What is Create: Connected?
2 parts
This pack includes version 1.3.3-mc1.21.1 of Create: Connected. The sources only show a small part of what it adds: two items for moving stress between Create networks, plus a battery.[1][2]
What it does in this pack
- Kinetic Bridge transfers stress from one network to another. You choose exactly how much stress goes to the secondary network inside its interface. Stress capacity is still shared between both networks.[2]
- Overstress Clutch protects your main network. If the secondary network would cause an overstress, the clutch stops the main network from stalling.[2]
- Kinetic Battery stores stress for later use, which makes it handy for network emergencies.[2]
Where the quest book puts it
The quests for this mod sit inside the "Create" chapter, which is in the "Tech Mods" group. It is chapter 22 of 31 in the book and has 100 quests.[2]
The bridge quest, a quest in "Create", asks you for the Kinetic Bridge and the Overstress Clutch. It comes after the Brass Casing quest. The battery quest, a quest in "Create", asks for the Kinetic Battery and comes after the Precision Mechanism quest.[2]
Only part of the chapter is shown in the sources here, so the text of 58 of its 100 quests is not covered. Check the quest book itself for the rest.[2]
Unverified Whether the ATM Star path uses this mod is not shown by the sources here. Check the pack's quest book for that path.
How do you get started with Create: Connected?
5 parts
Create: Connected adds extra kinetic gadgets on top of Create, and in this pack most of them are crafted from Create's own parts. The pack's quest book has its Create: Connected quests in the Create chapter (chapter 22 of 31, in the Tech Mods group). Those are the a quest in "Create" quest and the a quest in "Create" quest. So the order below follows Create's own progression.[2][3]
Get Create's basics running
Start with the "Welcome to Create!" quest quest, which asks for Andesite Alloy. Then do "Early-game Rotational Force" quest (shafts and cogwheels) and "Hand Crank" quest. After that comes "Andesite Casing" quest, which the book says is used to craft most early-game blocks and machines. Most Connected recipes build on these parts.[2][3]
Your first Connected crafts
The easiest start is the Crank Wheel. It is a shapeless recipe made from basic Create parts, so you can craft it as soon as you have a Hand Crank.[3]
The Large Crank Wheel works the same way, using the large cogwheel instead.[3]
Crafting Shapeless
Recipe id: create_connected:crafting/kinetics/large_crank_wheel
Some Connected blocks are just conversions of two Create blocks. Two Clutches make an Inverted Clutch, and two Gearshifts make an Inverted Gearshift.[3]

You can also cut a Shaft with the Mechanical Saw to get a Shear Pin.[2][3]
Clutches and gearboxes with Andesite Casing
Once you have casings and plates, the Centrifugal Clutch is a good first machine. The mod describes it as a clutch that is only coupled if the input RPM meets a configurable threshold. The pack changed this recipe.[3][4]
Crafting Shapeless
Recipe id: create_connected:crafting/kinetics/centrifugal_clutch
The Overstress Clutch is a pack-changed recipe too, and the Kinetic Bridge quest asks for it alongside the bridge.[2][3]

Brass tier
After "The Brass Age" quest and "Brass Casing" quest, the quest book moves on to the Kinetic Bridge. It transfers stress from one network to another, and you set how much goes to the second network inside its interface. Stress capacity is still shared between both networks. An Overstress Clutch keeps the main network from stalling if the second one overstresses.[2]

How does Create: Connected work?
6 parts
Create: Connected adds extra kinetic gadgets on top of Create: new gearboxes, clutches, a battery, a programmable pulse generator, a faster chute and a family of fan catalysts. The sources describe each block in a line or two, so this section covers what they confirm and shows the pack's recipes.[4]
Gearboxes and rotation routing
The Brass Gearbox is the headline piece. The rotation direction of all 4 of its sides can be set independently with a wrench. That makes it handy when one shaft line has to feed several machines turning in different directions.[4]

