What is ExtraStorage?
2 parts
ExtraStorage is an addon for Refined Storage. If you already run a Refined Storage network, this mod gives you more room and faster automation without changing how the system works. This pack ships version 5.0.10.[1][2]
What it adds
- 4 upgraded Autocrafter tiers, each with faster crafting speeds and more pattern capacity.[1]
- Advanced Importers and Exporters with 18 filter slots, double the standard amount.[1]
- Larger storage for both items and fluids, including high-capacity Storage Disks, Storage Blocks and Fluid Storage Blocks.[1]
Where it fits in the pack
In the pack's quest book, ExtraStorage shows up in the logistics storage chapter. Its quests accept either Refined Storage's own parts or ExtraStorage's, so you can finish them with whichever you have.[3]
The item storage quest "Storing Items" quest takes the standard Refined Storage parts or ExtraStorage parts from the 256k Storage Part and 1024k Storage Part up through the 4096k Storage Part and 16384k Storage Part. It comes after an earlier quest in the same chapter.[3]
The fluid storage quest "Storing Fluids" quest works the same way. It accepts Refined Storage fluid parts or the ExtraStorage ones: 16384b Fluid Storage Part, 65536b Fluid Storage Part, 262144b Fluid Storage Part and 1048576b Fluid Storage Part. It follows the same earlier quest as the item one.[3]
The Neural Processor appears in the creative chapter. Quest "Creative Disk Interface" quest asks for it alongside an ultra disk interface from Cable Tiers and Quartz Enriched Iron, and it comes after another quest in that chapter.[4]
Unverified Whether the ATM Star path uses this mod is not shown by the quest sources here. Check the pack's quest book chapters in game for that.
How do you get started with ExtraStorage?
4 parts
ExtraStorage is an addon for Refined Storage. It adds bigger storage for items and fluids, plus Advanced Importers and Exporters. Its recipes are built from Refined Storage items, so your Refined Storage setup comes first. Here is what to make next, in order.[1][5]
Start with a 256k Storage Part
The 256k Storage Part is your entry point, the smallest ExtraStorage item part. The bigger item parts follow it in order: 1024k Storage Part, then 4096k Storage Part, then 16384k Storage Part.[3][5]

The storage quest "Storing Items" quest accepts any one of the Refined Storage item parts or these ExtraStorage ones, so the ExtraStorage parts count toward it.[3]
Turn the part into a disk or a block
From the part you can make a 256k Storage Disk or a 256k Storage Block. The disk has both a shapeless and a shaped recipe, so use whichever is easier for you.[5]

Fluids come later
ExtraStorage fluid storage starts at the 16384b Fluid Storage Part, shown below. The fluid storage quest "Storing Fluids" quest accepts either Refined Storage or ExtraStorage fluid parts. Higher fluid tiers follow the same pattern as items: 65536b Fluid Storage Part, 262144b Fluid Storage Part and 1048576b Fluid Storage Part.[3][5]

How does ExtraStorage work?
3 parts
ExtraStorage is an addon for Refined Storage, so everything here plugs into your normal Refined Storage network. It adds upgraded autocrafters, bigger importers and exporters, and larger storage disks for items and fluids.[1]
Crafters
The mod adds 4 upgraded autocrafter tiers. Each one crafts faster and holds more patterns than the last. The in-game tooltip shows how many pattern slots a crafter has, and you hold Shift for the full details.[1][6]
The pack sets a few server config options that control how these crafters behave. They live in config/extrastorage-server.toml.[7]
- crafters.base_energy is 15 in the pack, the same as the mod default. It is the minimum energy a crafter consumes, and it can be set anywhere from 1 to 1,000.[7]
- crafters.include_pattern_energy is true. That means the number of patterns inside a crafter counts toward its power consumption.[7]
- crafters.uniformly_distribute_processing is false. The config comment says a crafter's speed is limited by the number of available slots in the inventory it is connected to.[7]
Advanced Importers and Exporters
The Advanced Importer and Advanced Exporter are bigger versions of the standard Refined Storage blocks. They have 18 filter slots, double the standard amount. The advancement text calls the exporter "A much larger exporter!".[1][5][6]

