What is Chisel?
1 part
The pack includes Chisel 1.1.4-1.20.1. The jar in the mod list is named chisel_chipped_integration-v1.1.6-1.20.1, and the mod has been in the pack since version 0.0.45.4 or earlier.[1]
The sources here don't describe what the mod does in general. What they do show is three of its blocks that the quest book asks you to hand in: Factory Block, Technical Block and Futura Block. In both quests they are part of a bigger machine build.[2][3]
Where the quest book uses it
The quest book has no chapter of its own for this mod. Its blocks show up in two quests in two different chapters.[2][3]
- The Auto Sieve quest "Auto Sieve" quest is in the chapter "The Beginning" (group "Storyline", chapter 4 of 44 in the book) and comes after a quest in "The Beginning". Its task list asks you to hand in, among other items, 45 of Factory Block and 4 of Technical Block. No other quest in that chapter lists it as a prerequisite.[3]
- The Futura Block quest a quest in "Masterful Machinery" is in the chapter "Masterful Machinery" (group "Production", chapter 25 of 44) and comes after a quest in "Masterful Machinery". Its tasks ask for a Masterful Machinery controller and Futura Block. No other quest in that chapter lists it as a prerequisite.[2]
How do you get started with Chisel?
4 parts
Two quests in the book ask for items from this mod. The first is "Auto Sieve" quest in The Beginning chapter, which comes after a quest in "The Beginning". Among other things, it asks for 45 of Factory Block and 4 of Technical Block. The second is a quest in "Masterful Machinery" in the Masterful Machinery chapter, which comes after a quest in "Masterful Machinery" and asks for Futura Block.[2][3]
Step 1: Make Factory Blocks
The base Factory Block is Factory Block, and the pack converts it into the blue framed variant. One craft gives you 24 of them, and the Auto Sieve quest wants 45 of the blue framed variant, so plan on crafting more than once.[3][4]

Step 2: Turn them into the blue framed circuit
The pack adds a stonecutting recipe that converts the base Factory Block into Factory Block. It also adds a smelting recipe for the same conversion, so a furnace works too.[4]

Step 3: Technical Blocks and the fan
The same quest also needs 4 Technical Block. Start by crafting the base Technical Block, Technical Block. One craft gives you 24.[3][4]

Step 4: Futura Blocks for the Masterful Machinery quest
The Futura Block quest needs Futura Block. The base craft makes 8 of Futura Block, and the pack then lets you convert that block.[2][4]

How does Chisel work?
5 parts
Chisel doesn't bring machines of its own in anything I can confirm. Its blocks are decorative variants, and many are tagged CTM in the language file (some as "3x3 Pattern CTM" or "2x2 Pattern CTM"). Where they matter mechanically is in this pack's recipes and in its multiblock structures, so that's what this section covers.[4][5][6][7]
Getting variants: the stonecutter
Most variants come from the stonecutter. The pack has 182 stonecutting recipes that turn one Chisel block into another, with 95 different results. It also has 148 that turn vanilla Minecraft blocks into Chisel blocks, 49 from Thermal blocks, 21 from Common Ore Library blocks and 7 from All The Ores blocks.[4]
The pack adds these stonecutting recipes itself. For example, the bolted and caution metal variants such as Block of Aluminum, Block of Bronze, Block of Tin and Block of Uranium are cut from the matching plain metal block. The legacy carpets such as Legacy Black Carpet and Legacy Blue Carpet are cut from the vanilla carpet of the same colour.[4]
Factory blocks
The base Factory Block is a mod recipe and makes 24 at a time. It gives you Factory Block.[4]

From there the pack gives you two routes to Factory Block: the stonecutter or the furnace. Both recipes are added by the pack.[4][8]

Smelting

The pack also adds a furnace recipe for Technical Block, which is made by smelting Technical Block.[8]
Futura blocks
The pack adds 7 shaped Futura crafting recipes, and each makes 3 blocks. The results are Futura Block, Futura Block, Futura Block, Futura Block, Futura Block, Futura Block and Futura Block. Here are two of them.[4][8]

