What is XyCraft Core?
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
XyCraft Core is part of the pack, and the version you get here is 0.7.53 (the file is xycraft_core-0.7.53-all.jar).[1]
It has been in the pack for a while: the mod list shows it was first included in version 2.25 or earlier, so it isn't a recent addition.[1]
Unverified I couldn't confirm what XyCraft Core adds or who it is best suited for. There is no in-jar guidebook and no platform description to draw on, so this guide doesn't describe its features or mechanics.
Unverified There is no confirmed place for XyCraft Core in the pack's progression. It is not on the ATM Star quest path, and no quests in the pack involve it.
How do you get started with XyCraft Core?
1 part
Same as in the All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.0.4 guide
I'd love to give you a first-items crafting order for XyCraft Core, but the sources here don't show one for this pack. No quests involve it, and no recipes for its items are shown, so I won't invent a path. What I can confirm comes from the mod's own text strings.[2]
What you can check straight away
- Controls: the mod adds a key binding category called XyCraft, with a Modifier Key entry. Open your Controls screen and see what it is bound to before you start.[2]
- Strict Mode: some slots have a Strict Mode. The game shows a hint telling you which key toggles it.[2]
- Energy use: the mod has a description line reading "Energy per action", so energy cost is shown to you directly on the things that use it.[2]
Unverified The recipes, quests and config values for XyCraft Core in this pack are not shown in the sources here. Check the pack's own quest book and recipe viewer to find out what to craft first. This site does hold FTB Skies 2's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
How does XyCraft Core work?
2 parts
The pack ships no guidebook or config files for this mod, so the only in-depth mechanic the sources show is the extractor recipe format. Below is what the pack's own scripts and the mod's text strings confirm.[3][4][5]
Extractor recipes
The pack adds several recipes of the type xycraft_machines:extractor through its scripts. Each one has the same shape: a target block, a list of adjacent conditions, an output with a count, and a time in ticks. The conditions are written with xycraft_core rules: a block rule, a fluid type rule, and a fluid tag rule.[4][5]
- Sculk: the target is Sculk. The adjacent conditions are molten ender fluid, a Sculk Catalyst and End Stone. It outputs 1 sculk and takes 30 ticks.[5]
- Concrete: for every dye color, the target is that color of concrete. The adjacent conditions are that color's dye fluid from create_dragons_plus and lava. It outputs 1 concrete and takes 30 ticks.[5]
- Limestone: the target is Limestone. The adjacent conditions are any fluid in the c:honey tag and lava. It outputs 1 limestone and takes 100 ticks.[4]
The limestone recipe has a second route in this pack: a Modern Industrialization mixer recipe that uses 1,000 of honey and 1,000 of lava, costs 2 EU and runs for 100 ticks. The extractor version needs no mixer.[4]
Interface and settings
The mod's text strings show a few things you will run into. Machine descriptions can show an energy cost as "Energy per action". Slots have a Strict Mode, and the tooltip tells you which key toggles it. The mod also adds a Modifier Key under an XyCraft category in the key binds screen.[3]
The language file also lists some option names. On the server side there is Energy Paradigm. On the client side there are Actuator Pickup Delay, Fluid Unit and UI Interpolation Rate, plus debug toggles for showing hidden recipes, item tags and the reload message. The pack has no config file for this mod, so the values these options take are not covered here.[3]
Unverified What Strict Mode changes, what the Energy Paradigm setting does, how much energy each action costs, and how the mod's multiblocks, power, fluid and item handling work are not confirmed by the available sources.
How do you progress through XyCraft Core?
2 parts
The sources for this pack don't show a tier-by-tier progression for XyCraft Core, so there is no tier breakdown to give you here. What they do show is a pack script that adds extractor recipes. Those recipes use XyCraft Core's block rules and fluid type rules to decide what has to sit next to the target block.[5]
Sculk from a sculk catalyst
The pack adds an extractor recipe with a sculk block as the target and 1 Sculk as the output, taking 30 ticks. The adjacent requirements are molten ender fluid, a Sculk Catalyst and End Stone. This recipe is added by the pack's own script, not a mod default.[5]
Extractor (xycraft_machines)
Recipe id: ftb:xycraft_machines/extractor/sculk_from_sculk_catalyst
This extractor recipe is added by the pack's script.
Concrete from fluid dye and lava
The script also loops over its list of dye colours and adds an extractor recipe for each one. The target is the concrete block of that colour, such as White Concrete, and the adjacent requirements are that colour's fluid dye and lava. Each recipe outputs 1 block of concrete and takes 30 ticks, the same timing as the sculk recipe.[5]
Extractor (xycraft_machines)
Recipe id: ftb:xycraft_machines/extractor/create_fluid_dye/white
White is one example. Every colour in the script's list gets its own recipe with the same pattern.
