What is All The Arcanist Gear?

2 parts

All The Arcanist Gear adds armor sets themed around the pack's ATM metals. In this pack it is version 1.21.1-21.0.3, and it has been here since at least All the Mods 10 0.43.[1]

You get a set for each of three metals: Allthemodium, Vibranium and Unobtainium. Each set has a hat, robes, leggings and boots. For example, the Allthemodium set is Allthemodium Arcanist Hat, Allthemodium Arcanist Robes, Allthemodium Arcanist Leggings and Allthemodium Arcanist Boots.[2]

The other two sets

Where it fits in progression

The mod has quests in the pack's allthemodium chapter, one per metal. Each one is completed by having any piece of that set: a quest in "?" for Allthemodium, a quest in "?" for Vibranium and a quest in "?" for Unobtainium. Each quest also needs two earlier quests in that chapter finished first, so the gear sits in the ATM metal tier of the pack.[2]

If you want to wear the set for a metal, treat getting it as a goal that comes after you have made progress with that metal.[2]

Unverified The sources don't confirm what the armor does (stats, bonuses or magic perks), how the pieces are crafted, or whether the mod has any config options. They also don't show where it sits relative to the ATM Star path, so check in-game before planning around any of that.

How do you get started with All The Arcanist Gear?

3 parts

Welcome to the arcanist armor! This gear comes in three metal tiers: Allthemodium, then Vibranium, then Unobtainium. Each tier has four pieces (hat, robes, leggings and boots), and every piece is made with a smithing recipe, so there is no crafting grid shape to memorize. The recipe blocks below show the exact in-pack recipes.[2][3]

Step 1: Allthemodium arcanist gear

Start with the Allthemodium Arcanist Hat, Allthemodium Arcanist Robes, Allthemodium Arcanist Leggings and Allthemodium Arcanist Boots. This is the first tier, and the Vibranium tier is built from it. Each of the four slots has its own smithing recipe. Here is the hat, and the other slots have matching recipes.[2][3]

Smithing Transform

  • any allthemodium smithing
  • any elemental hat
  • any allthemodium ingot

Recipe id: minecraft:elemental_hat_to_allthemodium_hat_smithing

The robes, leggings and boots have matching recipes in the same style.

The pack has a quest for this tier. Quest a quest in "?" is completed by getting any one of the Allthemodium pieces, so you don't need the full set to tick it off.[2]

Step 2: Vibranium arcanist gear

Next, upgrade your Allthemodium pieces into the Vibranium Arcanist Hat, Vibranium Arcanist Robes, Vibranium Arcanist Leggings and Vibranium Arcanist Boots. The Vibranium recipe takes the matching Allthemodium piece as its base, so don't throw your first set away.[3]

Smithing Transform

Recipe id: minecraft:vibranium_hat_smithing

Robes, leggings and boots each have their own matching Vibranium recipe.

Quest a quest in "?" tracks this tier and also accepts any one of the Vibranium pieces.[2]

Step 3: Unobtainium arcanist gear

The last tier is the Unobtainium Arcanist Hat, Unobtainium Arcanist Robes, Unobtainium Arcanist Leggings and Unobtainium Arcanist Boots. Each one is an upgrade of the matching Vibranium piece, so you need to finish the Vibranium tier first.[3]

Smithing Transform

Recipe id: minecraft:unobtainium_hat_smithing

Robes, leggings and boots follow the same pattern.

Quest a quest in "?" covers this tier, again with any one of the pieces.[2]

Tip: Upgrade one slot at a time and follow the quests as you go. Each tier needs the matching piece from the previous tier, so plan your upgrades around that and don't skip ahead.[2][3]

Unverified The armor stats, set bonuses and special effects of these pieces are not covered by the available sources, so what each tier does beyond the upgrade path is unverified.

How does All The Arcanist Gear work?

2 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10 1.23 guide

This mod is armor, and the only system the pack data explains is smithing upgrades. Every piece in the recipe data comes from a smithing transform recipe. Nothing in the sources describes machines, multiblocks, power, fluids or item automation for this mod, so this section stays short.[4]

The upgrade chain

The gear comes in four slots (hat, robes, leggings, boots) and three metal tiers. Each step is a smithing transform recipe, and you upgrade one piece at a time.[4]

  1. Allthemodium tier: Allthemodium Arcanist Hat, Allthemodium Arcanist Robes, Allthemodium Arcanist Leggings and Allthemodium Arcanist Boots are made from the matching elemental armor piece for each slot.[4]
  2. Vibranium tier: Vibranium Arcanist Hat, Vibranium Arcanist Robes, Vibranium Arcanist Leggings and Vibranium Arcanist Boots are upgraded from the Allthemodium piece of the same slot.[4]
  3. Unobtainium tier: Unobtainium Arcanist Hat, Unobtainium Arcanist Robes, Unobtainium Arcanist Leggings and Unobtainium Arcanist Boots are upgraded from the Vibranium piece of the same slot.[4]

