What is More Industrial Foregoing Addons (MIFA)?

2 parts

More Industrial Foregoing Addons (MIFA) is an add-on for Industrial Foregoing. It adds higher tiers of efficiency, processing and speed addons, so you can push your Industrial Foregoing machines further than the base mod allows. It also adds detailed tooltips.[1]

Who it's for

This mod is for you if you already run Industrial Foregoing machines and want to upgrade them. If you haven't built any of those machines yet, you won't get much from it, because the addons only improve what Industrial Foregoing already offers.[1]

In this pack

The pack ships MIFA version 1.0.0, built for NeoForge on Minecraft 1.21.x. It has been in the pack since version 1.4 or earlier, so it's a long-standing part of the modlist and not a recent addition.[2]

The mod is MIT licensed.[1]

Unverified The sources I have don't show where MIFA fits in the pack's progression, whether the pack changes any of its recipes or values, or whether any quests involve it. Treat any claim about those as unconfirmed for now.

How do you get started with More Industrial Foregoing Addons (MIFA)?

3 parts

More Industrial Foregoing Addons adds higher tiers of the efficiency, processing and speed addons for Industrial Foregoing. In this pack that means tier 3 and tier 4 of each addon, so your first steps are about getting those upgrades unlocked in a sensible order.[1][3]

Every addon from this mod is made in the Dissolution Chamber from Industrial Foregoing. Tier 3 upgrades the matching tier 2 addon, and tier 4 upgrades the tier 3 one. You can't skip a tier.[3]

Start with Netherite Gear

The three tier 3 recipes all call for netherite gear, so make it before anything else. In this pack Netherite Gear has its own smithing recipe, shown below.[3]

Step 2: Tier 3 addons

Next, upgrade your tier 2 addons to tier 3. Pick whichever addon helps your current machines most. These are the in-pack recipes for Speed Addon 3, Efficiency Addon 3 and Processing Addon 3.[3]

Step 3: Tier 4 addons

Once you have a tier 3 addon, you can turn it into tier 4: Speed Addon 4, Efficiency Addon 4 or Processing Addon 4. The in-pack recipes are shown below, so check each one before you start gathering.[3]

Tip: Netherite gear only appears in the tier 3 recipes. The tier 4 efficiency, processing and speed recipes build on the tier 3 addon you already made, so netherite gear is a one-time cost per addon type.[3]

How does More Industrial Foregoing Addons (MIFA) work?

4 parts

MIFA doesn't add new machines or multiblocks. It extends Industrial Foregoing with higher-tier efficiency, processing and speed addons, plus detailed tooltips. So the core mechanics here are about the upgrade items and how you make them.[1]

The addon tiers

The mod adds a tier 3 and a tier 4 version of each addon line: Efficiency Addon 3 and Efficiency Addon 4, Processing Addon 3 and Processing Addon 4, and Speed Addon 3 and Speed Addon 4.[1][3]

In this pack, every one of these is made in the Dissolution Chamber from Industrial Foregoing. Tier 3 builds on the tier 2 addon from Industrial Foregoing, and tier 4 builds on the matching MIFA tier 3 addon. You can't skip a step.[3]

Crafting the addons

Here are the exact in-pack Dissolution Chamber recipes, starting with efficiency.[3]

Next, the processing line.[3]

Finally, the speed line.[3]

Tip: Tier 3 and tier 4 recipes need different Dissolution Chamber fluids. Check the fluid line in each recipe above before you plan your fluid automation.[3]

Netherite Gear

The mod also has a Netherite Gear item. In this pack it is made at a smithing table.[3]

What the sources don't confirm

Unverified The exact bonuses the tier 3 and tier 4 addons give (speed, energy use, output or slot limits) are not confirmed. The pack has no config files for this mod, and no tooltip or guidebook text was available.

Unverified Whether the Netherite Gear item is accepted wherever a recipe asks for a netherite gear is not confirmed. Check the recipe display in game before crafting.

How do you progress through More Industrial Foregoing Addons (MIFA)?

5 parts

In this pack, the addons from this mod sit two steps above the tier 2 addons from Industrial Foregoing. You get tier 3 and tier 4 versions of the speed, efficiency and processing addons. All six are made in the Dissolution Chamber, and each one is built from the addon one tier below it, so you can't skip a tier.[3]

The upgrade chain

  1. Start with the tier 2 version of the addon you want. It comes from Industrial Foregoing, not from this mod.[3]
  2. Make the tier 3 addon in the Dissolution Chamber. Its recipe takes the tier 2 addon as an input.[3]
  3. Make the tier 4 addon in the Dissolution Chamber. Its recipe takes the tier 3 addon as an input.[3]

Speed addons

Speed Addon 3 is the first step up from the tier 2 speed addon, and Speed Addon 4 is made from it.[3]

Efficiency addons

Processing addons

Netherite Gear

The mod also adds Netherite Gear, which comes from a smithing recipe rather than the Dissolution Chamber.[3]

Unverified All three tier 3 addon recipes ask for an item from the netherite gear tag. It is not confirmed here whether the mod's Netherite Gear item counts for that tag, so check in game before you plan your crafting.

How does More Industrial Foregoing Addons (MIFA) work with other mods?

3 parts

MIFA is built around one mod: Industrial Foregoing. It adds higher tiers of efficiency, processing and speed addons for Industrial Foregoing machines, so almost every connection you'll see is a recipe that starts from Industrial Foregoing items.[1]

In this pack, all six MIFA addons in the recipe dump are crafted in Industrial Foregoing's Dissolution Chamber. The upgrade path is simple: you take the Industrial Foregoing tier 2 addon, turn it into the MIFA tier 3 addon, then turn that into tier 4.[3]

Tier 3 addons

The tier 3 addons start from Efficiency Addon Tier 2, Processing Addon Tier 2 and Speed Addon Tier 2. Each one also needs Pink Slime, so you'll want that fluid set up first.[3]

Tier 4 addons

For tier 4, the fluid changes to Ether Gas, and you feed in the matching MIFA tier 3 addon. All three tier 4 recipes also use a Echo Shard.[3]

Dissolution Chamber (industrialforegoing)

Other items these recipes pull in

  • Vanilla items show up as flavor for each addon type: Sugar in the speed addons, and Crafting Table plus Furnace in the processing addons.[3]
  • Every recipe uses redstone dust and colorless glass panes through item tags, so any item in those tags works.[3]
  • The tier 3 recipes ask for a netherite gear from the netherite gear tag, and the efficiency recipes (tier 3 and 4) ask for a blaze rod from the blaze rod tag. Any item in those tags should be accepted.[3]

Unverified The recipe dump only shows tags for the netherite gear, blaze rod, redstone dust and glass pane ingredients, so it doesn't confirm which mods in the pack supply those items.

What changed in More Industrial Foregoing Addons (MIFA) between versions?

1 part

There isn't much history to cover yet, and that's good news: More Industrial Foregoing Addons (MIFA) is on its first release in the pack. All the Mods 10 1.7 ships version 1.0.0 (the NeoForge 1.21.x build), and the mod has been in the pack since All the Mods 10 1.4 or earlier.[2]

Mod changelog

  • 1.0.0: the mod was ported to 1.21.x. That is the only entry in the mod's own changelog.[4]

The pack changelogs have no entries for this mod, so there are no pack-side changes to the mod to report.[2]
