What is Create Crafts & Additions?
3 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
Create Crafts & Additions is an add-on for Create that links Create's kinetic energy with electricity. If you like building Create contraptions but also want a way to move power around as Forge Energy, this is the mod for you. This pack includes version 1.7.0.[1][2]
What it adds
The two core machines are the Electric Motor and the Alternator. The Electric Motor turns Forge Energy into kinetic energy. The Alternator does the reverse and turns kinetic energy into Forge Energy. To craft them you first build a Rolling Mill, a kinetic machine that makes rods and wires.[1]
- Energy transport: Connector and Wires, a Redstone Relay that controls energy flow with redstone, and a multiblock Accumulator for energy storage.[1]
- Portable Energy Interface: transfers energy to and from contraptions.[1]
- Tesla Coil: charges electric items, and can also damage players and mobs.[1]
- Creative Generator: a limitless supply of Forge Energy.[1]
- Extras: Biomass and Biomass Pellets for fuel, Straw that lets a Blaze Burner burn liquid fuels, Diamond Grit Sandpaper, Barbed Wire and a Chocolate and Honey Cake.[1]
- ComputerCraft support: the Electric Motor provides a peripheral, and the Digital Adapter lets computers talk to various Create blocks.[1]
Who it is for
It suits players who already use Create and want to connect it to the pack's energy-based machines, or who want electric power inside their Create builds. The mod's own FAQ says to check JEI for any recipe, so look there when you need one.[1]
Where it fits in the pack
Unverified No quests in this pack involve this mod, it is not on the ATM Star path, and no in-jar guidebook was found. Treat it as an optional extra that you pick up when it suits your build. The project page describes the Alternator as running at 75% efficiency, but I could not confirm whether this pack changes that.
How do you get started with Create Crafts & Additions?
6 parts
This mod is the bridge between Create's rotational force and electricity. The Electric Motor turns Forge Energy (FE) into rotation, and the Alternator does the reverse. Both are built from wires, spools and a capacitor, and those all start with one machine.[1][3]
Build the Rolling Mill first
The Rolling Mill is a kinetic machine that makes the rods and wires you need for the rest of the mod, so make it first.[1]
Crafting Shaped
| any iron plate | any iron plate | |
Recipe id: createaddition:crafting/rolling_mill
It needs rotational force to run. To use it by hand, drop ingots or plates on top of the mill, then right-click it to take out the results.[4]
Make wires and spools
The Rolling Mill turns plates into wires. An iron plate gives you Iron Wire and a gold plate gives you Gold Wire.[3]
Wires go onto an Empty Spool, so craft one of those first.[3]

Then you can make a Copper Spool or a Gold Spool. You hold one of these to link two connectors with a wire, and the copper spool is also an ingredient in the motor, the alternator and other machines below.[3][4]

Craft a Capacitor
The Capacitor is a key part of the motor, the alternator, the Tesla Coil and the modular accumulator. It uses zinc plates, and this pack changes the pressing recipe that makes a Zinc Sheet from a zinc ingot, so don't assume the mod's default applies.[3]

- The Alternator needs at least 32 RPM to run, and its energy output depends on the input RPM.[4]
- The Electric Motor needs a source of FE. Scrolling on its back panel changes its RPM, and its energy use depends on the RPM you set.[4]
Where to go next
For bulk storage, build the multiblock Accumulator. The older Accumulator is marked deprecated, and there is a conversion recipe to upgrade it.[3][4]

After that, the Portable Energy Interface moves energy to and from contraptions, and the Redstone Relay lets energy pass through when it receives a redstone signal.[1][4]
How does Create Crafts & Additions work?
8 parts
Create Crafts & Additions is a bridge between Create's rotational force and Forge Energy (FE). Everything in the mod either converts between the two, moves FE around, or stores it. This section covers how those pieces behave in this pack.[1]
Converting rotation and FE
The Electric Motor turns FE into rotational force. You scroll on its back panel to set the RPM of its output, and the energy it consumes depends on that RPM.[4]
- electric_motor.motor_rpm_range is 256, which is the motor's min/max RPM.[5]
- electric_motor.motor_min_consumption is 8 FE/t, the minimum energy the motor consumes.[5]
- electric_motor.motor_capacity is 5,000 FE of internal buffer.[5]
- electric_motor.motor_max_input is 5,000, the limit on energy transfer into the motor.[5]
The Alternator does the opposite. It needs at least 32 RPM to run, and its energy production depends on the input RPM. The mod's description says it converts at 75% efficiency, and this pack matches that.[1][4]
- alternator.generator_efficiency is 0.75.[5]
- alternator.generator_capacity is 2,000 FE of internal buffer.[5]
- alternator.generator_max_output is 300, the limit on energy transfer (not generation).[5]
Both machines share a conversion rate. general.fe_at_max_rpm is 480, meaning FE/t generated and consumed at 256 RPM.[5]
general.max_stress is 16,384 SU at 256 RPM, and it applies to both the Alternator and the Electric Motor.[5]

