What is Ars Nouveau's Flavors & Delight?
Ars Nouveau's Flavors & Delight is part of this pack. The pack ships version 2.2.1 of the mod (file arsdelight-2.2.1.jar), and it has been included since FTB Skies 2 1.1.1 or earlier.[1]
Unverified The sources I have don't describe what the mod adds, who it suits best, or where it fits in the pack's progression, so I'm not guessing. The pack's quest and ATM Star path data doesn't list this mod, so don't expect a quest to introduce it. The other sections of this guide cover recipes and configs only where the pack data confirms them.
How do you get started with Ars Nouveau's Flavors & Delight?
5 parts
Ars Delight links Ars Nouveau's crops to Farmer's Delight style cooking. Its in-game description says it adds mechanics, effects and items that interact with Ars Nouveau content. Here is a sensible order to work through it, from the simplest crafts to the multi-step dishes.[2][3]
Start with a cookie
Make the Source Berry Cookie first. It's a plain crafting table recipe, so it's a cheap way to get your first item from the mod.[2]

Crates for your crops
The mod has crates for sourceberries and for the Ars Nouveau fruits: Bastion, Bombegranate, Frostaya and Mendosteen. The Source Berry Crate and the Bastion Crate show how they're crafted, and the other fruit crates have their own recipes.[2]

Jams, the building blocks
Jams come next, because the pies and the sauces are built from them. Each fruit has its own jam. These are Farmer's Delight cooking recipes, and each one also uses one of the mod's bark items. Try Activated Bastion Jam first, then Neutralized Frostaya Jam.[2]

Once you have a jam for each fruit, you can combine them into Arch Sauce. That sauce is used in dishes such as the Source Berry Cupcake, the Wilden Salad and the Honey Glazed Chimera.[2]

Pies
With a jam in hand you can bake a pie. The Bastion Pie uses the Activated Bastion Jam from the previous step. Each fruit has its own pie, and each pie can be crafted back together from its slices.[2]

Slices go back into a whole pie.
Skewers
For a quick meat dish, the Wilden Skewer is a shapeless crafting recipe. It needs Wilden Spike Powder, so get that first.[2]

How does Ars Nouveau's Flavors & Delight work?
4 parts
Ars Nouveau's Flavors & Delight is a food add-on. The mod describes its own content as mechanics, effects and items that interact with Ars Nouveau. In the sources, its depth comes from food effects, a few server settings and a chain of cooking recipes, not from machines.[3]
Effects
These are the effects the mod adds, with their descriptions straight from the mod:[3]
- Blast Resistance reduces incoming explosion damage.[3]
- Flourishing recovers mana whenever you heal.[3]
- Freezing Spell makes your spell damage also inflict the freezing effect.[3]
- Synchronized Shield gives you absorption whenever you heal.[3]
- Wilden gives you more max mana, mana restoration and spell damage.[3]
Pack settings
Every server option that lists a mod default is set to that default in the pack, so nothing there has been rebalanced. Here is what the pack sets.[4]
- wildenMaxManaBonus, wildenManaRegenBonus and wildenSpellDamageBonus are each set to 0.2, within a range of 0.0 to 1.0. They line up with the max mana, mana restoration and spell damage that the Wilden effect improves.[3][4]
- maxShieldingAbsorption is set to 8, within a range of 2.0 to 100.0.[3][4]
- drygmyFarmingDamageTool is set to 2, within a range of 0 to 10,000.[3][4]
- drygmyFarmingToolPlainCopy is set to false.[4]
- enableThirstCompat is set to true.[5]
How the food chain is crafted
The jams, Arch Sauce, Arch Soup and Bastion Hornbeer are Farmer's Delight cooking recipes. Wilden Salad and the pies are ordinary crafting recipes, and the skewers are shapeless. The in-pack recipes are shown below.[2]

Tooltip hints
Some items in the mod use special tooltip lines that tell you how to get or use them:[3]
- "Right click [target] with [tool] to obtain" means you harvest the item by right-clicking something with a specific tool.[3]
- "Dropped when killing [mob] with axe" and "Dropped when killing [mob] with knife" mean the drop depends on the weapon you use.[3]
- Some drops show a percentage, in the form "item with N% chance".[3]
- "Shift right click to place down" means the item can be placed in the world.[3]
How do you progress through Ars Nouveau's Flavors & Delight?
5 parts
Unverified The pack's quest book has no quests for this mod, so the sources here show no quest-guided order. The steps below are read from the in-pack recipes instead.
Ars Nouveau's Flavors & Delight works like a chain. You start with cheap Sourceberry snacks, move on to the Ars Nouveau fruit lines, add the Wilden ingredients, and finish with the sauces and big dishes that pull everything together. Here is how that chain looks in the pack's recipes.[2]
Starting out: Source Berry basics
Begin with Source Berry Jam, a Farmer's Delight cooking recipe. Source Berry Jelly builds directly on the jam, and Source Berry Tea and the Source Berry Cookie round out the basics. The exact recipes are shown below.[2]
Cooking (farmersdelight)
Recipe id: arsdelight:cooking/source_berry_jelly
Next: the fruit lines
Next come the Ars Nouveau fruits: Bastion, Mendosteen, Bombegranate and Frostaya. Each fruit has its own crate, jelly, tea and hornbeer. Each also has a jam: Activated Bastion Jam, Activated Mendosteen Jam, Neutralized Bombegranate Jam and Neutralized Frostaya Jam. These jams are the key to the later dishes.[2]
Each fruit's jam, tea and hornbeer share a bark. Bastion uses Flourishing Bark, Mendosteen uses Cascading Bark, Bombegranate uses Vexing Bark and Frostaya uses Blazing Bark. The jellies are the exception: each fruit's jelly uses a different bark from its jam. For example, Bastion Jelly calls for Vexing Bark.[2]
Then: Wilden ingredients
Wilden Spike Powder and Wilden Horn Powder are the key Wilden ingredients. They go into Wilden Sauce, which the fruit main dishes rely on, and also into Wilden Stew and the skewers.[2]

