What is All The Arcanist Gear?

2 parts

All The Arcanist Gear adds armor sets for the pack's three signature metals. You get an Allthemodium set, a Vibranium set and an Unobtainium set. Each set has four pieces: a hat, robes, leggings and boots. The pack ships version 1.21.1-21.0.4 of the mod, and it has been included since version 0.43 or earlier.[1][2][3]

The three sets

Where it fits in the quest book

The gear shows up in two quest chapters. In the "allthemodium" chapter, quests like a quest in "?" (Allthemodium), a quest in "?" (Vibranium) and a quest in "?" (Unobtainium) each unlock once you have any one piece of that set. Every one of them also needs earlier quests in the chapter to be done first.[2]

In the "basic_armor" chapter, a quest in "?" (Allthemodium), a quest in "?" (Vibranium) and a quest in "?" (Unobtainium) ask for all four pieces of a set. They are the full-set checks.[3]

Unverified The sources I have don't show the crafting recipes, the armor stats or any special abilities of these sets. They also don't show the mod on the ATM Star quest path, so check those in-game before relying on them.

How do you get started with All The Arcanist Gear?

2 parts

This mod adds Arcanist armor in tiers named after Allthemodium, Vibranium and Unobtainium. Every tier has a hat, robes, leggings and boots. In this pack you get them by upgrading at a smithing table, so you work up through the tiers in order.[4]

The order to follow

  1. Start with the Allthemodium tier: Allthemodium Arcanist Hat, Allthemodium Arcanist Robes, Allthemodium Arcanist Leggings and Allthemodium Arcanist Boots. Each piece is a smithing upgrade of the matching elemental armor piece, using an Allthemodium ingot, so this is where the whole line begins.[4]
  2. Next, upgrade your Allthemodium pieces to the Vibranium tier, for example Vibranium Arcanist Hat and Vibranium Arcanist Robes. The Vibranium recipes take the Allthemodium piece of the same slot as their base, so keep your first set.[4]
  3. Finish with the Unobtainium tier, for example Unobtainium Arcanist Leggings and Unobtainium Arcanist Boots. These recipes take the Vibranium piece of the same slot as their base.[4]

Here are the hat recipes for each tier. The robes, leggings and boots follow the same pattern, each with its own recipe in the pack.[4]

Tip: Each tier uses the previous tier's piece as its base, so the lower-tier piece you upgrade is consumed in the recipe. Check which slot you are upgrading before you start.[4]

Quests that track this gear

The pack's quest book has entries for these armor sets. The basic armor chapter has one quest per metal, with a separate task for each piece: a quest in "?" for Allthemodium, a quest in "?" for Vibranium and a quest in "?" for Unobtainium.[3]

The allthemodium chapter also has quests for the same gear, and each one accepts any one of the pieces: a quest in "?" for Allthemodium, a quest in "?" for Vibranium and a quest in "?" for Unobtainium. They come after other quests in that chapter, so you may not see them right away.[2]

Unverified The armor stats, any special effects or bonuses, and how the pack's elemental armor is obtained are not covered by the available sources, so they are not described here.

How does All The Arcanist Gear work?

2 parts

This mod is armor, and the only system the pack data explains is smithing upgrades. Every piece in the recipe data comes from a smithing transform recipe. Nothing in the sources describes machines, multiblocks, power, fluids or item automation for this mod, so this section stays short.[4]

The upgrade chain

The gear comes in four slots (hat, robes, leggings, boots) and three metal tiers. Each step is a smithing transform recipe, and you upgrade one piece at a time.[4]

  1. Allthemodium tier: Allthemodium Arcanist Hat, Allthemodium Arcanist Robes, Allthemodium Arcanist Leggings and Allthemodium Arcanist Boots are made from the matching elemental armor piece for each slot.[4]
  2. Vibranium tier: Vibranium Arcanist Hat, Vibranium Arcanist Robes, Vibranium Arcanist Leggings and Vibranium Arcanist Boots are upgraded from the Allthemodium piece of the same slot.[4]
  3. Unobtainium tier: Unobtainium Arcanist Hat, Unobtainium Arcanist Robes, Unobtainium Arcanist Leggings and Unobtainium Arcanist Boots are upgraded from the Vibranium piece of the same slot.[4]

Because each tier builds on the last, you can't skip ahead. To get Unobtainium gear you have to pass through Allthemodium and Vibranium first.[4]

Recipes by tier

The hat recipes below show the pattern for each tier. The robes, leggings and boots recipes follow the same structure for their own slot.[4]

Tip: Each tier's upgrade takes a smithing template item from a mod tag made for that tier, and the first step takes any item from an elemental armor tag. The sources don't say which items are in those tags, so check the recipe viewer in-game to see exactly what fits.[4]

Unverified Armor stats, set bonuses, durability, any magic or spell-related effects and the contents of the elemental armor and smithing template tags are not covered by the available sources, so they are not described here.