Because each tier builds on the last, you can't skip ahead. To get Unobtainium gear you have to pass through Allthemodium and Vibranium first.[4]

Recipes by tier

The hat recipes below show the pattern for each tier. The robes, leggings and boots recipes follow the same structure for their own slot.[4]

Smithing Transform

  • any allthemodium smithing
  • any elemental hat
  • any allthemodium ingot

Recipe id: minecraft:elemental_hat_to_allthemodium_hat_smithing

First step: elemental hat to Allthemodium.

Recipe id: minecraft:vibranium_hat_smithing

Second step: Allthemodium to Vibranium.

Smithing Transform

Recipe id: minecraft:unobtainium_hat_smithing

Final step: Vibranium to Unobtainium.

Tip: Each tier's upgrade takes a smithing template item from a mod tag made for that tier, and the first step takes any item from an elemental armor tag. The sources don't say which items are in those tags, so check the recipe viewer in-game to see exactly what fits.[4]

Unverified Armor stats, set bonuses, durability, any magic or spell-related effects and the contents of the elemental armor and smithing template tags are not covered by the available sources, so they are not described here.

How do you progress through All The Arcanist Gear?

4 parts

Arcanist gear in the pack comes in three metal tiers, and you climb them in this order: Allthemodium, then Vibranium, then Unobtainium. Every tier has the same four slots: hat, robes, leggings and boots.[2][3]

Every tier is a smithing upgrade rather than a from-scratch craft. The first tier starts from the mod's elemental armor pieces. After that, each tier upgrades the matching piece from the tier below, so a hat becomes a hat, robes become robes, and so on.[3]

Tip: Because upgrades go slot by slot, you can climb the tiers one piece at a time. You don't need a full set before you start on the next tier.[3]

Tier 1: Allthemodium

The entry tier is Allthemodium Arcanist Hat, Allthemodium Arcanist Robes, Allthemodium Arcanist Leggings and Allthemodium Arcanist Boots. Each one is a smithing upgrade of the matching elemental armor piece.[3]

Tier 2: Vibranium

Tier 3: Unobtainium

The top tier is Unobtainium Arcanist Hat, Unobtainium Arcanist Robes, Unobtainium Arcanist Leggings and Unobtainium Arcanist Boots. Each is an upgrade of the matching Vibranium piece, so you have to go through Allthemodium and Vibranium first.[3]

Quests

The pack's allthemodium quest chapter has one quest per tier. Quest a quest in "?" covers Allthemodium, quest a quest in "?" covers Vibranium, and quest a quest in "?" covers Unobtainium. Each one asks for any one of the four pieces of its tier, so a single hat, robe, pair of leggings or pair of boots is enough to complete it.[2]

Unverified The sources don't give armor values, set bonuses or arcane perks for any tier. They also don't say which items count as the elemental base armor for the first upgrade. Check those in game before you plan around them.

How does All The Arcanist Gear work with other mods?

1 part

The sources I have for this pack don't show any crafting recipes that mix All The Arcanist Gear with items from other mods. The only link I can confirm comes from the questbook, where the armor sets are tied into the allthemodium chapter.[2]

Quest connections

Three quests in the allthemodium chapter each ask you to hand in a piece of one of this mod's armor sets. Any one piece of the set counts, whether it's the hat, robes, leggings or boots. You don't need the full set to complete the task.[2]

Each of these quests comes after two other quests in the chapter, so you'll reach them as part of the normal progression through the questbook rather than as standalone side tasks.[2]

Unverified How the armor is crafted, and whether it connects to other mods through recipes, isn't confirmed by the sources for this section. Check the recipe viewer in game for the exact in-pack recipes. This site does hold All the Mods 10's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.

Which All the Mods 10 quests use All The Arcanist Gear?

The mod shows up in the allthemodium chapter of the quest book. Each quest there is a simple hand-in: you only need to have one piece of the matching Arcanist armor set to complete it.[2]

None of these quests has a title in the quest file. Since the task takes any one piece from the set, you don't have to craft the whole set to get credit.[2]

Each of the three quests unlocks only after other quests in the book are done, and each one has its own separate prerequisites. The Allthemodium, Vibranium and Unobtainium quests don't depend on each other in the quest data.[2]

Unverified The quest data doesn't say what the prerequisite quests ask for, and it doesn't show a fixed order between the three armor quests. Check the quest book in your world to see which one unlocks first for you.
