What is RFTools Power?
3 parts
RFTools Power is an addon for the RFTools mods that adds power generators and power storage. This pack includes version 1.21-7.0.6. It also needs RFTools Base to work.[1][2]
What it adds
- A simple generator that burns coal or charcoal. In this pack that's the Coal Generator.[1][3]
- A blazing generator that runs on blaze rods.[1]
- An endergenic generator that runs on ender pearls.[1]
- A dimensional powercell that can store and transfer power across great distances, even between dimensions.[1]
- A multiblock power storage option for holding more power.[1]
Who it's for
If you're building your first power setup, the coal generator is a good starting point. The quests call coal generators some of the easiest generators to make. They are simple to use, give a decent amount of power based on the fuel you feed them, and automatically push power into adjacent blocks.[3]
Once you're making power, the Powercells are your storage step. The quests describe them as multi-block storage units that you can customize and upgrade. You'll need a Wrench to set which sides are inputs and outputs. You can pick up any of Powercell (Low), Powercell (Medium) or Powercell (High) for that quest.[3]
Where it fits in the pack
Early on, the Coal Generator is one of several generators that count for the "New Beginning" power quest. That quest comes after Power and asks for any simple generator that makes FE from coal or lava. It's also one of three accepted items for "Coal Generators" quest, which comes after Early Game Power Options.[3][4]
Storage comes next with "RFTools Power: Powercells" quest, which follows the Storing Power quest in the Basic Power chapter.[3]
Unverified The sources don't show whether the pack changes any RFTools Power recipes or config values, so check the in-game recipe viewer before assuming mod defaults. This site does hold All the Mons's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
How do you get started with RFTools Power?
4 parts
RFTools Power is an addon for the RFTools mods, so it needs RFTools Base to work. It covers both power generation and power storage. Your first steps in this pack are simple: make a generator, then make somewhere to store what it produces.[1]
Step 1: a Coal Generator
Start with the Coal Generator. The quest "Coal Generators" quest calls these some of the easiest generators to make. They are very simple to use, they make a decent amount of power based on the combustible material you put in, and they automatically distribute power to adjacent blocks. The mod describes it as a simple generator that runs on coal or charcoal.[1][3]

The pack's early power quest a quest in "New Beginning" accepts several different starter generators, so the RFTools one is just one of your options. It frames the goal as making FE from something simple like coal or lava.[4]
Step 2: a Powercell to store the power
Next comes storage. The quest "RFTools Power: Powercells" quest introduces Powercells: multi-block storage units that you can customize and upgrade. You will need a Wrench to set which sides are inputs and outputs for power.[3]
The pack changed the recipe for the Power Core (Low) that goes into the first cell, so check the recipe below rather than relying on what you remember from the mod.[5]

Step 3: upgrade the cell
The bigger cells are upgrades of the one you already have. The Powercell (Medium) is made from a Powercell (Low) plus a Power Core (Medium), and the Powercell (High) is made from a Powercell (Medium) plus a Power Core (High). The pack changed both of those core recipes.[5]
The cell upgrade recipe itself is the mod's own.
Again the mod's own upgrade recipe.
Where to go next
Once coal feels limiting, the mod offers a generator that runs on blaze rods and one that runs on ender pearls. It also has a dimensional powercell that can transfer power across great distances and between dimensions. The pack changed the recipes for the Blazing Generator, the Endergenic and the Dimensional Cell (Simple), so look at them before you start gathering materials.[1][5]

How does RFTools Power work?
5 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
RFTools Power is an addon for the RFTools mods, and it needs RFTools Base to work. The sources for this pack only describe it at a high level, so this section covers what the mod offers and how the pack changes its crafting. It doesn't go deep into numbers.[1]
Power generation
There are three generators, each with its own fuel.[1][6]
- Coal Generator: the simple option, which runs on coal or charcoal.[1][6]
- Blazing Generator: runs on blaze rods.[1][6]
- Endergenic: runs on ender pearls.[1][6]
The pack has changed the Blazing Generator and Endergenic recipes, so don't rely on a recipe you remember from the default mod. The Coal Generator recipe is the mod's own.[6]

Power storage
The mod has two storage systems. The dimensional powercell stores power and can transfer it across great distances, including between dimensions. There is also a multiblock power storage system for holding a lot of power.[1][6]
The dimensional cell comes in three versions: Dimensional Cell (Simple), Dimensional Cell and Dimensional Cell (Advanced). The pack has changed the recipes for all three.[6]

How do you progress through RFTools Power?
5 parts
RFTools Power in this pack works like a ladder: you start with a simple generator, add storage with Powercells, and then move on to the dimensional cells and the more specialised generators. The quest book only covers the first two rungs, so for the later tiers you follow the recipes.[3][4][5]
Tier 1: Coal Generator
Your first stop is the Coal Generator. In the New Beginning chapter, the quest a quest in "New Beginning" comes after "Power" and accepts it alongside generators from several other mods, so it is just one of many ways to start making FE.[4]
The Basic Power quest "Coal Generators" quest ("Coal Generators") comes after "Early Game Power Options" and also accepts it, along with the Actually Additions and Just Dire Things coal generators. The quest says these generators are easy to make, produce a decent amount of power based on the combustible material you feed them, and automatically hand power to adjacent blocks.[3]

