What is Reliquary Reincarnations?

Reliquary Reincarnations is part of the pack, and this guide covers version 2.0.56 (the 1.21.1 build). It has been in the pack since version 2.2 or earlier, so it's a long-standing part of the mod list.[1]

Unverified The sources I have don't describe what the mod does, who it suits or how its items work, so I'm not going to guess. There's also no in-jar guidebook to draw on. Check the mod's own item tooltips in-game for details.

Unverified The pack's data shows no quests that involve this mod, and it isn't on the ATM Star quest path. You won't be pushed toward it by quests, so treat it as optional exploration.

How do you get started with Reliquary Reincarnations?

4 parts

Reliquary is a mod of magic gadgets, and many of its recipes call for mod-specific materials like Catalyzing Gland and Nebulous Heart. A few useful items only need ordinary materials, though, so start with those and work toward the rest. Here's the order I'd go in.[2]

First: Emperor's Chalice, an infinite water source

The Emperor's Chalice is an infinite water bucket, so it's a great first craft. Its recipe uses no mod-specific materials, so you can make it right away. Its tooltip says you enable it to drain water and disable it to place water, and drinking from it restores hunger in exchange for life.[2][3]

Next: Glowing Water and Glowing Bread

Next, make Glowing Water, which harms undead enemies. There are two recipes for it. One is shown with the Condensed Potion Vial, which has its own simple recipe, and the other is the direct version.[2][3]

Then turn it into Glowing Bread. Its tooltip says it completely restores hunger, so it makes a great emergency food.[2][3]

Then: gather Molten Cores

Molten Core is listed as a Blaze or Magma Cube drop, and it feeds into many recipes, such as the Infernal Claw and the Interdiction Torch. The mod also has a Severing enchantment, which significantly increases your chance of Reliquary drops. The Magicbane has a higher chance of them too, and gets stronger with each enchantment.[2][3]

Later: Fertile Essence and the Lilypad of Fertility

Once you have the materials, Fertile Essence opens up several recipes, including the Harvest Rod and the Fertile Potion, which causes plants to grow.[2][3]

How does Reliquary Reincarnations work?

6 parts

Here is how Reliquary's main working blocks behave in this pack, going by the mod's in-game descriptions and the pack's config: a sunlight-powered altar, potion brewing, pedestals that automate simple jobs, a couple of area blocks and the Destruction Catalyst. Numbers come from the pack's config.[3][4]

Altar of Light

The mod's description says the Altar of Light turns redstone into glowstone. You right-click it with redstone until it activates, and after some time a glowstone block appears on top of it. It needs to be in direct sunlight to work, so put it somewhere open.[2][3]

In this pack, activating it costs 3 redstone (blocks.altar.redstoneCost). The base wait is 20 minutes (blocks.altar.timeInMinutes). A random extra of up to 5 minutes is added on top (blocks.altar.maximumTimeVarianceInMinutes). While active it gives off light level 16 (blocks.altar.outputLightLevelWhileActive). All of these match the mod's own defaults.[4]

Altar of LightMod recipe

Crafting Shapeless

Recipe id: reliquary:alkahestry_altar

The mod's description says Alkahestry can turn glowstone back into redstone, but that relies on the Alkahestry Tome. The pack has disable.alkahestryTome set to true, which disables the tome and its recipes. Don't plan around the tome in this pack.[3][4]

Potion brewing

The mod's description says potions start in the Apothecary Mortar, which grinds ingredients into potion essence, and that you can combine several ingredients in one mortar. The Apothecary Cauldron then combines potion essences with nether wart into potions.[2][3]

According to the mod's description, the cauldron needs a lit fire underneath it and water inside to start, and you need empty potion vials to get the potion out of it.[3]

Crafting Shaped

5 × any glass panes

Recipe id: reliquary:empty_potion_vial

Per the mod's description, these are what you use to get potions out of the cauldron.

