What is Super Factory Manager?
3 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 2.12 guide
Super Factory Manager is a mod for moving stuff around in Minecraft, and it does that with a programming language. You write a script that describes what should move and where, and the mod runs it for you. Version 4 of the mod replaced the old flowchart-style GUIs with this scripting language.[1]
This pack includes Super Factory Manager 4.19.0 for Minecraft 1.21.1. It has been in the pack since version 0.32 or earlier, so it is a long-standing part of the modpack.[2]
Who it is for
It suits you if you want to automate item movement between inventories and are happy to write or paste a short script instead of wiring up pipes. The project page describes it as a scripting approach, so some trial and error is part of the fun.[1]
What you need to get started
- A Factory Manager, which is the block that runs your program.[1]
- A Program Disk, which goes inside the Manager's GUI and holds your script.[1]
- A Label Gun, which you use to tag the blocks your script refers to.[1]
- Optionally, Inventory Cables to connect the Manager to your inventories.[1]
The basic flow is to place the manager, connect your inventories, put the disk in, and paste in your script. Then you load the labels from the script with the label gun, apply them to your blocks, and save them to the disk.[1]
Where it fits in progression
Unverified The sources I was given do not show any quests, ATM Star path steps or in-jar guidebook entries for this mod, so I can't say where it sits in the pack's progression. Treat it as an optional automation tool that you bring in whenever you want it.
How do you get started with Super Factory Manager?
2 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.0.4 guide
Super Factory Manager is a programming language for moving stuff around in Minecraft. You write a script, store it on a disk, and a manager block runs it. So your first crafts are the manager, the disk that holds your program, and the tool that tells the manager which blocks are which.[1]
What to craft, in order
Start with Inventory Cable. They connect your manager to your inventories, and one craft makes 16 of them.[1][3]

Next, the Factory Manager. This is the block you place in the world, and it is where your script lives.[1]

Then the Factory Manager Program Disk. You put it in the manager's GUI to hold your program. This pack changes this recipe from the mod's own, so go by the recipe below.[1][3]

Last of the essentials is the Label Gun. You use it to load the labels from your program and apply them to blocks in the world.[1]

The Network Tool is also craftable, and the pack changes its recipe too. The basic setup below doesn't call for it.[1][3]

Your first setup
- Place the Factory Manager and connect it to your inventories with Inventory Cables.[1]
- Put the Program Disk inside the manager's GUI.[1]
- Paste your script into the manager GUI with the buttons or with Ctrl+V. The manager tells you when the script has loaded.[1]
- Hover over the disk to see any warnings and errors in your program.[1]
- Shift-right-click the manager with the Label Gun in your hand to load the labels from your program.[1]
- Hold shift and use the scroll wheel to change the active label, then right-click blocks in the world to apply or remove it.[1]
- Right-click the manager without holding shift to save the labels to the Program Disk. Your program should then be running.[1]
How does Super Factory Manager work?
7 parts
Super Factory Manager (SFM) moves items and other resources around by running a script, not by a flowchart GUI. You write a program, put it on a disk inside a manager, and tell the manager which blocks are which with labels. That is the whole loop, and this section walks through how each piece fits.[1]
The basic setup
You need a Factory Manager, a Factory Manager Program Disk and a Label Gun. Inventory cables are optional but are how you connect the manager to your inventories.[1]
- Place the manager in the world and connect it to your inventories with Inventory Cable.[1]
- Put the program disk inside the manager's GUI.[1]
- Paste your script into the manager GUI with the buttons or with Ctrl+V. The manager tells you the script was loaded.[1]
- Hover over the disk to see the warnings and errors for your program.[1]
- Shift-right-click the manager with the label gun in your hand to load the labels from your program.[1]
- Hold shift and use the scroll wheel to change the active label, then right-click blocks in the world to apply or remove it. A right-click menu also lets you enter a custom label that is not in your program yet.[1]
- Right-click the manager while NOT holding shift to save the labels to the disk. Your program should then be running.[1]

The pack changed this recipe, so it can differ from the mod default.
Reading the manager screen
The manager GUI shows a state: running, missing disk, no program or invalid program. If something is off, that line is the first place to look.[4]
The screen also has buttons to copy to and paste from the clipboard, view examples (Ctrl+Shift+E), view logs, view the server config and rebuild the cable network. It shows hovered and peak tick times too. Be careful with Reset: it wipes the program and the labels on the disk.[4]
The log screen lets you change the log level. Trace, debug and info levels turn off after a single program execution, and logging can make statements take longer to run. The logs can also report that no adjacent cable was found for a block.[4]
Labels and the Label Gun
The label gun can push labels to a manager or pull them from a manager. Holding the label gun pull modifier key pulls, and releasing it pushes. The gun also reports when it skipped blocks that are not touching cables. Its screen lets you search for or enter a label, clear labels and prune them. Removing a label from many blocks asks you to confirm first.[4]
Cables
The basic Inventory Cable connects the manager to your inventories. Fancy Inventory Cable is a variant you can craft from it and turn back again. Cables can also carry facades, which change how they look. The game asks you to confirm before it overwrites or clears facade states.[4][5]

- Tough Inventory Cable resists explosions and can be facaded as tougher blocks. A fancy version, Tough Fancy Inventory Cable, also exists.[4][5]
- Tunnelled Inventory Cable passes capabilities through to the opposite side. A fancy version, Tunnelled Fancy Inventory Cable, also exists.[4][5]
- Tunnelled Factory Manager also passes capabilities through to the opposite side. You craft it from a regular manager, and you can uncraft it back into one.[4][5]

If your cable network ever seems out of sync, use the rebuild button on the manager screen. If the rebuild fails, SFM purges all cable networks instead.[4]
Checking what a block exposes
SFM has a container inspector overlay that shows container slot counts and inventory slot counts. It warns that GUI slots don't always correspond to automation slots, so don't assume the slot order you see in a chest-style GUI is what your program will address. It also warns that Mekanism blocks are read-only from the null direction.[4]
Other machines
The Printing Press has to be placed with an air gap below a downward-facing piston. You extend the piston to use it. The mod also has a block tag for anvil printing press forming, and it contains iron blocks and copper blocks. A separate tag for anvil disenchanting contains obsidian and crying obsidian.[4][6][7]

How do you progress through Super Factory Manager?
3 parts
Super Factory Manager is a crafting chain in this pack, so you move through it by crafting the cable first, then the manager, then the cable variants. Everything below follows the in-pack recipes in the order you will usually need them.[5]
Cable and Factory Manager
Everything starts with the Inventory Cable. The recipe for the Factory Manager uses that cable, so make the cable first.[5]

Cable upgrades
Cables come in several variants, and each one is made from the basic cable. The Fancy Inventory Cable is a shapeless conversion of the basic cable, and a second shapeless recipe turns it back, so nothing is lost if you change your mind.[5]
The Tough Inventory Cable is crafted from the basic cable, and a shapeless recipe converts it back. The Tough Fancy Inventory Cable is the tough version of the fancy cable and converts back to the fancy cable.[5]

The Tunnelled Inventory Cable, Tunnelled Fancy Inventory Cable and Tunnelled Factory Manager are further variants, and the recipes for the tunnelled cable and the tunnelled manager are shown below. A shapeless recipe turns the tunnelled manager back into a regular Factory Manager.[5]

Cables placed as facades drop the matching cable item when broken, so you get the cable back and can reuse it.[8][9][10][11][12][13]
