What is Mystical Agradditions?

1 part

Mystical Agradditions is an add-on for Mystical Agriculture. Its headline feature is a tier 6 essence, Insanium Essence, along with tier 6 crops for high tier materials such as Nether Stars, Awakened Draconium and Neutronium. It also adds paxels (one tool that works as a pickaxe, axe and shovel), Tinkers' Construct integration, and Essence Coal, which can cook more items than regular coal.[1]

This pack ships version 8.0.14 of the mod. The mod's project page was last updated for version 7.0.2, so treat its crop list as a general description. The pack's quest book confirms Awakened Draconium, Nether Star and Dragon Egg seeds.[1][2][3]

Where it sits in the quest book

The mod has no chapter of its own. Its quests sit inside the Generating Resources chapter, in the Resources & Logistics group. That is chapter 8 of 31 in the book, and it has 99 quests. The chapter's intro quest says it covers the mods that help you farm millions of items.[3]

The text of 77 of the chapter's 99 quests is not covered here, so check the quest book for the rest of the chapter.[3]

Unverified Whether the ATM Star quest path uses this mod is not shown by the sources here. The quest book is where the pack's quest placement is set out.

How do you get started with Mystical Agradditions?

3 parts

Mystical Agradditions adds an extra tier on top of Mystical Agriculture, so your first steps happen in Mystical Agriculture. In the pack's quest book, this all sits in the "Generating Resources" chapter, in the "Resources & Logistics" group (chapter 8 of 31). Part of that chapter's text isn't shown here, so check the quest book for the rest.[1][3]

The order to work in

  1. Start with the quest "Mystical Agriculture" quest. You collect Inferium Essence by fishing, from mob drops or by mining the ore. Once you have at least 8, you can make your first Inferium Seed.[3]
  2. Next comes "Prosperity Shards" quest. Prosperity Shards come from Prosperity ore, and you need a lot of them for seeds, tools and armor. The pack's config has Nether and End Prosperity and Inferium ores turned on, so they generate in those dimensions too. The Infusion Crystal is one of the most important things you make with the shards: it upgrades 4 essences into the next tier, starting with Inferium.[3][4]
  3. Then do "Making Custom Seeds" quest. You need an Infusion Altar and 8 Infusion Pedestals, plus Prosperity Base Seeds for most resource seeds.[3]
  4. Climb the essence tiers. "Prudentium Essence" quest is Tier 2 and is worth 4 Inferium Essence. Keep going up to Supremium Essence, and the Agradditions tier follows from there.[3]
  5. Make Insanium Essence, the tier 6 essence this mod adds. It is the top tier for seed crafting and is worth 1,024 Inferium Essence.[3]

Why Insanium and cruxes come next

Tier 6 crops are special. They need a Crux placed directly below the farmland to grow, and they never drop a second seed when harvested. The quest book lists the crux quests right after "Insanium Essence" quest: a quest in "Generating Resources", "Nether Star Seeds" quest and "Dragon Egg Seeds" quest.[3][6]

The pack changed the recipes for the Nether Star Crux, the Dragon Egg Crux and the Awakened Draconium Crux, so don't rely on what you remember from the mod's defaults. Here are the in-pack versions.[5]

Tier 6 crops usually can't be grown using Mystical Fertilizer or Fertilized Essence. This pack's config sets General.fertilizableTier6Crops to true, so fertilizing them is allowed here.[4][6]

Farmland and gear

Insanium Farmland is one of the Essence Farmland tiers covered in "Understanding Essence Farmland" quest. Here is how you craft it.[3][5]

For tools, paxels combine a pickaxe, axe and shovel in one item. The quest a quest in "Generating Resources" says Inferium gear beats Diamond, and it lists Inferium Paxel among the tools it asks for, so that is a good early upgrade.[3][6]

How does Mystical Agradditions work?

7 parts

Mystical Agradditions has no machines, power or fluid networks of its own to wire up. It extends Mystical Agriculture with one more essence tier, Tier 6 crops, and some tools and food, so the mechanics here are about farming, crafting and a few drops from bosses.[1][6]

Insanium and Tier 6 crops

Insanium Essence is an extra tier of essence above Supremium, and it is what you use to create Tier 6 crops. Those crops have traits the lower tiers don't have, so read the next callout before you plant anything.[6]

Watch out: Tier 6 crops need a Crux below the farmland to grow, and they never drop a second seed when harvested. A Crux is a block you place under the crop.[6]

The book says Tier 6 crops usually can't be grown with Mystical Fertilizer or Fertilized Essence. This pack sets General.fertilizableTier6Crops to true, so in this pack they can be fertilized.[4][6]

Insanium Farmland is made by tilling dirt with Insanium Essence, using the farmland tilling recipe type from Mystical Agriculture.[5]

Cruxes

The mod has Cruxes for the Nether Star, Dragon Egg, Gaia Spirit, Awakened Draconium, Neutronium and Nitro Crystal crops. The pack changed the recipes for two of them, the Dragon Egg Crux and the Awakened Draconium Crux, so don't trust the mod's default recipes for these.[1][5][6]

