What is Create: Hypertubes?
2 parts
Create: Hypertubes is an addon for Create, inspired by the Hypertubes in Satisfactory. It lets you build tube networks that carry players and other entities across your world, with curves for fun routes or long straight runs for logistics.[1]
This pack ships version 0.6.0 of the mod.[2]
How you use it
- Power a Hypertube Entrance Block with a cogwheel, then jump in and you get thrown along the tube.[1][3]
- Use a wrench on the entrance to pick its mode. In Automatic Lock Mode you can sneak to avoid being pulled into the tube.[1]
- Fish and villagers can travel through the tubes too. Turn on Automatic Lock Mode and watch them go.[1]
- You can change how tubes connect with a wrench, and automate tube behaviour or detect travellers with attachments.[1]
Where it sits in the quest book
The pack's quest book covers this mod in the "Create" chapter, which is in the "Tech Mods" group and is chapter 22 of 31 in the book. That chapter has 100 quests. The quest "Create: Hypertubes" quest (subtitled "Player go whoosh!") asks you for the Hypertube Entrance Block and the Hypertube Block. It comes right after the Smart Chute quest.[3]
The quest explains that you place Hypertube Entrance Blocks, then click with Hyperlinktube Blocks to extend out to a separate point. You can make single or dual direction paths and place hypertube blocks as connection points for longer distances. The quest text is a good starting point for your first line.[3]
The part of the Create chapter that follows this quest is not shown in the quest sources I have, so check the quest book in game to see what it leads to. This mod is not on the ATM Star quest path.[3]
How do you get started with Create: Hypertubes?
5 parts
Hypertubes let you fling yourself around your base at high speed. In the pack's quest book, the "Create: Hypertubes" quest quest sits in the "Create" chapter of the Tech Mods group (chapter 22 of 31). It comes right after "Smart Chute" quest, and it asks you for a Hypertube Entrance Block and a Hypertube Block. Here is the order I'd go in.[3]
Step one: make the tube blocks
Everything starts with the Hypertube Block. The pack changes this recipe from the mod's own version, and a single craft gives you 16 tube blocks, so you won't run short for a first line.[4]

Step two: craft the Hypertube Funnel
The Hypertube Funnel is the key part for everything else, because the entrance, the accelerator and the splitter recipes all use it. The pack changes this recipe too.[4]

Step three: build the entrance
The Hypertube Entrance Block is your doorway into the network. This one is the mod's own recipe, not changed by the pack.[4]

Step four: power it and connect the tubes
An entrance only works with rotational force: you need to power it with at least 16 RPM, and the faster it spins, the faster you travel. In this pack the entrance has a stress impact of 4, the same as the mod default, and the Hypertube Accelerator Block also has 4. Both are set in [[config:config/create_hypertube-server.toml#Stress Settings.entranceStressImpact]] and [[config:config/create_hypertube-server.toml#Stress Settings.acceleratorStressImpact]].[5][6]
- Place the entrance and feed it rotation from your power setup.[1][5]
- Hold a tube block and right click an already placed tube, then place the second tube. That creates a connection between them.[5]
- You can also connect tubes that are already placed, and change the tube segment count with the wrench.[5]
- Use extra tube blocks as connection points to cover longer distances.[3]
In this pack, tubes have solid collision along their path, so you can stand on them while travellers pass through freely. That is [[config:config/create_hypertube-server.toml#Collision Settings.tubeCollision]], set to true.[6]
Upgrades for later
Once your first line works, the Hypertube Accelerator increases the speed of travellers, and right clicking it switches it to brake mode. This is the mod's own recipe.[4][5]

The Hypertube Splitter can link up to three tubes, so a line can branch into several paths. While travelling you pick your route with the movement keys. The pack changes its mechanical crafting recipe, and it also adds a second way to make it through a Modern Industrialization machine recipe.[4][5]

