What is Rechiseled?
2 parts
Rechiseled lets you swap blocks for decorative variants that have connected textures. It adds over 600 decorative variants of vanilla blocks, and most of them also come as stairs and slabs. The connecting textures link across the full block, stairs and slab of the same variant. The pack includes version 1.1.6+a.[1][2]
How you use it
Everything runs through the Chisel. Right-click with it to open the chiseling screen. There you put in a block, preview all its variants and take out the one you want, including its stairs and slabs. Most blocks have versions with and without connecting textures, and a button in the bottom right of the screen toggles between them.[1]
You can also left-click a block that is already placed. With nothing stored in the chisel, that changes it to a random variant. If the chisel holds a block, that block acts as a filter and the left-clicked block becomes that variant.[1]
Where it sits in the quest book
The quest "Rechiseled" quest is in the "Building Tips" chapter, and it asks you to get the Chisel. The chapter opens with "Building Tips!" quest, which leads to "Tools!" quest, then to "Changing Blocks" quest, and from there to Rechiseled.[3]
Rechiseled shares that spot with two other block-changing mods: "Chisel Reborn" quest and "Chipped" quest also come straight after Changing Blocks. In the quests I can see, nothing lists Rechiseled as a prerequisite. The chapter has 61 quests and 28 of them are not shown here, so check the quest book for anything further along.[3]
The quest text describes the screen like this: you choose the design on the left and put your blocks in at the bottom right. You can preview the design as a single block, a 3x1 row or a 3x3 wall, and a button sets the preview to spin or not spin. Clicking the chisel next to the block slot applies the selected design to every block in your inventory that can be changed.[3]
How do you get started with Rechiseled?
3 parts
Rechiseled is built around one tool, so your first step is simple: make the Chisel. Everything else in the mod, including the 600+ decorative variants of vanilla blocks, works through it.[1][3]

This is the mod's own recipe, and the pack has not changed it.
The pack's quest book covers it in the Building Tips chapter. The Rechiseled quest ("Rechiseled" quest) asks you to get the chisel. It comes after "Changing Blocks" quest, which in turn comes after "Tools!" quest, and that starts from "Building Tips!" quest.[3]
Your first chiseling session
- Right-click with the chisel to open the chiseling screen.[1][3]
- Put your blocks in the slot at the bottom right, then pick a design from the list on the left.[3]
- Check the preview above the slot. It can show a single block, a 3x1 row or a 3x3 wall, and a button lets you set the image to spin or not spin.[3]
- Click the chisel next to the block slot to apply the selected design to every block in your inventory that can be changed.[3]
- If you want a different shape, the screen also lets you swap between a variant, its stairs and its slabs.[1]
Chiseling blocks that are already placed
You can also work on blocks in the world. Left-click a placed block with the chisel to change it to a random variant. If you have stored a block in the chisel, it acts as a filter, and any block you left-click is turned into that variant instead.[1]
A pack-added extra: polishing
This pack adds a Create sandpaper polishing recipe that turns Basalt Bordered Connecting into Basalt Bordered Polished Connecting. It is an addition made by the pack, so you will not find it in the mod on its own.[4]
Sandpaper Polishing (create)
Recipe id: create_dragons_plus:sandpaper_polishing/rechiseled/basalt_bordered_connecting
The quest book groups Rechiseled with other block-changing mods in the same part of Building Tips: Chisel Reborn, Chipped and Framed Blocks all come after Changing Blocks too, so check them if you want even more options.[3]
How does Rechiseled work?
5 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 0.53 guide
Rechiseled doesn't have machines, power or fluids. Its whole system is one tool and one screen: you take a block, you swap it for a decorative variant, and you do it as many times as you like. The mod adds over 600 decorative variants of vanilla blocks, all built around connected textures.[1]
Everything runs through the chisel. It's the only item you need, and it never wears out: the chisel has no durability, so one is enough for an entire world.[1]

The chisel as it's crafted in this pack.
The chiseling screen
Right-click with the Chisel to open the chiseling screen. You put a block in, and the screen previews every variant that block has, then lets you exchange between them. This is the main way you convert stacks of material into decorative blocks.[1]
The screen also covers stairs and slabs. Most of Rechiseled's decorative variants have matching stairs and slabs, and you can pull those straight out of the chiseling screen rather than crafting them separately.[1]
Connected textures and the toggle
Connected textures are the core of the mod's look. Most blocks exist in two forms: one with connecting textures and one without. A button in the bottom right of the chiseling screen toggles between them, so if a wall isn't connecting the way you expect, that's the switch to check.[1]
Connections aren't limited to full blocks either. The connecting textures will also link up between the full block, the stairs, and the slab of the same variant, so a mixed wall of all three still reads as one continuous surface.[1]
In-world chiseling
You don't have to break and replace blocks to redecorate. Left-click a placed block with the chisel and it changes to a decorative variant in place.[1]
By default a left-click picks a random variant, which is handy for rough, varied stonework. If you want control, store a block in the chisel first: that stored block acts as a filter, and every block you left-click will be transformed into that specific variant instead.[1]
- Right-click with the chisel to open the chiseling screen and store the variant you want.[1]
- Close the screen and left-click placed blocks to convert them to that stored variant.[1]
- Clear the stored block if you'd rather go back to random variants for a textured, mixed look.[1]
Automation
Rechiseled itself is a hand tool, there's no in-mod machine that chisels for you. Automation comes from official addon mods instead. Rechiseled: Create adds a Mechanical Chisel that chisels blocks automatically using Create contraptions, plus over 100 decorative variants for Create's blocks. Rechiseled: Applied Energistics 2 adds a Chiseling Pattern Encoder so Rechiseled recipes can be autocrafted through an AE2 storage system, along with over 100 new variants of AE2 blocks.[1]
Unverified Whether the Create or Applied Energistics 2 addons are actually installed in this pack isn't confirmed by the sources provided here. Check your mod list before planning an automated chiseling setup.