The Dragon Egg Crux uses a Dragon Scale, which the Ender Dragon drops on death. This pack's config has the dragon dropping 8 scales, the same as the mod default (the allowed range is 0 to 64). You set it with General.dragonScalesAmount.[4][5][6]

Getting Insanium Essence and its materials

Besides crops, a Productive Bees centrifuge recipe (its id mentions insanium honeycomb) outputs Insanium Essence and Wax.[5]

From essence you can make the Insanium line of materials. Insanium Gemstone and Insanium Coal are crafted directly from essence, and Insanium Block is made by combining a Supremium Block with a Master Infusion Crystal.[5]

Molten metals and casting

The mod adds molten fluids for Inferium, Prudentium, Tertium, Imperium, Supremium and Soulium, each with its own bucket. In this pack, Productive Metalworks melting recipes turn Mystical Agriculture materials into them. One Imperium Block melts into 810 Molten Imperium, and any Inferium ore melts into 360 Molten Inferium.[5][6]

You can also cast the Imperium Apple from molten Imperium instead of crafting it by hand.[5]

Boss drops and ores

The Wither drops a Withering Soul on death. This pack uses a chance of 0.35, the same as the mod default, set by General.witheringSoulChance.[4][6]

Nether and End variants of the Prosperity and Inferium ores usually spawn at all Y levels in their dimension. All four generate in this pack. You can switch each one off with World.generateNetherInferiumOre, World.generateNetherProsperityOre, World.generateEndInferiumOre and World.generateEndProsperityOre.[4][6]

Creative Essence

The pack adds its own awakening recipe for Creative Essence. It needs 40 each of Insanium Ingots, Nether Star Shards, Dragon Egg Chunks and Mystical Fertilizer, plus an Awakened Supremium Ingot Block and 4 Cognizant Dust. See the recipe below for the exact in-pack inputs.[5][7]

Dragon Egg Chunk is crafted from Dragon Egg Essence. Nether Star Shard is also one possible drop (weight 3) from the pack's Quantum Goat event loot table.[5][8]

How do you progress through Mystical Agradditions?

4 parts

Mystical Agradditions builds on top of Mystical Agriculture, so the tier path starts there. In the pack's quest book it all lives in the Generating Resources chapter (group Resources & Logistics, chapter 8 of 31). You begin with "Mystical Agriculture" quest, which is marked Tier 1: collect at least 8 Inferium Essence and you can make your first seed.[3]

The essence ladder

Each essence quest follows the one before it, and the quest text tells you how much Inferium Essence each tier is worth:[3]

Tier 6: Insanium

The Insanium Essence quest comes right after Supremium Essence. Here is the in-pack recipe for Insanium Essence:[3][5]

Seeds made with Insanium need a Crux to grow. The Crux goes directly below the farmland. Three quests follow Insanium Essence, one for each Crux: a quest in "Generating Resources", "Nether Star Seeds" quest and "Dragon Egg Seeds" quest.[3]

The pack changes the recipes for the Awakened Draconium Crux, the Nether Star Crux and the Dragon Egg Crux. Use the recipes below, not what you remember from the mod's defaults.[5]

Gear and extras per tier

This mod adds a paxel for the Inferium, Prudentium, Tertium, Imperium and Supremium tiers, each crafted from that tier's axe, pickaxes and shovel. The a quest in "Generating Resources" quest accepts the Inferium Paxel as one of its items, and it unlocks after Prosperity Shards.[3][5]

At the top, the Awakened Supremium Paxel is an Awakening recipe that upgrades the Supremium Paxel. The Awakened Essence quest notes that Awakened gear provides more augment slots.[3][5]

Every essence tier from Inferium up to Insanium also has its own coal and apple recipes, for example Imperium Coal and Imperium Apple. Insanium has gemstone, ingot and block recipes too. The Inferium to Supremium apples can alternatively be cast from the matching molten fluid.[5]

Creative Essence

The pack adds its own Awakening recipe for Creative Essence, so it is an Awakening Altar craft. It draws on this mod's Insanium Ingot, Nether Star Shard and Dragon Egg Chunk items.[5][7]

How does Mystical Agradditions work with other mods?

6 parts

Mystical Agradditions is an add-on to Mystical Agriculture, so its tightest links are with that mod. After that, the pack ties it into a few other mods through melting, bees, farming automation and some pack-made recipes.[1][5]

Mystical Agriculture

Most of what this mod adds is built from Mystical Agriculture items. The apples, the essence coal and the paxels exist for each tier from Inferium up to Supremium, and each one uses the matching tier of Mystical Agriculture material or tools. Insanium, the tier 6 essence, is made from Supremium Essence.[1][5]

The quest book covers this in the Generating Resources chapter (group Resources & Logistics, chapter 8 of 31). "Insanium Essence" quest comes after the Supremium Essence quest and says Insanium is the max tier essence for seed crafting. After it come three seed quests: a quest in "Generating Resources", "Nether Star Seeds" quest and "Dragon Egg Seeds" quest.[3]

Tip: Seeds crafted with Insanium need a Crux to grow, placed directly below the farmland. The quest book also notes that 1 Insanium equals 1,024 Inferium Essence.[3]

