What is Baubley Heart Canisters?
1 part
Baubley Heart Canisters brings back the old Tinkers' Construct heart canisters as Curios, so you raise your max health by slotting canisters into amulets. Curios is required for the mod to work. This pack ships version 1.21.1-1.4.1.[1][2]
The mod page describes four heart tiers. Red hearts drop from hostile mobs, yellow from boss mobs such as the Wither, green from the Ender Dragon and blue from Wardens. It says those drops are configurable, and that each tier can also be crafted from the previous one.[1]
Canisters go into the Heart Amulet, which you wear in a Curios slot. In this pack's quest book, each canister adds a single heart, canisters stack to 10, and a base amulet holds up to 40 extra hearts. The Soul Amulet holds even more and works like a Totem of Undying: if you would die, the soul canister is consumed and reverts to a Blue Heart Canister.[1][3]
Where it sits in the quest book
The mod's quests live in the "Gearing Up" chapter, which is chapter 14 of 31 in the group "Exploration & Combat" and holds 94 quests. The chapter is mixed: it also covers Apotheosis enchanting, relics, the Productive Metalworks foundry and other gear. The heart quests form their own chain:[3]
- "The Unlimited Power of Hearts" quest is the start of the chain. Eating a miniature heart restores 10 hearts (red), 20 (yellow), 30 (blue) or 40 (green). The quest says red hearts can be made from a replicator with a blueprint.[3]
- Three quests follow it directly: "Patch Me Up!" quest for the health patches, "Fancy Apple" quest for the Relic Apple, and "The Amulet of the Heart" quest for the amulet.[3]
- After the Relic Apple comes "The Baubliest of Heart Canisters" quest for the canisters, then "A Better Movement" quest for the Heartpulse Belts, which give movement speed, step-assist and jump height.[3]
- After the amulet comes "A Soul Bound Amulet" quest, then "The Sword of Friendship" quest for the Vitality Blade, then "Colorful Bullseye" quest for the Vigor Bow. The quest book says each canister in the sword adds 1 additional damage.[3]
The quest text for 42 of the chapter's 94 quests is not covered here, so check the quest book itself for those.[3]
Unverified The sources here do not show whether the ATM Star quest path uses this mod, so check that path in the quest book.
How do you get started with Baubley Heart Canisters?
5 parts
Heart Canisters live in the "Gearing Up" chapter of the quest book, in the "Exploration & Combat" group (chapter 14 of 31). The heart line starts with "The Unlimited Power of Hearts" quest, and this page follows that line. The goal is simple: get a heart, build an amulet, then start slotting in canisters to raise your max health.[3]
Get your first heart
Hearts are the key component of the mod. The quest book says a Miniature Red Heart can be made from a replicator with a blueprint, so that is the route it points you to. The same quest covers the yellow, green and blue hearts, which are the higher tiers.[3]
Craft the Heart Amulet
The Heart Amulet holds all your canisters in one Curios slot. Right click it to open it. Hold Shift while hovering over it to see how many canisters are inside. The base amulet can hold up to 40 extra hearts. The quest for it is "The Amulet of the Heart" quest.[3][4]

You also need Wither Bone. Wither bones can drop from mobs, but the pack lowered the drop rate to 0.15 (the mod default is 0.18), see General.boneDropRate. Crafting them is the reliable route.[6]

The last part is the Relic Apple, which heals you instantly and gives buffs when eaten. This is another recipe the pack changed. The quest is "Fancy Apple" quest.[3][5]
Your first canister
Now you can make the Red Heart Canister, which uses the parts from the earlier steps. Each canister adds a single heart and they stack to 10, matching General.heartStackSize. The quest is "The Baubliest of Heart Canisters" quest. Add the canister to your amulet and you are done.[3][5][6]

Where to go next
- "Patch Me Up!" quest unlocks the health patches. The Red Health Patch restores 2 half-hearts (1 full heart) with a 5 second cooldown, a handy emergency heal.[3][6]
- "A Better Movement" quest covers the Heartpulse Belts, which give extra speed, step-assist and jump height. It comes after the canister quest.[3]
- "A Soul Bound Amulet" quest covers the Soul Amulet, which comes after the Amulet of the Heart quest. The weapons Vitality Blade and Vigor Bow follow it in the quest book.[3]
How does Baubley Heart Canisters work?
8 parts
Baubley Heart Canisters has no machines, multiblocks, power or fluids in the sources. It is a gear and progression system: you collect hearts from mobs, craft them into canisters, and wear them in a Curios slot to gain health. The mod requires Curios to work.[1]
Where hearts come from
Each heart colour has its own source. Red hearts drop from hostile mobs, yellow from boss mobs such as the Wither, green from the Ender Dragon, and blue from Wardens. The mod says all of these drops are configurable. You can also craft each tier from the previous tiers.[1]
Wither Bones drop from Wither Skeletons, and in this pack the chance is set by General.boneDropRate, which is 0.15. The mod default is 0.18, so the pack lowered it. The Warden also drops Echo Shards, which makes them renewable. General.echoShardDropRate is 0.5, the same as the mod default.[1][6]
You can also craft Wither Bones directly, which is handy if the drop rate lets you down.[5]

