What is All The Arcanist Gear?

All The Arcanist Gear is part of this pack's mod list. The pack ships version 1.21.1-21.0.1 of it, in the file allthearcanistgear-1.21.1-21.0.1.jar.[1]

It isn't new here. It was already in the pack in release 0.43 or earlier, so it has been around for a while.[1]

Unverified I couldn't confirm from the available sources what the mod adds, who it is aimed at, or where it fits in the pack's progression. I also couldn't confirm any ATM Star path or quest involvement. Until those details are verified, check the items in-game before planning around them.

How do you get started with All The Arcanist Gear?

3 parts

All The Arcanist Gear is a set of armor in four slots: hat, robes, leggings and boots. In this pack it comes in three tiers, Allthemodium, Vibranium and Unobtainium. Every piece is made at a smithing table, and each tier builds on the one before it. So you work through the tiers in order.[2]

Step 1: Allthemodium tier

This is where you start. Each piece is a smithing transform that turns a base armor piece into its Allthemodium version. It needs an Allthemodium smithing template and an Allthemodium ingot. You'll get Allthemodium Arcanist Hat, Allthemodium Arcanist Robes, Allthemodium Arcanist Leggings and Allthemodium Arcanist Boots. Make all four slots before you move on, because the next tier upgrades them one by one.[2]

Step 2: Vibranium tier

The Vibranium pieces are another smithing upgrade, this time starting from the matching Allthemodium piece. They also need a Vibranium smithing template and a Vibranium ingot. The results are Vibranium Arcanist Hat, Vibranium Arcanist Robes, Vibranium Arcanist Leggings and Vibranium Arcanist Boots. Because the upgrade uses up the Allthemodium piece, you can't skip the first tier.[2]

Step 3: Unobtainium tier

The last tier upgrades the matching Vibranium piece the same way. It needs an Unobtainium smithing template and an Unobtainium ingot. You end up with Unobtainium Arcanist Hat, Unobtainium Arcanist Robes, Unobtainium Arcanist Leggings and Unobtainium Arcanist Boots.[2]

Tip: Plan one slot at a time. Every upgrade needs a template and an ingot of its tier, so check you have both before you put a piece in the smithing table.[2]

Unverified The available sources don't say which items count as the base hat, chest, leggings and boots, how to get the smithing templates, or what stats and bonuses each tier gives. The pack has no quests for this mod either. Check these in the pack's recipe viewer in game before you plan your route. This site does hold All the Mods 10's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.

How does All The Arcanist Gear work?

2 parts

This mod is pure armor, so there are no machines, multiblocks, power systems, fluid handling or automation to learn. The only mechanic the sources document is how you get each piece: a chain of smithing-table upgrade recipes.[2]

The upgrade chain

Every piece comes from a smithing transform recipe, and there are three tiers: Allthemodium, then Vibranium, then Unobtainium. Each tier has four slots: hat, robes, leggings and boots.[2]

The first tier, such as the Allthemodium Arcanist Hat, is made from a base piece in the matching slot. The recipes use item tags for the base hat, base chest, base legs and base boots, and the Allthemodium robes come from the base chest tag. Each recipe also needs an Allthemodium ingot and an item from a mod-defined smithing tag.[2]

Tier one: base hat to Allthemodium Arcanist Hat. The chest, legs and boots follow the same pattern.

The next two tiers are upgrades of the finished piece from the tier before. Your Allthemodium Arcanist Hat becomes the Vibranium Arcanist Hat, and that becomes the Unobtainium Arcanist Hat. Each step uses the ingot of the new metal plus its own smithing tag item.[2]

All the slots

Tip: Upgrades go slot by slot, so you need to upgrade each of the four pieces separately at every tier. Plan your ingots for all four slots before you start.[2]

Unverified The sources don't say which items the base hat, chest, legs and boots tags or the smithing tags contain. They also don't cover armor stats, set bonuses, magic or mana effects, or any config options. This section leaves those out until they can be confirmed.

How do you progress through All The Arcanist Gear?

3 parts

Arcanist gear in this pack is a straight upgrade ladder with three tiers: Allthemodium, then Vibranium, then Unobtainium. Every tier is made at a smithing table, and each tier after the first upgrades the matching piece from the tier below. That means you can't skip ahead, so you'll build the gear in order.[2]

Tier 1: Allthemodium

This is the entry tier. Instead of starting from another Arcanist piece, each Allthemodium piece is made from a base piece for its slot, using a smithing transform. You get Allthemodium Arcanist Hat, Allthemodium Arcanist Robes, Allthemodium Arcanist Leggings and Allthemodium Arcanist Boots. Here's the hat recipe as an example, and the other slots follow the same pattern with their own base piece.[2]

The robes, leggings and boots use the matching base_*_to_allthemodium_* smithing recipes.

Tier 2: Vibranium

Next you upgrade your Allthemodium pieces into Vibranium Arcanist Hat, Vibranium Arcanist Robes, Vibranium Arcanist Leggings and Vibranium Arcanist Boots. Each Vibranium piece consumes the Allthemodium piece of the same slot, so keep your Allthemodium set until you're ready to upgrade it.[2]

Robes, leggings and boots have their own vibranium_*_smithing recipes.

Tier 3: Unobtainium

The top tier follows the same idea. Unobtainium Arcanist Hat, Unobtainium Arcanist Robes, Unobtainium Arcanist Leggings and Unobtainium Arcanist Boots are each smithed from the Vibranium piece of the same slot.[2]

Robes, leggings and boots have their own unobtainium_*_smithing recipes.

Tip: Because each upgrade consumes the previous tier's piece, you can upgrade slot by slot. You don't have to finish a full set at one tier before starting the next.[2]

Unverified This section doesn't cover the stats of each tier, which base pieces are accepted for the first tier, or where to get the smithing templates. None of that is confirmed by the sources, and no quests in this pack are confirmed to involve this gear.
