Ex Machinis: Divitiae Deorum is a mod in All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.1.0, where it is version 4.0.3. Automation addon for Ex Deorum (Summary from the mod's Modrinth page.)

What is Ex Machinis: Divitiae Deorum?

1 part

Ex Machinis: Divitiae Deorum is an automation addon for Ex Deorum. It adds an RF-powered Sieve, Hammer and Compactor, so you can stop hammering and sieving by hand. This pack includes version 4.0.3.[1][2]

It's for you once you're comfortable with the manual Ex Deorum loop and want a hands-off resource line. The mod doesn't generate power, so you need a separate power mod. The mod page gives Thermal Expansion and Powah! Rearchitected as examples. The quest text just tells you to sort out energy on your own.[1][3]

Where it fits in the pack

The mod shows up in "Chapter 2: The Cool Parts". Both of its main quests, "Flux Hammer" quest and "Flux Sieve" quest, unlock after the Skyblock Automation quest. So think of it as part of your first real automation step.[3]

  • The Flux Hammer hammers items automatically. It uses Energy instead of durability, and it needs an inventory behind the open output side. You can even place a Sieve behind it to feed gravel straight in.[3]
  • The Flux Sieve needs Energy, a Mesh, and an inventory beneath it for output. It accepts input from any side, and the Mesh type decides what items you get.[3]
  • The "Flux Upgrades" quest quest covers the Gold Upgrade and Diamond Upgrade. Both machines can take these to work faster and process more items, and you can stack up to 3 of each.[3]

The quests cover the Hammer, the Sieve and their upgrades. The Compactor is mentioned on the mod page, but the pack's quest text doesn't cover it.[1][3]

How do you get started with Ex Machinis: Divitiae Deorum?

4 parts

Welcome to the automation side of the pack! Ex Machinis: Divitiae Deorum adds RF-powered machines that take over the repetitive Ex Deorum jobs, like hammering and sieving. Here's the order I'd tackle them in.[1]

Watch out: This mod does not generate power. You need a separate mod that produces RF before any of these machines will run.[1]

Step one: the Flux Hammer

Start with the Flux Hammer. It hammers items automatically and uses Energy instead of tool durability. The quest "Flux Hammer" quest in Chapter 2: The Cool Parts walks you through it.[3][4]

It needs an inventory on its open output side so the hammered blocks have somewhere to go. It takes items from an inventory above it and places the results into an inventory in front. You can also put a sieve at the output to feed gravel straight into it.[3][4]

Step two: the Flux Sieve

Next comes the Flux Sieve, covered by the quest "Flux Sieve" quest. It needs three things: Energy, an inventory beneath it for output, and a mesh. The mesh type decides which items you get from sieving. Blocks can be inserted from any side.[3]

Meshes can be enchanted with Fortune in an anvil to improve drop chances. You can also shift + right-click with an Ex Nihilo hammer to configure the output side of these machines.[4]

Step three: upgrades

Once both machines are running, the quest "Flux Upgrades" quest points you to upgrades. They make the Hammer and Sieve work faster and process more items. You can stack up to 3 of each type.[3]

Start with the Gold Upgrade.[3]

Extras when you're ready

  • Flux Compactor: takes items from its internal inventory and places the outputs into an inventory below. It's handy when small pieces fill up your storage.[4]
  • Item Buffer: moves items from its internal inventory into an inventory below, and it does not require power. Upgrades increase its cycle speed.[4]
  • Comparator Upgrade: added to the Item Buffer, it produces a redstone signal in a chosen direction, which you could use to turn off other machines. Sneak + right-click a block to set the output face.[4]

How does Ex Machinis: Divitiae Deorum work?

4 parts

Ex Machinis is an automation addon for Ex Deorum. It adds RF-powered machines that do the tedious sifting, hammering and compacting for you. The mod doesn't generate power itself, so you need another mod's generators to run them. The project page suggests Thermal Expansion or Powah! Rearchitected as examples.[1]

The three RF machines

The Flux Hammer, Flux Sieve and Flux Compactor are the automatic versions of hammering, sieving and compacting. All three need RF. Their tooltips show the RF per tick, the RF cost per item, the processing time in ticks, and a progress readout in seconds. I can't give you the exact figures here because none of the sources list them.[1][4]

  • Flux Hammer: takes items from an inventory above it and puts the outputs into an inventory in front of it.[4]
  • Flux Sieve: takes items from its internal inventory and puts the outputs into an inventory below it. You can enchant meshes with Fortune in an anvil to increase drop chances.[4]
  • Flux Compactor: takes items from its internal inventory and puts the outputs into an inventory below it.[4]

All three machines share some behavior. Upgrades increase the number of items processed at once, and a redstone signal disables the block. You can change the output side by shift + right-clicking the machine with an Ex Nihilo hammer.[4]

Tip: The Hammer is the odd one out. It pulls from above and outputs to its front, while the Sieve and Compactor use their internal inventory and output downward. Plan your chests and pipes around that, and use the hammer click to change the output side if the default doesn't fit your layout.[4]

Item Buffer

The Item Buffer is a logistics block. It takes items from its internal inventory and moves them into an inventory below it, and it tries to move everything in the inventory each cycle. Unlike the other machines, it needs no power. Upgrades increase its cycle speed. A redstone signal disables it, and the output side can be changed with the same Ex Nihilo hammer shift + right-click.[4]

Upgrades

Upgrades go into the machines to speed them up. On the Flux machines they raise the number of items processed at once. On the Item Buffer they raise the cycle speed. The pack has a Gold Upgrade and a Diamond Upgrade, and the mod's advancements also mention a Netherite Upgrade.[4]

Unverified The sources don't say how much each upgrade tier (Gold, Diamond, Netherite) improves a machine, how many upgrades fit in one machine, or how the Netherite Upgrade is crafted. Check in-game with JEI before you plan around specific numbers. This site does hold All the Mods 10: To the Sky's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.