Bigger storage disks
ExtraStorage adds high-capacity storage disks for items and for fluids. It also adds matching Storage Blocks and Fluid Storage Blocks.[1]
- Item disks: 256k Storage Disk, 1024k Storage Disk, 4096k Storage Disk and 16384k Storage Disk.[5]
- Fluid disks: 16384b Fluid Storage Disk, 65536b Fluid Storage Disk, 262144b Fluid Storage Disk and 1048576b Fluid Storage Disk.[5]
Every disk in this pack has both a shaped recipe and a shapeless recipe. The shapeless one combines a Storage Housing with the matching storage part. Here are both versions for the 1024k item disk. The other sizes follow the same pattern.[5]

How do you progress through ExtraStorage?
6 parts
ExtraStorage picks up where the Refined Storage tiers stop. In this pack its first item part is built from the 64k Storage Part from Refined Storage, and the first fluid part is built from the 4096B Fluid Storage Part. Every ExtraStorage tier comes as a part, a disk and a storage block.[5]
Item storage tiers
- First tier: 256k Storage Part, 256k Storage Disk and 256k Storage Block.[5]
- Second tier: 1024k Storage Part, 1024k Storage Disk and 1024k Storage Block.[5]
- Third tier: 4096k Storage Part, 4096k Storage Disk and 4096k Storage Block.[5]
- Top tier: 16384k Storage Part, 16384k Storage Disk and 16384k Storage Block.[5]
Fluid storage tiers
- First tier: 16384b Fluid Storage Part, 16384b Fluid Storage Disk and 16384b Fluid Storage Block.[5]
- Second tier: 65536b Fluid Storage Part, 65536b Fluid Storage Disk and 65536b Fluid Storage Block.[5]
- Third tier: 262144b Fluid Storage Part, 262144b Fluid Storage Disk and 262144b Fluid Storage Block.[5]
- Top tier: 1048576b Fluid Storage Part, 1048576b Fluid Storage Disk and 1048576b Fluid Storage Block.[5]
Climbing the tiers
The part is the key item at every tier. Each part recipe is built on the part from the tier below it, so you work up one step at a time. The 256k part starts from the Refined Storage 64k part, and the 1024k part uses a 256k part.[5]

What the quests ask for
The storage quests accept ExtraStorage parts, but they don't require them. "Storing Items" quest takes an item storage part: a Refined Storage part from 1k to 64k, or an ExtraStorage part from 256k up to 16384k.[3]
"Storing Fluids" quest works the same way for fluids. It accepts a Refined Storage fluid part from 64B to 4096B or an ExtraStorage fluid part from 16384b up to 1048576b.[3]
In the creative chapter, "Creative Disk Interface" quest lists the Neural Processor among its tasks, next to Ultra Disk Interface and Quartz Enriched Iron.[4]
How does ExtraStorage work with other mods?
4 parts
ExtraStorage is an addon for Refined Storage, so almost everything it adds is crafted from or upgraded with Refined Storage items. The pack also adds a few custom machine recipes that pull ExtraStorage into other mods.[1][5]
Refined Storage is the backbone
The Advanced Importer and Advanced Exporter are built from their Refined Storage counterparts, Importer and Exporter. On top of that you need an Improved Processor and a Redstone Torch. The advanced versions have 18 filter slots, double the standard.[1][5]

Storage parts follow the same pattern. They use Advanced Processor and Quartz Enriched Iron, plus a part from the tier below. The 256k item part builds on a Refined Storage 64k Storage Part, and the 16384b fluid part builds on a Refined Storage 4096B Fluid Storage Part. Higher tiers accept Refined Storage part tags, so any part in the right tier works.[5]

Upgrading your existing Refined Storage setup
ExtraStorage has its own upgrade recipe type for storage blocks and disks. It takes the matching ExtraStorage part together with Refined Storage blocks or disks of the lower tiers, such as the 64k Storage Disk and the 64k Storage Block. Fluid storage works the same way, using Refined Storage fluid blocks and disks.[5]

