What is OmniTools?

OmniTools is part of this pack, and you'll find version 1.21.1-1.2.0 in the mod list (the file is omnitools-1.21.1-1.2.0.jar).[1]

It has been in the pack since 1.5.0 or earlier, so if you've played an older version of the pack, it isn't new in 1.6.0.[1]

Unverified The sources I have don't describe what OmniTools adds, who it suits best, or where it fits in the pack's progression. I also can't confirm whether it is connected to quests or the ATM Star path. I've left those details out rather than guess, so check the mod in-game before relying on any of them.

How do you get started with OmniTools?

2 parts

OmniTools is a small mod in this pack, and getting started with it comes down to the Omni Wrench and the Omni Vajra. Both have in-pack recipes, so you can plan around them.[2]

Make the Omni Wrench first

The Omni Wrench is a multi-mod tool that replaces many separate wrenches. If you're building machines and pipes from several mods, this one tool saves you inventory space and swapping.[3]

Heads up: the pack changed this recipe, so don't rely on the mod's default. Here is the exact in-pack version.[2]

Tip: You can bind a key in the controls menu (default: Left Alt) to cycle the Omni Wrench's modes.[3]

Then make the Omni Vajra

The Omni Vajra is the other OmniTools item with a recipe in this pack. The pack changed this recipe as well, so follow the version below.[2]

How does OmniTools work?

3 parts

OmniTools is a tool mod rather than a machine mod. The sources for this pack don't describe any machines, multiblocks, power, fluid or item handling for it, so this section only covers what can be confirmed: the Omni Wrench and how you get it and the Omni Vajra.[2][3]

The Omni Wrench

The Omni Wrench is described as a multi-mod omni tool that replaces many separate wrenches. In practice, you carry one tool instead of a pile of mod-specific ones.[3]

It has several modes, and you cycle through them with a keybind. By default that key is Left Alt, and you can rebind it in the controls menu.[3]

Tip: If Left Alt clashes with another keybind, open the controls menu and rebind the mode-cycling key for the Omni Wrench.[3]

Crafting in this pack

The pack changes the Omni Wrench recipe with KubeJS, so don't rely on the mod's default recipe. The recipe below is the one that applies in this pack.[2]

The Omni Vajra also has a pack-changed recipe, shown below.[2]

What isn't confirmed

Unverified The sources don't say which modes the Omni Wrench has or which mods' blocks each mode works with. They also don't explain what the Omni Vajra does, and no OmniTools config files are available for this pack. Check these in-game before relying on them.

How do you progress through OmniTools?

2 parts

OmniTools doesn't have a long tier ladder in this pack. The recipe dump shows only the Omni Wrench and the Omni Vajra as crafted items from the mod. Both use shaped recipes that the pack has changed, so don't rely on recipes you remember from other packs.[2]

Omni Wrench

The pack has changed the recipe for the Omni Wrench. Look at the recipe below before you start gathering materials, because it is the one that counts here.[2]

Omni Vajra

The Omni Vajra also has a pack-changed shaped recipe. Check the grid below so you know what to collect first.[2]

How does OmniTools work with other mods?

2 parts

In this pack, OmniTools connects to other mods through crafting. Both the Omni Wrench and the Omni Vajra are built from items that belong to other mods, so you need to make progress in those mods before you can craft them.[2]

Omni Wrench

The Omni Wrench recipe is changed by the pack. It asks for wrench-style tools from several other mods, plus a diamond gear and a fluix gem from common tags. The recipe below shows exactly what it takes in this pack.[2]

This recipe is changed by the pack, so it can differ from the mod's default.

Omni Vajra

The Omni Vajra recipe is also changed by the pack. It uses an item from Actually Additions and ingots picked by common tag, so any mod that provides the matching enderium and netherite ingots will do.[2]

This recipe is also changed by the pack, so it can differ from the mod's default.

Tip: Some inputs in both recipes are common tags (ingots, diamond gears, fluix gems), so any item carrying the right tag works. The Omni Wrench is worth planning ahead for, because it needs tools from several different mods.[2]

What changed in OmniTools between versions?

2 parts

FTB StoneBlock 4 1.6.0 ships OmniTools 1.21.1-1.2.0. The mod was already in the pack by 1.5.0 or earlier. I have no pack changelog entries for it, so everything below comes from the mod's own changelogs.[1]

1.2.0 (the version in this pack)

  • Added the Omni Vajra, an all-in-one mining tool with adjustable mining speed and an auto pickup mode. It is also tagged as a wrench tool.[4]
  • Added a CONFIG mode to the Omni Wrench. For now it works with the Mekanism Configuration Card and the AE2 Memory Card.[4]

If you run Mekanism or AE2 machines, the new CONFIG mode is the one to try first, since those are the two cards it currently supports.[4]

1.1.0

  • Added compat for wrenching the ExtendedAE wireless connector and hub.[5]
  • Added Draconic Evolution crystal linking compat. The beams stay visible while you hold LINK mode.[5]
  • Added a GregTech wire cutter tag.[5]
  • Added a prefix for the wrench operation module name prompts.[5]
  • Added a messaging prefix for Botania Wand of the Forest binding-mode compat. The changelog marks this one as 1.20.1.[5]
