What is Ex Machinis: Divitiae Deorum?
2 parts
Same as in the All the Mods - Gravitas 4.0 guide
Ex Machinis: Divitiae Deorum is an automation addon for Ex Deorum. If you're tired of sifting and hammering by hand, it adds an RF powered Sieve, Hammer, and Compactor so those jobs can run on their own.[1]
Power is on you
The mod doesn't generate power, so you need a separate mod for that. The project page suggests Thermal Expansion or Powah! Rearchitected as examples. Its showcase photo also features CobbleForDays, Pipez, and Thermal Expansion.[1]
Version in this pack
The pack ships Ex Machinis: Divitiae Deorum 1.1.1, using the file exmachinis-1.18.2-1.1.1.jar. It was first included in this pack's version or an earlier one.[2]
How do you get started with Ex Machinis: Divitiae Deorum?
6 parts
Ex Machinis: Divitiae Deorum is an automation addon for Ex Deorum. It adds an RF-powered sieve, hammer and compactor, so you can stop doing those jobs by hand. Here is the order I'd tackle things in.[1]
Sort out power first
This mod does not generate power. You need a separate mod for that, and its project page suggests Thermal Expansion or Powah! Rearchitected as examples. The Flux machines are RF-powered, so plan your power before you build them.[1][3]
Step one: Item Buffer
Start with the Item Buffer. It does not require power, so you can use it right away. It takes items from its internal inventory and moves them into an inventory below it, and it tries to move all items each cycle.[3]

Step two: Flux Hammer
Next, the Flux Hammer takes over the pounding. It pulls items from an inventory above it and puts the results into an inventory in front of it. The mod's own advancement says "No more pounding sand!"[3]

Step three: Flux Sieve
The Flux Sieve ends the right-clicking. It takes items from its internal inventory and outputs into an inventory below it. You can also enchant its meshes with Fortune in an anvil to increase drop chances.[3]
Step four: Flux Compactor
When loose pieces start filling your storage, craft the Flux Compactor. It takes items from its internal inventory and places the outputs into an inventory below it.[3]

Step five: Upgrades
Upgrades let the machines process more items at once. On the Item Buffer they increase the cycle speed instead. The pack has recipes for the Gold Upgrade, the Diamond Upgrade and the Comparator Upgrade.[3][4]

The Diamond Upgrade is crafted from a Gold Upgrade, so make that one first.
The Comparator Upgrade can be added to the Item Buffer to produce a redstone signal in a particular direction, which you could use to turn off other machines. Sneak and right-click a block with it to set the output direction to the clicked face.[3]

How does Ex Machinis: Divitiae Deorum work?
4 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.0.4 guide
Ex Machinis is an automation addon for Ex Deorum. It adds RF-powered machines that do the tedious sifting, hammering and compacting for you. The mod doesn't generate power itself, so you need another mod's generators to run them. The project page suggests Thermal Expansion or Powah! Rearchitected as examples.[1]
The three RF machines
The Flux Hammer, Flux Sieve and Flux Compactor are the automatic versions of hammering, sieving and compacting. All three need RF. Their tooltips show the RF per tick, the RF cost per item, the processing time in ticks, and a progress readout in seconds. I can't give you the exact figures here because none of the sources list them.[1][3]
- Flux Hammer: takes items from an inventory above it and puts the outputs into an inventory in front of it.[3]
- Flux Sieve: takes items from its internal inventory and puts the outputs into an inventory below it. You can enchant meshes with Fortune in an anvil to increase drop chances.[3]
- Flux Compactor: takes items from its internal inventory and puts the outputs into an inventory below it.[3]
All three machines share some behavior. Upgrades increase the number of items processed at once, and a redstone signal disables the block. You can change the output side by shift + right-clicking the machine with an Ex Nihilo hammer.[3]

Item Buffer
The Item Buffer is a logistics block. It takes items from its internal inventory and moves them into an inventory below it, and it tries to move everything in the inventory each cycle. Unlike the other machines, it needs no power. Upgrades increase its cycle speed. A redstone signal disables it, and the output side can be changed with the same Ex Nihilo hammer shift + right-click.[3]

Upgrades
Upgrades go into the machines to speed them up. On the Flux machines they raise the number of items processed at once. On the Item Buffer they raise the cycle speed. The pack has a Gold Upgrade and a Diamond Upgrade, and the mod's advancements also mention a Netherite Upgrade.[3]

