Super Factory Manager is a mod in All the Mods 10 8.3, where it is version 4.34.0. A programming language for moving stuff around in Minecraft (Summary from the mod's Modrinth page.)

What is Super Factory Manager?

3 parts

Super Factory Manager (SFM) is a mod for moving stuff around your base with a programming language. You write a script that says what should move and where, and a Factory Manager block runs it for you. If you like automation and don't mind typing a few lines, this is for you.[1]

The pack ships version 4.34.0 for Minecraft 1.21.1. That's SFM 4, which replaced the old flowchart-style GUIs with a scripting language.[1][2]

What you need to get started

  • A Factory Manager, which is the block that runs your program.[1]
  • A Program Disk, which holds your script and your label assignments.[1]
  • A Label Gun, which you use to tag the inventories your script refers to.[1]
  • Optionally, Inventory Cables to connect the manager to your inventories.[1]

How setup works

  1. Place the Factory Manager and connect it to your inventories with Inventory Cables.[1]
  2. Put the Program Disk in the manager's GUI, then paste your script in with the GUI buttons or Ctrl+V. The manager tells you when the script has loaded.[1]
  3. Hover over the disk to see any warnings and errors in your program.[1]
  4. Shift-right-click the manager with the Label Gun to load the labels from your program.[1]
  5. Hold shift and scroll to change the active label, then right-click blocks in the world to apply or remove it. The right-click menu also lets you enter a custom label that isn't in your program yet.[1]
  6. Right-click the manager without holding shift to save the labels to the Program Disk. Your program should then be running.[1]
Tip: If something doesn't run, hover over the Program Disk first. It lists the warnings and errors for your script.[1]

Where it fits in progression

Unverified Nothing in the available sources places this mod in the pack's progression. It is not on the ATM Star path, and no quests in this pack involve it, so treat it as an optional automation tool you can pick up whenever you want it.

How do you get started with Super Factory Manager?

3 parts

Super Factory Manager lets you move items and other resources around with a small script instead of a flowchart GUI. You write the program, put it on a disk, and a manager block runs it against your connected inventories. Here is what to craft first and why.[1]

What to craft, in order

Start with the Inventory Cable. Cables are how a manager reaches your chests and machines. The manager recipe builds on the cable, so make cables first.[1][3]

Then craft the Factory Manager Program Disk. It stores your script and, later, your labels. The pack changed this recipe, so check the one below and don't rely on what you remember from other modpacks.[1][3]

Your first setup

  1. Place the Factory Manager and connect it to your inventories with Inventory Cables.[1]
  2. Open the manager and put the Program Disk inside.[1]
  3. Paste your script into the manager GUI with the buttons or Ctrl+V. The manager tells you when the script has loaded.[1][4]
  4. Hover over the disk to read the warnings and errors for your program.[1]
  5. Shift-right-click the manager with the Label Gun in hand to load the labels from your program.[1]
  6. Hold Shift and scroll to change the active label, then right-click blocks in the world to apply or remove it.[1]
  7. Right-click the manager without holding Shift to save the labels to the disk. After that, your program should be running.[1]
Tip: If you can't see your script's examples, press Ctrl+Shift+E in the manager GUI to view them. You can also right-click a disk in your hand to edit it outside a manager.[4]

Useful extras once it works

The Network Tool shows your cables through walls while you hold it, and right-clicking a block face gives you diagnostic info. That makes it very handy for working out why a program isn't doing what you expect. The pack changed its recipe too.[3][4]

When you want tidier or sturdier networks, there are cable variants. The Tough Inventory Cable resists explosions, and the Tunnelled Inventory Cable passes capabilities through to the opposite side. The Fancy Inventory Cable is a cosmetic variant that you craft from a plain cable.[3][4]

How does Super Factory Manager work?

