What is Ars Nouveau's Flavors & Delight?
Ars Nouveau's Flavors & Delight is part of the pack in version 2.1.9 (file arsdelight-2.1.9.jar). It has been in the pack since 1.0.1 or earlier, so it's a long-standing part of the mod list rather than a recent addition.[1]
Unverified The sources I have don't describe what this mod adds, who it suits best, or where it fits in the pack's progression. I also have no pack-specific recipes, config values or in-jar guidebook for it. I won't guess at any of those details.
Unverified No quests in this pack were found that involve this mod, and it isn't on the ATM Star quest path. Treat it as optional content that the pack's questing doesn't point you toward.
How do you get started with Ars Nouveau's Flavors & Delight?
3 parts
Welcome to Ars Delight, the mod that turns Ars Nouveau's fruits and berries into food. The recipes build on each other, so the order below saves you some backtracking. Everything here comes from the pack's recipe list.[2]
Your first items, in order
- Make a Source Berry Cookie. It is a good way to see what the food looks like.[2]
- Make the crates: Source Berry Crate, Bastion Crate, Bombegranate Crate, Frostaya Crate and Mendosteen Crate. The recipe for the Bastion Crate is shown below, and the fruit crates each use their own matching Ars Nouveau fruit.[2]
- Cook the jams. Each one takes the matching fruit, a bark from this mod, a glass bottle and sugar. Many later recipes use them.[2]
- Bake the pies. Each pie uses its fruit, Sourceberry, its own jam, a Farmer's Delight Pie Crust, sugar and wheat. Pie slices can be crafted back into a whole pie.[2]
- Finish with Arch Sauce, which uses the Bastion, Mendosteen, Bombegranate and Frostaya jams. It feeds into bigger dishes like Honey Glazed Chimera.[2]
The Bastion Crate. The other fruit crates follow the same pattern.
Why jams come first
Jams are the bottleneck. Activated Bastion Jam and Activated Mendosteen Jam go into their pies, and Neutralized Bombegranate Jam and Neutralized Frostaya Jam go into theirs. Several meals (Bastion Pork, Bombegranate Steak, Mendosteen Chicken) also use a jam, so having each jam ready early means you won't stall later.[2]

How does Ars Nouveau's Flavors & Delight work?
5 parts
Ars Delight is a food mod, so its core mechanics are less about machines and more about cooking chains, status effects and a handful of server settings. Here is what the sources let me confirm for this pack.[3]
Effects
The mod's own description says it adds mechanics, effects and items that interact with Ars Nouveau content. These are the effects named in its language file:[3]
- Blast Resistance: reduces incoming explosion damage.[3]
- Flourishing: when you heal, you recover mana as well.[3]
- Freezing Spell: your spell damage also inflicts a freezing effect.[3]
- Synchronized Shield: when you heal, you gain absorption as well.[3]
- Wilden: gives you max mana, mana restoration and spell damage.[3]
The sources don't say which food gives which effect, so check the in-game tooltip of each dish.[3]
Pack settings that shape the effects
The Wilden bonuses for max mana, mana regeneration and spell damage are each set to 0.2 in this pack, which matches the mod default. Each can be set anywhere from 0.0 to 1.0. These are the options: wildenMaxManaBonus, wildenManaRegenBonus and wildenSpellDamageBonus.[3][4]
maxShieldingAbsorption is set to 8, the mod default, and accepts values from 2.0 to 100.0.[4]
Some other server options are at the mod default too: drygmyFarmingDamageTool is 2 (allowed range 0 to 10,000), and drygmyFarmingToolPlainCopy is false. In the common config, enableThirstCompat is true.[4][5]
Getting ingredients and placing items
The mod's tooltips point to a few handling rules. Some items can be placed down with a shift right click. Some items are obtained by right-clicking one thing with another. Some drops only happen when you kill a mob with an axe, and others only with a knife.[3]
Cooking chains
Several dishes use the Farmer's Delight cooking recipe type rather than normal crafting. The jams come first: Activated Bastion Jam and Activated Mendosteen Jam are both cooked this way, and each uses a bark from the mod.[2]

Pies, skewers and storage
The fruit pies are crafted with a jam, Pie Crust from Farmer's Delight and an Ars Nouveau fruit. Bastion Pie and Mendosteen Pie use the activated jams, and Bombegranate Pie and Frostaya Pie use the neutralized ones. Each pie also has a slice recipe going back to the whole pie.[2]

How do you progress through Ars Nouveau's Flavors & Delight?
5 parts
Unverified The sources here show no quests for this mod, so the pack's quest book gives no chapter or quest line to follow. The order below follows the in-pack recipes and what each one needs from the stage before it.
Think of Ars Nouveau's Flavors & Delight as a food ladder. You start with plain Sourceberry snacks, add the bark-based jams, teas and hornbeers for each Ars fruit, then move on to Wilden sauce dishes. The top of the ladder is Arch Sauce, which pulls in every jam in the mod. Most dishes use Farmer's Delight cooking recipes, and the pies and meats also use its cutting recipes.[2]
Starting out: Sourceberry basics
Sourceberry food is where the mod starts. Source Berry Jam is the first building block, and Source Berry Jelly is made from that jam. Source Berry Tea and Source Berry Cookie have their own Sourceberry recipes.[2]