How do you progress through All The Arcanist Gear?

3 parts

Arcanist gear in this pack has three metal tiers, and you climb them in a fixed order: Allthemodium, then Vibranium, then Unobtainium. Every step is a smithing table upgrade, and each tier is made from the previous one.[2][4]

The tier path

  1. Allthemodium: Allthemodium Arcanist Hat, Allthemodium Arcanist Robes, Allthemodium Arcanist Leggings and Allthemodium Arcanist Boots are smithed from an elemental armor piece of the matching slot (hat, chest, legs or boots).[4]
  2. Vibranium: Vibranium Arcanist Hat, Vibranium Arcanist Robes, Vibranium Arcanist Leggings and Vibranium Arcanist Boots are smithed from the Allthemodium piece of the same slot.[4]
  3. Unobtainium: Unobtainium Arcanist Hat, Unobtainium Arcanist Robes, Unobtainium Arcanist Leggings and Unobtainium Arcanist Boots are smithed from the Vibranium piece of the same slot.[4]

Because each tier upgrades the one below, you can't skip ahead. You need the Allthemodium piece before you can make its Vibranium version, and the Vibranium piece before the Unobtainium one. Each slot has its own recipe, so you upgrade the hat, robes, leggings and boots one piece at a time.[4]

Recipes for each tier

Here is the hat recipe for each tier. The robes, leggings and boots follow the same pattern with their own recipes.[4]

What the quest book says

The "allthemodium" chapter has one quest per tier. Quest a quest in "?" covers the Allthemodium set, quest a quest in "?" covers the Vibranium set, and quest a quest in "?" covers the Unobtainium set. Each of them accepts any one piece of that tier, and each lists two prerequisite quests.[2]

The "basic_armor" chapter also has a quest per tier: a quest in "?" for Allthemodium, a quest in "?" for Vibranium and a quest in "?" for Unobtainium. Each one lists four separate tasks, one for each piece of the set (hat, robes, leggings and boots).[3]

How does All The Arcanist Gear work with other mods?

The clearest link between this mod and the rest of the pack is the quest book. The three metal sets of Arcanist gear (Allthemodium, Vibranium and Unobtainium) each get their own quest in the chapter named after the allthemodium metal.[2]

Each of these quests comes after two other quests in the quest tree, so you unlock them by progressing through the chapter rather than starting here. The sources don't say what those earlier quests ask for.[2]

The basic_armor chapter also has a quest for each metal set: a quest in "?" for Allthemodium, a quest in "?" for Vibranium and a quest in "?" for Unobtainium. These list the hat, robes, leggings and boots as four separate tasks instead of one either-or task.[3]

Unverified No recipes were found that combine items from this mod with items from other mods, so any crafting links beyond these quests are unconfirmed. The sources also don't show what the earlier quests in the tree require.

Which All the Mods 10 quests use All The Arcanist Gear?

3 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10 4.5 guide

Arcanist armor shows up in three quest chapters in this pack. Two of them cover the armor sets, and the third holds a single quest for the Creative Spell Book. The quests have no titles, so you identify them by their ids.[5][6][7]

Basic Armor chapter

The basic_armor chapter has one quest per metal, and each asks you to obtain all four pieces of the set. They are separate tasks, so you need the hat, robes, leggings and boots. None of these quests lists a prerequisite quest.[6]

Allthemodium chapter

The allthemodium chapter has the same three metals, but the tasks are looser. Each quest accepts any one piece of the set, whether that is the hat, robes, leggings or boots. Each one is also locked behind two earlier quests in the chapter.[5]

Tip: The allthemodium chapter only needs one piece per metal, so a single hat or pair of boots is enough to tick it off. The basic_armor chapter wants the full set, so work toward all four pieces there.[5][6]

Creative Spell Book quest

The chapter file named achapter_2r_6the_atm_star contains one quest for this mod: a quest in "?". It asks you to obtain the Creative Spell Book and unlocks after quest a quest in "?".[7]

Unverified The sources do not say how to obtain the Creative Spell Book, so it is unverified whether it is craftable or only given by other means. The prerequisite quests listed above are also not described in the sources, so what they ask for is unverified.