Pack-added recipes with other mods
The pack adds custom machine recipes that connect the Iron Autocrafter to other autocrafters. One uses an Autocrafter, an Advanced Processor and an Iron Block. The other uses the Cable Tiers Elite Autocrafter and any Refined Storage autocrafter.[5]

Quests that mix both mods
- Quest "Storing Items" quest in the storage chapter accepts any one of several item parts. They include Refined Storage parts as well as the ExtraStorage ones from 256k Storage Part up to 16384k Storage Part.[3]
- Quest "Storing Fluids" quest does the same for fluid parts, accepting Refined Storage fluid parts or ExtraStorage ones from 16384b Fluid Storage Part up to 1048576b Fluid Storage Part.[3]
- Quest "Creative Disk Interface" quest in the creative chapter asks for Ultra Disk Interface, Quartz Enriched Iron and the Neural Processor.[4]
Which FTB StoneBlock 4 quests use ExtraStorage?
2 parts
ExtraStorage appears in the logistics storage chapter and the creative chapter of the pack's quest book. The quests are untitled in the quest files, so they are identified by their IDs below.[3][4]
Logistics storage chapter
Here the mod's storage parts sit next to the Refined Storage ones. Both quests unlock after the same earlier quest, "Virtual Storage Drives" quest, so neither comes before the other and you can take them in whichever order you like.[3]
- "Storing Items" quest is the item storage part quest. Its task lists the Refined Storage parts (1k, 4k, 16k and 64k) alongside 256k Storage Part, 1024k Storage Part, 4096k Storage Part and 16384k Storage Part.[3]
- "Storing Fluids" quest is the fluid storage part quest. Its task lists the Refined Storage fluid parts (64b, 256b, 1024b and 4096b) alongside 16384b Fluid Storage Part, 65536b Fluid Storage Part, 262144b Fluid Storage Part and 1048576b Fluid Storage Part.[3]
In both quests the parts are joined by "or" in the task, so the ExtraStorage parts are listed as options alongside the Refined Storage ones.[3]
Creative chapter
"Creative Disk Interface" quest asks for these items: Ultra Disk Interface, Quartz Enriched Iron and Neural Processor. It unlocks after "Ascension Tier 1 - Ethereal" quest, which is separate from the quest that gates the storage chapter quests.[4]
Which ExtraStorage config options matter?
Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 guide
ExtraStorage keeps its settings in the server config file, and everything this pack sets there is about the crafter's energy use and how it handles processing. The list is short, so this is quick.[8]
- crafters.base_energy is set to 15 in this pack, the same as the mod default of 15, so the pack did not change it. It is the minimum level of energy the crafter consumes, and the allowed range is 1 to 1,000.[8]
- crafters.include_pattern_energy is set to true in this pack. With it on, the number of patterns in the crafter is included in its power consumption.[8]
- crafters.uniformly_distribute_processing is set to false in this pack. The config describes the crafter's speed as limited by the number of available slots in the inventory it is connected to, and this option is the one tied to that behavior.[8]
What changed in ExtraStorage between versions?
1 part
FTB StoneBlock 4 1.21.0 ships ExtraStorage 5.0.10. The mod was first included in the pack in version 1.1.1 or earlier, so it has been part of StoneBlock 4 for a while.[2]
The pack changelogs have no entries for this mod. The mod's own changelogs for the last few releases only list short commit titles, so they say what was touched but not exactly how the behaviour changed. Here is what they do tell you.[9][10][11][12]
Recent ExtraStorage releases
- 5.0.10 (the version in this pack): a single fix for issue 109.[2][9]
- 5.0.9: closes issue 108, adds package-info, and bumps the version.[10]
- 5.0.8: updates dependencies, fixes issue 106, updates the build config and mod metadata handling, and improves pattern deserialization.[11]
- 5.0.7: fixes issue 103 and closes issue 102, plus a version bump.[12]
Overall these are small maintenance releases: bug fixes and housekeeping rather than new content. Because the changelogs don't describe what each fix changed in game, check the mod's issue tracker if you need the details of a specific issue.[9][10][11][12]
