What is Ars Ocultas?
2 parts
Ars Ocultas is a small bridge mod that connects Ars Nouveau and Occultism. If you're already summoning spirits in Occultism and playing with Ars Nouveau's magic, this mod lets the two work together instead of living in separate corners of your base.[1]
In All the Mods 10 5.5 you're running Ars Ocultas version 2.2.0. It has been in the pack since version 2.25 or earlier, so it isn't a recent addition.[2]
What it adds
The big idea is that your Occultism spirits can now work from inside Ars Nouveau's Containment Jars. Here's what that gets you:[1]
- A spirit in a jar automatically pulls in items from a 7x7 area around it and processes them.[1]
- You can also right-click an item on the jar to have the spirit process it by hand.[1]
- Jars holding spirits accept items from automation, so pipes, hoppers and starbuncles can all feed them.[1]
- Janitor spirits get a special trick: they try to push their contents into an inventory placed on top of the jar.[1]
- The mod page also lists new recipes meant to make progression easier, plus some quality-of-life changes.[1]
Who it's for
This one is for you if you're playing Ars Nouveau and Occultism together and want spirits that fit into a jar-based, automated setup rather than running around loose in your base.[1]
Unverified The mod page points to an Ars Ocultas section in the Worn Notebook, Ars Nouveau's guidebook, for a full overview, but that section couldn't be confirmed for this pack. It also isn't confirmed whether the mod's progression recipes are unchanged in All the Mods 10 5.5, or exactly where the mod sits in the pack's progression and the ATM Star path.
How do you get started with Ars Ocultas?
2 parts
Ars Ocultas bridges Ars Nouveau and Occultism. Its big feature is that Occultism spirits can now work from inside an Ars Nouveau Containment Jar. That turns a jarred spirit into a compact little processing machine you can place anywhere in your base.[1]
What a spirit in a jar can do
- A spirit in a jar automatically pulls in items from a 7x7 area around it and processes them.[1]
- You can also right-click an item on the jar to have the spirit process it by hand.[1]
- Jars holding spirits accept items from automation, so pipes, hoppers and starbuncles can all feed them.[1]
- Janitor spirits get a special trick: they try to push their contents into an inventory placed on top of the jar.[1]
Your first craft: the Sacrificial Altar
The Sacrificial Altar is the only Ars Ocultas item with a recipe in All the Mods 10 5.5. You make it in Ars Nouveau's Enchanting Apparatus, so get that set up first. All the Mods 10 changed this recipe, so check the version below rather than an older video or guide.[3]
Enchanting Apparatus (ars_nouveau)
Drygmy Token
Containment Jar
2× Sourcestone
Golden Ritual Bowl
- 4× any silver ingot

Crafted in the Enchanting Apparatus. This is the pack's modified recipe.
Unverified The available sources don't explain what the Sacrificial Altar does. They also don't give the exact steps for getting a spirit into a Containment Jar, so test this in-game before relying on it.
Unverified The mod's project page says the full overview is in an Ars Ocultas section of Ars Nouveau's Worn Notebook guidebook. That section couldn't be confirmed for this pack.
How does Ars Ocultas work?
3 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
Ars Ocultas is a small bridge mod that connects Ars Nouveau and Occultism. Its mechanics are about using Occultism spirits from Ars Nouveau's Containment Jar and then automating that jar.[1]
Spirits in Containment Jars
The main feature is that spirits can be used from a Containment Jar. Once a spirit is inside, the jar does the work for you.[1]
- The spirit automatically pulls items from around it in a 7x7 area and processes them.[1]
- You can also right-click items on the jar yourself to process them.[1]
Automation
A Containment Jar holding a spirit has an item capability attached, so you can pipe items straight into it. Pipes, hoppers and Starbuncles all work.[1]
Janitor Spirits get a special behavior. They automatically try to push their contents into an inventory on top of the jar, so a container above the jar can collect the output.[1]
The Sacrificial Altar
The mod adds the Sacrificial Altar. In this pack it is crafted in an Ars Nouveau Enchanting Apparatus, and the pack has changed that recipe. One of its inputs is a Containment Jar (Containment Jar). The recipe below is the exact in-pack version.[4]

Drygmy Token
Containment Jar
2× Sourcestone
Golden Ritual Bowl
- 4× any silver ingot
Recipe id: ars_ocultas:altar
Crafted in the Enchanting Apparatus. The pack changed this recipe.
Unverified The full overview of the mod's mechanics lives in the Ars Ocultas section of the Worn Notebook, the Ars Nouveau guidebook. The sources here do not show that guidebook's contents, so details beyond the points above are not confirmed.
How do you progress through Ars Ocultas?
1 part
In this pack, Ars Ocultas has one pack recipe that makes one of its items: the Sacrificial Altar. That makes the Sacrificial Altar your clear entry point into the mod, so it's the first thing to aim for.[3]
The Sacrificial Altar
You don't make the Sacrificial Altar at a crafting table. You build it in an Enchanting Apparatus, and this pack has changed its recipe from the mod's default. If you're following an older video or another pack's guide, check the in-pack recipe below before you gather materials.[3]

2× Sourcestone
Golden Ritual Bowl
- 4× any silver ingot

Crafted in an Enchanting Apparatus. This recipe is changed by the pack.
Unverified The pack sources don't include any quests for Ars Ocultas or any tier structure beyond the Sacrificial Altar, so a full step-by-step progression path can't be confirmed for this pack.
How does Ars Ocultas work with other mods?
2 parts
Ars Ocultas is a bridge mod: its whole job is connecting Ars Nouveau with Occultism. If you're running both magic mods in this pack, this is what lets their systems work together instead of side by side.[1]
The Sacrificial Altar
The main in-pack recipe tying the three mods together is the Sacrificial Altar. You craft it in Ars Nouveau's Enchanting Apparatus, and it combines parts from both Ars Nouveau and Occultism, including an Golden Ritual Bowl and a Containment Jar. This pack has changed the recipe, so check the version below rather than an older guide or video.[3]

Unverified The sources don't describe what the Sacrificial Altar does once you've placed it, so test it in-game before you build your setup around it.
Occultism spirits in Containment Jars
The biggest feature is that you can use Occultism spirits from Ars Nouveau's Containment Jar. Instead of letting a spirit wander around, you keep it in a jar and it keeps working.[1]
- A spirit in a jar automatically pulls in items around it in a 7x7 area and processes them.[1]
- You can also right-click an item on the jar to have the spirit process it by hand.[1]
- Jars holding a spirit accept items through automation, so you can feed them with pipes, hoppers or Ars Nouveau's starbuncles.[1]
- Janitor spirits get a special trick: they automatically try to push what they're carrying into an inventory placed on top of the jar.[1]
Unverified The mod's project page says the Ars Ocultas section of Ars Nouveau's Worn Notebook has a full overview, but that guide section hasn't been confirmed for this pack.
What changed in Ars Ocultas between versions?
1 part
The pack's mod list says Ars Ocultas was first included in All the Mods 10 2.2 or earlier, so it has been part of the pack since its early releases.[2]
Pack release changes
- All the Mods 10 4.6 updated Ars Ocultas from 2.1.0 to 2.2.0.[5]
- All the Mods 10 5.5 includes Ars Ocultas 2.2.0 (the 1.21.1 build), the same version that All the Mods 10 4.6 updated to.[2][5]
Unverified What actually changed inside Ars Ocultas between 2.1.0 and 2.2.0 (new content, fixes or balance changes) is unverified, because no mod changelog was available for these versions.