How does Create: Hypertubes work?
6 parts
Create: Hypertubes is a Create addon that lets players and other entities travel through tube networks at speed. The network is built from a few blocks: tubes, entrances, accelerators and splitters. Attachments add detection and redstone control. Here is how each part works in this pack.[1]
Building a tube line
To connect two tubes, right click a Hypertube Block while holding another tube, then place the second one. You can also connect tubes that are already placed. Use a wrench to change the segment count of a connection.[5]

The pack changed this recipe, and one craft gives 16 tubes.
In this pack [[config:config/create_hypertube-server.toml#Collision Settings.tubeCollision]] is true. That means tubes have solid collision along their curve: you can stand on them and mobs can't pass through them, but travelers still pass through freely. If you turn it off, only new tubes lose collision. Existing tubes keep theirs until they are reconnected.[6]
Entrances
The Hypertube Entrance Block is what connects you to the network. It needs at least 16 RPM to work, and the faster it spins, the faster you travel. Powering it with a cogwheel is all it takes to get going.[1][5]
Right click the entrance with a wrench to change its mode. The modes shown in the mod's text are Automatic Lock Mode, Manual Lock Mode and Sneak to Enter. In Automatic Lock Mode you can sneak to avoid being pulled into the tube. The mod's page also says that fish and villagers can travel when Automatic Lock Mode is on.[1][5]
The entrance's stress impact is set by [[config:config/create_hypertube-server.toml#Stress Settings.entranceStressImpact]]. It is 4 in this pack, the same as the mod default.[6]

Accelerators
The Hypertube Accelerator Block increases the speed of entities traveling the tube. Right click it to switch it to Brake Mode, and switch it back to return to Accelerate Mode. Its stress impact is set by [[config:config/create_hypertube-server.toml#Stress Settings.acceleratorStressImpact]], which is 4 in this pack, the same as the mod default.[5][6]

Splitters
The Hypertube Splitter links up to three tubes and branches a line into several paths. While traveling, you pick where to go with your movement keys. Right click the splitter with a wrench to cycle its modes. On Continue mode, travelers always keep going through the side tubes. On Center mode, they are always routed through the front tube.[5]
A Redstone Detector Tube Attachment can toggle between those two forced modes.[5]
The pack gives you two ways to get a splitter. One is the changed mechanical crafting recipe, and the other is a Modern Industrialization constructor recipe that the pack added. See Modern Industrialization.[4]

Attachments and automation
The Tube Scanner Attachment detects entities traveling the tube. Its ponder text gives 8 power for babies and 15 for adults. The Redstone Detector Attachment lets a redstone signal change the Accelerator or Entrance mode. You can place attachments on accelerators too, on any side at the same time.[5]

Sequenced Assembly (create)

Who can travel
[[config:config/create_hypertube-server.toml#Travel Settings.entityListMode]] decides which entities can use the tubes. The options are TAG_ONLY, WHITELIST, BLACKLIST and TAG_WITH_BLACKLIST. This pack uses BLACKLIST, so every entity can travel except those on the blacklist.[6]
- [[config:config/create_hypertube-server.toml#Travel Settings.entityBlacklist]] is set to the wither and the ender dragon in this pack.[6]
- [[config:config/create_hypertube-server.toml#Travel Settings.entityWhitelist]] only applies in WHITELIST mode. It lists the player, villager, wandering trader and Create package.[6]
- TAG_ONLY uses the create_hypertube:traveller_entities tag from datapacks. TAG_WITH_BLACKLIST uses that tag but excludes the blacklist.[6]
How do you progress through Create: Hypertubes?
4 parts
Hypertubes have no tier ladder of their own in this pack. Progression is a single quest plus a handful of crafts. The quest "Create: Hypertubes" quest sits in the Create chapter (Tech Mods group, chapter 22 of 31 in the quest book) and unlocks after "Smart Chute" quest. It asks you to get Hypertube Entrance Block and Hypertube Block.[3]
The quest path to Hypertubes
Going back up the quest book, the route to the Hypertubes quest looks like this:[3]
- "Welcome to Create!" quest is where the Create chapter starts.[3]
- "Early-game Rotational Force" quest comes after it.[3]
- "Andesite Casing" quest follows.[3]
- "Plates" quest comes next.[3]
- "The Brass Age" quest is the next step.[3]
- "Brass Plate" quest follows The Brass Age.[3]
- "Smart Chute" quest comes after Brass Plate.[3]
- "Create: Hypertubes" quest is the last step on this path.[3]
Stage 1: tubes, funnel and entrance
The pack changed the recipe for Hypertube Block, and one craft gives you 16 blocks. This is the base of every tube line you build.[4]