The Cross Connector relays rotation in two directions independently, so two lines can cross without affecting each other. The mod also has Andesite and Brass encased versions of it.[4]
For a 6-way Gearbox, you combine two Parallel Gearbox blocks with a large cogwheel.[3]

Recipe id: create_connected:crafting/kinetics/six_way_gearbox_from_parallel
Clutches, brakes and shear pins
The Centrifugal Clutch only couples when the input RPM meets a configurable threshold. The pack changed its recipe from the mod's own.[3][4]
Crafting Shapeless
Recipe id: create_connected:crafting/kinetics/centrifugal_clutch
Unverified The sources don't give the clutch's default RPM threshold or say where it is set. The pack has no config file for this mod.
The Brake does the opposite of a power source. When powered it produces immense stress and halts the network by overstressing it. Use it as a deliberate emergency stop.[4]
The Shear Pin comes from cutting a Shaft.[3]
This is how the pack crafts the Crank Wheel.
Kinetic Battery
The Kinetic Battery can be charged, and the mod has an advancement for charging one to full. The pack changed its recipe, and one craft gives you 8 batteries.[3][4]

Sequenced Pulse Generator and Control Chip
The Sequenced Pulse Generator runs a program, and the mod even has a hidden advancement for overloading one with a buggy program. The pack changed its recipe, and it needs a Control Chip.[3][4]

Item and fluid handling
The Brass Chute is an improved chute for high throughput item transport and moves up to 64 items at a time. In this pack one craft gives 4 of them.[3][4]

The mod has more catalyst variants, such as freezing, exploding, chocolate coating, ending and many dyeing ones. The sources describe them only as dedicated bulk devices, mostly for compatible mods.[4]
How do you progress through Create: Connected?
4 parts
Create: Connected has no quest chapter of its own in this pack. It is covered inside the Create chapter (group Tech Mods, chapter 22 of 31 in the book), and the quests there that ask for its items are a quest in "Create" and a quest in "Create". The rest of the mod's items have no quest, so you follow the regular Create path and the recipes below.[2]
Early game: the andesite stage
The Create path starts at "Welcome to Create!" quest, continues to "Early-game Rotational Force" quest, then to "Andesite Casing" quest. The "Gearboxes" quest quest comes right after Andesite Casing. It asks for Create's own gearboxes, and Connected's variants like the 6-way Gearbox, Parallel Gearbox and Cross Connector have no quest, so that Gearboxes quest is the nearest step in the book.[2][3]

Plates: bigger storage
The "Plates" quest quest comes after Andesite Casing, and both "Item Vault" quest and "Fluid Tank" quest come after it. The pack changed the recipes for the Item Silo and the Fluid Vessel. Each can also be made by converting a pair of Create's own Item Vaults or Fluid Tanks.[2][3]

The brass age
"The Brass Age" quest follows Plates, and "Brass Casing" quest follows that. The Kinetic Bridge quest sits right after Brass Casing and asks for the Kinetic Bridge and the Overstress Clutch. The bridge transfers stress from one network to another, and you set how much goes to the secondary network in its interface. Stress capacity is still shared between both networks, but the Overstress Clutch keeps the main network from stalling if the secondary one would overstress.[2]

Precision Mechanism and beyond
"Deployer" quest comes after Brass Plate, "Precision Mechanism" quest after the Deployer, and the Kinetic Battery quest after Precision Mechanism. The Kinetic Battery stores stress for later, which makes it useful in network emergencies. The pack changed its recipe, and one craft makes 8 batteries.[2][3]

