What is Ex Machinis: Divitiae Deorum?

2 parts

Ex Machinis: Divitiae Deorum is an automation addon for Ex Deorum. If you're tired of sifting and hammering by hand, it adds an RF powered Sieve, Hammer, and Compactor so those jobs can run on their own.[1]

Power is on you

The mod doesn't generate power, so you need a separate mod for that. The project page suggests Thermal Expansion or Powah! Rearchitected as examples. Its showcase photo also features CobbleForDays, Pipez, and Thermal Expansion.[1]

Version in this pack

The pack ships Ex Machinis: Divitiae Deorum 1.1.1, using the file exmachinis-1.18.2-1.1.1.jar. It was first included in this pack's version or an earlier one.[2]

How do you get started with Ex Machinis: Divitiae Deorum?

5 parts

Ex Machinis is an automation addon for Ex Deorum. It adds an RF-powered Sieve, Hammer and Compactor. If you're tired of clicking through Ex Deorum by hand, this is your way out.[1]

Watch out: This mod does not generate power. You need a separate mod that produces RF before these machines will do anything. The project page gives Thermal Expansion and Powah! Rearchitected as examples.[1]

Flux Sieve

Start with the Flux Sieve. It's for anyone tired of right-clicking. It takes items from its internal inventory and places the outputs into an inventory below it. Meshes can be enchanted with Fortune to increase drop chances.[3]

Flux Hammer

Next comes the Flux Hammer, so you can stop pounding sand. It works differently from the sieve: it takes items from an inventory above it and places the outputs into an inventory in front of it.[3]

Upgrades

Once your machines are running, upgrades can be added to them to increase the number of items processed at once. The upgrade items are the Gold Upgrade, the Diamond Upgrade and the Netherite Upgrade. Start with the Gold Upgrade.[3][4]

Handy things to know

  • A redstone signal disables any of these machines.[3]
  • To change a machine's output side, shift + right-click it with an Ex Nihilo hammer.[3]
  • The machine tooltips show RF per tick, RF cost per item and processing time, so check them when you plan your power setup.[3]

How does Ex Machinis: Divitiae Deorum work?

6 parts

Ex Machinis is an automation addon for Ex Deorum. It adds RF-powered machines that do the clicking for you: the Flux Sieve, the Flux Hammer and the Flux Compactor.[1][3]

Watch out: The mod does not generate power. You need a separate mod for that. The mod page suggests Thermal Expansion or Powah! Rearchitected as examples.[1]

The machines

Each machine has its own item flow, so it matters where you place it. Here is what the in-game descriptions say.[3]

  • Flux Hammer: takes items from an inventory above it and places the outputs into an inventory in front of it. It is an RF-powered automatic hammer, so no more pounding sand by hand.[3]
  • Flux Sieve: takes items from its internal inventory and places the outputs into an inventory below it. It is an RF-powered automatic sieve.[3]
  • Flux Compactor: takes items from its internal inventory and places the outputs into an inventory below it. It is an RF-powered automatic compactor, handy when pesky pieces fill up your storage.[3]

Shared behaviour

All the machines follow the same rules. Upgrades can be added to increase the number of items processed at once. A redstone signal can disable the block. You can also configure the output side by shift + right-clicking the machine with an Ex Nihilo hammer.[3]

The sieve has an extra trick: meshes can be enchanted with Fortune to increase drop chances.[3]

Power and tooltips

The machine tooltips show RF per tick, processing time in ticks, RF cost per item, and progress in seconds. Check them in-game to see what a machine costs and how fast it runs.[3]

Upgrades

The upgrade tiers are the Gold Upgrade, the Diamond Upgrade and the Netherite Upgrade. In this pack they chain together: the Diamond Upgrade is crafted from a Gold Upgrade, and the Netherite Upgrade is crafted from a Diamond Upgrade.[4]

Crafting the machines

The machines are crafted from vanilla parts plus Ex Nihilo items. The hammer recipe uses a diamond hammer from Ex Nihilo: Sequentia, and the sieve recipe accepts any sieve from that mod's sieve tag.[4]

Automation tips

The Flux Hammer pulls from above and pushes forward, while the Sieve and Compactor push downward, so plan your chests or other inventories around those directions. The mod page's showcase image also features Pipez and Thermal Expansion alongside the machines.[1][3]

How do you progress through Ex Machinis: Divitiae Deorum?

2 parts

Ex Machinis is a short progression in this pack: a handful of machines, then an upgrade line that climbs from gold to diamond to netherite. The pack's recipe data is the only thing I can confirm for this mod, so this section follows those recipes.[4]

The machines

The Flux Sieve, Flux Hammer and Flux Compactor are all crafted with shaped recipes. The Flux Sieve builds on a sieve from Ex Nihilo Sequentia, and the Flux Hammer builds on that mod's Diamond Hammer, so get those tools going first.[4]

Upgrade tiers

The upgrades go Gold Upgrade, then Diamond Upgrade, then Netherite Upgrade. The Diamond Upgrade is crafted from the Gold Upgrade, and the Netherite Upgrade is crafted from the Diamond Upgrade, so you work through them in order.[4]

How does Ex Machinis: Divitiae Deorum work with other mods?

1 part

The one in-pack recipe that ties this mod to another mod is the Flux Hammer. It uses the Diamond Hammer as an ingredient, so you need that hammer first before you can automate hammering.[4]

This is a shaped recipe, so it is made in a regular crafting grid.

Power is not included

The mod describes itself as an automation addon for Ex Deorum, adding an RF-powered Sieve, Hammer and Compactor. It does not generate power itself, so you need another mod for that. The project page names Thermal Expansion and Powah! Rearchitected as examples.[1]
