Stuck? Why it might not be working
- Apothic Attributes: 100 armour and you still get one-shotIn All the Mods 10 8.2 and five other packs, Apothic Attributes replaces the game's armour formula outright and armour no longer has a floor: at 100 armour you take 9% of a 10-damage hit and 67% of a 400-damage hit, where the old rule held you at 20% of anything. Armor Toughness stops reducing damage at all. Nothing in the game states the formula, and the one line about toughness reads as reassurance.Written for other versions than FTB Skies 2: Aero 1.13.0 ships. Some steps may no longer match.

What is Apothic Attributes?
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.2 guide
This pack ships Apothic Attributes 2.10.1, using the file ApothicAttributes-1.21.1-2.10.1.jar. It was first included in version 0.32 or earlier, so it has been part of the pack for a good while.[1]
Unverified No guidebook or platform description for Apothic Attributes was available when this guide was written, so what the mod adds in this pack is unconfirmed here. Check the other sections of this guide for any details that could be confirmed.
How do you get started with Apothic Attributes?
3 parts
Same as in the All the Mons 1.3.0 guide
This mod is about stats. It adds extra attributes on top of the vanilla ones, plus a few status effects. For this pack, I can't confirm a first item to craft or a quest that introduces it, so this section is a short tour of what you will see in-game.[2]
Stats worth learning first
- Crit Chance is the chance any damage you deal critically strikes. Crit Damage is the multiplier for those hits, and it includes vanilla jump crits.[2]
- Dodge Chance is the chance to dodge a melee attack or a projectile.[2]
- Life Steal heals you for a percentage of post-mitigation damage. Overheal turns a percentage of that damage into an absorption shield instead.[2]
- Mining Speed is how fast you mine blocks compared to normal, and Draw Speed is how fast you draw bows, crossbows or tridents.[2]
- Experience Gained is a multiplier on the experience you get from breaking blocks and killing mobs.[2]
Damage and armor stats
Fire Damage and Cold Damage add bonus magic damage to melee attacks. Fire burns the enemy, and cold slows them. Current HP Damage adds bonus physical damage based on the target's health.[2]
Armor Pierce is a flat reduction to the target's armor value, while Armor Shred is a percentage reduction. Prot Pierce and Prot Shred do the same to the target's protection point total. On the defensive side, Armor Toughness reduces the effectiveness of enemy armor reduction.[2]
Effects you may run into
Bleeding inflicts damage every two seconds. Sundering increases the damage the affected target receives. Flaming Detonation deals damage on expiry, based on the fire ticks remaining.[2]
The mod also has a button labelled Hide Unchanged Attributes. It's handy for cutting down the list of stats to the ones that differ from normal.[2]
Unverified No crafting recipes, quests or config options for this mod could be confirmed for this pack, so there is no verified first item to make.
How does Apothic Attributes work?
4 parts
Apothic Attributes doesn't add machines, multiblocks or anything you'd hook up to power, fluids or pipes. The sources only describe attributes, potion effects and enchantment limits, so that is what this section covers. Everything works on the character, not on a base.[3][4]
Unverified The sources do not describe any machines, multiblocks, power, fluid or item automation for this mod, and no recipes produce its items.
Attributes
The mod adds extra stats to your character and gives descriptions to the vanilla ones, and its screen has a button to hide unchanged attributes so you only see what your gear is actually modifying. These are the ones that shape combat.[3]
- Crit Chance is the chance that any damage you deal critically strikes. Crit Damage is the multiplier for those hits, and it includes vanilla jump crits.[3]
- Armor Pierce is a flat reduction to the target's armor value, while Armor Shred is a percentage reduction. Protection Pierce and Protection Shred do the same to the target's protection point total.[3]
- Fire Damage and Cold Damage add bonus magic damage on melee attacks. Fire burns the enemy, cold slows them.[3]
- Current HP Damage adds bonus physical damage on melee attacks, based on the target's health.[3]
- Life Steal heals you for a percentage of post-mitigation damage. Overheal turns a percentage of post-mitigation damage into an absorption shield instead.[3]
- Dodge Chance is your chance to dodge a melee attack or a projectile.[3]
- Healing Received is a multiplier on all incoming healing, and Experience Gained is a multiplier on experience from breaking blocks and killing mobs.[3]
For ranged builds, Arrow Damage multiplies arrow damage (tridents count as arrows), Arrow Velocity multiplies arrow speed, and arrow damage scales with that velocity. Draw Speed controls how fast you draw bows, crossbows and tridents, and Projectile Damage multiplies all outgoing projectiles.[3]
Mining Speed is how fast you mine compared to normal, and Cooldown Reduction shortens the cooldown of triggered abilities and effects.[3]
