What is Oritech?
1 part
Same as in the FTB StoneBlock 4 1.21.0 guide
Oritech is a technology mod built around animated multiblock machines, with upgrades added through addon blocks. This pack ships version 1.2.12. Content covers processing machines, world-interaction machines, logistics, equipment and more.[1][2]
- Multiple ore processing chains and variants, plus automated farming machines.[1]
- Electric tools and armor, and item, fluid and energy pipes (one pipe tier per type).[1]
- Drones that move items over long distances, and lasers that mine blocks automatically.[1]
- Cybernetic player augmentation and particle accelerators.[1]
- Energy generation that ranges from burning fossil fuels to sustainable biofuel farms.[1]
The mod aims to give you several ways to get the same thing, so you rarely get stuck waiting on one rare item. It also aims to make most things renewable, but that takes large bases and processing chains. If you like building big automated setups, this mod is for you.[1]
Where it fits in this pack
The pack has a dedicated Oritech quest chapter. It starts with a machine core and the Motor in a quest in "?". From there it branches into the Foundry, Powered Furnace, Pulverizer, Assembler and Centrifuge.[3]
The Foundry leads to the Machine Addon Extender, which opens the addon quests, such as the Speed Addon and Yield Addon. The Assembler leads to the Enderic Laser, then to Fluxite and the Flux Gate. After that come the Atomic Forge and Fragment Forge. The Atomic Forge in turn leads to the Particle Accelerator and Prometheum.[3]
Power has its own quest chapter. It starts with the Basic Generator, Fuel Generator, Portable Energy Storage, Large Energy Storage and Nuclear Reactor Controller. The Basic Generator leads to the Lava Generator, Steam Engine and Bio Generator. The reactor quests cover rods, fuel ports, walls, heat handling and energy ports.[4]
Unverified No in-jar guidebook was found for this mod, and the sources do not show Oritech on the ATM Star quest path.
How do you get started with Oritech?
5 parts
Oritech is a tech mod built around animated multiblock machines that you upgrade with addon blocks. In this pack the oritech quest chapter gives you a clear path through it, so follow the quests in order.[1][5]
Step 1: a Machine Core and a Motor
The first quest in the chapter, a quest in "?", asks for any machine core plus a Motor. Every other processing machine quest unlocks after it. Start with the Primitive Machine Core.[5]

How does Oritech work?
4 parts
Oritech machines are mostly animated multiblocks, and upgrades are implemented using addon blocks. The sources for this pack are thin on exact numbers, so this section covers the design rules and the parts you can craft, not machine stats.[1]
Machines and addons
Addons that exist in the pack include Acceptor Addon, Burst Addon, Capacitor Addon, Efficiency Addon, Fluid Addon, Hunter Addon, Inventory Proxy Addon and Crop Filter Addon. The sources here do not say what each one does, but the recipe blocks below show how some of them are made.[6]

The mod has a config option that decides whether addon bonuses are added additively or multiplicatively.[8]
Unverified Which of the two stacking modes this pack uses is set in the Oritech config, and the sources here do not show that config, so the value is unverified.
Pipes and logistics
Oritech has item, fluid and energy pipes, and there is only 1 pipe tier for each type. The recipe dump lists the Opaque Item Pipe (shown as Opaque Item Pipe) and the Fluid Pipe.[1][6]
The mod is built with performance in mind. Pipe blocks only have entities where needed, for example when they connect to machines. All networks are cached, and network updates are only sent when needed.[1]
For long distances the mod also offers drones that transport items across vast distances. The Energy Transmission Pole (Energy Transmission Pole) is a crafted part for moving power.[1][6]

