What is Iron's Gems 'n Jewelry?
2 parts
Iron's Gems 'n Jewelry is a modular jewelcrafting mod. You build pieces of jewelry from a pattern plus materials, and the mod advertises more than 10,000 possible combinations. If you like collecting gear, chasing bonuses and building your own loadout, this one is for you.[1]
This pack includes version 1.21.1-2.0.2 of the mod. The mod also needs Iron's Lib, Atlas API and Curios API to run.[1][2]
How it works
You craft jewelry at the Jewelcrafting Station. Some patterns you know from the start. Others you unlock by looting or trading for an Artisan Scroll.[1]
Each pattern decides the type of bonus, such as bonus attributes. The materials you use decide the specific bonus, and their quality decides how strong it is. The more precious the gem, the stronger the result.[1]
The mod adds 7 obtainable gemstone items and a new villager profession, the Jeweler. Villagers will work at a Jewelcrafting Station, buy and sell materials, sell finished jewelry and offer more advanced patterns.[1]
In this pack
The pack gives the mod its own quest chapter. It starts with a quest to obtain the Jewelcrafting Station: "Welcome to Iron's Gems & Jewelry!" quest.[3]
The chapter also has quests for five gems: Garnet, Peridot, Moonstone, Topaz and Onyx. For example, see "Garnet" quest for Garnet and "Onyx" quest for Onyx.[3]
Most of the remaining quests ask you to obtain an Artisan Scroll, such as "Stalwart Ring" quest and "Superior Gemset Ring" quest. These quests are unlocked after other quests in the chapter.[3]
Unverified The sources don't show whether the pack changes any of this mod's recipes, configs or values, or exactly where jewelry fits in the pack's overall progression. Treat both as unconfirmed.
How do you get started with Iron's Gems 'n Jewelry?
4 parts
Iron's Gems 'n Jewelry is all about modular jewelry: you pick a pattern, pick materials, and build the piece at one special block. So your first job is to get that block, then learn what you can make with it.[1]
Step 1: Make the Jewelcrafting Station
Everything starts with the Jewelcrafting Station, because jewelry is crafted from a pattern at this block. It is also the first quest in the pack's chapter for this mod ("Welcome to Iron's Gems & Jewelry!" quest). The recipe is cheap, and it uses copper ingots and planks of any type.[1][3][4]

Step 2: Craft the guide book
Next, make Jewelcrafting and You, the in-game "Guide to Gems 'n Jewelry". Its screen lets you select a part for more info, which is handy while you learn what each piece does.[4][5]

If you want a second copy, there is a separate recipe that duplicates the guide using another book.[4]

Step 3: Learn your patterns
Some patterns are known from the start, and you can craft them right away at the station. Others stay locked until you find an Artisan Scroll. You get these by looting or by trading.[1][5]
The guide's pattern notes say where to look. Most patterns can be found or traded for throughout the world. The Haggler Ring pattern can be traded for from Jewelers, and the Piglin Signet Ring pattern turns up in Nether Fortresses and Bastions. Several quests in this pack's chapter for the mod ask you to get an Artisan Scroll, so they are a good nudge to start exploring.[3][5]
Step 4: Collect gems
Gems are the materials that give your jewelry its bonuses. The pack's quests for this mod ask you to obtain Garnet ("Garnet" quest), Peridot ("Peridot" quest), Moonstone ("Moonstone" quest), Topaz ("Topaz" quest) and Onyx ("Onyx" quest).[3]
The pack adds its own way to get Topaz. You can smelt or blast a Topaz GeOre Shard into Topaz. This is a pack addition, not something the mod does by default.[4]
Unverified This pack's sources don't confirm how to obtain Garnet, Peridot, Moonstone or Onyx, so check the quest book in game for hints.
How does Iron's Gems 'n Jewelry work?
6 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 5.5 guide
Iron's Gems 'n Jewelry is all about modular jewelcrafting. You don't craft a finished ring from a fixed recipe. Instead, you pick a pattern, choose the materials that go into it, and assemble the piece at a Jewelcrafting Station. The pattern, the materials and their quality together decide what your jewelry does.[1]
The Jewelcrafting Station
The Jewelcrafting Station is the heart of the mod. Every jewelry item is crafted from a pattern at this block. It's an early-game build, so you can set one up as soon as you want to start experimenting.[1][6]
Crafting Shaped