Canisters and tiers
Everything starts with the Canister, and the pack changes its recipe from the mod's. From there the canisters climb in order: Red Heart Canister, then Yellow Heart Canister, then Green Heart Canister, then Blue Heart Canister. Each one is crafted using the previous canister plus the matching heart.[5]

General.heartStackSize is 10 in this pack, the same as the mod default. It is the maximum stack size for heart canisters, and also the maximum number of full hearts you can get per heart container type.[6]
The Relic Apple is a crafting item you also need for the Red Heart Canister. Eating it gives Haste II, Strength II and Resistance II for one minute. The pack changed its recipe, so go by the one below.[1][5]
Melted hearts
Smelting a Miniature Blue Heart gives a Melted Blue Heart, and smelting a Miniature Green Heart gives a Melted Green Heart. A Melted Blue Heart can be crafted into 9 Melted Green Hearts, and a Melted Yellow Heart into 9 Melted Red Hearts. Melted hearts turn back into miniature hearts with another heart of any type, which gives you a way to move between tiers.[5]

The Soul Amulet works like the Heart Amulet but can also hold a Soul Heart Canister. That canister acts like a Totem of Undying: it heals you back to max health, and once consumed it reverts to a Blue Heart Canister. You get a message saying the Soul Heart has been consumed. In this pack General.soulHeartReturnChance is 1, the same as the mod default.[1][4][6]

Health patches
Each colour has a health patch with a heal amount and a cooldown. Heal amounts are in half-hearts, so 2 is one full heart, and cooldowns are in seconds. This pack uses the mod's default values for all four patches.[6]
- Red: heals 2, cooldown 5 ([[config:config/bhc-startup.toml#Heart Patches.redPatchHealAmount]], [[config:config/bhc-startup.toml#Heart Patches.redPatchCooldown]]).[6]
- Yellow: heals 6, cooldown 10 ([[config:config/bhc-startup.toml#Heart Patches.yellowPatchHealAmount]], [[config:config/bhc-startup.toml#Heart Patches.yellowPatchCooldown]]).[6]

Heartpulse belts
The belts are upgraded at a smithing table in a chain. The Green Heartpulse Belt is made from the Yellow Heartpulse Belt plus a Green and a Yellow Heart Canister. The Blue Heartpulse Belt is made from the Green belt plus a Blue and a Green Heart Canister.[5]
Unverified What the Heartpulse Belts actually do once worn is not confirmed in the available sources.
Starting health and trades
The pack ships with Server.allowStartingHealthTweaks set to false and Server.startingHealth at 20. The mod says any starting health value of 0 or below is reset to the default.[1][7]
There is also a shortcut. One entry in the pack's after_diamond trade script swaps a Miniature Red Heart for a Blue Heart Canister, at a weight of 1.[8]
How do you progress through Baubley Heart Canisters?
6 parts
Everything for this mod lives in one quest chapter: "Gearing Up", in the "Exploration & Combat" group (chapter 14 of 31 in the book). The line starts with "The Unlimited Power of Hearts" quest and branches from there into patches, the apple, the amulets and the canisters.[3]
Step 1: Hearts
Hearts are the key component of the whole mod. The quest says the Miniature Red Heart can be made in a replicator with a blueprint, and that you can eat hearts to restore health based on their level. Each use restores:[3]
- Miniature Red Heart: 10 hearts per use.[3]
- Miniature Yellow Heart: 20 hearts per use.[3]
- Miniature Blue Heart: 30 hearts per use.[3]
- Miniature Green Heart: 40 hearts per use.[3]
Step 2: Patches and the Relic Apple
"Patch Me Up!" quest comes straight after the hearts. A Health Patch heals you and has a cooldown, so don't rely on it as a lifeline. Each tier raises the amount healed: Red heals 1 heart per use, Yellow 3, Blue 6 and Green 10.[3]
The other branch from the hearts is "Fancy Apple" quest. The Relic Apple gives you buffs and heals you instantly when eaten. The pack changed its recipe from the mod's own.[3][5]