The pack's cauldron settings are all the mod defaults. Cook time is 160 (blocks.apothecaryCauldron.cookTime); the config doesn't state the unit. You can add up to 2 glowstone to make a potion more potent (blocks.apothecaryCauldron.glowstoneLimit). You can add up to 3 redstone to make it last longer (blocks.apothecaryCauldron.redstoneLimit). The extra heat-source list (blocks.apothecaryCauldron.heatSources) is empty in this pack.[4]

The whole potion system, including the mortar and altar, can be switched off with disable.potion. It is false here, so it's active.[4]

Pedestals and automation

The pedestal is Reliquary's automation block, and its in-game description says it automates stuff and things placed in it. According to the config, what it does depends on the item you put on top, which the config calls a wrapper. A separate passive pedestal is described as a fancy display of items. Neither pedestal type is disabled in this pack (disable.pedestal, disable.passivePedestal).[3][4]

Area blocks

The Lilypad of Fertility speeds up crop growth. It gives nearby crops growth ticks every 10 seconds, out to a radius of 4. Within a radius of 1 the ticks happen most often (blocks.fertileLilypad.secondsBetweenGrowthTicks, blocks.fertileLilypad.tileRange, blocks.fertileLilypad.fullPotencyRange). Those are the mod defaults, but the crafting recipe is the pack's own.[2][3][4]

The Interdiction Torch's in-game description says it repels creatures and projectiles. In this pack, though, blocks.interdictionTorch.canPushProjectiles is false, so don't count on it for projectiles. Its push radius is 5 (blocks.interdictionTorch.pushRadius), and the blacklists for entities and projectiles are empty.[3][4]

Destruction Catalyst

The mod's description says the Destruction Catalyst consumes gunpowder to destroy only "mundane" blocks, leaving every other block in place, and that blocks destroyed this way leave no drops behind. The config lets it store gunpowder.[2][3][4]

How do you progress through Reliquary Reincarnations?

7 parts

Unverified The sources here show no quest chapter for this mod, and it does not appear on the main quest path. The order below is not a quest line: it is built from how the in-pack recipes depend on each other.

Reliquary has no single linear tech tree in this pack. A few drops act as progress markers, and the sections below are grouped around them: the Catalyzing Gland, the Nebulous Heart, the Molten Core and the Slime Pearl.[2]

Starting out: no special drops

Some recipes use only ordinary materials, so you can make them right away. The Condensed Potion Vial comes from glass panes alone, the Empty Magazine uses glass blocks, iron and stone, and the Emperor's Chalice uses a bucket, an emerald and a gold ingot.[2]

The basic ammo needs no mod drops either: Neutral Shot, Seeker Shot, Blaze Shot, Concussive Shot and Sand Shot. You can also make Glowing Water and turn it into Glowing Bread at this stage.[2]

Catalyzing Gland and Nebulous Heart

Once you have a Catalyzing Gland, you can make the Apothecary Mortar, Storm Shot, the Holy Hand Grenade and Buster Shot (which builds on a Concussive Shot). The gland is also part of Fertile Essence.[2]

The Nebulous Heart opens up a bigger group of items: Magicbane, Crimson Cloth, Ender Staff, Coin of Fortune, Angelic Feather, Kraken Shell and Ender Shot. The Altar of Light needs both a Catalyzing Gland and a Nebulous Heart.[2]

Fertile Essence branch

Fertile Essence feeds several items: Harvest Rod, Fertile Potion, Aphrodite's Serum and the Angelheart Vial. The pack also adds its own recipe for the Lilypad of Fertility, shown below.[2]

Molten Core and the Infernal line

The Molten Core is the gate to tougher gear: the Apothecary Cauldron, Touchstone of Midas, Lantern Of Paranoia and Interdiction Torch all call for it. The Infernal Claw is built with a Molten Core, and the rest of the Infernal line builds on that claw.[2]

  1. Craft an Infernal Claw.[2]
  2. Combine that claw with a Slime Pearl to get Infernal Claws.[2]
  3. Combine an Infernal Claw, a Molten Core and a Witch Hat to get an Infernal Tear.[2]
  4. Finish with the Infernal Chalice, which takes an Emperor's Chalice, Infernal Claws, an Infernal Tear and a Molten Core.[2]

Crafting Shapeless

Recipe id: reliquary:infernal_chalice

The Infernal Chalice is the end of this chain.