Insanium Farmland is one of the farmlands covered in the Understanding Essence Farmland quest. The a quest in "Generating Resources" quest accepts Inferium Paxel as one of its tasks. Much of this chapter's text is not reproduced here, so check the quest book for the rest.[3]

Draconic Evolution

Awakened Draconium is one of the high tier resource crops this mod adds. Its Awakened Draconium Crux recipe was changed by the pack and uses Draconic Evolution items.[1][5]

Productive Metalworks

Productive Metalworks can melt Mystical Agriculture blocks and essences into this mod's molten fluids, and cast them back. The recipes exist for the Inferium, Prudentium, Tertium, Imperium and Supremium tiers. Melting a block gives 810 of the molten fluid, and melting an essence gives 90. Seeds can be cast from molten Inferium too.[5]

Which FTB Skies 2: Aero quests use Mystical Agradditions?

    2 parts

The quests that touch this mod all sit in one place: the "Generating Resources" chapter, which is chapter 8 of 31 in the quest book, in the group "Resources & Logistics". It's a big chapter with 99 quests covering lots of resource mods. The Mystical Agradditions quests are one branch of the Mystical Agriculture line.[3]

    The order to follow

    1. Start with "Mystical Agriculture" quest (Tier 1). It asks you to collect Inferium Essence and make your first Inferium Seed, which needs at least 8 essence.[3]
    2. Next comes "Prosperity Shards" quest, which follows the first quest. It covers Prosperity Shards and the Infusion Crystal, and most of the other Mystical Agriculture quests branch off from it.[3]
    3. a quest in "Generating Resources" also follows Prosperity Shards. It's about Inferium gear, and the task accepts any of several Inferium tools, with Inferium Paxel among them.[3]
    4. "Making Custom Seeds" quest follows Prosperity Shards too. It covers the Infusion Altar, its pedestals and Prosperity Base Seeds.[3]
    5. "Understanding Essence Farmland" quest comes after Making Custom Seeds. Its task accepts any tier of essence farmland, including Insanium Farmland.[3]
    6. The essence tiers then run in a line, each quest after the previous one: "Prudentium Essence" quest (Tier 2), "Tertium Essence" quest (Tier 3), "Imperium Essence" quest (Tier 4) and "Supremium Essence" quest (Tier 5).[3]
    7. "Insanium Essence" quest (Tier 6) follows Supremium Essence. It asks for Insanium Essence.[3]

    The Insanium quests

Insanium is the max tier essence for seed crafting, and 1 Insanium equals 1,024 Inferium Essence. Seeds crafted with it need a Crux to grow, and the Crux goes directly below the farmland.[3]

Tip: Remember the Crux placement when you build your Insanium farm: it sits directly below the farmland, not next to it.[3]

Three quests unlock once you finish Insanium Essence. Each asks for a seed and its matching Crux. a quest in "Generating Resources" has no title of its own in the book. It asks for the awakened draconium seeds and the Awakened Draconium Crux. "Nether Star Seeds" quest asks for the nether star seeds and the Nether Star Crux. "Dragon Egg Seeds" quest asks for the dragon egg seeds and the Dragon Egg Crux.[3]

The book gives these three quests no description text, so there are no extra hints in them beyond the items they ask for.[3]

Which Mystical Agradditions config options matter?

    3 parts

Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 guide

The mod's common config is short. In this pack, every value that lists a mod default sits exactly on that default, so the pack did not change any of them. Here is what each option does and how the pack sets it.[9]

    Drops and effects

    • General.dragonScalesAmount is the number of Dragon Scales an Ender Dragon drops when killed. The pack sets it to 8, the same as the mod default. The allowed range is 0 to 64.[9]
    • General.witheringSoulChance is the chance that a Wither drops a Withering Soul when killed. The pack uses 0.35, matching the mod default. Valid values run from 0.0 to 1.0.[9]
    • General.essenceAppleDuration sets how long each Essence Apple's effects last, in seconds. The pack uses 180, which is also the mod default. The value must be greater than 1.[9]

    Tier 6 crop fertilizing

General.fertilizableTier6Crops controls whether tier 6 crops can be fertilized using Mystical Fertilizer or Fertilized Essence. The pack has it set to true, so fertilizing tier 6 crops is allowed.[9]

    Ore generation

The World section has one toggle for each of the Nether and End versions of Inferium Ore and Prosperity Ore. The pack has all of them set to true, so every one of these ores can generate in the world:[9]

What changed in Mystical Agradditions between versions?

FTB Skies 2: Aero 1.10.0 ships Mystical Agradditions 8.0.14 for Minecraft 1.21.1. The mod has been in the pack since 1.0.3 or earlier, so it has been there from the early releases.[2]

The two most recent mod releases are small, and neither changes gameplay:[10][11]

    • 8.0.13 updated the ja_jp translations.[11]
    • 8.0.14 updated the fr_fr translations. This is the version in the pack now.[2][10]

If you play in English, you won't notice anything different from these updates.[10][11]

Unverified No pack changelog entries for Mystical Agradditions were available, so any changes the pack itself made to this mod across its releases are unverified.