The pack also added a second way to make it in the FTB Constructor. The Constructor is a multiblock machine that the quest book describes as mainly replacing Create's Mechanical Crafters. It is built in the quest that comes after the Mechanical Crafter quest.[3][4]
Ftb Constructor (modern_industrialization)

Stage 3: attachments
The Redstone Detector Tube Attachment is crafted with the mod's own recipe.[4]

The Tube Scanner Attachment is the most involved item here. It is made by Sequenced Assembly, and the pack changed that recipe. The sequence also produces an Unfinished Tube Scanner.[4]

Unverified What the attachments actually do inside a tube line, and any speed or range numbers for tubes and accelerators, are not confirmed by the pack sources.
How does Create: Hypertubes work with other mods?
4 parts
Create: Hypertubes is an addon for Create, so most of its links to other mods run through Create itself. In this pack the recipes also lean on the pack's own Brass Plate, and one extra recipe comes through Modern Industrialization's FTB constructor.[1][4]
Recipes that stay as the mod made them
Three parts keep the mod's own recipes, and each one is built from Create items. The Hypertube Entrance Block is the one you need to start travelling, and it is crafted with a Create part, plus a Hypertube Funnel.[4]

Recipes the pack changed
The pack rewrote several recipes to run through Brass Plate. The Hypertube Block recipe is one of them, and it now makes 16 tube blocks per craft.[4]

Modern Industrialization
The pack adds a second way to get the splitter, using the FTB constructor recipe type from Modern Industrialization. It needs more funnels and Brass Plates than the mechanical crafting route.[4]

