What is Ender Storage?
3 parts
Ender Storage lets you stash items and fluids in "the End", so they are everywhere and nowhere at once. Every piece of storage has a color code, and anything with the same color code shares one inventory, even across dimensions. That makes it a great answer to "how do I get at my base stuff when I'm not at my base?"[1]
The pack ships Ender Storage version 2.13.0.191.[2]
The three types of storage
- Ender Chest: the stationary option. You can dye the wool pads on top to change its color code, or craft it with three dyes to set the code that way. It works like any other chest for blocks that manipulate chest contents, so it is handy for moving items over long distances instantly.[1]
- Ender Pouch: the mobile option. Use it on an Ender Chest to copy that chest's color code, and you can reach the same inventory straight from your pack.[1][3]
- Ender Tank: works on the same principle as the chest, but stores liquids.[1][3]
Playing with friends
If you play on a server, use a diamond on the latch of an Ender Chest. That moves it to a separate network just for you, so each player has all 4096 frequencies without clashing with anyone else.[1]
Where it fits in the pack
Ender Storage has a quest in the logistics storage chapter, quest "Ender Storage" quest. Its tasks are the Ender Chest, Ender Tank and Ender Pouch, so the pack points you at all three as part of your storage setup.[1][3]
How do you get started with Ender Storage?
3 parts
The mod's project page describes Ender Storage as linking storage together by color. Any Ender Storage block or item with the same color code shares one inventory, even across dimensions. That lets you reach your base stuff from anywhere.[1]
Currently the mod has three kinds of storage: the Ender Chest, the Ender Pouch and the Ender Tank. Here is the order I'd go in.[1][4]
Your first steps
- Start with the Ender Chest. It's the stationary one. You can use dye on the wool pads on top to change its color code, or craft the chest together with three dyes to change the code that way.[1]
- Make an Ender Pouch next. According to the project page it's the mobile version, and it accesses the same inventory as the chests that share its color code, so your base resources can be right in your inventory when you're out exploring.[1][4]
- The project page says you can use a pouch on any Ender Chest to change the pouch's color code to match the chest. After that, both access the same storage.[1]
- Add an Ender Tank when you need to store liquids. The project page says it works on the same principle as the chest, but for liquids.[1][4]
The pouch recipe in this pack
The pouch has its own crafting recipe in this pack, shown below.[4]

Changing colors
This pack also has recolour recipes for the chest, the pouch and the tank, so you can change the color code of any of them by crafting.[4]
The pack also has matching recolour recipes for the pouch and the tank.
The storage chapter of the pack's logistics quests has a quest that asks for the chest, the tank and the pouch, so it works as a handy checklist: "Ender Storage" quest.[3]
How does Ender Storage work?
5 parts
Ender Storage is built around one idea: colour codes. Any Ender Storage with the same colour code shares one inventory, even across dimensions. The mod has three kinds of storage: the Ender Chest, the Ender Pouch and the Ender Tank.[1][5]
Ender Chest: the stationary one
The Ender Chest is the fixed storage point. To change its colour code, use dye on the wool pads on top of the chest. You can also craft the chest together with three dyes to change the code.[1]
Recolouring an Ender Chest by crafting, using three dyes.
Ender Chests work like any other chest for blocks that manipulate a chest's contents. That makes them a good way to move items over long distances instantly.[1]
Ender Pouch: your portable link
The Ender Pouch is the mobile version. Use it on any Ender Chest and the pouch takes on that chest's colour code. From then on it opens the same inventory as the chest, so you can reach your base storage from your inventory.[1][5]
Create Recipe (enderstorage)