Recipe id: exmachinis:diamond_upgrade
Unverified The sources don't say how much each upgrade tier (Gold, Diamond, Netherite) improves a machine, how many upgrades fit in one machine, or how the Netherite Upgrade is crafted. Check in-game with JEI before you plan around specific numbers. This site does hold All the Mods 10: To the Sky's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
Redstone control with the Comparator Upgrade
The Comparator Upgrade lets the Item Buffer produce a redstone signal in a particular direction. You can use that signal to turn off other machines. To set the direction, sneak + right-click a block with the upgrade, and the output direction becomes the face you clicked.[3]
Crafting Shaped

Recipe id: exmachinis:comparator_upgrade
Unverified The sources don't say what condition makes the Comparator Upgrade emit its signal, or whether the Flux machines accept it. The only documented use is on the Item Buffer. The pack also has no config files for this mod, so there is nothing to tweak in the machine speeds or RF costs.
How do you progress through Ex Machinis: Divitiae Deorum?
3 parts
Unverified No pack quests were found that cover this mod, so there is no quest-guided order for it. The progression below is read from the in-pack recipes only.
The mod's items are all crafted from other items you will already be using, so your progression is set by what you have to craft first. The recipe dump shows a clear ladder of dependencies, even though it doesn't give a numbered list of tiers.[4]
First craft: the Item Buffer
The Item Buffer is the most basic piece in the dump. It is a shaped recipe that doesn't depend on any other item from this mod, so it's a natural first craft.[4]
Crafting Shaped
| any iron ingot | any redstone dust | any iron ingot |
| any iron ingot | any wooden chest | any iron ingot |
| any iron ingot | any iron ingot |
Recipe id: exmachinis:item_buffer
Next: the Flux machines
The Flux Sieve and Flux Hammer are each built from a tool or machine from the base sieve and hammer progression. The Flux Sieve needs any item from the sieves tag, so you need a sieve before you can upgrade it. The Flux Hammer needs a Diamond Hammer, so you must reach a Diamond Hammer first.[4]
Crafting Shaped
| any glass panes | any glass panes | any glass panes |
| any glass panes | any glass panes | |
| any iron storage block | any iron storage block |
Recipe id: exmachinis:flux_hammer
The Flux Compactor is also a shaped crafting recipe, and it doesn't need a previous Flux machine.[4]

Then: upgrades
The upgrades form a short chain. The Gold Upgrade is crafted directly from raw materials. The Diamond Upgrade then takes a Gold Upgrade as an ingredient, so you have to make the Gold Upgrade first.[4]

The Comparator Upgrade is a separate branch. It is crafted directly and doesn't need the Gold or Diamond Upgrade.[4]

How does Ex Machinis: Divitiae Deorum work with other mods?
2 parts
Ex Machinis: Divitiae Deorum is an automation addon for Ex Deorum. It adds an RF powered Sieve, Hammer and Compactor, so Ex Deorum is the mod it connects to most closely.[1]
Ex Deorum: the Flux Hammer
The clearest link in the pack's recipes is the Flux Hammer. Its recipe starts from Ex Deorum's Diamond Hammer, so you need to craft that hammer first. The recipe also uses a vanilla Hopper, any item in the glass panes tag and any item in the iron storage blocks tag.[4]

Power and item transport
This mod does not generate power. You need a separate mod for that, and the project page suggests Thermal Expansion or Powah! Rearchitected.[1]
The project page's screenshot also shows Pipez and Thermal Expansion alongside the mod's machines.[1]
What changed in Ex Machinis: Divitiae Deorum between versions?
1 part
All the Mods 10: To the Sky 1.1.2 ships Ex Machinis: Divitiae Deorum 4.0.1. The mod has been in the pack since 1.0 or earlier, so it isn't a recent addition.[5]
Changes in 4.0.1
The mod's own 4.0.1 changelog is the one release note available for it, and 4.0.1 is the version you're playing on in 1.1.2. Here is what it lists:[5][6]
- The item buffer now attempts to transfer the whole inventory each cycle.[6]
- A new iridium chunk compacting recipe was added.[6]
Unverified The sources here include no pack changelog entries for this mod, so any changes the pack itself made to it across releases are unverified. Check the pack's own changelogs for those details.
