What is Ars Nouveau's Flavors & Delight?
Ars Nouveau's Flavors & Delight is part of this pack, which ships version 2.2.2 of the mod (file arsdelight-2.2.2.jar). That version is the one this guide describes.[1]
Unverified The sources I have don't describe what the mod adds, who it is best suited to, or any pack-specific changes to its recipes or configs. I'm not going to guess, so check the in-game item list for the arsdelight namespace to see what it adds in your world.
Unverified Where the mod fits in progression is unconfirmed. No quests involving it and no ATM Star path entry were found, so don't expect the quest book to guide you through it.
How do you get started with Ars Nouveau's Flavors & Delight?
5 parts
Welcome to Ars Nouveau's Flavors & Delight, the mod that ties Ars Nouveau's crops into Farmer's Delight style cooking. This is the order I'd go in, using the recipes that are actually in the pack. The recipe blocks below show the exact ingredients.[2]
Make a Source Berry Cookie
The Source Berry Cookie is a nice first craft. It only uses items from Ars Nouveau and vanilla, so you can try it before touching any Farmer's Delight cooking.[2]

Recipe id: arsdelight:source_berry_cookie
Set up storage with crates
Each Ars crop has a matching crate, like the Bastion Crate. There is also a Source Berry Crate for Sourceberry.[2]

Recipe id: arsdelight:source_berry_crate
Cook a jam
Jams are a key ingredient in the bigger dishes. Activated Bastion Jam is made with a Farmer's Delight style cooking recipe. It is used in the Bastion Pie, in Arch Sauce and in Bastion Pork.[2]

Recipe id: arsdelight:cooking/activated_bastion_jam
Craft a pie
With a jam in hand you can craft the Bastion Pie. The same pattern repeats for the other crops, each with its own jam. The second recipe below shows how to turn slices back into a whole pie.[2]
Crafting Shaped
Recipe id: arsdelight:bastion_pie
Crafting a whole pie from its slices uses a single item, Bastion Pie Slice.
Move on to Arch Sauce and Wilden food
Once you have several jams, Arch Sauce is the next step. It is a cooking recipe that combines the Activated Bastion, Activated Mendosteen, Neutralized Bombegranate and Neutralized Frostaya jams. Dishes like Wilden Salad and Honey Glazed Chimera then build on it.[2]

This one is shapeless, so the ingredients can go anywhere in the grid. It needs Wilden Spike Powder.
The mod also adds a Wilden effect that grants max mana, mana restoration and spell damage.[3]
How does Ars Nouveau's Flavors & Delight work?
5 parts
Here's the honest picture first: the sources show no machines, multiblocks, power or fluid systems for Ars Nouveau's Flavors & Delight. Its own guidebook category describes it as mechanics, effects and items that interact with contents in Ars Nouveau. In practice, the core mechanics here are food effects, a handful of config values that tune them, and some cooking chains.[3]
Effects
The mod adds status effects that tie into Ars Nouveau's mana and spell systems or into your health. These are the ones the sources describe. They don't say which food gives which effect, so check the item tooltips in game.[3]
- Wilden: gain max mana, mana restoration and spell damage.[3]
- Flourishing: when you heal, you recover mana as well.[3]
- Synchronized Shield: when you heal, you gain absorption as well.[3]
- Freezing Spell: your spell damage also inflicts a freezing effect.[3]
- Lightning Curse: your spell attack targets get a lightning lure.[3]
- Blast Resistance: reduces incoming explosion damage.[3]
Tuning values in this pack
The Wilden bonuses are wildenMaxManaBonus, wildenManaRegenBonus and wildenSpellDamageBonus. The pack sets each to 0.2, which is the mod default, within an allowed range of 0.0 to 1.0. So the Wilden effect works here exactly as the mod ships it.[3][4]
maxShieldingAbsorption is set to 8, which is also the mod default. Its allowed range is 2.0 to 100.0.[3][4]
More server options are set in the pack. drygmyFarmingDamageTool is 2, the mod default, with a range of 0 to 10,000. drygmyFarmingToolPlainCopy is false. On the common side, enableThirstCompat is true.[3][4][5]
Getting items: tooltip interactions
The mod's tooltips point to a few ways of obtaining things. Some items are dropped when you kill a particular mob with an axe, and others when you use a knife. Some are obtained by right-clicking one thing with another. Some can be set down in the world with a shift right click. Some tooltips also show a percentage chance. The sources don't say which items use which method, so read the tooltip on the item itself.[3]
Cooking chains
The jams and sauce are made with Farmer's Delight cooking recipes rather than plain crafting. Activated Bastion Jam and Activated Mendosteen Jam each combine an Ars Nouveau fruit with one of the mod's barks.[2]