Step 3: Canisters
"The Baubliest of Heart Canisters" quest follows the apple, and the book calls the canister the most important part of the mod. Canisters go into amulets to raise your max health. Each one adds a single heart and they stack at 10. The pack also changed the recipe for the base Canister.[3][5]

Step 4: Heartpulse Belts
"A Better Movement" quest comes after the canisters. The belts are curios that give you more movement speed, step-assist and jump height. The book lists them as:[3]
- Red Heartpulse Belt: 1.5 block jump and a slight speed increase.[3]
- Yellow Heartpulse Belt: 2 block jump and a moderate speed increase.[3]
- Blue Heartpulse Belt: 2.5 block jump and a fast speed increase.[3]
- Green Heartpulse Belt: 3 block jump and a very fast speed increase.[3]
The Red belt is crafted. After that, each belt is a smithing upgrade of the previous one, in the order red, yellow, green, blue.[5]

How does Baubley Heart Canisters work with other mods?
4 parts
Baubley Heart Canisters is mostly self-contained in this pack, but it does meet other mods in a few places. The sources confirm one pack-added crafting recipe, one trade entry and a dependency on Curios.[1][5][8]
Relic Apple and the Blessed Apple
The clearest link is the Relic Apple. The pack adds an Actually Additions empowering recipe that uses it as one of several apple inputs to make a Blessed Apple. The recipe is added by the pack, so you won't find it in the mod on its own.[5]
Empowering (actuallyadditions)
Recipe id: ftb:compat/fargostalismans/actuallyadditions/empowering/blessed_apple
Added by the pack, and it is an Actually Additions empowering recipe.
The quest book has its own entry for the apple: "Fancy Apple" quest says it gives you buffs when eaten and heals you instantly.[3]
A heart trade
The pack's "after_diamond" trade script includes an entry that takes a Miniature Red Heart on the buy side and gives a Blue Heart Canister on the sell side. It sits in the same pool as entries using items from other mods, such as Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks ink and Iron's Jewelry moonstone. Each entry has a weight, and this heart entry has a weight of 1.[8]
Curios
The amulets and belts rely on Curios. The project page lists Curios as required, and the quest for the Heart Amulet tells you to equip it in the Curios slot. The quest for the heartpulse belts, such as the Red Heartpulse Belt, also calls the belt a curios.[1][3]
Where it sits in the quest book
The mod's quests are in the "Gearing Up" chapter, in the "Exploration & Combat" group (chapter 14 of 31 in the book). That chapter also covers gear from other mods, including Relics, Iron's Gems & Jewelry, Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks, Cognition and Productive Metalworks.[3]
The heart quests start with "The Unlimited Power of Hearts" quest. Three quests come right after it: "Patch Me Up!" quest, "Fancy Apple" quest and "The Amulet of the Heart" quest. "The Baubliest of Heart Canisters" quest follows the apple quest, and "A Better Movement" quest follows that. From the amulet quest the line goes on to "A Soul Bound Amulet" quest, then "The Sword of Friendship" quest, then "Colorful Bullseye" quest. The chapter has 94 quests, and 64 of them are not covered here, so check the quest book in-game for the rest.[3]
Which FTB Skies 2: Aero quests use Baubley Heart Canisters?
1 part
Every quest for this mod sits in one chapter of the pack's quest book: "Gearing Up", in the "Exploration & Combat" group (chapter 14 of 31). It is a big chapter with 94 quests, mostly about Apotheosis, Cognition and Productive Metalworks, and the heart quests make up one small branch of it.[3]
The quest line, in order
The branch starts at "The Unlimited Power of Hearts" quest, which has no prerequisite. Three quests unlock from it, and the rest follow in a chain.[3]
- "The Unlimited Power of Hearts" quest asks for one of each Miniature Heart: Miniature Red Heart, Miniature Yellow Heart, Miniature Green Heart and Miniature Blue Heart. The quest says hearts can be eaten to restore health: 10 hearts per use for red, 20 for yellow, 30 for blue and 40 for green. It also says Red Hearts can be made in a replicator with a blueprint.[3]
- "Patch Me Up!" quest comes after the hearts and asks for the four health patches: Red Health Patch, Yellow Health Patch, Green Health Patch and Blue Health Patch. The quest describes a patch as a band-aid with a cooldown. It heals 1 heart (red), 3 (yellow), 6 (blue) or 10 (green) per use.[3]