The Hero's Medallion sits at a similar depth. It needs a Coin of Fortune, an Infernal Tear, a Nebulous Heart and a Witch Hat. The Destruction Catalyst also uses an Infernal Tear.[2]

The Hunter's Handgun

The Hunter's Handgun is a multi-step build. You make the Barrel Assembly, the Grip Assembly and the Hammer Assembly first, then combine them in the handgun recipe below.[2]

Mob charms and pedestals

Mob charm fragments each have their own recipe, and the ingredients vary by mob. The Enderman fragment uses a Nebulous Heart and an ender pearl, and the Magma Cube fragment uses a Molten Core and magma cream. A fragment can then be turned into a Charm Belt with leather.[2]

Each colored pedestal is crafted from its matching passive pedestal plus a diamond, for example Lime Pedestal from Lime Passive Pedestal.[2]

How does Reliquary Reincarnations work with other mods?

3 parts

Reliquary Reincarnations items are used in several recipes that the pack added around other mods. None of these are mod defaults, and each one links this mod to another mod's items.[2]

Withering Soul

The Witherless Rose is an input in a shaped crafting recipe for the Withering Soul. The pack added this recipe, and it also uses a Wither Skeleton Skull.[2]

Lilypad of Fertility

In this pack the Lilypad of Fertility is made with a Mystical Agriculture awakening recipe. Fertile Essence is one of its inputs, and the recipe also pulls in the Vibranium Plate, a Lily Pad and the air, earth, fire and water essences from Mystical Agriculture.[2]

Holy Hand Grenade in the Runic Crucible

The Holy Hand Grenade is an input in two pack-added Runic Crucible recipes. The first uses the Modern Industrialization runic crucible recipe type and produces an Enchanted Soul. Besides the grenade, it takes a Soul, Liquid Aureal and starbunclemania:source_fluid.[2]

Which Reliquary Reincarnations config options matter?

4 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide

Reliquary Reincarnations keeps its settings in config/reliquary-common.toml. Every numeric option in this pack's copy of that file that lists a mod default is set to exactly that default, so the pack has not changed any of those numbers and you get the mod's stock balance. The real pack-level choices are the on/off switches below.[5]

Features the pack turns off or leaves on

Life-savers and protection

The Phoenix Down heals items.PhoenixDown.healPercentageOfMaxLife percent of your max life when it saves you, which is 100, and its items.PhoenixDown.hungerCostPercent is 25. It also removes negative statuses and gives temporary regeneration and damage resistance. The fire resistance and water breathing extras are on too, but they only apply when fire or drowning was what got you.[5]

The Angelheart Vial is the weaker option. Its items.angelheartVial.healPercentageOfMaxLife is 25 percent of your max life, and it also removes negative statuses.[5]

Mob charms have a items.mobCharm.durability of 80. Each kill of a mob a charm protects you from costs the amount set in items.mobCharm.damagePerKill, which is 1, and each special drop repairs the amount in items.mobCharm.dropDurabilityRepair, which is 20. In a pedestal, a charm works over the items.mobCharm.pedestalRange, which is 21.[5]

Storage limits worth knowing

Potion settings

The potion display options only control what shows up in creative tabs and JEI. potions.maxEffectCount is 1, while potions.redstoneAndGlowstone, potions.threeIngredients and potions.differentDurations are all false.[5]

In the apothecary cauldron itself, blocks.apothecaryCauldron.redstoneLimit is 3 and blocks.apothecaryCauldron.glowstoneLimit is 2, so you can add up to 3 redstone to make a potion last longer and up to 2 glowstone to make it more potent. blocks.apothecaryCauldron.cookTime is 160.[5]

What changed in Reliquary Reincarnations between versions?

1 part

Reliquary Reincarnations has been in All the Mods 10 since version 2.2 or earlier. All the Mods 10 4.5 ships version 2.0.56, using the file reliquary-1.21.1-2.0.56.1278.jar.[1]

Version bumps in the pack changelogs

These are the updates to the mod that I can confirm from the pack changelogs, newest first.[6][7][8]

  • All the Mods 10 4.5: updated from 2.0.48 to 2.0.56.[6]
  • All the Mods 10 2.42: updated from 2.0.47 to 2.0.48.[7]
  • All the Mods 10 2.36: updated from 2.0.45 to 2.0.47.[8]

Unverified The pack changelogs only list version numbers, and there are no stored changelogs for the shipped jars. I can't say what gameplay, balance or recipe changes came with any of these updates. If you rely on a specific Reliquary item or mechanic, check it in-game on 4.5 rather than assuming it behaves like an older version.
