What is Super Factory Manager?
3 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 2.12 guide
Super Factory Manager is a mod for moving stuff around in Minecraft, and it does that with a programming language. You write a script that describes what should move and where, and the mod runs it for you. Version 4 of the mod replaced the old flowchart-style GUIs with this scripting language.[1]
This pack includes Super Factory Manager 4.19.0 for Minecraft 1.21.1. It has been in the pack since version 0.32 or earlier, so it is a long-standing part of the modpack.[2]
Who it is for
It suits you if you want to automate item movement between inventories and are happy to write or paste a short script instead of wiring up pipes. The project page describes it as a scripting approach, so some trial and error is part of the fun.[1]
What you need to get started
- A Factory Manager, which is the block that runs your program.[1]
- A Program Disk, which goes inside the Manager's GUI and holds your script.[1]
- A Label Gun, which you use to tag the blocks your script refers to.[1]
- Optionally, Inventory Cables to connect the Manager to your inventories.[1]
The basic flow is to place the manager, connect your inventories, put the disk in, and paste in your script. Then you load the labels from the script with the label gun, apply them to your blocks, and save them to the disk.[1]
Where it fits in progression
Unverified The sources I was given do not show any quests, ATM Star path steps or in-jar guidebook entries for this mod, so I can't say where it sits in the pack's progression. Treat it as an optional automation tool that you bring in whenever you want it.
How do you get started with Super Factory Manager?
6 parts
Super Factory Manager is a programming language for moving stuff around. Instead of a flowchart GUI, you write a script and the manager runs it. To get going you need a Factory Manager, a Factory Manager Program Disk and a Label Gun. Inventory Cable is optional, but you'll want it to link your inventories to the manager.[1][3]
Factory Manager
The Factory Manager is the block that runs your script, so it comes first. You place it in the world and connect it to your inventories.[1]
Program Disk
The Factory Manager Program Disk goes inside the manager's GUI and holds your script and its labels. You can also right-click a disk in your hand to edit it outside of a manager.[1][3][4]

Setting up your first program
- Place the Factory Manager and connect it to your inventories with Inventory Cables.[1]
- Open the manager's GUI and put the Program Disk inside.[1]
- Paste your script into the GUI with the buttons or Ctrl+V. The manager tells you when the script has loaded.[1][4]
- Hover over the disk to see warnings and errors for your program.[1]
- Shift-right-click the manager with the Label Gun in your hand to load the labels from your program.[1]
- Hold Shift and use the scroll wheel to change the active label, then right-click blocks in the world to apply or remove it.[1]
- Right-click the manager without holding Shift to save the labels to the Program Disk. Your program should then be running.[1]
How does Super Factory Manager work?
7 parts
Super Factory Manager 4 moves your items around with a scripting language instead of the old flowchart GUIs. You write a program, store it on a disk, and a manager runs it against the inventories it can reach through cables.[1]
Getting a network running
The basic kit is a Factory Manager, a Factory Manager Program Disk, a Label Gun and, optionally, Inventory Cable to link everything up.[1][3]
- Place the Factory Manager in the world and connect it to your inventories with Inventory Cables.[1]
- Put the Program Disk inside the manager's GUI.[1]
- Paste your script into the manager GUI with the buttons or with Ctrl+V. The manager tells you when the script has loaded.[1][4]
- Hover over the disk to see the warnings and errors for your program.[1]
- Shift-right-click the manager with the label gun in your hand to load the labels from your program.[1]
- Hold shift and use the scroll wheel to change the active label, then right-click blocks in the world to apply or remove it.[1]
- Right-click the manager while NOT holding shift to save the labels to the Program Disk.[1]
Working with the manager and disks
You can right-click a disk in your hand to edit it outside of a manager. Inside the manager GUI, Ctrl+Shift+E opens examples. The warning button copies your code along with its warnings and errors, and shift-clicking it attempts to fix the warnings. In the text editor, Shift+Enter submits.[4]

Labels and the Label Gun
The label gun can do more than apply labels. You can pick the active label from a block, clear labels from a block, and push labels to or pull them from a manager. You can even label a Factory Manager itself. Holding the contiguous modifier applies changes to contiguous blocks touching cables, which saves a lot of clicking on big networks.[4]
This pack leaves the label gun reminder overlay turned on in showLabelGunReminderOverlay.[5]
Cables
Cables are how a manager reaches your inventories. Fancy Inventory Cable is a variant you can swap to and from the normal cable with shapeless crafting, and Tough Inventory Cable converts back the same way.[3]
- Tough Inventory Cable resists explosions and can be facaded as tougher blocks.[3][4]
- Tunnelled Inventory Cable passes capabilities through to the opposite side. Tunnelled Factory Manager does the same.[3][4]
- Tunnelled cables are made from a cable and a fence, and the Tunnelled Factory Manager can be crafted back into a plain Factory Manager.[3]