Chimera Horn belongs here too, because every hornbeer needs it, including Source Berry Hornbeer. Chimera Meat also has a grilled version, Grilled Chimera Meat, and a sliced version, Chimera Meat Slice.[2]

Endgame dishes: sauces, mains and pies
The top of the chain is Arch Sauce. It combines the Sourceberry with the Bastion, Mendosteen, Bombegranate and Frostaya jams, so every fruit line needs to be running. Arch Soup is the bark-based counterpart and uses each of the fruit barks.[2]

Arch Sauce feeds Honey Glazed Chimera, Source Berry Cupcake and Wilden Salad. The fruit mains each use Wilden Sauce plus that fruit's jam: Bastion Pork, Bombegranate Steak, Frostaya Mutton and Mendosteen Chicken.[2]

The fruit pies, such as Bastion Pie, also sit at this stage because each one needs its fruit's jam. You can cut a pie into slices with a knife and craft the slices back into a whole pie.[2]

The Enchanter's Knife

How does Ars Nouveau's Flavors & Delight work with other mods?
5 parts
Ars Nouveau's Flavors & Delight is a bridge mod. The in-pack recipes that touch it mostly connect Ars Nouveau with Farmer's Delight. The Ars side supplies the ingredients, and the Farmer's Delight side supplies the cooking and cutting recipe types and a few staple items. Everything below comes from those recipes.[2]
Ars Nouveau ingredients in Farmer's Delight cooking
Most of the mod's jams, jellies, teas, hornbeers and meals use the Farmer's Delight cooking recipe type. Their ingredients come from Ars Nouveau: the pods Bastion Fruit, Bombegranate, Mendosteen and Frostaya, plus Sourceberry and Magebloom. The teas also use Ars Nouveau archwood leaves, such as Flourishing Archwood Leaves for Bastion Tea.[2]
The big meals build on each other. Arch Sauce is cooked from the activated and neutralized jams, and it feeds into Honey Glazed Chimera, Source Berry Cupcake and Wilden Salad. The pie recipes also use Pie Crust from Farmer's Delight.[2]
Wilden Sauce ties in Ars Nouveau's Wilden drops. It uses Wilden Wing, and the powders it needs come from cutting Wilden Horn and Wilden Spike with a shovel.[2]
Barks from stripping archwood (added by the pack)
Many of the cooking recipes need a bark: Flourishing Bark, Cascading Bark, Vexing Bark or Blazing Bark. The pack adds Farmer's Delight cutting recipes that give you a bark when you strip an archwood log or wood block with any axe. Each archwood colour gives its matching bark.[2]
Cutting (farmersdelight)

- any axe
Recipe id: ftb:farmersdelight/cutting/axe/red_archwood_log
Example: stripping a Blazing Archwood Log gives the stripped log and Blazing Bark. The other archwood logs and wood blocks work the same way, each with its own bark.
Sourceberry Sack and Source Berry Crate
The pack adds stonecutting recipes that convert between Ars Nouveau's Sourceberry Sack and this mod's Source Berry Crate in both directions. The mod also has its own crafting recipe that turns a sack into a crate, and an unpack recipe that turns a crate back into Sourceberries.[2]

Added by the pack. A matching stonecutting recipe turns a crate back into a sack.
Knives and the Enchanting Apparatus
Enchanter's Knife is made in Ars Nouveau's Enchanting Apparatus. It starts from Farmer's Delight's Diamond Knife and also needs a diamond, a gold storage block and a source storage block.[2]

- any diamond gem

Recipe id: arsdelight:enchanters_knife
The Source Berry Pie from Ars Nouveau can be sliced with any knife in the common knife tool tag, which gives you Source Berry Pie Slice. A crafting recipe puts the slice back into a whole Source Berry Pie.[2]
Crates and archwood furniture
Each of the Ars Nouveau fruit pods used by the mod can be crafted into a crate and unpacked again, for example Bastion Crate. The mod also adds Archwood Cabinet, built from Ars Nouveau's Archwood Slab and Archwood Trapdoor.[2]

Which Ars Nouveau's Flavors & Delight config options matter?
2 parts
Good news: there's not much to fiddle with here. Every option in this pack that lists a mod default is set to exactly that default, so you get the stock experience.[4]
Server config values
These live in config/arsdelight-server.toml. Each one below with a listed mod default matches it in this pack.[4]
- wildenSpellDamageBonus is 0.2 (mod default 0.2, allowed range 0.0 to 1.0).[4]
- wildenMaxManaBonus is 0.2 (mod default 0.2, allowed range 0.0 to 1.0).[4]
- wildenManaRegenBonus is 0.2 (mod default 0.2, allowed range 0.0 to 1.0).[4]
- maxShieldingAbsorption is 8 (mod default 8, allowed range 2.0 to 100.0).[4]
- drygmyFarmingDamageTool is 2 (mod default 2, allowed range 0 to 10,000).[4]
- drygmyFarmingToolPlainCopy is false. No mod default is listed for this one.[4]
Common config
In config/arsdelight-common.toml, enableThirstCompat is set to true in this pack. No mod default is listed for it, so there's no way to tell from here whether the pack changed it.[5]