How do you progress through Ars Nouveau's Flavors & Delight?
5 parts
This mod has no quest chapter in the pack, so there is no quest order to follow. The recipes still form a clear ladder, because each stage feeds the next. Here is how I'd climb it.[2]
Unverified The sources here show no quests in this pack that involve this mod, so any quest-based progression for it is not confirmed.
Source berry basics
Everything starts with the Sourceberry. Source Berry Jam is the entry point, and it is the base for Source Berry Jelly. You can also make Source Berry Tea and Source Berry Cookie, and there is a Source Berry Crate too. None of these need a bark or any of the special fruits.[2]
The first recipe to make, since the jelly builds on it.
Barks and the fruit jams
Next you bring in the barks: Blazing Bark, Cascading Bark, Flourishing Bark and Vexing Bark. Each fruit jam is cooked with one of them. Bastion and Mendosteen get the activated versions, Activated Bastion Jam and Activated Mendosteen Jam. Bombegranate, Frostaya and Flashpine get the neutralized versions, Neutralized Bombegranate Jam, Neutralized Frostaya Jam and Neutralized Flashpine Jam.[2]
Cooking (farmersdelight)
Recipe id: arsdelight:cooking/activated_bastion_jam
Each fruit also has its own jelly, tea, hornbeer and crate. Bastion Jelly and Bastion Tea are good examples. Crates such as Bastion Crate and Mendosteen Crate are simple one-fruit recipes.[2]
Wilden and Chimera ingredients
Here the mob-drop ingredients come in. Wilden Sauce is the gateway to the fruit meals: Bastion Pork, Bombegranate Steak, Frostaya Mutton and Mendosteen Chicken. Each of those also needs its fruit's jam, so the jam stage has to come first.[2]
Wilden Spike Powder goes into both Wilden Skewer and Chimera Skewer, and Wilden Horn Powder is used in Wilden Stew. Chimera Horn is the key ingredient for every hornbeer, including Bastion Hornbeer and Source Berry Hornbeer.[2]
Arch Sauce, Arch Soup and the pies
The top of the ladder is Arch Sauce. It needs activated Bastion jam, activated Mendosteen jam, neutralized Bombegranate jam and neutralized Frostaya jam together, so you have to finish the jam stage first. With it you can make Wilden Salad, Honey Glazed Chimera and Source Berry Cupcake.[2]
Cooking (farmersdelight)

Neutralized Frostaya Jam

Recipe id: arsdelight:cooking/arch_sauce
Arch Soup is a separate top-tier dish. It uses Blazing, Cascading, Flourishing and Vexing bark together, so you need every bark type for it.[2]
The fruit pies, such as Bastion Pie and Frostaya Pie, sit at this level too. Each pie needs its own fruit's jam. You can cut a Bastion Pie into slices with a knife, and slices can be crafted back into a whole pie.[2]
Flashpine changes in this pack
The Flashpine line is marked as changed by the pack. That covers its crate, pie, pie-from-slices, hornbeer, jelly, tea and neutralized jam recipes. They all use the Flashpine pod from ars_elemental rather than ars_nouveau, so you need that fruit alongside the Ars Nouveau ones.[2]

How does Ars Nouveau's Flavors & Delight work with other mods?
4 parts
This mod is basically a bridge between Ars Nouveau and Farmer's Delight, and the pack adds a few extra links on top. There are no quests for it in this pack, so everything below comes from in-pack recipes.[2]
Ars Nouveau ingredients in Farmer's Delight cooking
Most of the food here uses Farmer's Delight's cooking recipe type, and Ars Nouveau items show up throughout: the fruit pods (Bastion Fruit, Bombegranate, Frostaya and Mendosteen), plus Sourceberry and Magebloom. Bastion Jelly below is one example.[2]
The pies mix both sides. They use Farmer's Delight's Pie Crust together with an Ars Nouveau fruit and a matching jam, for example the Bastion Pie below.[2]
Crafting Shaped
Recipe id: arsdelight:bastion_pie
Wilden drops get their own processing chain. Farmer's Delight cutting recipes turn Wilden Horn and Wilden Spike into powders using a shovel. Those powders, plus a Wilden Wing, make Wilden Sauce, which the main dishes use.[2]
Bark from stripping archwood (added by the pack)
The pack adds Farmer's Delight cutting recipes that give you bark when you strip archwood logs and wood with an axe. The Blazing version is shown below, covering Blazing Archwood Log and its stripped form Stripped Blazing Archwood Log, and it also gives Blazing Bark. The cascading, flourishing and vexing archwoods work the same way and give Cascading Bark, Flourishing Bark and Vexing Bark. Each color has both a log recipe and a wood recipe.[2]