Recipe id: irons_jewelry:jewelcrafting_station
The station also works as a job-site block for villagers. A villager that takes it becomes a Jeweler, so one station can give you both a crafting spot and a trading partner.[1]
Patterns and Artisan Scrolls
Patterns are the blueprints for your jewelry. You already know some patterns from the start. You unlock the rest by looting or trading for Artisan Scrolls. When a pattern is unlocked by default, you can craft it at a station right away. A locked pattern tells you that you need to find the matching scroll to learn it. If you pick up a scroll for a pattern you already have, its tooltip tells you the pattern is already learned.[1][7]
- You can find or trade for most patterns throughout the world. That includes the Amulet of Protection, Bane Ring, Barbed Band, Improved Gemset Ring, Rhinestone Amulet, Sharpshooter Loop, Stalwart Ring, Superior Gemset Ring and Tearstone Ring.[7]
- You can only get the Haggler Ring pattern by trading with Jewelers.[7]
- The Piglin Signet Ring pattern is found in Nether Fortresses and Bastions, so bring your Nether gear.[7]
Materials, parts and quality
Each pattern grants one type of bonus, such as bonus attributes. The materials you put into it decide the specific bonus you get. The quality of those materials decides how strong that bonus is. In short, the more precious the gems, the more powerful the finished piece.[1]
The primary part matters most. The primary part of a jewelry item sets the quality of the entire piece. When you use a material as the primary part, the potency of all the piece's bonuses is scaled by that material's quality. Put your best material in that slot.[7]
Tooltips help you plan. A pattern shows its applicable materials and lists the bonuses you'll get when it's crafted. The mixing and matching goes deep: the mod advertises more than 10,000 modular jewelry combinations and 7 new gemstone items to find.[1][7]
Bonus types
The mod's bonus descriptions show the kinds of effects your jewelry can grant:[7]
- Immunity to a specific effect.[7]
- Gaining an effect for a set number of seconds when you're hit.[7]
- Triggering an effect when your projectile hits.[7]
- Making Piglins neutral toward you.[7]
- A discount on items when you trade with villagers.[7]
The Jeweler villager
Villagers will happily set up shop at a Jewelcrafting Station and become Jewelers. They buy and sell materials, sell finished jewelry, and sell the secrets of more advanced patterns. That makes them a good way to fill in your pattern collection without relying only on luck with loot.[1]
Your guidebook
Jewelcrafting and You is the mod's in-game guide to Gems 'n Jewelry. Select a part of a pattern in the book to see more info. The book explains which bonus a part gives, what effect each material grants, and whether a pattern is unlocked or needs an Artisan Scroll. You can also craft a copy from an existing guide to hand one to a friend.[6][7]

Unverified The available sources don't describe any power, fluid, item-handling or automation features for this mod, or whether the Jewelcrafting Station can be fed by pipes or hoppers. Treat jewelcrafting as a hands-on crafting process unless you confirm otherwise in game.
How do you progress through Iron's Gems 'n Jewelry?
3 parts
Iron's Gems 'n Jewelry has its own quest chapter in the pack. It starts at the workbench, moves on to gems, and then to a batch of Artisan Scroll quests. The sources don't name the quests or describe their rewards, so here is the order the quest tree shows.[3]
Step 1: Get a Jewelcrafting Station
The first quest asks you to obtain the Jewelcrafting Station. "Welcome to Iron's Gems & Jewelry!" quest lists no prerequisite, so you can start it right away. The station uses the mod's own recipe, and the pack hasn't changed it.[3][4]

You can also craft the Jewelcrafting and You, which is also an unchanged mod recipe. If you lose your copy, a second recipe makes a duplicate.[4]