Redstone control with the Comparator Upgrade

The Comparator Upgrade lets the Item Buffer produce a redstone signal in a particular direction. You can use that signal to turn off other machines. To set the direction, sneak + right-click a block with the upgrade, and the output direction becomes the face you clicked.[4]

Unverified The sources don't say what condition makes the Comparator Upgrade emit its signal, or whether the Flux machines accept it. The only documented use is on the Item Buffer. The pack also has no config files for this mod, so there is nothing to tweak in the machine speeds or RF costs.

How do you progress through Ex Machinis: Divitiae Deorum?

3 parts

Progression for this mod is short and sits in the quest chapter "Chapter 2: The Cool Parts". It is a two-step line: the two machines first, then upgrades for both. Both machine quests come after the Skyblock Automation quest.[3]

Step 1: Flux Hammer and Flux Sieve

The quests "Flux Hammer" quest and "Flux Sieve" quest can be done in either order, since both follow Skyblock Automation. Each one asks you to get the machine itself.[3]

The Flux Hammer hammers items automatically. It uses Energy instead of durability. It needs an inventory behind it on the open side, and the quest says the wheel sits on the right side of the output side. The quest also suggests placing a sieve behind it so the Gravel it makes goes straight into the sieve.[3]

The Flux Sieve has three requirements. It needs Energy, an inventory directly beneath it for output, and a Mesh. The Mesh type decides which items you get from sieving. Input can come from any side.[3]

Step 2: Flux Upgrades

"Flux Upgrades" quest comes after both machine quests. Its tasks are the Gold Upgrade and the Diamond Upgrade. Upgrades make the Flux Sieve and Flux Hammer work faster and process more items. You can stack up to 3 of each upgrade, and more upgrades means better performance.[3]

How does Ex Machinis: Divitiae Deorum work with other mods?

4 parts

Ex Machinis is an automation addon for Ex Deorum, so most of its connections run through that mod. It adds RF-powered machines, and the pack's quests show how they fit into the rest of your setup.[1]

Ex Deorum

The in-pack recipe for the Flux Hammer has an ingredient from Ex Deorum, so the hammer is tied to that mod's progression.[5]

Recipe id: exmachinis:flux_hammer

This is the exact in-pack recipe for the Flux Hammer.

The Flux Sieve needs a Mesh to work, and the quest says the type of Mesh decides which items you get from sieving.[3]

Inventories and chaining

The Flux Hammer quest says the machine needs an inventory on its open output side. Once blocks go in, it hammers them and sends the results into that inventory. You can also place a Sieve behind it to throw hammered Gravel straight into the Sieve.[3]

The Flux Sieve accepts input from any side but needs an inventory beneath it to output into.[3]

Upgrades

The "Flux Upgrades" quest quest covers the Gold Upgrade and Diamond Upgrade. Both the Flux Sieve and the Flux Hammer accept them. They increase how quickly the machines work and how many items they process, and you can stack up to 3 of each.[3]

Power

Ex Machinis does not generate power itself. The mod's project page says you need a separate mod for that, such as Thermal Expansion or Powah! Rearchitected. The Flux Hammer quest says the hammer uses energy instead of durability, and the Flux Sieve quest leaves the energy source up to you.[1][3]

Tip: In the quest book, "Flux Hammer" quest and "Flux Sieve" quest sit in Chapter 2: The Cool Parts, both right after the Skyblock Automation quest. Flux Upgrades comes after the two of them.[3]

Which All the Mods 10: To the Sky quests use Ex Machinis: Divitiae Deorum?

2 parts

All of this mod's quests live in one place: Chapter 2, "The Cool Parts". There are three of them, and they build on each other, so you'll want to take them in the order below.[3]

Quest order

  1. "Flux Hammer" quest comes after the Skyblock Automation quest. It asks you to obtain the Flux Hammer, a machine that hammers items automatically using Energy instead of durability.[3]
  2. "Flux Sieve" quest also comes after Skyblock Automation, so you can do it before or after the hammer. It asks you to obtain the Flux Sieve.[3]
  3. "Flux Upgrades" quest unlocks once you've finished both the Flux Hammer and Flux Sieve quests. It asks for the Gold Upgrade and the Diamond Upgrade.[3]

What each quest teaches you

The Flux Hammer quest explains the setup. You need an Inventory behind the machine, on the open side, so it can output automatically. Blocks go in, get hammered, and the results are sent to that Inventory. You can also put a Sieve behind it so the Gravel it produces goes straight into the Sieve.[3]

The Flux Sieve quest lists what the machine needs. First, Energy. Second, an Inventory beneath it for output, though input can come from any side. Third, a Mesh, because the type of Mesh decides which items you get from sieving.[3]

The Flux Upgrades quest tells you that both the Flux Sieve and the Flux Hammer accept upgrades. They increase how quickly the machines work and how many items they process. You can stack up to 3 of each upgrade, and the more you stack, the better the machine gets.[3]

Tip: Since the Flux Hammer can feed Gravel into a Sieve placed behind it, doing both machine quests before the upgrades quest makes for a nice automated setup.[3]