Chisel blocks inside multiblocks
The pack's multiblock structures (mm structures, defined in KubeJS scripts) use Chisel blocks as their frame. Each layout sets portsAnywhere(true) and marks item input, item output and energy input ports. These two layouts define no fluid ports.[6][7]
The Auto Sieve has four tiers, all with the same footprint and four layers. The frame is Factory Block, with AE2 quartz glass, a Technical Block in each corner of the first layer, and the pack's Auto Mechanical Sieve block inside. The tiers differ in one block only, the centre block of the middle layers (the layout's A key). Tier 1 leaves it as air. Tier 2 uses Citrinetine Block, tier 3 uses Amethystine Block and tier 4 uses Crimson Dragonstone Block.[7]
The Advanced Awakening Altar has two tiers with the same layered layout. It uses Factory Block for the outer top and bottom layers, Factory Block for the rim, and Factory Block for the floor panels. In the middle it uses AE2 quartz glass and end rods, with Mystical Agriculture's Awakening Altar, pedestals and essence vessels. Only one block differs between the tiers. Tier 1 uses Awakened Draconium Block and tier 2 uses Crimson Dragonstone Block in the same spot.[6]

How do you progress through Chisel?
4 parts
Chisel has no quest chapter of its own in this pack, and the sources show no tiered upgrade path for it. What the quest book does is ask you for a few of its blocks as machine parts. So the useful path is: make the base blocks, turn them into the variants you need, then use them where the quests call for them.[2][3][4]
Step 1: the base blocks
Each decorative family starts from a plain crafting recipe that comes from the mod itself. The Factory, Laboratory and Technical recipes each give 24 blocks, the Futura recipe gives 8, and the Tyrian recipe gives 24.[4]
- Factory Block is the base Factory Block and the starting point for the other Factory variants.[4]
- Futura Block is the base Futura Block.[4]
- Technical Block is the base Technical Block.[4]
- Laboratory Block and Tyrian have their own base recipes too.[4]

Step 2: the variants
Most of the mod's content is variants, and this is where the pack adds a lot. The recipe list shows 182 stonecutting recipes that turn this mod's blocks into other blocks of this mod. There are also stonecutting recipes that make this mod's blocks from vanilla blocks such as carpets, and from metal storage blocks such as tin, aluminum, bronze and uranium.[4]
The pack also adds smelting recipes for two blocks you will need later: Factory Block and Technical Block. Both are also available through stonecutting.[4][8]

The pack also adds shaped crafting recipes for several Futura variants, and each one makes 3 blocks. Futura Block is one of them, and a quest asks for it (see below).[4][8]

