What is XyCraft Core?

Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide

XyCraft Core is part of the pack, and the version you get here is 0.7.53 (the file is xycraft_core-0.7.53-all.jar).[1]

It has been in the pack for a while: the mod list shows it was first included in version 2.25 or earlier, so it isn't a recent addition.[1]

Unverified I couldn't confirm what XyCraft Core adds or who it is best suited for. There is no in-jar guidebook and no platform description to draw on, so this guide doesn't describe its features or mechanics.

Unverified There is no confirmed place for XyCraft Core in the pack's progression. It is not on the ATM Star quest path, and no quests in the pack involve it.

How do you get started with XyCraft Core?

1 part

Same as in the All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.0.4 guide

I'd love to give you a first-items crafting order for XyCraft Core, but the sources here don't show one for this pack. No quests involve it, and no recipes for its items are shown, so I won't invent a path. What I can confirm comes from the mod's own text strings.[2]

What you can check straight away

  • Controls: the mod adds a key binding category called XyCraft, with a Modifier Key entry. Open your Controls screen and see what it is bound to before you start.[2]
  • Strict Mode: some slots have a Strict Mode. The game shows a hint telling you which key toggles it.[2]
  • Energy use: the mod has a description line reading "Energy per action", so energy cost is shown to you directly on the things that use it.[2]

Unverified The recipes, quests and config values for XyCraft Core in this pack are not shown in the sources here. Check the pack's own quest book and recipe viewer to find out what to craft first. This site does hold FTB Skies 2: Aero's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.

How does XyCraft Core work?

2 parts

The sources I have for XyCraft Core only cover its interface text, so this section is short. I can tell you which systems the mod has settings and screen elements for, but not how the machines or multiblocks work inside.[3]

What the mod's text tells us

  • Energy use is shown per action. The mod has a description line that reads "Energy per action", followed by a value. So you can expect machines or tools to show how much energy each action costs.[3]
  • Slots can have a Strict Mode. The slot screen has a "Strict Mode" label and a hint that you toggle it with a key. The text doesn't say what Strict Mode changes, so test it in game before relying on it for automation.[3]
  • The mod adds its own key binding category called XyCraft, with a Modifier Key entry. That is where you will find the key used for that toggle hint.[3]
  • A block tag called Colored Cloud Blocks exists, which suggests the mod has a set of coloured cloud blocks.[3]

Settings the mod exposes

The mod's language file names a few options. On the client side there is an Actuator Pickup Delay, a Visuals group with Fluid Unit and UI Interpolation Rate, and a Debug Settings group. The debug group has Show Hidden Recipes, Show Item Tags and Show Reload Message. On the server side there is an Energy Paradigm option.[3]

The pack has no config file for this mod that I can see, so I can't tell you the values it uses for any of these. Don't assume the mod defaults apply.[3]

Unverified How XyCraft Core's machines, multiblocks, power and fluid handling, and item automation actually work in this pack is not confirmed by the available sources. No guidebook, documentation or recipes were found for it.

How do you progress through XyCraft Core?

There is no tier-by-tier path for XyCraft Core that I can confirm for this pack. The one pack script I have, the fluid tag script, only touches fluids and buckets from other mods such as Mekanism, Modern Industrialization and Oritech. Nothing from XyCraft Core appears in it, so the pack does not change the mod's fluids through that script.[4]

Unverified Which quests mention XyCraft Core, and which recipes produce its items, is told by the pack's quest book and its recipe data. The sources here show neither, so I can't lay out tiers or crafting steps for the mod without guessing.
