What is Mama's Herbs and Harvest?
Mama's Herbs and Harvest is part of the pack, and you'll find version 1.0.0 in this version (the file is herbsandharvest-1.21.1-2.jar). It has been in the pack since 2.4 or earlier, so it isn't a new addition.[1]
Unverified I don't have a description, an in-mod guidebook, or any quest data for this mod, so I can't confirm what it adds, who it suits best, or where it fits in the pack's progression. This guide doesn't cover any recipes or config options for it yet. Check back once more information is available.
How do you get started with Mama's Herbs and Harvest?
3 parts
Mama's Herbs and Harvest adds crops, herbs, berries and fruit tree saplings. This page sticks to what the pack's recipes show, in the order I'd go through them.[2]
Step one: make a Produce Basket
Start with the herbsandharvest:empty_basket. It uses the mod's own crafting recipe, which the pack has not changed, so it's the simplest first thing to make. The recipe is below.[2]
This is the mod's own shaped crafting recipe, not a pack change.
Step two: get fruit tree saplings from the Market
The pack adds Farming for Blockheads Market recipes for eight saplings: Peach Fruit Sapling, Cherry Fruit Sapling, Lemon Fruit Sapling, Pear Fruit Sapling, Plum Fruit Sapling, Avocado Fruit Sapling, Orange Fruit Sapling and Lime Sapling. The recipe dump lists no item inputs for any of them.[2]

Peach Sapling as an example. This Market recipe was added by the pack, and the other saplings follow the same pattern.
Step three: grow crops and herbs in the cloche
The pack also adds Immersive Engineering cloche recipes for the mod's crops. Each one takes the seeds plus dirt and gives back the crop together with its seeds.[2]
Cloche (immersiveengineering)

Radish as an example of the pattern. This cloche recipe was added by the pack.
Cloche recipes cover vegetables and fruit such as Tomato, Lettuce, Cabbage, Broccoli, Strawberry, Pineapple and Eggplant. Grains are included too: Barley and Rye.[2]
Herbs work the same way. Seeds like Basil Seeds, Mint Seeds, Thyme Seeds and Rosemary Seeds give back Fresh Basil, Fresh Mint, Fresh Thyme and Fresh Rosemary, plus the seeds again.[2]
How does Mama's Herbs and Harvest work?
3 parts
Here's the honest picture first: the sources for this pack only cover how Mama's Herbs and Harvest items are obtained. They say nothing about machines, multiblocks, power or fluids of the mod itself, so this section sticks to what the recipe data shows. In this pack, crops, herbs and fruit saplings are tied into other mods' systems.[2]
Carrying your harvest
The herbsandharvest:empty_basket is crafted with a shaped crafting recipe that comes from the mod itself, not from the pack.[2]
This is the mod's own shaped crafting recipe for the Produce Basket.
Automating crops with the cloche
The pack adds Immersive Engineering cloche recipes for this mod's crops, so you can grow them in a machine. Each recipe shown gives you the harvested crop and also returns the seed as an output.[2]
Cloche (immersiveengineering)
Recipe id: immersiveengineering:kjs/18a6k0awbvbkm1adfkwm1lavm
Example: the Radish cloche recipe, added by the pack. It outputs the Radish and the radish seeds.
The cloche recipes shown cover these vegetables and fruits: Radish, Asparagus, Strawberry, Rye, Lettuce, Blackberry, Tomato, Turnip, Raspberry, Cucumber, Zucchini, Eggplant and Green Beans.[2]
Herbs work the same way. The cloche recipes turn Thyme Seeds, Peppercorn Seeds, Cilantro Seeds, Mint Seeds, Sage Seeds and Oregano Seeds into Fresh Thyme, Fresh Peppercorn, Fresh Cilantro, Fresh Mint, Fresh Sage and Fresh Oregano, with the seeds coming back too.[2]
Fruit saplings from the market
Fruit trees are handled differently. The pack adds Farming for Blockheads market recipes for eight saplings: Peach Fruit Sapling, Cherry Fruit Sapling, Lemon Fruit Sapling, Pear Fruit Sapling, Plum Fruit Sapling, Avocado Fruit Sapling, Orange Fruit Sapling and Lime Sapling. The recipe data lists no item inputs for any of them.[2]
Unverified The recipe data leaves out 17 more recipes, and the pack has no config files or guidebook entries for this mod that the sources here show. Growth times, crop yields, tree behaviour and any machines of the mod itself are therefore unverified.
How do you progress through Mama's Herbs and Harvest?
3 parts
Mama's Herbs and Harvest has no tier ladder in this pack. Progression here is about how you get your crops and trees, not about unlocking gear. The recipe data shows three steps: craft a basket, pick up fruit saplings from a market, and automate crops with a cloche.[2]
Unverified The sources here show no quests for this mod, and it is not on the ATM Star quest path, so there is no quest-driven progression to follow for it.
Step 1: The Produce Basket
The herbsandharvest:empty_basket uses the mod's own recipe, which the pack does not change. It is a shaped crafting recipe that uses bamboo.[2]
This is the mod's own shaped crafting recipe for the Produce Basket.
Step 2: Fruit saplings from the market
The pack adds market recipes (the Farming for Blockheads market type) that output the mod's fruit saplings. The recipe dump lists no item inputs for any of them. Here is what you can get:[2]
- Peach Fruit Sapling and Cherry Fruit Sapling[2]
- Lemon Fruit Sapling and Lime Sapling[2]
- Orange Fruit Sapling and Pear Fruit Sapling[2]
- Plum Fruit Sapling and Avocado Fruit Sapling[2]
Step 3: Automating crops in the cloche
The pack adds Immersive Engineering cloche recipes for the mod's crops. Each one takes a seed plus dirt and gives back the crop and the seed. Herb recipes work the same way but give the fresh herb instead.[2]
Cloche (immersiveengineering)

Radish is one example of the cloche pattern: seeds plus dirt in, crop plus seeds out.
Here is what the cloche covers, grouped by type.[2]
- Vegetables: Radish, Asparagus, Lettuce, Tomato, Turnip, Cucumber, Zucchini, Eggplant, Green Beans, Celery, Squash, Broccoli, Cabbage, Cauliflower and Green Pepper.[2]
- Berries: Strawberry, Blackberry, Raspberry and Blueberry.[2]
- Grains and fruit: Rye, Barley and Pineapple.[2]
- Herbs: Fresh Thyme, Fresh Peppercorn, Fresh Cilantro, Fresh Mint, Fresh Sage, Fresh Oregano, Fresh Mustard, Fresh Parsley, Fresh Bay Leaf, Fresh Chive, Fresh Basil, Fresh Rosemary, Fresh Lemongrass and Fresh Dill.[2]
How does Mama's Herbs and Harvest work with other mods?
1 part
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
The only connection between this mod and another mod that the pack's recipes confirm is a single crafting recipe. No quests in this pack involve the mod.[3]
Bottle of Mint
You can combine Fresh Mint with a Glass Bottle to get a Bottle of Mint. It's a shapeless crafting recipe, so the ingredients can go anywhere in the crafting grid.[3]
Shapeless, so placement in the crafting grid doesn't matter.
If you're growing mint with this mod, this recipe is where it connects to the other mod's items.[3]
