What is Mama's Herbs and Harvest?
Mama's Herbs and Harvest is part of this pack, shipped as version 1.21.1-12 (the file herbsandharvest-1.21.1-12.jar). It isn't a new addition. It has been in the modlist since pack version 2.25 or earlier, so it's a settled part of the lineup.[1]
Unverified What the mod adds, who it's aimed at and where it fits in the pack's progression can't be confirmed yet, so those details are left out. Look the mod up in-game with a recipe viewer to see its items and recipes. This site does hold All the Mods 10's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
How do you get started with Mama's Herbs and Harvest?
4 parts
Mama's Herbs and Harvest is all about growing crops and turning them into proper meals, from simple bread slices up to pies, cakes and big pots of soup. The good news for your first steps is that everything covered here is made in a regular crafting table, so you don't need any special machine to get going.[2]
Step 1: Turn your first crops into seeds
Once you have a crop from this mod in hand, you can craft it straight into its own seeds, so a single harvest is enough to start a farm. For example, Barley crafts into Barley Seeds. Not sure which seed a crop gives? Hover over it and the tooltip tells you.[2][3]
The same one-crop-to-seeds pattern works for the other crops below.
- Asparagus crafts into Asparagus Seeds.[2]
- Blueberry crafts into Blueberry Seeds, and Blackberry into Blackberry Seeds.[2]
- Broccoli, Cauliflower, Cabbage and Celery each craft into their own seeds as well.[2]
Unverified Where you find the very first crops of this mod in the world (wild plants, loot or trades) could not be confirmed from the available sources.
Step 2: Set up your kitchen blocks
Next, grab the mod's utility blocks. The Butter Churn and Cake Stand use only basic wooden items, and the Cheese Aging Shelf is made from planks and slabs, so all three are cheap to build early.[2]

While you're at it, craft a Wood Board. It's the base for the Charcuterie Board later on.[2]
Unverified How exactly the Butter Churn and the Cheese Aging Shelf work (what goes in, what comes out and how long it takes) is not covered by the available sources.
Step 3: Make easy first foods
A few recipes need just one ingredient, which makes them perfect early snacks and building blocks. Bread Slice is also what goes into the Beef and Cheddar Sandwich, and your barley turns into Barley Bread or Barley Slice.[2]

Step 4: Plan for the ingredients that keep coming back
Before you chase bigger meals, note which of the mod's own ingredients show up again and again. Ground Cinnamon goes into muffins, pies and carrot cake. Chopped herbs like Chopped Thyme, Chopped Parsley, Chopped Sage and Chopped Bay Leaves are used in pot pies and soups. Every soup pot, like the Pot of Chicken Noodle Soup, needs an Empty Pot.[2]
Herbs grow as crops too, and their tooltips help you keep track: a herb crop tells you which fresh herb it gives, such as Fresh Rosemary, and a placeable herb tells you which seeds it uses.[3]
Unverified The recipes for Ground Cinnamon, the chopped herbs, Oil and the Empty Pot were not among the available sources, so how you make them in this pack could not be confirmed here.
How does Mama's Herbs and Harvest work?
6 parts
If you're expecting grinders, power cables or multiblocks, this mod works differently. Every recipe from it in the part of this pack's recipe dump available here is a regular crafting table recipe, mostly shapeless. The core loop is simple: grow crops, turn them into ingredients, then combine those into meals at a crafting table.[2]
Unverified The sources don't describe any machines, multiblocks, power, fluid or item handling, or automation for this mod. Only part of the pack's recipe list was available, so it can't be confirmed whether any of these exist in this pack.
Crops and seeds
The mod adds a lot of fruit and vegetable crops. Hover over produce like Asparagus, Blueberry or Blackberry and the tooltip tells you which seed it comes from, such as Asparagus Seeds or Blueberry Seeds. The same kind of tooltip shows up on broccoli, cauliflower, cucumber, eggplant, green beans, green peppers, pineapple, raspberries, strawberries and zucchini.[3]
Once you've got a crop, you can keep the farm going without hunting for more seeds. In this pack, a single piece of produce crafts straight back into its seeds. For example, Barley becomes Barley Seeds and Asparagus becomes Asparagus Seeds.[2]
The same pattern works for barley, asparagus and blackberries.
Herbs
Herbs are their own category. Their crop blocks show which fresh herb they give, like Fresh Rosemary, Fresh Bay Leaf, Fresh Cilantro Herb, Fresh Lemongrass or Fresh Peppercorn. The placeable herb blocks show which seeds they come from, such as Rosemary Seeds or Peppercorn Seeds.[3]
Herbs matter in the kitchen because prepared herb and spice items like Chopped Sage, Chopped Thyme and Ground Cinnamon show up in many of the pack's dishes. Hearty meals like the Beef Pot Pie and baked goods like the Apple Cinnamon Muffin both use them.[2]
Dairy types
Cheeses carry a Dairy Type tooltip that lists two animals. Feta Wedge shows Camel and Goat, Parmesan shows Cow and Goat, Swiss shows Goat and Sheep, and Ricotta shows Camel and Sheep. Raw and aged versions of a cheese list the same types.[3]
Unverified The sources don't explain what the Dairy Type tooltip does in gameplay, for example whether you need milk from one of those animals to make that cheese.
Tag-based ingredients
Many of the pack's recipes don't ask for one specific item. Instead they take anything in a shared ingredient tag, like any butter, any egg, any milk, any sugar or any tomato. So an item from another mod that counts as butter or tomato can fill that slot. The recipe viewer on this site shows exactly which items fit.[2]