How does Create: Connected work with other mods?
5 parts
Most of Create: Connected's links in this pack run through Create itself. It also has recipe ties to the Copycats mod, Create Nuclear and Create Propulsion, plus the pack's own FTB Materials plates and ingots. Here is how they fit together.[3]
Swapping with Create blocks
A lot of Connected blocks are alternate versions of Create blocks, and you can convert between them with shapeless crafting. The Fluid Vessel and the Fluid Tank swap both ways, and so do the Item Silo and the Item Vault.[3]
Crafting Shapeless
Recipe id: create_connected:crafting/kinetics/fluid_vessel_from_conversion
Crafting Shapeless
Recipe id: create_connected:crafting/kinetics/item_vault_from_conversion
The same two-for-one trick works for clutches and gearshifts. Two Clutch give an Inverted Clutch, and two inverted clutches give a clutch back. Two Gearshift give an Inverted Gearshift, and the reverse works too. Redstone links convert the same way: two Redstone Link make a Linked Transmitter, and two linked transmitters make a link.[3]
Other Connected parts are built straight from Create items, including the Crank Wheel, the Large Crank Wheel, the Dashboard and the Redstone Link Wildcard. The Create items behind them include the Cogwheel, Large Cogwheel, Hand Crank, Display Board and Transmitter. The Shear Pin comes from a Create cutting recipe on a Shaft, shown below.[3]

Copycats compatibility
Connected has its own copycat blocks, and the Copycats mod has matching ones. Each Connected copycat (block, slab, stairs, beam, board, fence, fence gate, wall and vertical step) can be crafted into the Copycats version, for example Copycat Slab into Copycat Slab. The Connected Copycat Vertical Step also converts into Create's own Copycat Step.[3]

Recipes the pack changed
The pack changed many Connected recipes, and several now use FTB Materials items such as Iron Plate. These are the ones marked as changed: Centrifugal Clutch, Freewheel Clutch, Overstress Clutch, Fluid Vessel, Item Silo, Brass Chute, Empty Fan Catalyst, Kinetic Battery, Sequenced Pulse Generator and the Control Chip. So don't rely on recipes from the standalone mod.[3]

In the quest book
The Connected quests shown here sit in the "Create" chapter, which is chapter 22 of 31 in the Tech Mods group. The a quest in "Create" quest comes after Brass Casing and asks for the Kinetic Bridge and the Overstress Clutch. The quest text says the bridge moves stress from one network to another, and that an Overstress Clutch keeps the main network from stalling if the secondary one overstresses. The a quest in "Create" quest comes after Precision Mechanism and asks for the Kinetic Battery.[2]
70 of the 100 quests in that chapter aren't covered here, so check the quest book for any other Connected items it asks for.[2]
Which FTB Skies 2: Aero quests use Create: Connected?
2 parts
This mod has no chapter of its own in the pack's quest book. Its two quests sit inside the big Create chapter, which is in the Tech Mods group (chapter 22 of 31 in the book, 100 quests in total). Both quests have no title of their own, so the book names them after the item they ask for.[2]
Kinetic Bridge
a quest in "Create" asks you to hand in a Kinetic Bridge and an Overstress Clutch. The quest text says the bridge transfers stress from one network to another, and you choose how much goes to the secondary network inside its interface. Stress capacity is still shared between both networks. The clutch means the main network won't stall if the secondary network overstresses.[2]
It unlocks after "Brass Casing" quest. The path from the start of the chapter looks like this:[2]
- "Welcome to Create!" quest[2]
- "Early-game Rotational Force" quest[2]
- "Andesite Casing" quest[2]
- "Plates" quest[2]
- "The Brass Age" quest[2]
- "Brass Casing" quest[2]
- a quest in "Create"[2]
Kinetic Battery
a quest in "Create" asks for a single Kinetic Battery. The book describes Kinetic Batteries as storing stress for later use, which makes them handy for network emergencies.[2]
This one comes after "Precision Mechanism" quest, which itself follows "Deployer" quest. The Deployer quest follows "Brass Plate" quest, and that one hangs off "The Brass Age" quest. So both quests branch from the same Brass Age step, one through Brass Casing and the other through Brass Plate, Deployer and Precision Mechanism.[2]
