What is Ender Storage?
3 parts
Ender Storage lets you keep your items in The End, so they are everywhere and nowhere at once. Every piece of Ender Storage is linked by a color code, and anything with the same color code shares the same inventory, even across dimensions. This pack includes version 2.13.0.191.[1][2]
The three storage types
- Ender Chest: the stationary option. You can dye the wool pads on top to change its color code, or craft it with three dyes to set the code. It works like a normal chest for blocks that manipulate chest contents, so it is a great way to move items over huge distances instantly.[1]
- Ender Pouch: the mobile option. Use it on an Ender Chest to copy that chest's color code, and you can reach the same inventory straight from your own inventory. This answers the question of how to get at your base stuff when you are not there.[1][3]
- Ender Tank: works on the same principle as the chest, but it stores liquids.[1][3]
Who it is for
If you want to reach your base resources from anywhere, or share items and fluids between machines in different places or dimensions, this is the mod for you. On multiplayer, use a diamond on the latch of an Ender Chest to move it to a separate network just for you. That gives each player access to all 4096 frequencies without conflicts.[1]
Where it fits in the pack
The pack's quest book covers all three blocks and items in its general storage chapter. Quest "Ender Storage" quest has tasks for the Ender Chest, Ender Tank and Ender Pouch.[1][3]
Unverified The sources do not show how the pack handles the crafting recipes for these items, or at which stage of progression you are expected to unlock them. Check the recipe pages and the quest in game before planning around them.
How do you get started with Ender Storage?
5 parts
Ender Storage links storage together by color. Any Ender Storage item with the same color code shares an inventory, even across dimensions. The mod has three types of storage: the Ender Chest, the Ender Pouch and the Ender Tank. The order below is a good way to work through them.[1]
First: the Ender Chest
Start with the Ender Chest. It is the stationary storage block, and it works like any other chest for blocks that manipulate chest contents. Place it at your base as your stash.[1]
Create Recipe (enderstorage)
| any wool | ||
| any obsidian | any wooden chest | any obsidian |
| any ender pearl |
Recipe id: enderstorage:ender_chest
This is the in-pack recipe for the Ender Chest.
You can change its color code by using dye on the wool pads on top. The color pattern decides which shared inventory it opens, so every chest with the same colors opens the same stuff.[1]
Next: the Ender Pouch
Then craft the Ender Pouch. It is the portable type, so you can reach your base stash from your inventory while you are out exploring.[1][4]
Create Recipe (enderstorage)
| any leather | ||
| any leather | any ender pearl | any leather |
| any wool |
Recipe id: enderstorage:ender_pouch
This is the in-pack recipe for the Ender Pouch.
To link it, use the pouch on an Ender Chest. The pouch takes on that chest's color code and then opens the same inventory.[1]
Last: the Ender Tank
Finally there is the Ender Tank. It works on the same principle as the chest, but it stores liquids instead of items.[1][4]

Recipe id: enderstorage:ender_tank

Changing colors
The pack also has a separate recolour recipe for each of the chest, the pouch and the tank. The recipe dump lists them with no item inputs, so check the recipe viewer in game to see how they work.[4]

Quest book
The general storage chapter of the quest book has the quest "Ender Storage" quest, with item tasks for the Ender Chest, the Ender Tank and the Ender Pouch.[3]
How does Ender Storage work?
4 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
Ender Storage works on one idea: color codes. Every piece of Ender Storage that has the same color code shares the same inventory, even across dimensions. That is how you can drop items into a chest at one place and pull them out somewhere else instantly.[1]
Currently there are three kinds of storage: the Ender Chest, the Ender Pouch and the Ender Tank. All three are covered below.[1][5]
Ender Chest (stationary storage)
The Ender Chest is the stationary option. To change its color code, use dye on the wool pads on top of the chest. You can also craft the chest together with three dyes to change the code.[1]
For blocks that manipulate chest contents, an Ender Chest behaves like any other chest. That makes it a quick way to move items over huge distances.[1]

Ender Pouch (portable access)
The Ender Pouch is the mobile version. Use it on any Ender Chest and the pouch takes on that chest's color code. After that it opens the same inventory as the matching chest, so you can reach your base resources right from your inventory.[1][5]

Ender Tank (shared fluids)
The Ender Tank follows the same principle as the chest, but it stores liquids instead of items. Tanks with matching color codes share their contents.[1][5]

Personal networks on servers
If you play on a multiplayer server, use a diamond on the latch of an Ender Chest. This moves that chest to a separate network that belongs to the player who used the diamond. Each player then has access to all 4096 frequencies without conflicting with anyone else.[1]
Unverified The sources here do not show the Ender Tank's fluid capacity, transfer speeds, or how it works with pipes, hoppers and other automation. The pack has no config files for this mod, and no in-jar guidebook was found, so those details are not documented here.
How do you progress through Ender Storage?
3 parts
Ender Storage has no tier ladder in this pack. The pack's quest book groups the Ender Chest, the Ender Tank and the Ender Pouch together, and each has its own crafting recipe. Nothing in the pack data makes one an upgrade of another, so you can make them in whatever order suits your base.[3][4]
Where the quest book puts it
Ender Storage sits in the general_storage chapter, in the quest "Ender Storage" quest. Its tasks are the Ender Chest, the Ender Tank and the Ender Pouch, so you finish it by handing in each of those items.[3]
Crafting each item
Here is the exact in-pack recipe for the Ender Chest.[4]

Recolouring
Each of these items also has a separate recolour recipe in the pack, so you can change an existing item's colours without crafting a new one from scratch.[4]

Which FTB Skies 2 quests use Ender Storage?
Ender Storage appears in the pack's questbook in the "general_storage" chapter, in a single quest.[3]
The quest is "Ender Storage" quest, and it has no title in the questbook. Its tasks are item tasks, listed in this order:[3]
Between them, these tasks cover the Ender Chest, the Ender Tank and the Ender Pouch, so the quest works as a quick checklist of what Ender Storage offers in this pack.[3]
Which Ender Storage config options matter?
3 parts
Ender Storage keeps its settings in one file, and there are only a handful of options. Here is exactly how this pack has them set.[6]
Chest size
item_storage_size controls the size of each Ender Storage inventory: 0 is 3x3, 1 is 3x9 and 2 is 6x9. This pack sets it to 1, so every inventory is 3x9. That matches the default the config file lists, so the pack has not changed it.[6]
Locking chests and tanks
personalItem sets which item locks Ender Chests and Tanks, and this pack uses Diamond. Using a diamond on the latch of an Ender Chest moves it to a separate network for the player who used it. That way each player gets all 4096 frequencies without conflicting with others on a server.[1][6]
anarchyMode is set to false in this pack. If it is turned on, chests lose their personal settings and drop the diamond when broken.[6]
Looks and sounds
- disableCreatorVisuals is false in this pack. If you turn it on, it disables the tank on top of creators' heads.[6]
- useVanillaEnderChestsSounds is false in this pack, so Ender Storage uses the standard chest sounds. Enable it if you want vanilla Ender Chest sounds instead.[6]
What changed in Ender Storage between versions?
FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 ships Ender Storage 2.13.0.191. The mod was first included in FTB Skies 2 1.0.1 or earlier, so it has been in the pack for a long time.[2]
Unverified The sources here do not show any pack changelog entries for Ender Storage, so any pack-specific changes to it across releases are unverified.