Tier 2: Powercells
Next comes storage. The quest "RFTools Power: Powercells" quest comes after "Storing Power" and is completed by having any of Powercell (Low), Powercell (Medium) or Powercell (High). The quest describes Powercells as multi-block storage units that you can customize and upgrade, and it tells you to bring a Wrench to set power inputs and outputs.[3]
The pack changes the recipe for the Low cell and for its Power Core (Low). The Medium and High cells keep the mod's own recipes, and each one is built from the cell one step below it, so you upgrade through the tiers instead of crafting them from scratch.[5]

How does RFTools Power work with other mods?
3 parts
RFTools Power doesn't stand alone in this pack. Most of its machines are built from RFTools Base parts, plus a few vanilla items and common-tag materials. Two quests also put its Coal Generator next to generators from other mods.[3][4][5]
RFTools Base is required
RFTools Power needs RFTools Base to run. The recipes show it clearly: the Machine Frame is in the recipes for the Coal Generator, Blazing Generator, Blazing Agitator, Blazing Infuser, Endergenic, Pearl Injector, Powercell (Low), Dimensional Cell and Dimensional Cell (Simple).[1][5]
The monitoring blocks use the Machine Base instead. That covers the Power Monitor, Ender Monitor and Power Level.[5]
The higher-tier RFTools Base materials gate the bigger machines. The Endergenic needs an Infused Enderpearl. The Blazing Generator and the Dimensional Cell (Advanced) each need an Infused Diamond. The Blazing Infuser, Power Core (Medium) and Power Core (High) each need a Dimensional Shard.[5]
Crafting Shaped

Vanilla parts
- The Coal Generator uses a Redstone Torch.[5]
- The Pearl Injector uses a Hopper.[5]
- The Power Monitor uses a Comparator.[5]
- The Dimensional Cell (Simple) uses Quartz, and the Dimensional Cell uses a Prismarine Shard.[5]
- The Ender Monitor uses a Redstone Torch.[5]
Several other recipes ask for common-tag materials rather than one specific item, such as blaze rods, iron ingots, glass, emeralds, diamonds, ender pearls, chests and redstone blocks. Any item carrying the matching tag fits those slots.[5]

Quests that mix mods
In the Basic Power chapter, the Coal Generators quest accepts the Coal Generator, an Actually Additions coal generator, or a Just Dire Things generator. Any one of them completes it. The quest calls these some of the easiest generators to make, and says they automatically distribute power to adjacent blocks. See "Coal Generators" quest.[3]
The New Beginning chapter has a similar quest. Its task list includes the Coal Generator alongside early generators from Industrial Foregoing, Generator Galore, Mekanism Generators, Powah and Actually Additions. Its text says energy creation starts with a simple generator that uses coal or lava to make FE. See a quest in "New Beginning".[4]
The Powercells quest, "RFTools Power: Powercells" quest, accepts any of Powercell (Low), Powercell (Medium) or Powercell (High). It tells you that you will need a Wrench to determine inputs and outputs for power.[3]
Which All the Mons quests use RFTools Power?
2 parts
In this pack, RFTools Power turns up in two quest chapters, "New Beginning" and "Basic Power", across three quests. All of them are about getting your first power online and then storing it.[3][4]
New Beginning
Quest a quest in "New Beginning" unlocks after the quest "Power". It asks you to make a simple generator that burns coal or lava to produce FE. The Coal Generator is one of the accepted options, alongside generators from other mods such as Actually Additions, Powah and Mekanism Generators. You only need one of them to complete the task.[4]
Basic Power
This chapter has two quests that involve the mod. They each follow a different earlier quest in the chapter.[3]
- "Coal Generators" quest comes after "Early Game Power Options". You can finish it with the Coal Generator, or with the Actually Additions or Just Dire Things coal generator instead. The quest describes these as some of the easiest generators to make. They produce a decent amount of power based on the fuel you put in, and they automatically distribute power to adjacent blocks.[3]
- "RFTools Power: Powercells" quest comes after "Storing Power". It asks for any one of the Powercell (Low), Powercell (Medium) or Powercell (High). The quest explains that Powercells are multi-block storage units that you can customize and upgrade.[3]
Unverified The sources do not show how the "New Beginning" and "Basic Power" chapters connect to each other, so the order between those two chapters is unconfirmed.
What changed in RFTools Power between versions?
All the Mons 1.3.0 ships RFTools Power version 1.21-7.0.6. The mod was first included in All the Mons 0.3.0-beta or earlier, so it has been part of the pack for a long time.[2]
The one change recorded for that version is that the Patchouli manual documentation was updated and expanded. If you want in-game info on the mod, the manual is the place to look.[7]
Unverified The sources here include no pack changelog entries for this mod, so what changed for it between individual All the Mons releases is not shown.