Barks and the fruit lines
Next you branch into the Ars fruits: Bastion Fruit, Mendosteen, Bombegranate and Frostaya. Each fruit is paired with its own bark for its jam, tea and hornbeer. Bastion goes with Flourishing Bark, Mendosteen with Cascading Bark, Bombegranate with Vexing Bark, and Frostaya with Blazing Bark.[2]
- Bastion and Mendosteen get the activated jams: Activated Bastion Jam and Activated Mendosteen Jam.[2]
- Bombegranate and Frostaya get the neutralized jams: Neutralized Bombegranate Jam and Neutralized Frostaya Jam.[2]
- Each fruit also has its own jelly, tea and hornbeer. The jellies use a different bark pairing from the jams: for example Bastion Jelly uses Vexing Bark, not Flourishing Bark.[2]
- Every hornbeer, such as Bastion Hornbeer, needs Chimera Horn.[2]

A fruit plus its matching bark becomes that fruit's jam.
Wilden ingredients and main dishes
Wilden Horn Powder and Wilden Spike Powder are made on the cutting recipes by using a shovel on Wilden Horn and Wilden Spike. Those powders unlock Wilden Sauce, Wilden Stew and the skewers. You can also cut Wilden Meat into slices with a knife.[2]
Wilden Sauce is a key ingredient for the fruit main dishes: Bastion Pork, Bombegranate Steak, Frostaya Mutton and Mendosteen Chicken. Each dish also uses the jam from its own fruit line. Chimera Skewer is a separate recipe.[2]

Arch Sauce and the finishing dishes
Arch Sauce is the capstone ingredient, because it needs the activated and neutralized jams from every fruit line. Arch Soup is the other late recipe, and it needs every bark type. So you want all the fruit lines running before you can make either one.[2]

Pies, slices and storage
Each fruit line has a whole pie, such as Bastion Pie, and the pie recipe uses that line's jam. You cut a pie into slices with a knife, and the slices can be crafted back into a pie.[2]

For storage, every fruit has a crate recipe, for example Bastion Crate, and the Sourceberry has Source Berry Crate. There is also an Archwood Cabinet.[2]
How does Ars Nouveau's Flavors & Delight work with other mods?
3 parts
Ars Nouveau's Flavors & Delight is built around Ars Nouveau ingredients and Farmer's Delight cooking. A large share of its recipes use items from both, so here is how they connect in this pack.[2]
Ars Nouveau ingredients
The mod's food is built on Ars Nouveau's fruit. Bastion Fruit, Bombegranate, Frostaya, Mendosteen and Sourceberry (Sourceberry) feed the jams, jellies, teas, hornbeers, pies and meat dishes. Most of those dishes use Farmer's Delight cooking recipes.[2]
Magebloom shows up in the hornbeers and in the Wilden Salad. Archwood leaves go into the teas, and Fire Essence goes into the Unstable Cocktail.[2]
Wilden drops are processed too. Wilden Horn and Wilden Spike become powders through Farmer's Delight cutting recipes when you use a shovel, and those powders go into Wilden Sauce.[2]
A Farmer's Delight cooking recipe that also uses Wilden Wing.
Pies link the mods as well. The Source Berry Pie Slice is cut from Ars Nouveau's Source Berry Pie with any knife, and a shapeless crafting recipe turns a slice back into that pie.[2]
The Archwood Cabinet is a simple building piece made from Ars Nouveau Archwood parts.[2]

Farmer's Delight
The cooking and cutting recipes use Farmer's Delight's own recipe types. Some dishes also need Farmer's Delight items, and several accept item tags for the meat, vegetable, egg and milk slots, so ingredients from other mods can fill them.[2]

The Honey Glazed Chimera also needs Farmer's Delight's Rice Crops.
The Enchanter's Knife crosses over the other way. It is made with Ars Nouveau's enchanting apparatus, starting from Farmer's Delight's Diamond Knife.[2]

Changes made by the pack
The pack adds Farmer's Delight cutting recipes for the Blazing, Cascading, Flourishing and Vexing Archwood colors. Using an axe on a log or wood block strips it and also gives you that color's bark. Bark goes into the jams, jellies, teas and hornbeers.[2]

Which Ars Nouveau's Flavors & Delight config options matter?
2 parts
Good news: the config for this mod is short, and you won't need to touch much. Everything below is how the pack sets it. For every option where the file lists a mod default, the pack's value matches that default, so the pack hasn't changed any of them.[4][5]
Common config
- enableThirstCompat is set to true in this pack. The file doesn't list a mod default for it.[5]
Server config
These live in the server file, so they apply to the world's rules. The pack's values and the allowed ranges are below.[4]
- wildenSpellDamageBonus is 0.2, the same as the mod default. The allowed range is 0.0 to 1.0.[4]
- wildenMaxManaBonus is 0.2, the same as the mod default. The allowed range is 0.0 to 1.0.[4]
- wildenManaRegenBonus is 0.2, the same as the mod default. The allowed range is 0.0 to 1.0.[4]
- maxShieldingAbsorption is 8, the same as the mod default. The allowed range is 2.0 to 100.0.[4]
- drygmyFarmingDamageTool is 2, the same as the mod default. The allowed range is 0 to 10000.[4]
- drygmyFarmingToolPlainCopy is false in this pack. The file doesn't list a mod default for it.[4]
Unverified The sources only give option names and values, not descriptions. What enableThirstCompat and drygmyFarmingToolPlainCopy do in detail, and the exact units of the Wilden bonuses, are unconfirmed.