How do you progress through Oritech?
6 parts
Oritech progression in this pack is guided by quests, and the main chapter is a tree. Everything starts with a Machine Core and a Motor, then branches into basic machines, addons, the Assembler and finally the Atomic Forge and Particle Accelerator. Power and the reactor sit in their own chapter, and several Oritech items also show up as milestones in the World Engine tier chapters.[5][7][10][11][12]
Step 1: Machine Cores and the Motor
The first quest in the Oritech chapter, a quest in "?", wants any Machine Core, from the Primitive Machine Core up to the Ultimate Machine Core, plus a Motor. The rest of that chapter branches from this quest.[5]
The pack changed several core recipes. The Basic, Improved, Elite and Ultra cores (Basic Machine Core, Improved Machine Core, Elite Machine Core, Ultra Machine Core) all use pack-modified recipes, while the Primitive and Advanced cores use the mod's own recipes.[6]

Step 2: Basic machines and addons
Once the core quest is done, five quests open up in parallel:[5]
- Foundry (a quest in "?")[5]
- Powered Furnace (a quest in "?")[5]
- Pulverizer (a quest in "?")[5]
- Assembler (a quest in "?")[5]
- Centrifuge together with the Fluid Addon (a quest in "?")[5]
The Foundry quest leads to the Machine Addon Extender (a quest in "?"). After that, the addon quests all open: Control Unit, Acceptor, Capacitor, Speed, Efficiency, Yield, Quarry and Hunter. The Acceptor, Capacitor, Speed and Efficiency quests also accept higher-tier addon blocks, from tier 2 up to tier 9, which come from the oritechthings namespace.[5]
- Control Unit Addon, Acceptor Addon, Capacitor Addon[5]
- Speed Addon, Efficiency Addon, Yield Addon[5]
- Quarry Addon and Hunter Addon[5]
Step 3: Assembler, Fluxite and the Atomic Forge
The Assembler quest leads to a quest in "?", which asks for the Enderic Lens, the Enderic Laser and the Target Designator. The next quest, a quest in "?", needs Fluxite and a Flux Gate. The pack changed the Fluxite casting recipe that uses Productive Metalworks.[5][6]

The Particle Accelerator quest also asks for a block from the oritechthings namespace, accelerator_magnetic_field. Three more quests follow it: the Particle Accelerator Guide Ring, the Particle Accelerator Sensor and the Particle Accelerator Linear Motor.[5]
Power and the reactor
Power has its own quest chapter. The Basic Generator leads to the Lava Generator, the Bio Generator, and a quest asking for the Steam Boiler Addon plus the Steam Engine. The Fuel Generator, Portable Energy Storage and Large Energy Storage are standalone quests. The Schrödinger's Safe comes after the Large Energy Storage.[7]
The reactor starts at the Nuclear Reactor Controller. Its follow-up quests cover the Reactor Heat Vent with the Reactor Heat Pipe, the Reactor Wall, and the Reactor Heat Absorber with the Reactor Coolant Absorber Port. They also cover the Reactor Energy Port with the Reactor Redstone Port. Finally there is a fuel quest that wants a rod, a Reactor Fuel Port, a Reactor Neutron Reflector and a uranium or plutonium pellet.[7]
The pack adds its own recipe for the Reactor Fuel Port on top of the mod's recipe. The plutonium pellet recipes are also pack-modified.[6]

- Tools: the Prometheum Pickaxe and Prometheum Battleaxe, plus the Enderic Railgun.[14]
- Automation: the Pipe Wrench and any of the Opaque Item Pipe, Fluid Pipe or Energy Pipe.[9]
How does Oritech work with other mods?
4 parts
Oritech does not live in its own bubble in this pack. Most of the crossovers come from recipes the pack added or changed, so Oritech machines end up eating materials from FTB Materials, Mekanism, Productive Metalworks, Immersive Engineering and more. Here is where the links show up.[6]
Ore processing with FTB Materials and Mekanism
The pack builds an ore chain around Oritech machines. The Refinery turns raw materials into FTB Materials clumps using Sheol Fire. The Atomic Forge then turns those clumps into dirty dusts with Fluxite. The Centrifuge can also take Mekanism's Liquid Sulfuric Acid and turn clumps into dust, with Mineral Slurry as a byproduct. The recipes below show iron. The same pattern exists for aluminum, copper, gold, lead, nickel, osmium, platinum, silver, tin, uranium and zinc.[6]