Flight attributes
Creative Flight lets you fly as if in Creative Mode, and Elytra Flight lets you fly as if wearing an Elytra.[3]
The pack has a script that cleans up old flight items. When you log in, it checks your Curios "stick" slot for a stick carrying either a creative flight or an Elytra Flight modifier. If it finds one, it removes those modifiers and swaps the stick for a gravity stick.[5]
Effects and potions
- Bleeding inflicts damage every two seconds.[3]
- Flaming Detonation inflicts damage on expiry, based on the remaining fire ticks.[3]
- Sundering increases the damage the target receives.[3]
- Potions, splash potions, lingering potions and tipped arrows exist for Flying, Healing Reduction, Ancient Knowledge, Sundering and Healing Boost. Healing Reduction is the Grievous Wounds effect and Healing Boost is Bursting Vitality.[3]
Enchantment limits
The enchantment settings live in config/apothic_attributes/enchantments.cfg. Each enchantment has a Max Level and a Max Loot Level, which is the highest level you can find from loot. It also has a Max Power Function and a Min Power Function. These are formulas where "x" is the level, and they are empty in the entries shown here, so nothing overrides the normal enchanting power.[4]
The pack changed one enchantment in this file. Endless Quiver goes from 1 to 9 for [[config:config/apothic_attributes/enchantments.cfg#apothic_enchanting:endless_quiver.Max Level]], and from 1 to 5 for [[config:config/apothic_attributes/enchantments.cfg#apothic_enchanting:endless_quiver.Max Loot Level]].[4]
Plenty of other enchantments sit well above their original levels, but those values are the mod's own config defaults, not pack changes. Nature's Blessing, for example, has a max level of 7 against an original 3, while its loot level stays at 3. Because the loot cap is lower than the max, you reach the top levels by upgrading rather than from loot alone.[4]
Two more config files exist for this mod in the pack: config/apothic_attributes/apothic_attributes.cfg and config/apothic_attributes/apothic_enchanting.cfg. Any setting not covered above would be set in one of those.[4]
Which Apothic Attributes config options matter?
3 parts
Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.23.0 guide
The config you will actually touch is enchantments.cfg. For each enchantment it has four options: Max Level, Max Loot Level, Max Power Function and Min Power Function. Each Max Level and Max Loot Level can be set anywhere from 1 to 127.[6]
What the pack changed
In the part of the file I could see, only one enchantment differs from the mod default: Endless Quiver. The pack raises its max level to 9 where the mod default is 1, and its loot level to 5, also up from 1.[6]
- [[config:config/apothic_attributes/enchantments.cfg#apothic_enchanting:endless_quiver.Max Level]]: 9 in the pack (mod default 1).[6]
- [[config:config/apothic_attributes/enchantments.cfg#apothic_enchanting:endless_quiver.Max Loot Level]]: 5 in the pack (mod default 1).[6]
Max Level versus Max Loot Level
Max Level is the highest level the enchantment can reach. Max Loot Level is the highest level you can find from loot sources. The two are often different, so the top levels are meant to be reached by other means than loot.[6]
The pack leaves these at the mod default for the rest of the entries I could see. Some examples: Sharpness is 9 with a loot level of 5, Efficiency is 9 and 5, Fortune is 8 and 3, and Feather Falling is 11 and 4. The file's own comments note the original levels, for example 3 for Icy Thorns and 5 for Sharpness, so the higher caps come from the mod.[6]
- [[config:config/apothic_attributes/enchantments.cfg#minecraft:sharpness.Max Level]]: 9, with [[config:config/apothic_attributes/enchantments.cfg#minecraft:sharpness.Max Loot Level]] at 5.[6]
- [[config:config/apothic_attributes/enchantments.cfg#minecraft:fortune.Max Level]]: 8, with [[config:config/apothic_attributes/enchantments.cfg#minecraft:fortune.Max Loot Level]] at 3.[6]
- [[config:config/apothic_attributes/enchantments.cfg#minecraft:feather_falling.Max Level]]: 11, with [[config:config/apothic_attributes/enchantments.cfg#minecraft:feather_falling.Max Loot Level]] at 4.[6]
- [[config:config/apothic_attributes/enchantments.cfg#apothic_enchanting:icy_thorns.Max Level]]: 5, with [[config:config/apothic_attributes/enchantments.cfg#apothic_enchanting:icy_thorns.Max Loot Level]] at 3.[6]
Single-level enchantments such as Mending and Silk Touch stay at 1 for both options. The file also covers enchantments from other mods, including Ars Nouveau, Ars Elemental and Farmer's Delight, using the same four options.[6]
Power functions
Max Power Function and Min Power Function let you set the enchanting power an enchantment needs, using a formula where x is the level. In every entry I could see, the pack leaves both blank, the same as the mod default.[6]
Unverified The file listing I had was cut off, with 32 more options not shown. Other settings live in config/apothic_attributes/apothic_attributes.cfg and config/apothic_attributes/apothic_enchanting.cfg, and I can't confirm their values here.