6 parts

Super Factory Manager (SFM) moves items and other resources around your base with a script instead of a flowchart GUI. You write a program, store it on a disk, and a Factory Manager runs it against the inventories it can reach through cables. Everything below is how those pieces fit together in this pack.[1]

Getting a program running

You need a Factory Manager, a Factory Manager Program Disk and a Label Gun. Inventory Cable is optional but is how you connect the manager to your inventories. Here is the basic flow:[1][3]

  1. Place the manager in the world and connect it to your inventories with Inventory Cables.[1]
  2. Put the Program Disk inside the manager's GUI.[1]
  3. Paste your script into the manager GUI with the buttons or Ctrl+V. The manager tells you when the script has loaded.[1][4]
  4. Hover over the disk to see the warnings and errors for your program.[1]
  5. Shift-right-click the manager with the Label Gun in hand to load the labels from your program.[1]
  6. Hold shift and use the scroll wheel to change the active label, then right-click blocks in the world to apply or remove it. A right-click menu also lets you enter a custom label that isn't in your program yet.[1]
  7. Right-click the manager without holding shift to save the labels to the Program Disk. Your program should now be running.[1]
Tip: If your labels seem to do nothing, check that you pushed them. The mod itself reminds you to push your labels using the Label Gun, and the Label Gun can also pull labels from a manager or push them to one.[4]

Working with the manager GUI and disk

The manager GUI has a few helpers worth knowing. Ctrl+Shift+E opens example programs. The warning button copies your code along with its warnings and errors, and shift-clicking it attempts to fix the warnings. You can also right-click a disk in your hand to edit it outside a manager.[4]

Watch out: The reset button wipes ALL disk data, so copy your script somewhere safe first.[4]

The pack changed the disk recipe, so don't rely on what you remember from the base mod.[3]

Labels and the Label Gun

Labels are how your script knows which blocks to act on. The Label Gun can toggle the active label on a block, pick the active label from a block, and clear labels from a block. Holding the contiguous modifier applies changes to contiguous blocks touching cables. You can also label a Factory Manager itself, and the gun has its own GUI, opened by using it on the air. Its tooltip lists the exact keys, which depend on your keybinds.[4]

Cables and networks

Cables connect the manager to your inventories. You can convert Fancy Inventory Cable to and from the plain cable in the crafting grid.[1][3]

It also sets facades on cables. Put the tool in your off-hand with a block in your main hand and right-click a cable. Ctrl-click facades contiguously, Alt-click facades the matching block across the network, and Ctrl-alt-click facades the entire network. You can hold the attune key and right-click a block to attune the tool to that position.[4]

Other SFM blocks

The Water Tank needs two adjacent water sources. It works better when it is also next to other active water tanks.[3][4]

The Printing Press needs an air gap below a downward-facing piston. You use it by extending the piston.[3][4]

How do you progress through Super Factory Manager?

5 parts

Super Factory Manager has no tier system of its own that the sources lay out, so this page walks through it as a sensible build order, using the in-pack recipes. Each stage below builds on the one before it.[3]

Unverified The sources here show no quests for this mod and no place for it on the quest path, so the order below follows the crafting recipes only. If the pack's quest book covers it, that is where you would see it.

The core setup

Everything starts with the Inventory Cable, which links your inventories together. The Factory Manager is the block that runs the system, and the cable is part of its recipe, so make cables first.[3]

Which All the Mods 10 quests use Super Factory Manager?

2 parts

Super Factory Manager only shows up in one quest, and it's a tip rather than a questline. You'll find it in the "Tips and Tricks" chapter, which has 23 quests in total.[5]

Disenchanting Methods

The quest "Disenchanting Methods" quest is about the many ways to pull enchantments off items and onto books. Super Factory Manager is the first method it lists, and the quest calls it one of the cheapest ways to disenchant your gear, with no experience cost at all.[5]

The quest describes it like this: you drop the enchanted item and a bunch of books on a block of obsidian, then make a falling Anvil land on top of the item and the books. The quest text doesn't go into how the mod itself is set up for this, so I can't tell you more than that here.[5]

The quest also covers other methods, such as the Disenchanting Table, the Draconic Evolution Disenchanter, Apothic Enchanting tomes and the Industrial Foregoing Enchantment Extractor. You can complete it by handing in any one of the items it accepts, and the anvil is one of them.[5]

Where it sits in the chapter

This quest has no prerequisite in the chapter, so you can do it whenever you like. It is one of the tips that the final quest, a quest in "Tips and Tricks", lists as coming before it. That last quest is a simple checkmark called "Complete all the tips!", so finishing Disenchanting Methods counts towards wrapping up the whole chapter.[5]