Wires and connectors
The Small Connector links FE-compatible blocks with wires so they can transfer energy. A connector can be cycled between Push, Pull, Passive and None modes. To make a wire, right-click two connectors while holding a Copper Spool or Gold Spool. The spool creates the link and gives you back an Empty Spool.[4]
To remove a wire, right-click the two linked connectors with an empty spool. It removes the link and returns a filled spool.[4]
wires.wire_length is 12, so a wire can be at most 12 blocks long in this pack.[5]
wires.connector_input_capacity is 1,000 FE, the size of a connector's internal input buffer.[5]
wires.connector_max_input is 1,000 FE/t for energy going into a connector.[5]
wires.connector_max_output is 1,000 FE/t for energy coming out of a connector.[5]
wires.connector_ignore_face_check is false, so the check for whether a block face can support a connector stays on.[5]

Storing energy: the multiblock Accumulator
The Accumulator is a multiblock structure that stores large amounts of FE. You configure one connector as the input and another as the output. To work better with other mods, it actively pushes energy into blocks placed on its top and bottom faces.[4]
- accumulator.accumulator_capacity is 4,000,000 FE per block.[5]
- accumulator.accumulator_max_width is 3, the maximum multiblock width.[5]
- accumulator.accumulator_max_height is 5, the maximum multiblock height.[5]
- accumulator.accumulator_max_input is 600 FE/t.[5]
- accumulator.accumulator_max_output is 600 FE/t.[5]
The older single-block Accumulator is marked deprecated in its tooltip. A shapeless conversion recipe turns it into the modular version.[3][4]

Energy on moving contraptions
Accumulators on a moving contraption can't connect to stationary connectors. The Portable Energy Interface solves that without stopping the contraption.[3][4]
- Put one interface on the contraption and a second one on the stationary side, with a gap of 1 or 2 blocks between them.[4]
- When they pass each other, they engage. While engaged, the stationary interface represents all Accumulators on the contraption.[4]
- Energy is exchanged according to the Push/Pull configuration of the connector.[4]
- After no energy has been exchanged for a while, the contraption continues on its way.[4]
portable_energy_interface.pei_max_input is 1,000 FE/t for energy going into the interface.[5]
portable_energy_interface.pei_max_output is 1,000 FE/t for energy coming out of the interface.[5]
Crafting Shapeless
Recipe id: createaddition:crafting/portable_energy_interface
Tesla Coil
The Tesla Coil charges items below it. That includes any Forge Energy item and more. It can also hurt nearby players and mobs, and this is activated with a redstone signal.[4]
- tesla_coil.tesla_coil_capacity is 40,000 FE of internal capacity.[5]
- tesla_coil.tesla_coil_max_input is 10,000 FE/t for energy transfer into the coil.[5]
- tesla_coil.tesla_coil_charge_rate is 5,000 FE/t when charging items.[5]
- tesla_coil.tesla_coil_recipe_charge_rate is 2,000 FE/t when charging for recipes.[5]
- tesla_coil.tesla_coil_hurt_energy_required is 1,000 FE consumed each time the coil fires.[5]
- tesla_coil.tesla_coil_fire_cooldown is 20 ticks between shots.[5]
- tesla_coil.tesla_coil_hurt_range is 3 blocks.[5]
- tesla_coil.tesla_coil_hurt_mob is 3 half hearts of damage to mobs.[5]
- tesla_coil.tesla_coil_hurt_player is 2 half hearts of damage to players.[5]
- tesla_coil.tesla_coil_effect_time_mob is 20 ticks of the Shocked effect on mobs. The effect causes severely reduced movement speed.[4][5]
- tesla_coil.tesla_coil_effect_time_player is 20 ticks of the Shocked effect on players.[5]

Rolling Mill and automation
The Rolling Mill uses rotational force to roll metals into rods and wires. By hand, you drop ingots or plates on top of it and right-click it to take the output. To automate it, use a belt and two funnels.[4]
rolling_mill.rolling_mill_processing_duration is 100 ticks per roll in this pack.[5]
rolling_mill.rolling_mill_stress is 16, the mill's base stress impact.[5]

Liquid and solid fuels
Give a Blaze Burner a Straw and it can take liquid fuels from buckets. Seed Oil is a simple flammable liquid, and Bioethanol is an efficient flammable liquid. Biomass Pellet is a powerful solid fuel.[3][4]
The pack changed the pellet recipe. It is a compacting recipe that turns biomass into a pellet and uses water.[3]