| any leather | any ender pearl | any leather |
| any wool |
Recipe id: enderstorage:ender_pouch
Ender Tank: the same idea for liquids
The Ender Tank works on the same principle as the chest, but it stores liquids instead of items.[1][5]
Personal storage with a diamond
Use a diamond on the latch of an Ender Chest to move it to a separate network for the player who used the diamond. Each player then has access to all 4096 frequencies without conflicting with others on a server.[1]
In this pack the locking item is set by personalItem, and it is minecraft:diamond. The config describes it as the item used to lock Ender Chests and Tanks.[6]
anarchyMode is off in this pack (false). If it were on, chests would lose their personal settings and drop the diamond when broken.[6]
Pack settings that affect how it behaves
- item_storage_size is 1 in this pack. The config lists 0 as 3x3, 1 as 3x9 and 2 as 6x9, with 1 as the default, so this pack uses the 3x9 size.[6]
- disableCreatorVisuals is false, so the tank shown on top of creators' heads is not disabled.[6]
- useVanillaEnderChestsSounds is false, so Ender Storage uses the standard chest sounds rather than vanilla Ender Chest sounds.[6]
How do you progress through Ender Storage?
3 parts
Ender Storage has no tier chain in this pack's data, so there is nothing to upgrade through. Instead you work with the Ender Chest, the Ender Tank and the Ender Pouch.[3][4]
The quest
In the pack's logistics storage quest chapter, the quest "Ender Storage" quest covers this mod. Its tasks are to obtain the Ender Chest, the Ender Tank and the Ender Pouch, so finishing it means getting each of them.[3]
Crafting the Ender Pouch
The pack has a crafting recipe for the Ender Pouch. It accepts any item from the ender pearl, leather and wool tags, so you don't need a specific variant of those. Here is the exact in-pack recipe:[4]

Blaze powder is the one fixed ingredient. The rest come from item tags.
Recolouring
The pack also has a recolour recipe for each of the chest, the tank and the pouch. Here they are:[4]
How does Ender Storage work with other mods?
3 parts
Ender Storage connects to other mods in this pack through two recipes the pack added itself. Both are handled by a custom machine and sit under the world_engine group. They take the mod's storage blocks together with items from other mods.[4]
Ender Chest recipe
The first recipe starts from an Ender Chest. It combines it with items from other mods, and the block below shows the exact inputs. One of those inputs is the Iron Chest.[4]
Custom Machine (custommachinery)
Recipe id: ftb:world_engine/enderstorage_ender_chest_x2
Ender Tank recipe
The second recipe is the same idea for the Ender Tank, and the block below shows the exact inputs. Items from other mods that show up across these two recipes include the Singularity Tank, the Blazegold Ingot and Obsidian.[4]
Custom Machine (custommachinery)
Recipe id: ftb:world_engine/enderstorage_ender_tank_x2
Quests
The storage quest "Ender Storage" quest only asks for Ender Storage items: the Ender Chest, the Ender Tank and the Ender Pouch. It does not tie into any other mod, so the two recipes above are the only cross-mod links I can confirm.[3][4]
Which FTB StoneBlock 4 quests use Ender Storage?
In this pack's quest book, Ender Storage appears in the Logistics Storage chapter. That makes it a short section: there is only a small quest to look at, not a long questline.[3]
The quest is "Ender Storage" quest, and it has no title in the quest book. It asks you to hand in these items, in the order the quest lists them:[3]
Which Ender Storage config options matter?
3 parts
Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 guide
Ender Storage keeps its settings in one file, and there are only a handful of options. Here is exactly how this pack has them set.[7]
Chest size
item_storage_size controls the size of each Ender Storage inventory: 0 is 3x3, 1 is 3x9 and 2 is 6x9. This pack sets it to 1, so every inventory is 3x9. That matches the default the config file lists, so the pack has not changed it.[7]
Locking chests and tanks
personalItem sets which item locks Ender Chests and Tanks, and this pack uses Diamond. Using a diamond on the latch of an Ender Chest moves it to a separate network for the player who used it. That way each player gets all 4096 frequencies without conflicting with others on a server.[1][7]
anarchyMode is set to false in this pack. If it is turned on, chests lose their personal settings and drop the diamond when broken.[7]
Looks and sounds
- disableCreatorVisuals is false in this pack. If you turn it on, it disables the tank on top of creators' heads.[7]
- useVanillaEnderChestsSounds is false in this pack, so Ender Storage uses the standard chest sounds. Enable it if you want vanilla Ender Chest sounds instead.[7]
What changed in Ender Storage between versions?