Step 2: Collect the gems
Each gem has its own quest, and all of them unlock from the same earlier quest. You can collect them in any order. Here they are:[3]
- Garnet in "Garnet" quest[3]
- Peridot in "Peridot" quest[3]
- Moonstone in "Moonstone" quest[3]
- Topaz in "Topaz" quest[3]
- Onyx in "Onyx" quest[3]
The pack adds a way to get Topaz. You can smelt or blast a Topaz GeOre Shard into it. Both recipes are listed as added by the pack, not taken from the mod's defaults.[4]
Step 3: Artisan Scroll quests
The rest of the chapter is a group of quests that each ask for an Artisan Scroll. Most of them need two earlier quests finished, so they open together. These are "Stalwart Ring" quest, "Superior Gemset Ring" quest, "Sharpshooter's Loop" quest, "Barbed Band" quest, "Improved Gemset Ring" quest, "Bane Ring" quest, "Tearstone Ring" quest and "Amulet of Protection" quest.[3]
"Rune Inscribed Ring" quest is slightly different. It also asks for an Artisan Scroll but depends on only one of those two earlier quests, so it can open sooner.[3]
Unverified The sources don't say which jewelry piece each Artisan Scroll unlocks, what metal or gem tiers the pieces have, or what the quests reward. Check the recipes in the Jewelcrafting Station in-game instead of relying on a tier list. This site does hold FTB Skies 2's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
How does Iron's Gems 'n Jewelry work with other mods?
3 parts
The links between this mod and the rest of the pack all revolve around one gem: Topaz. The pack adds recipes that connect it to GeOre and to Productive Bees.[4]
Topaz from GeOre shards
If you're growing GeOre crystals, the Topaz GeOre Shard can be turned into a real Topaz by cooking it. The pack adds both a smelting recipe and a blasting recipe for this, and both give the same result.[4]
This gives you a way to get Topaz for jewelcrafting from another mod's resource line.[4]
Topaz into Amber with Productive Bees
The connection also runs the other way. The pack adds a Productive Bees bee conversion recipe that takes Topaz and gives Amber.[4]
Quests
The quest chapter for this mod only asks for the mod's own items, such as the Jewelcrafting Station, Garnet, Peridot, Moonstone, Onyx and Topaz. None of its quests mix in items from other mods, so the cross-mod links are the recipes above.[3]
Which FTB Skies 2 quests use Iron's Gems 'n Jewelry?
3 parts
The mod has a single quest chapter in the pack, "irons_gems_and_jewelery". None of its quests has a title, and every one is an item task, so you are simply asked to have the listed item.[3]
Where it starts
"Welcome to Iron's Gems & Jewelry!" quest is the only quest in the chapter with no prerequisite listed. It asks for the Jewelcrafting Station.[3]
The gem quests
Each of these quests asks for one gem. They all unlock after the same earlier quest, which is not one of the quests in this chapter's list, so you can take them in any order once it is done.[3]
- "Garnet" quest asks for Garnet.[3]
- "Peridot" quest asks for Peridot.[3]
- "Moonstone" quest asks for Moonstone.[3]
- "Topaz" quest asks for Topaz.[3]
- "Onyx" quest asks for Onyx.[3]
The Artisan Scroll quests
The rest of the chapter asks for the Artisan Scroll, the Artisan Scroll. Most of these quests unlock only once a pair of earlier quests are both complete, and those earlier quests are also outside this chapter's list. "Rune Inscribed Ring" quest is the exception: it needs only the first quest of that pair.[3]
- Need both earlier quests: "Stalwart Ring" quest, "Superior Gemset Ring" quest, "Sharpshooter's Loop" quest and "Barbed Band" quest.[3]
- Also need both earlier quests: "Improved Gemset Ring" quest, "Bane Ring" quest, "Tearstone Ring" quest and "Amulet of Protection" quest.[3]
- Needs only the first of the pair: "Rune Inscribed Ring" quest.[3]
Which Iron's Gems 'n Jewelry config options matter?
1 part
Good news: Iron's Gems 'n Jewelry only has two server-side options worth knowing about in this pack, and both sit at the mod's defaults. The pack hasn't changed either one, so you get the standard behavior from the mod.[8]
Server config: Worldgen
- Worldgen.enableDynamicJewelryLoot is set to true, which matches the default. When it's on, jewelry items are inserted dynamically into loot tables based on what those tables already contain. For example, loot tables with gems and equipment can automatically generate jewelry items.[8]
- Worldgen.jewelerHouseWeight is set to 2, which also matches the default. This is the weight of the Jeweler's House in village generation.[8]
Unverified How the Jeweler's House weight of 2 compares with other village buildings, and how often you'll actually find one in a village, isn't confirmed by the available sources.