Computer control
The Electric Motor can be controlled with ComputerCraft. Connect to it with the peripheral wrap function on the side it is on, and use the in-game command for the API documentation. The Digital Adapter is a separate ComputerCraft peripheral that lets computers talk to several Create blocks, such as speedometers, stressometers and pulleys.[4]

How does Create Crafts & Additions work with other mods?
3 parts
Create Crafts & Additions is built as an add-on to Create, so most of its links to other mods run through Create parts. The pack also ties its cakes into the TFC and FirmaLife food chain. Everything below comes from the in-pack recipes.[1][3]
Create parts in the electric machines
The core machines are crafted from Create components. Create's Igneous Zinc Alloy, casings, Shaft and Primitive Electron Tube all turn up in these recipes. That is the bridge between kinetic and electric power. Start with the Rolling Mill, since it makes the rods and wires the rest of the mod relies on.[1][3]

Cakes with TFC and FirmaLife
Here the pack has changed the mod's recipes. Create's filling process on a Baked Cake Base now gives you TFC's Cake. Adding FirmaLife's Chocolate gives the Chocolate Cake.[3]
The pack also adds its own cutting recipes. You cut a Chocolate Cake or a Honey Cake into slices using any TFC knife, which takes damage as you do it.[3]

Which Create Crafts & Additions config options matter?
4 parts
Everything Create Crafts & Additions exposes lives in one file, config/createaddition-common.toml. Here are the values this pack uses for the options you're most likely to touch, grouped by what they affect.[5]
Motor and alternator
- general.fe_at_max_rpm is 480. This is the Forge Energy conversion rate in FE/t at 256 RPM, for both generating and consuming.[5]
- general.max_stress is 16,384 SU at 256 RPM, shared by the Alternator and the Electric Motor.[5]
- alternator.generator_efficiency is 0.75, so the Alternator runs at 75% efficiency. That matches how the mod describes it.[1][5]
- The Alternator holds 2,000 FE (alternator.generator_capacity). Its alternator.generator_max_output is 300, which limits energy transfer, not generation.[5]
- The Electric Motor has a capacity of 5,000 FE and a max input of 5,000 (electric_motor.motor_capacity, electric_motor.motor_max_input). Its minimum consumption is 8 FE/t (electric_motor.motor_min_consumption) and its RPM range is 256 (electric_motor.motor_rpm_range).[5]
Wires, accumulators and the Portable Energy Interface
- wires.wire_length is 12 blocks, so that's the longest wire you can run between connectors.[5]
- Connectors have an input buffer, max input and max output of 1,000 each (wires.connector_input_capacity, wires.connector_max_input, wires.connector_max_output). Throughput is in FE/t. wires.connector_ignore_face_check is false, so the face check is on.[5]
- Accumulators store 4,000,000 FE per block (accumulator.accumulator_capacity). Input and output are each capped at 600 FE/t (accumulator.accumulator_max_input, accumulator.accumulator_max_output). The multiblock can be up to 3 wide and 5 high (accumulator.accumulator_max_width, accumulator.accumulator_max_height).[5]
- The Portable Energy Interface moves up to 1,000 FE/t in and 1,000 FE/t out (portable_energy_interface.pei_max_input, portable_energy_interface.pei_max_output).[5]
Tesla Coil
- Energy: capacity is 40,000 FE, charge rate is 5,000 FE/t, max input is 10,000 FE/t, and the recipe charge rate is 2,000 FE/t (tesla_coil.tesla_coil_capacity, tesla_coil.tesla_coil_charge_rate, tesla_coil.tesla_coil_max_input, tesla_coil.tesla_coil_recipe_charge_rate).[5]
- Damage: each shot costs 1,000 FE (tesla_coil.tesla_coil_hurt_energy_required). It deals 3 half hearts to mobs and 2 to players (tesla_coil.tesla_coil_hurt_mob, tesla_coil.tesla_coil_hurt_player), out to a range of 3 blocks (tesla_coil.tesla_coil_hurt_range).[5]
- Timing: the coil fires every 20 ticks (tesla_coil.tesla_coil_fire_cooldown). The Shocked effect lasts 20 ticks for both mobs and players (tesla_coil.tesla_coil_effect_time_mob, tesla_coil.tesla_coil_effect_time_player).[5]
Rolling Mill and misc
- The Rolling Mill takes 100 ticks per operation (rolling_mill.rolling_mill_processing_duration) and has a base stress impact of 16 (rolling_mill.rolling_mill_stress).[5]
- Barbed Wire deals 2 damage (misc.barbed_wire_damage).[5]
- Diamond Grit Sandpaper lasts 1,024 uses (misc.diamond_grit_sandpaper_uses).[5]
