What is Just Another Grass Seed?
Just Another Grass Seed is part of the pack's mod list. This pack ships version 21.1.7, built for NeoForge on Minecraft 1.21.1 (the file is jags-neo-21.1.7+mc1.21.1.jar).[1]
It isn't a recent addition either: it was already in the pack in version 1.0.3 or earlier, so it has been part of the pack for a long time.[1]
Unverified The sources I have don't describe what the mod does or how its seeds behave, so I can't confirm any details about its items, recipes or config options in this pack.
How do you get started with Just Another Grass Seed?
3 parts
Just Another Grass Seed adds Grass Seed and a set of Fake Grass Blocks. In this pack, both are reached through recipes the pack added, so here is the order I'd go in.[2][3]
Get Grass Seed by sifting
Grass Seed is one of the possible results of a sifting recipe added by the pack. It shares that result list with a lot of farming items, so it is only one of many things the recipe can give you.[2]

Make a Fake Grass Block
Fake Grass Block has two recipes in this pack, and both were added by the pack. The first is a shapeless crafting recipe.[2]

The second is a different shapeless recipe, also added by the pack, so you can pick whichever fits what you have on hand.[2]
The pack's second recipe for the Fake Grass Block.
Switch biome variants in the stonecutter
Once you have a plain Fake Grass Block, the pack lets you convert it in a stonecutter into biome variants, for example Fake Grass Block (Plains), Fake Grass Block (Swamp) or Fake Grass Block (Snow). Other variants include Badlands, Birch, Cheery, Dark Forest, Desert, Jungle, Mangrove, Meadow, Mushroom, Ocean, Pale Garden and Sparse Jungle.[2][3]
Stonecutting

Every variant follows the same pattern: the plain block goes in and the variant comes out.
It works in reverse too. Every variant can be cut back into the plain Fake Grass Block, so you can change your mind later.[2]

The same back-conversion exists for every other variant.
How does Just Another Grass Seed work?
3 parts
In this pack, Just Another Grass Seed is about items and blocks rather than machines. The language file lists Grass Seed and a set of Fake Grass Blocks, and the recipes below are how you get them and swap between them.[2][3]
Getting Grass Seed
In this pack, Grass Seed comes from sifting. The pack adds a sifting recipe where dirt goes through a Mechanical Cloth Mesh, and the seed is one of many possible results, alongside crop seeds and saplings.[2]

Added by the pack. Grass Seed is one of the many outputs of this sifting recipe.
Making a Fake Grass Block
There are two ways to get the base Fake Grass Block, and the pack added both. The first is a shapeless crafting recipe made in the pack's own script. In that script the Super Glue takes 1 point of damage when you craft, so it is not simply used up in one go.[2][4]
Pack script recipe, uses Super Glue and damages it.
The second is a shapeless recipe that turns a vanilla grass block directly into a Fake Grass Block.[2]
Added by the pack: one grass block becomes one Fake Grass Block.
Switching biome variants
The mod has a Fake Grass Block for many biome looks, including Fake Grass Block (Badlands), Fake Grass Block (Birch), Fake Grass Block (Cheery), Fake Grass Block (Dark_forest), Fake Grass Block (Desert), Fake Grass Block (Jungle), Fake Grass Block (Mangrove), Fake Grass Block (Meadow), Fake Grass Block (Mushroom), Fake Grass Block (Ocean), Fake Grass Block (Pale_garden), Fake Grass Block (Plains), Fake Grass Block (Snow), Fake Grass Block (Sparse_jungle) and Fake Grass Block (Swamp).[3]
You change between them with a stonecutter. The pack adds 30 stonecutting recipes: the base block can be cut into each biome variant, and each variant can be cut back into the base block.[2]

How do you progress through Just Another Grass Seed?
3 parts
This mod doesn't have a tier ladder in this pack, and I can't point you to a quest chapter for it. What the pack does give you is a short route: get Grass Seed, then make and swap between Fake Grass Blocks. Here's how each step works.[2]
Step 1: Getting Grass Seed
In this pack, Grass Seed comes from sifting. The pack adds a Create sifter recipe that puts it among the possible drops when you sift plain dirt. It shares that drop table with a lot of other seeds and crops, so expect to sift a fair bit.[2]

Step 2: Making a Fake Grass Block
The pack gives you two ways to get a Fake Grass Block. The simple one is a shapeless craft that turns a normal grass block into a Fake Grass Block.[2]
The second route is a recipe the pack adds with a KubeJS script. It uses Create's Super Glue, and the script makes the glue take damage when you craft instead of being thrown away like a normal ingredient.[2][4]
Step 3: Biome variants
Once you have a plain Fake Grass Block, the pack lets you convert it into biome-themed versions in a stonecutter. Each conversion also works in reverse, so you can always go back to the plain block. Here's the Plains version and the trip back as an example.[2]

The variants available this way are:[2]
- Fake Grass Block (Badlands), Fake Grass Block (Desert) and Fake Grass Block (Snow)[2]
- Fake Grass Block (Birch), Fake Grass Block (Cheery), Fake Grass Block (Dark_forest) and Fake Grass Block (Pale_garden)[2]
- Fake Grass Block (Jungle), Fake Grass Block (Sparse_jungle), Fake Grass Block (Mangrove) and Fake Grass Block (Swamp)[2]
- Fake Grass Block (Meadow), Fake Grass Block (Plains), Fake Grass Block (Mushroom) and Fake Grass Block (Ocean)[2]
How does Just Another Grass Seed work with other mods?
3 parts
Just Another Grass Seed links to other mods through recipes that the pack adds itself, not through mod defaults. Everything below comes from those recipes.[2]
Getting Grass Seed by sifting dirt
Grass Seed is one of the possible results when you sift Dirt with a Mechanical Cloth Mesh. It shares that result list with crop seeds from other mods, including Cabbage Seeds, Tomato Seeds, Rice Crops and Menril Sapling. Vanilla items such as Wheat Seeds, Melon Seeds, Pumpkin Seeds, Beetroot Seeds, Sugar Cane, Bamboo, Cocoa Beans and Sweet Berries are in the same list.[2]

Fake Grass Block with Create's Super Glue
The pack adds a shapeless crafting recipe for the Fake Grass Block in its own KubeJS script for this mod. It uses Super Glue from Create, and the script makes crafting damage the glue instead of using it up.[2][4]
Grass Seed and Grains of Infinity
The pack also adds a Lychee item-inside recipe that ties Grass Seed to Ender IO's Grains of Infinity. Dirt is part of it too.[2]