Materials that cross over
- Adamant: Productive Metalworks can alloy molten diamond and molten nickel into Molten Adamant, and casting it gives an Adamant Ingot. Mekanism's metallurgic infuser can also make Adamant Dust and Biosteel Dust.[6]
- Carbon: Immersive Engineering's HOP Graphite Dust is the link to Oritech's Carbon Fibre Strands, and Productive Metalworks' Molten Carbon also feeds the pack's Oil recipe. The Centrifuge recipe is shown right after this list.[6]
- Plastic and fuel: the Centrifuge produces Industrial Foregoing's Plastic from Polymer Resin or Raw Biopolymer. It also turns Biofuel into Turbofuel. Going the other way, Immersive Engineering's refinery turns Heavy Oil into High-Cetane Biodiesel.[6]
- Electronics: the Atomic Forge makes the Silicon Wafer from AE2's Printed Silicon. The Advanced Computing Engine needs Advanced AE's Quantum Processor. The Centrifuge makes Enderic Compound from AE2's Ender Dust.[6]
- Batteries: the Centrifuge uses Mekanism's sulfuric acid to make the Basic Battery and the Advanced Battery.[6]
- Plutonium: the three Plutonium Pellet recipes in the Assembler all use FTB Materials' Plutonium Dust and a plastic plate.[6]

Late-game crossovers
- Avaritia's compressor has pack-added recipes that turn an Duratium Ingot and an Energite Ingot into singularities.[6]
- Draconic Evolution's Small Chaos Fragment and Mekanism's Antimatter Pellet are the outside items behind the Black Hole, which is then used in the XyCraft Void Container. Both recipes are shown after this list.[6]
- The ProjectE Black Hole Band uses Oritech's Enderic Compound alongside Powah's Ender Core.[6]
- Oritech parts such as machine cores, the Magnetic Coil, the Flux Gate, the Processing Unit and the Superconductor also appear in many World Engine custom-machine recipes. The recipe dump doesn't list what these recipes output.[6]