What the variants look like
Variant names follow a simple pattern: the base block plus a style. For example, iron shows up as a Reinforced Block of Iron. Browsing the chiseling screen with a block in hand is still the fastest way to see what a given material offers.[1][5]
How do you progress through Rechiseled?
3 parts
Rechiseled in this pack is a one-step affair: you make the Chisel, and that is the whole unlock. The pack's quest book puts it in the Building Tips chapter, and the quest asks you to obtain the chisel.[3]
Where it sits in the quest book
The path runs "Building Tips!" quest, then "Tools!" quest, then "Changing Blocks" quest, and finally "Rechiseled" quest. Changing Blocks is about mods that turn blocks you already have into different shapes, designs or entirely new blocks.[3]
Rechiseled shares that spot with three other quests that also come right after Changing Blocks: "Chisel Reborn" quest, "Chipped" quest and "Framed Blocks" quest.[3]
Step 1: craft the chisel
The chisel uses the mod's own shaped crafting recipe, unchanged by the pack. Here is the exact in-pack recipe:[4]
Crafting Shaped
| Empty slot | any iron ingot |
| any wooden rod | Empty slot |
Recipe id: rechiseled:chisel
Once you have it, the quest text says everything in the mod works through the chisel. Right Click with it to open its GUI. You choose the design on the left and put your blocks in the bottom right.[3]
- Above the block slot you can preview the design as 1 block, as 3x1 blocks, or as a 3x3 wall.[3]
- A button lets you set the preview image to spin or not spin.[3]
- Clicking the chisel next to the block slot applies the selected design to every block in your inventory that can be changed.[3]
- The chisel has no durability, so you never need to repair or replace it.[3]
A pack-added polishing recipe
The pack adds a Create sandpaper polishing recipe for the Rechiseled basalt blocks. It turns Basalt Bordered Connecting into Basalt Bordered Polished Connecting. This is the pack's own addition, not a recipe that comes with the mod.[4]
Sandpaper Polishing (create)
Recipe id: create_dragons_plus:sandpaper_polishing/rechiseled/basalt_bordered_connecting
Unverified The quest and recipe data for this pack show no further tiers or unlock steps for Rechiseled beyond the chisel and the one polishing recipe above.
How does Rechiseled work with other mods?
1 part
Same as in the All the Mods 10 0.53 guide
I couldn't find any in-pack recipes or quests that connect Rechiseled with other mods, so there's nothing pack-specific to show you here. What I can tell you is what the mod's own project page says about its official addons.[1]
Official addons
- Rechiseled: Create adds the Mechanical Chisel, which can automatically chisel blocks using contraptions from Create. It also adds 100+ decorative variants for Create blocks.[1]
- Rechiseled: Applied Energistics 2 adds the Chiseling Pattern Encoder, which lets you autocraft Rechiseled recipes with an Applied Energistics 2 storage system. It also adds 100+ new decorative variants of Applied Energistics 2 blocks.[1]
- Rechiseled: Cobblemon adds decorative variants for the Tumblestone, Apricorn, and Saccharine block sets in Cobblemon.[1]
Unverified Whether any of these addons is installed in this pack is unconfirmed. No cross-mod recipes or quests turned up for Rechiseled here, so check your item list in-game before relying on the Mechanical Chisel, the Chiseling Pattern Encoder, or the extra variants.
Which All the Mons quests use Rechiseled?
2 parts
Rechiseled has one quest in this pack, and it sits in the Building Tips chapter, which has 61 quests in total. The quest is called "Rechiseled" quest and asks you to obtain the Chisel from Rechiseled.[3]
Where it sits in the chapter
The chapter opens with "Building Tips!" quest. From there, "Tools!" quest comes next, and it asks for a stick. After that comes "Changing Blocks" quest, which is about changing the blocks you already have into different shapes and designs. "Rechiseled" quest follows directly after it.[3]
Three other quests also follow "Changing Blocks" quest: "Chisel Reborn" quest, "Chipped" quest and "Framed Blocks" quest. You can pick them up in any order alongside the Rechiseled quest.[3]
What the quest tells you
The quest describes Rechiseled as a continuation of Chiseled, and says everything in the mod works through the chisel tool. Right Click with it to open its GUI.[3]
- On the left of the GUI you choose the design.[3]
- At the bottom right you put the blocks you want to change.[3]
- Above that you can preview the design in set patterns: a single block, 3x1 blocks, or a 3x3 wall of that block.[3]
- A button lets you set the preview image to spin or not spin.[3]
- Next to where the blocks go, you can click the chisel to set the selected design on every block in your inventory that can be changed.[3]
What changed in Rechiseled between versions?
1 part
All the Mons 0.3.0-beta ships Rechiseled 1.1.6+a. The pack's mod list shows it was first included in 0.3.0-beta or earlier, so it can't be narrowed down further from what I have.[2]
Changes in the mod's own changelog
- 1.1.6: the initial release of Rechiseled, listed in the changelog for Minecraft 1.20.5 and 1.20.6.[6]
- 1.1.6a: fixed missing mining tags for chiseled blocks. This is the version the pack includes.[2][6]
The jar in the pack is named rechiseled-1.1.6a-neoforge-mc1.21.jar, so it is built for NeoForge and labeled for Minecraft 1.21, even though the changelog's initial-release line mentions 1.20.5 and 1.20.6.[2][6]
Unverified Pack changelog entries for Rechiseled across All the Mons releases are not available, so any pack-level changes to this mod are unverified.
