What is XyCraft Core?
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
XyCraft Core is part of the pack, and the version you get here is 0.7.53 (the file is xycraft_core-0.7.53-all.jar).[1]
It has been in the pack for a while: the mod list shows it was first included in version 2.25 or earlier, so it isn't a recent addition.[1]
Unverified I couldn't confirm what XyCraft Core adds or who it is best suited for. There is no in-jar guidebook and no platform description to draw on, so this guide doesn't describe its features or mechanics.
Unverified There is no confirmed place for XyCraft Core in the pack's progression. It is not on the ATM Star quest path, and no quests in the pack involve it.
How do you get started with XyCraft Core?
1 part
Same as in the All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.0.4 guide
I'd love to give you a first-items crafting order for XyCraft Core, but the sources here don't show one for this pack. No quests involve it, and no recipes for its items are shown, so I won't invent a path. What I can confirm comes from the mod's own text strings.[2]
What you can check straight away
- Controls: the mod adds a key binding category called XyCraft, with a Modifier Key entry. Open your Controls screen and see what it is bound to before you start.[2]
- Strict Mode: some slots have a Strict Mode. The game shows a hint telling you which key toggles it.[2]
- Energy use: the mod has a description line reading "Energy per action", so energy cost is shown to you directly on the things that use it.[2]
Unverified The recipes, quests and config values for XyCraft Core in this pack are not shown in the sources here. Check the pack's own quest book and recipe viewer to find out what to craft first. This site does hold All the Mods 10: To the Sky's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
How does XyCraft Core work?
2 parts
XyCraft Core shares its rule system with XyCraft Machines, and the pack's own script is the clearest look at that in action. The sources here explain only a small part of the machinery, so I'll stick to what they actually show.[3]
Extractor recipes and block rules
The pack adds its own extractor recipes through a server script. Each one is a recipe of the type xycraft_machines:extractor. It names a target block, a list of adjacent conditions and a number of ticks, and it gives an output item with a count of 1.[3]
The script covers the Create stones Veridium, Crimsite, Asurine and Ochrum. For each of them the target is the stone block itself, and the output is that same stone. Every recipe takes 40 ticks.[3]
The adjacent conditions are identical for every stone: a Blue Ice block and lava as a fluid have to be next to the target. They are checked as rules, a block rule for the ice and a fluid type rule for the lava.[3]
The script's helper knows these rule types, all from xycraft_core: block, block tag, fluid type, fluid tag, block state, property and fuzzy block state. The pack's recipes only use the block rule and the fluid type rule.[3]
The helper can also take a catalyst rule, a waterlogged fluid, a list of valid directions and extra output components. None of the pack's recipes set any of these.[3]
What the interface shows
The mod's language file shows a few things you will run into. There is an "Energy per action" description, slots have a Strict Mode with a hint telling you which key toggles it, and the mod adds a Modifier Key under its own XyCraft key bind category.[2]
The mod's settings include client options for Actuator Pickup Delay, Fluid Unit, UI Interpolation Rate and some debug toggles, such as showing hidden recipes and item tags. On the server side there is a setting called Energy Paradigm.[2]
Unverified What Energy Paradigm does, what Strict Mode changes, and the values of the settings above are not shown by the sources here. The sources include no config files for this mod, so these details are not confirmed.
How do you progress through XyCraft Core?
1 part
The sources I have for this pack don't lay out a tier-by-tier path for XyCraft Core, so I'm not going to invent one. What they do show is one pack script that uses XyCraft Core's block and fluid matching rules inside an extractor recipe from XyCraft Machines.[3]
The pack's Create stone extractor recipes
The pack registers an extractor recipe for each of these natural stones from Create. Each recipe takes the matching stone block as its target and gives you 1 of that same stone per operation. Every recipe runs for 40 ticks.[3]
- Veridium: the target is a veridium block, and the output is 1 veridium.[3]
- Crimsite: the target is a crimsite block, and the output is 1 crimsite.[3]
- Asurine: the target is an asurine block, and the output is 1 asurine.[3]
- Ochrum: the target is an ochrum block, and the output is 1 ochrum.[3]
All of these recipes share the same surroundings requirement. Besides the target block, the extractor needs blue ice as an adjacent block and lava as an adjacent fluid. The script matches these with XyCraft Core's block rule and fluid type rule.[3]
The script also contains helper code for other XyCraft Core matching rules, such as block tags, fluid tags and block states. None of the extractor recipes in this script use them, so the block and fluid rules above are all you need here.[3]
