles, so you identify them by their ids.^[2][3][4]

Basic Armor chapter

The basic_armor chapter has one quest per metal, and each asks you to obtain all four pieces of the set. They are separate tasks, so you need the hat, robes, leggings and boots. None of these quests lists a prerequisite quest.^[3]

The chapter file named achapter_2r_6the_atm_star contains one quest for this mod: a quest in "?". It asks you to obtain the Creative Spell Book and unlocks after quest a quest in "?".^[4]

Unverified The sources do not say how to obtain the Creative Spell Book, so it is unverified whether it is craftable or only given by other means. The prerequisite quests listed above are also not described in the sources, so what they ask for is unverified.

There isn't much version history to report for All The Arcanist Gear, but here is what the pack files confirm. It was first included in All the Mods 10 2.2 or earlier.^[1]

• All the Mods 10 2.30: the mod was updated from 1.21.1-21.2.0 to 1.21.1-21.3.0.^[7]
• All the Mods 10 4.5: the pack ships version 1.21.1-21.3.0 (allthearcanistgear-1.21.1-21.3.0.jar), the same version that 2.30 brought in.^[1][7]

Unverified No changelogs for the shipped jars are stored, so what actually changed between 1.21.1-21.2.0 and 1.21.1-21.3.0 (new items, balance tweaks, fixes) is unverified in the sources here.