Network Tool
The Network Tool shows cables through walls while you hold it. Right-click a block face to see diagnostic info.[3][4]
It also sets facades. Put the tool in your off-hand with the block in your main hand and right-click a cable. Ctrl-click facades contiguously, Alt-click facades matching blocks across the network, and Ctrl-Alt-click facades the entire network. You can also attune the tool to a position by holding the attune key and right-clicking a block.[4]
The pack changes this recipe from the mod's version, so use the one shown here. The overlay reminder is enabled in showNetworkToolReminderOverlay.[3][5]

Server limits in this pack
Program execution is on, because disableProgramExecution is false. That option exists as an emergency switch to stop managers from compiling and running code. disallowedResourceTypesForTransfer is empty, so no resource types are blocked from transfer. logResourceLossToConsole is true.[6]
- timerTriggerMinimumIntervalInTicks is 20 ticks, the same as the mod default.[6]
- timerTriggerMinimumIntervalInTicksWhenOnlyForgeEnergyIOStatementsPresent is 1 tick, also the mod default.[6]
- maxDiskProblems is 10, the number of problems annotated on a disk before truncation.[6]
- maxIfStatementsInTriggerBeforeSimulationIsntAllowed is 10. The number of scenarios checked is 2^n, where n is the number of if statements in a trigger.[6]
How do you progress through Super Factory Manager?
4 parts
This section follows the in-pack recipes. Progression is less a ladder of tiers and more a set of upgrades layered on one base item, the Inventory Cable. Here's the order I'd go in.[3]
The base cable
Everything starts with the Inventory Cable. The pack adds its own recipe for it, and that recipe uses a Matter Network Pipe, so the cable is tied into another mod's progression here. This is a pack addition, not a mod default.[3]

Cable variants
From the base cable you can branch into fancy, tough and tunnelled variants. The Fancy Inventory Cable is a simple shapeless conversion, and you can convert it back whenever you like.[3]
The Tough Inventory Cable comes in a plain version and a fancy version, the Tough Fancy Inventory Cable. Both can be turned back into their non-tough form.[3]

How does Super Factory Manager work with other mods?
2 parts
The recipes the pack adds are the only link between Super Factory Manager and other mods that the sources confirm. No quests in this pack involve the mod.[3]
Inventory Cable
The pack adds a shaped recipe for the Inventory Cable that uses a Matter Network Pipe, Deepslate and any item from the plastics tag. Cables are optional in SFM, but they are how you connect a Factory Manager to your inventories, so this recipe ties your SFM setup to the pipe item from the Replication side of the pack.[1][3]

Factory Manager
The pack also adds a Custom Machinery recipe that involves the Factory Manager. Its inputs are an Energy Processor, an Processing Unit, an Inventory Cable and the Factory Manager itself, so it pulls in items from Applied Flux and Oritech.[3]

Which Super Factory Manager config options matter?
2 parts
Super Factory Manager splits its settings between a server file and a client file. disableProgramExecution lives in the server file, and the reminder overlays live in the client file. Here is exactly how this pack sets the options you are most likely to touch.[5][6]
Every server option that lists a mod default in the pack's config is set to that default. The sources show no changed values for those options.[6]
Server options (sfm-server.toml)
- disableProgramExecution is false in this pack. It is an emergency switch that stops factory managers from compiling and running code, so with false your programs run normally.[6]
- timerTriggerMinimumIntervalInTicks is 20, which is also the mod default.[6]
- timerTriggerMinimumIntervalInTicksWhenOnlyForgeEnergyIOStatementsPresent is 1, which is also the mod default.[6]
- maxIfStatementsInTriggerBeforeSimulationIsntAllowed is 10, the mod default. The number of scenarios to check is 2^n, where n is the number of if statements in a trigger.[6]
- maxDiskProblems is 10, the mod default. It is the maximum number of problems annotated on a disk item before the list is truncated.[6]
- levelsToShards is set to "JustOne", so an Enchanted Book always produces 1 experience shard regardless of its enchantments. The other allowed values are EachOne (1 shard per enchantment), SumLevels (shards equal to the sum of the enchantment levels) and SumLevelsScaledExponentially (the sum of 2 to the power of each enchantment's level).[6]
- disallowedResourceTypesForTransfer is an empty list, so the pack blocks no resource types from being moved by SFM.[6]
- logResourceLossToConsole is true, so resource loss is logged to the console.[6]
Client options (sfm-client.toml)
- showLabelGunReminderOverlay is true, so the label gun reminder overlay is shown.[5]
- showNetworkToolReminderOverlay is true, so the network tool reminder overlay is shown.[5]