Quests that mix mods
The Oritech quest chapter pairs Oritech addons with items from the oritechthings namespace. Examples are a quest in "?" for acceptor addons and a quest in "?", which pairs the Particle Accelerator with an oritechthings item.[5]
The tier 5 World Engine chapter has the most mixed quests. a quest in "?" asks for the black hole block. a quest in "?" combines a custom machine, Oritech's carbon plating, reflector and vent, and items from other mods. a quest in "?" pairs an Occultism gem with Oritech's enchantment catalyst. a quest in "?" and a quest in "?" pair Avaritia's infinity block with the Oritech reactor reflector.[10]
Which FTB StoneBlock 4 quests use Oritech?
6 parts
Same as in the FTB StoneBlock 4 1.21.0 guide
Oritech shows up in quite a few chapters of the quest book. The main one is the oritech chapter. There are also Oritech quests in the power chapter, the gearing up chapter, the processing automation chapter, the bounty board chapter and the world engine chapters for tiers 3, 4 and 5. The quests have no titles in the pack files, so I'll point to them by quest ID.[3][4][15][16][17][18][19][20]
The oritech chapter
The chapter starts with a quest in "?". It asks for any one of the seven machine cores, from the Primitive Machine Core up to the Ultimate Machine Core, plus a Motor. It unlocks after a quest from outside this chapter.[3]
Once that's done, five quests open up in parallel, so you can take them in any order:[3]
- a quest in "?": the Foundry.[3]
- a quest in "?": the Powered Furnace.[3]
- a quest in "?": the Pulverizer.[3]
- a quest in "?": the Assembler.[3]
- a quest in "?": the Centrifuge and the Fluid Addon.[3]
Addon branch
The Foundry leads to a quest in "?", which wants the Machine Addon Extender. That opens a whole fan of addon quests: the Control Unit Addon (a quest in "?"), Yield Addon (a quest in "?"), Quarry Addon (a quest in "?") and Hunter Addon (a quest in "?").[3]
Four more addon quests ask for the base addon plus one higher-tier addon block, tier 2 through 9, from the oritechthings namespace. They cover the Acceptor Addon (a quest in "?"), Capacitor Addon (a quest in "?"), Speed Addon (a quest in "?") and Efficiency Addon (a quest in "?").[3]
Laser, forge and accelerator branch
The Assembler leads to a quest in "?", which asks for the Enderic Lens, the Enderic Laser and the Target Designator. Next comes a quest in "?" with Fluxite and a Flux Gate. That splits into the Atomic Forge (a quest in "?") and the Fragment Forge (a quest in "?").[3]
After the Atomic Forge you can get Prometheum (a quest in "?") and the Particle Accelerator (a quest in "?"), which also wants a magnetic field item from the oritechthings namespace. The controller then unlocks three quests for the Particle Accelerator Guide Ring (a quest in "?"), the Particle Accelerator Sensor (a quest in "?") and the Particle Accelerator Linear Motor (a quest in "?").[3]
The power chapter
Here the generators, storage and the reactor each have their own starting quests. Those are the Basic Generator (a quest in "?"), the Fuel Generator (a quest in "?"), the Portable Energy Storage (a quest in "?") and the Large Energy Storage (a quest in "?"). The Nuclear Reactor Controller (a quest in "?") starts the reactor line.[4]
- After the Basic Generator: the Lava Generator (a quest in "?"), the Bio Generator (a quest in "?"), and the Steam Boiler Addon with the Steam Engine (a quest in "?").[4]
- After the Large Energy Storage: the Schrödinger's Safe (a quest in "?").[4]
- After the Reactor Controller: a quest in "?" (a reactor rod, Reactor Fuel Port, Reactor Neutron Reflector and a uranium or plutonium pellet), a quest in "?" (Reactor Heat Vent and Reactor Heat Pipe), a quest in "?" (Reactor Heat Absorber and Reactor Coolant Absorber Port), a quest in "?" (Reactor Wall) and a quest in "?" (Reactor Energy Port and Reactor Redstone Port).[4]
Gear and logistics
The gearing up chapter has four Oritech quests with no prerequisites listed. a quest in "?" wants the Cybernetic Augmentation Center plus one of the three research stations. a quest in "?" asks for the full exo armor set: Exo Helmet, Exo Chestplate, Exo Leggings and Exo Boots. a quest in "?" wants the Prometheum Pickaxe and Prometheum Battleaxe, and a quest in "?" asks for the Enderic Railgun.[16]
In the processing automation chapter, a quest in "?" asks for the Pipe Wrench and one of the item, fluid or energy pipes.[19]
World engine tiers and bounty board
The world engine chapters reuse Oritech items in their later quests. In tier 3, a quest in "?" asks for the Assembler again, then a quest in "?" asks for the Enderic Laser, Target Designator and Flux Gate. Tier 4's a quest in "?" wants the Atomic Forge and Prometheum.[17][20]
Tier 5 is the heavy one. a quest in "?" asks for the Particle Accelerator, plutonium dust and a Small Plutonium Pellet. a quest in "?" mixes Oritech's Carbon Plating Block, Reactor Neutron Reflector and Reactor Heat Vent with items from other mods. a quest in "?" wants the Arcane Catalyst and leads to a quest in "?", the Soul Flowers. a quest in "?" asks for the Black Hole, and a quest in "?" and a quest in "?" each pair an Infinity Block with a Reactor Neutron Reflector.[15]
The bounty board chapter has one more Black Hole quest, a quest in "?", which comes after a quest in "?" and one other quest.[18]