- "Fancy Apple" quest also follows the hearts and asks for the Relic Apple. The quest says it gives you buffs when eaten and heals you instantly.[3]
- "The Baubliest of Heart Canisters" quest comes after the apple and asks for the four canisters: Red Heart Canister, Yellow Heart Canister, Green Heart Canister and Blue Heart Canister. Canisters are slotted into amulets to raise your max health. Each one adds a single heart, and they stack to 10.[3]
- "A Better Movement" quest follows the canisters and asks for the four heartpulse belts: Red Heartpulse Belt, Yellow Heartpulse Belt, Green Heartpulse Belt and Blue Heartpulse Belt. They are curios that give extra movement speed, step-assist and jump height. The red one gives a 1.5 block jump, yellow 2, blue 2.5 and green 3.[3]
- "The Amulet of the Heart" quest is the third quest unlocked by the hearts. It asks for the Heart Amulet, which holds your canisters in a Curios slot. A base amulet can hold a total of 40 extra hearts, and Shift while hovering shows how many canisters are inside.[3]
- "A Soul Bound Amulet" quest comes after the amulet and asks for the Soul Amulet. With a Soul Canister inside, it works like a Totem of Undying: the canister is consumed and reverts to a blue heart canister.[3]
- "The Sword of Friendship" quest follows the Soul Amulet and asks for the Vitality Blade. It has its own canister slots, and each canister adds 1 extra damage.[3]
- "Colorful Bullseye" quest is the last in the branch and asks for the Vigor Bow. It also has canister slots, and each canister adds 1 extra damage and Draw Speed.[3]
So the book gives you three routes from the hearts: the patches, the canister and belt route through the apple, and the amulet route that ends in the sword and then the bow.[3]
Which Baubley Heart Canisters config options matter?
4 parts
Good news: Baubley Heart Canisters is almost entirely at its mod defaults in this pack. Only one option was changed, so you won't have to relearn much if you've used the mod elsewhere.[6][7]
The one value the pack changed
General.boneDropRate controls how often Wither Skeletons drop wither bones, a crafting item. This pack sets it to 0.15, down from the mod default of 0.18. The allowed range is 0.0 to 1.0, so bones are a bit rarer here than in the base mod.[1][6]
General drops and stacking
- General.echoShardDropRate is 0.5 (the mod default). It sets how often the Warden drops echo shards.[6]
- General.heartStackSize is 10 (the mod default, allowed range 0 to 99). It is the maximum stack size for heart canisters, and also the maximum number of full hearts you can get per heart canister type.[6]
- General.soulHeartReturnChance is 1 (the mod default). It is the chance that a broken Soul Heart returns a Blue Heart Canister.[6]
Heart patches
The heart patches use the mod defaults too. Cooldowns are in seconds, and heal amounts are in half-hearts, so a heal of 2 is one full heart.[6]
- Red patch: heals 2 ([[config:config/bhc-startup.toml#Heart Patches.redPatchHealAmount]]) with a cooldown of 5 ([[config:config/bhc-startup.toml#Heart Patches.redPatchCooldown]]).[6]
- Yellow patch: heals 6 ([[config:config/bhc-startup.toml#Heart Patches.yellowPatchHealAmount]]) with a cooldown of 10 ([[config:config/bhc-startup.toml#Heart Patches.yellowPatchCooldown]]).[6]
- Green patch: heals 10 ([[config:config/bhc-startup.toml#Heart Patches.greenPatchHealAmount]]) with a cooldown of 20 ([[config:config/bhc-startup.toml#Heart Patches.greenPatchCooldown]]).[6]
- Blue patch: heals 20 ([[config:config/bhc-startup.toml#Heart Patches.bluePatchHealAmount]]) with a cooldown of 30 ([[config:config/bhc-startup.toml#Heart Patches.bluePatchCooldown]]).[6]
Starting health
The mod can change your starting health through its server config, but this pack has Server.allowStartingHealthTweaks set to false. Server.startingHealth is set to 20, which its own comment lists as the default.[1][7]
What changed in Baubley Heart Canisters between versions?
1 part
FTB Skies 2: Aero 1.10.0 ships Baubley Heart Canisters 1.21.1-1.4.1. The mod has been in the pack since 1.0.3 or earlier, so it's a long-standing part of Aero.[2]
1.21.1-1.4.1
- Fixed the Loop Case for other mods that revive the player, with the Draconic / Undying Module given as an example.[9]
That is the version you get in 1.10.0, so this fix is already included in your game.[2][9]
Unverified No pack changelog entries for this mod were available, so any changes the pack itself made to it across releases are unverified.