Prep items and containers
Some recipes turn a basic item into a kitchen ingredient. Bread Slice is cut from any bread, Barley Slice comes from barley, and the Wood Board has its own simple recipe. Containers also play a role: the Pot of Beef Stew needs an Empty Pot, and Blackberry Jam needs a Spice Jar Item.[2]

Pan meals
At the top end are the pan meals: full plated dinners whose tooltips spell out what's on the plate. Examples include Garlic Chicken with Lemon, Lamb Chops with Mint, Lasagna with Caesar Salad, Meatloaf with Mashed Potatoes, and Beef Wellington with Mashed Potatoes and Vegetable Medley.[3]
Unverified The available sources don't cover how the pan meals are crafted, placed or eaten.
How do you progress through Mama's Herbs and Harvest?
4 parts
Mama's Herbs and Harvest doesn't gate its content behind machine tiers the way a tech mod would. Progression here is a food chain: you make a few simple kitchen blocks, grow crops and herbs, turn those into prep ingredients, then combine everything into full meals. Every recipe covered in this section is a regular crafting table recipe, so you won't need any machines to follow the chain.[2]
Step 1: Kitchen blocks
Start with the kitchen furniture. The Butter Churn, Cake Stand and Cheese Aging Shelf only need basic wood items, so you can craft all three on your first day. The Wood Board also comes straight from wood, and you'll want it later for the Charcuterie Board.[2]

Step 2: Crops and seeds
Next, get your farm going. The mod's crops can be crafted back into their own seeds, so a single harvested crop is enough to start a new field. This works for Asparagus, Barley, Blackberry, Blueberry, Broccoli, Cabbage, Cauliflower and Celery.[2]
The other crops follow the same one-crop-to-seeds pattern.
Step 3: Herbs and prep ingredients
Most of the bigger dishes need chopped herbs rather than fresh ones. Each fresh herb crafts into its chopped form: Chopped Basil, Chopped Bay Leaves, Chopped Chives, Chopped Cilantro, Chopped Dill, Chopped Lemongrass, Chopped Mint, Chopped Mustard, Chopped Oregano, Chopped Parsley, Chopped Rosemary, Chopped Sage and Chopped Thyme. Thyme and parsley are the busiest ones, showing up in several pot pies and soups.[2]
Alongside herbs, you'll build up a stock of prep ingredients. You can slice any bread into a Bread Slice, turn raw chicken into a Raw Chicken Cutlet, turn a Cooked Sausage into Cooked Sausages, and make Cream Cheese. Cream Cheese is worth batching, because several bagels, cakes and cupcakes call for it.[2]

Unverified The recipes available here don't show how you get fresh herbs, Ginger Root, Ground Cinnamon, Oil, the Empty Pot, Graham Crackers, Feta Wedges or Caravane Wedges. Check JEI or EMI in-game for these. This site does hold All the Mods 10's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
Step 4: Full dishes
Once your pantry is stocked, the finished meals open up. Each family of dishes leans on one or two key mod ingredients, so it helps to work toward those first.[2]
- Pies, muffins and cakes such as the Apple Pie, Blueberry Muffin and Carrot Cake mostly need Ground Cinnamon, and the cakes and cupcakes often need Oil too.[2]
- Pot soups like the Pot of Chicken Noodle Soup, Pot of Beef Stew and Pot of Corn Chowder each need an Empty Pot plus chopped herbs.[2]
- The Cheesecake and Blueberry Cheesecake both need Graham Crackers.[2]
- The Charcuterie Board needs a Wood Board and a Caravane Wedge, while the Avocado Toast with Tomatoes and Feta and Chef Salad need a Feta Wedge.[2]

How does Mama's Herbs and Harvest work with other mods?
1 part
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
The only connection between this mod and another mod that the pack's recipes confirm is a single crafting recipe. No quests in this pack involve the mod.[4]
Bottle of Mint
You can combine Fresh Mint with a Glass Bottle to get a Bottle of Mint. It's a shapeless crafting recipe, so the ingredients can go anywhere in the crafting grid.[4]
Shapeless, so placement in the crafting grid doesn't matter.
If you're growing mint with this mod, this recipe is where it connects to the other mod's items.[4]