Step 3: where the quests ask for it
The first place is the Auto Sieve quest "Auto Sieve" quest in The Beginning (group Storyline, chapter 4 of 44). It comes after the Mechanical Hammer quest a quest in "The Beginning" and asks you to hand in 45 Factory Block and 4 Technical Block, among other things. Both blocks have pack recipes, shown in Step 2.[3][4][8]
The second is the Futura Block quest a quest in "Masterful Machinery" in the Masterful Machinery chapter (group Production, chapter 25 of 44, 18 quests). It asks you to hand in the Infinity Cell Factory controller and Futura Block, and it comes after the Priority Setter quest a quest in "Masterful Machinery". The Futura block has its own pack recipes, shown in Step 2.[2][4][8]
Step 4: Chisel blocks inside machine structures
Factory blue framed circuit blocks are also part of some Masterful Machinery multiblock layouts in this pack. Both Fire Attuned structures use them, and Tier 2 adds an Avaritia neutron block to the structure. The Event Horizon Antimatter Synthesizer layout uses them as well. The quests for these machines are a quest in "Masterful Machinery" and a quest in "Masterful Machinery", and both come after the Priority Setter quest.[2][9][10]
How does Chisel work with other mods?
3 parts
The clearest link between Chisel and the rest of the pack is metal blocks. The pack adds stonecutting recipes that turn plain metal blocks from other mods into Chisel's decorative metal variants, and back again. The recipes written out in the dump cover Thermal's Block of Bronze and Block of Electrum, Common Ore Library's Aluminum Block and Cobalt Block, All the Ores' Tin Block and Mekanism's Uranium Block. The dump's counts show that the Thermal and Common Ore Library conversions go beyond the ones written out there, but the sources here do not list the rest.[4]
Which metals get which variants
- Bronze, aluminum, tin and uranium each get seven variants: bolted, caution, egregious, industrial relic, scaffold, shipping crate and thermal. One example is Block of Bronze.[4]
- Electrum gets five: bolted, caution, egregious, industrial relic and scaffold.[4]
- Cobalt gets four: bolted, caution, egregious and industrial relic.[4]
Each of these conversions is a pack-added stonecutting recipe, and each one has a reverse recipe. Here is the bronze pair for the bolted variant. The other metals and variants listed above follow the same pattern.[4]
Stonecutting
Recipe id: minecraft:kjs/chisel_chipped_integration_metal_bronze_bolted
A pack-added stonecutting recipe: Thermal's bronze block into the Chisel bolted variant.
The reverse stonecutting recipe, also added by the pack, turns the bolted variant back into Thermal's bronze block.
Quest book links
Chisel blocks also show up in the quest book as parts for Masterful Machinery multiblocks. In the Masterful Machinery chapter (group Production, chapter 25 of 44), the a quest in "Masterful Machinery" quest asks for the Infinity Cell Factory controller together with Futura Block. It unlocks after the a quest in "Masterful Machinery" quest.[2]
In the Storyline chapter The Beginning, the "Auto Sieve" quest quest asks for the Auto Sieve controller plus a long list of parts. Two of them are Chisel blocks: Factory Block and Technical Block. The other parts include items from Mekanism, Advanced Netherite, AE2 and Ex Deorum, plus the pack's own KubeJS items. It comes after the Mechanical Hammer quest. The quest book does not show 18 of the 58 quests in that chapter here, so check the book itself for the rest.[3]
The pack's own Chisel script changes how you get both of these quest items. It adds smelting recipes for Technical Block and Factory Block. It also adds recipes for several Futura blocks, including Futura Block.[8]
Masterful Machinery structures
The Fire Attuned machine builds on a Chisel block too. In the pack's layout script, both Fire Attuned Tier 1 and Fire Attuned Tier 2 use Factory Block as their frame block. Tier 2 also adds an Neutronium Block block.[10]
The Masterful Machinery chapter also has a quest for the Fire Attuned controller, which asks for Lava Bucket alongside the controller.[2]
Which Project Infinity 0.1 quests use Chisel?
2 parts
The Chisel integration blocks appear as quest tasks in two chapters of the pack's quest book. This section only covers what those quests ask you to bring.[2][3]
The Beginning (Storyline)
This chapter sits in the Storyline group of the quest book. The Chisel blocks appear in "Auto Sieve" quest, which comes after a quest in "The Beginning".[3]
Among its many tasks, the quest asks for Factory Block (45 of them) and Technical Block (4 of them). It also asks for the auto sieve controller, 9 auto mechanical sieves and some other items, so it helps to gather the Chisel blocks ahead of time.[3]
The path to it, in order:[3]
- "Welcome" quest is a checkmark and the first quest of the chain.[3]
- "Where it all began" quest asks for 8 oak logs.[3]
- "The Crook" quest asks for a crook.[3]
- "String" quest asks for string.[3]
- "The Sieve" quest asks for an oak sieve and a string mesh.[3]
- a quest in "The Beginning" asks for a mechanical sieve and a mechanical hammer.[3]
- "Auto Sieve" quest is the Auto Sieve quest with the Chisel blocks.[3]
Masterful Machinery (Production)
This chapter sits in the Production group of the quest book. It opens with a quest in "Masterful Machinery", which asks for a checkmark and the priority setter.[2]
The Chisel quest here is a quest in "Masterful Machinery", which comes after the Priority Setter quest. It asks for the infinity cell factory controller and a Futura Block.[2]