Ars Elemental is covered as well: Flashing Archwood Log and Flashing Archwood Wood both have a stripping recipe that also gives Flashing Bark.[2]

- any axe

Flashpine from Ars Elemental
The Flashpine recipes use Flashpine from Ars Elemental, and the pack has changed them. That covers the crate, the pie, the neutralized jam, the jelly, the tea and the hornbeer. The sources don't say what exactly was changed, so check the recipe viewer for the in-pack versions.[2]
Other crossovers
- The pack adds stonecutting recipes that convert Sourceberry Sack to Source Berry Crate and back again.[2]
- Enchanter's Knife is made at the Ars Nouveau Enchanting Apparatus, starting from Farmer's Delight's Diamond Knife.[2]
- The recipe for Archwood Cabinet is shown at the end of this section, and it uses the Ars Nouveau pieces Archwood Slab and Archwood Trapdoor.[2]
- Ars Nouveau's Source Berry Pie can be cut into Source Berry Pie Slice with a knife, and the slices can be crafted back into the pie.[2]

Which FTB Skies 2 quests use Ars Nouveau's Flavors & Delight?
2 parts
Flavors & Delight doesn't get a chapter of its own in this pack. It has a single quest, and it sits inside the Ars Nouveau chapter. That chapter is in the Magic Mods group, is chapter 22 of 41 in the quest book, and holds 62 quests.[6]
Arcanist's Delight
The quest is "Arcanist's Delight" quest, subtitled "A taste of magic". It is a plain checkmark quest, so there is no item to hand in. You just read it and tick it off. The text explains that the mod is an addon that adds extra foods for Ars Nouveau by way of Farmer's Delight. The magic Ars fruits can be made into beverages, cooked into meals, or baked into a pie.[6]
Where it sits in the chapter
It comes straight after the chapter's opening quest, "Welcome To Ars Nouveau!" quest, where you make the Novice Spell Book. You don't need to cast a spell or build anything first.[6]
That opener also leads to "Creating Your First Spell" quest, "Upgrading Our Spell Book" quest and "Ars Ocultas" quest. The last of those also needs the Occultism welcome quest. None of the other quests in this chapter list "Arcanist's Delight" quest as a prerequisite, so it works as a side quest you can do whenever you like.[6]
The quest text gives no recipes, item names or numbers for the food itself.[6]
Which Ars Nouveau's Flavors & Delight config options matter?
2 parts
Good news: this pack leaves Ars Nouveau's Flavors & Delight almost entirely on its stock settings. Every option that lists a mod default below is set to exactly that default, so the pack changed none of them. You get the mod's normal behavior.[4]
Server config
These options live in config/arsdelight-server.toml. The Wilden bonuses are all set to 0.2, which is also the mod default, and each one accepts values from 0.0 to 1.0.[4]
- wildenManaRegenBonus is 0.2 in the pack (mod default 0.2, range 0.0 to 1.0).[4]
- wildenMaxManaBonus is 0.2 in the pack (mod default 0.2, range 0.0 to 1.0).[4]
- wildenSpellDamageBonus is 0.2 in the pack (mod default 0.2, range 0.0 to 1.0).[4]
- maxShieldingAbsorption is 8 in the pack (mod default 8, range 2.0 to 100.0).[4]
- drygmyFarmingDamageTool is 2 in the pack (mod default 2, range 0 to 10,000).[4]
- drygmyFarmingToolPlainCopy is false in the pack. The source doesn't list a mod default for this one, so I can't tell you whether the pack changed it.[4]
Common config
In config/arsdelight-common.toml, enableThirstCompat is set to true in this pack. The source doesn't give a mod default for it, so I can't say whether that differs from stock.[5]
Unverified The sources only give option names, values and ranges. They don't describe exactly what each option does in game, such as how the drygmy farming tool options affect tools or how the Wilden bonuses are applied, so treat those details as unconfirmed.