Recipe id: ftb:modern_industrialization/ftb_constructor/create_hypertube/hypertube_junction
In the quest book
Hypertubes has no chapter of its own. Its quest "Create: Hypertubes" quest sits in the "Create" chapter, in the "Tech Mods" group, and comes after the Smart Chute quest. It asks for the entrance and the tube block.[3]
The same chapter also has the "Electron Tube" quest quest, which covers the Electron Tube that the tube scanner needs. The "Brass Plate" quest quest covers Brass Plate and follows the quest called The Brass Age. The rest of the chapter's quests are told in the quest book.[3]
Which FTB Skies 2: Aero quests use Create: Hypertubes?
2 parts
This mod has one quest, and it sits in the "Create" chapter of the pack's quest book. That chapter is in the Tech Mods group, is chapter 22 of 31 in the book, and holds 100 quests.[3]
The Hypertubes quest
"Create: Hypertubes" quest (subtitled "Player go whoosh!") asks you to hand in two items: the Hypertube Entrance Block and the Hypertube Block. The quest text pitches hypertubes as a more sophisticated way to get around your base than belts as a sidewalk or weighted ejectors to fling yourself.[3]
It also explains the basics. You can make single or dual direction paths by placing Hypertube Entrance Blocks, then clicking with some Hyperlinktube Blocks to extend out to a separate point. For longer distances, you can place hypertube blocks to set up connection points.[3]
Where it sits in the chapter
The quest unlocks after "Smart Chute" quest. Following the quests back from there, this is the route through the chapter:[3]
- "Welcome to Create!" quest is the chapter opener and asks for Andesite Alloy.[3]
- "Early-game Rotational Force" quest comes next.[3]
- "Andesite Casing" quest follows.[3]
- "Plates" quest asks for an iron, copper or gold plate, plus the mechanical press.[3]
- "The Brass Age" quest asks for a brass ingot.[3]
- "Brass Plate" quest is the next step.[3]
- "Smart Chute" quest is the quest right before hypertubes.[3]
- "Create: Hypertubes" quest is the hypertube quest itself.[3]
No other quest in the chapter lists the Hypertubes quest as a prerequisite, so it is the end of that line.[3]
Which Create: Hypertubes config options matter?
4 parts
Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 guide
Hypertubes has a server config and a client config. The speed multiplier and both stress impacts are left at the mod default in this pack. Here are the options you're most likely to touch and the values the pack uses.[7][8]
Who and what can travel
- [[config:config/create_hypertube-server.toml#Travel Settings.entityListMode]] is set to BLACKLIST in this pack. That means every entity can travel except the ones on the blacklist. The other modes are TAG_ONLY, WHITELIST and TAG_WITH_BLACKLIST. TAG_ONLY uses only the 'create_hypertube:traveller_entities' tag from datapacks, and TAG_WITH_BLACKLIST uses that tag but excludes the blacklisted entities.[8]
- [[config:config/create_hypertube-server.toml#Travel Settings.entityBlacklist]] holds minecraft:wither and minecraft:ender_dragon in this pack, so those two can't ride the tubes.[8]
- [[config:config/create_hypertube-server.toml#Travel Settings.entityWhitelist]] lists minecraft:player, minecraft:villager, minecraft:wandering_trader and create:package. It is only used when the mode is WHITELIST, so while the pack runs BLACKLIST this list does nothing.[8]
Speed
[[config:config/create_hypertube-server.toml#Travel Settings.speedMultiplier]] is 1, which is normal tube speed and the same as the mod default. It accepts values from 0.5 to 99.0, but the config itself labels it highly experimental, so raise it with care.[8]
Stress
[[config:config/create_hypertube-server.toml#Stress Settings.entranceStressImpact]] for the Hyper Entrance and [[config:config/create_hypertube-server.toml#Stress Settings.acceleratorStressImpact]] for the Hyper Accelerator are both 4 in this pack. That matches the mod default, and each can be set anywhere from 0.0 to 100.0.[8]
Collision and camera
[[config:config/create_hypertube-server.toml#Collision Settings.tubeCollision]] is true. Tubes have solid collision along their curved path, so you can stand on them and mobs can't walk through, while travelers still pass through freely.[8]
Gameplay.allowFPVInsideTheTube is false, which is also the mod's default and is described as the better experience. If you want to ride in first person, the mod page says you can enable FPV in the config files.[1][7]
What changed in Create: Hypertubes between versions?
2 parts
FTB Skies 2: Aero 1.10.0 ships Create: Hypertubes 0.6.0, and the mod has been in the pack since 1.0.3 or earlier. Here are the notable changes from the mod's own changelogs for the two releases I have notes on.[2]
0.6.0 (the version in your pack)
This is the "collisions and splitters" release. It is backward-compatible with older worlds.[9]
- Tube segments now have collisions.[9]
- New Tube Escape mechanic: hold the Sneak key while traveling through a tube to get out of a soft lock.[9]
- A new camera transition plays when you enter and exit tubes, and camera movement is now much smoother.[9]
- There is now a Ponder scene for the Hypertube Splitter, and you can view the splitter's path while wearing Goggles.[9]
- You can place tubes continuously, and angle detection when placing tubes has been improved.[9]
- Lights now illuminate only the adjacent tube segment instead of the entire connected tube.[9]
0.5.0 ALPHA (the junction update)
This was an alpha test version that introduced the Junction System using the Hypertube Splitter. It was released to gather feedback, so it was not meant as a final release.[10]
- You can build branching tube networks with multiple possible paths.[10]
- Junctions can redirect travelers through different routes, either by redstone or manually with WASD.[10]
- Goggles show the selected path, and a Wrench changes the Junction mode.[10]
- Hypertube Accelerators now play a higher-pitched sound when you pass through them.[10]
- Client-side movement synchronization and visual jitter during travel were improved, and client/server desync issues were fixed.[10]
- Some crafting recipes were reworked to feel more immersive. The changelog doesn't say which ones.[10]
