What is Apothic Enchanting?
2 parts
Apothic Enchanting is part of the pack at version 1.5.3, and it has been there since version 1.2.0 or earlier. In the pack's quest book it shows up in the "gearing_up" chapter, so it's aimed at you when you're building up your gear. The quests are all about crafting its bookshelf-style blocks (the shelves), its tomes and its libraries.[1][2]
Where it fits in the progression
The quests walk you from simple shelves up to the end-game libraries. Here's the path in order.[2]
- Start with the basic shelves in one quest: Beeshelf, Melonshelf and Stoneshelf (a quest in "?").[2]
- From there the chapter branches into Seashelf (a quest in "?"), Hellshelf (a quest in "?"), Geode-Encased Bookshelf of Stability (a quest in "?") and Tome of Scrapping (a quest in "?").[2]
- The scrapping line continues with Tome of Superior Scrapping (a quest in "?") and then Tome of Extraction (a quest in "?").[2]
- The infused shelves, Infused Seashelf (a quest in "?") and Infused Hellshelf (a quest in "?"), unlock the Enchantment Library (a quest in "?").[2]
- The Deepshelf (a quest in "?") comes after the upgraded sea and hell shelves. It opens up the treasure, soul-touched and echoing variants.[2]
- Infused Dragon's Breath (a quest in "?") leads to the Endshelf (a quest in "?"). The chain ends at the Library of Alexandria (a quest in "?").[2]
Tomes
Alongside the shelves there's a set of equipment-specific tomes, each with its own quest. They include the Tome of the Miners (a quest in "?"), Tome of Weaponry (a quest in "?") and Tome of the Fishers (a quest in "?"). There are also tomes for helmets, chestplates, leggings, boots and bows, plus one for other gear.[2]
Unverified The sources I have don't describe how the shelves and tomes work in detail, so check the in-game item tooltips for exact effects.
How do you get started with Apothic Enchanting?
5 parts
Apothic Enchanting lets enchanting tables go past level 30, and some enchantments only show up past that point. The pack's "gearing_up" quest chapter has quests for most of the mod's items, and the order below follows how those quests connect.[2][3]
Start with the basic shelves
The first quest to look at, a quest in "?", asks for a Stoneshelf, a Beeshelf and a Melonshelf. Here are their in-pack recipes.[2]

Make a Hellshelf and a Seashelf
Next come the Hellshelf quest (a quest in "?") and the Seashelf quest (a quest in "?"). Both unlock after the same earlier quest, so they are two parallel branches and you can do either first.[2]

Infuse them
Each of those shelves has an upgrade quest: a quest in "?" asks for the Infused Hellshelf and a quest in "?" asks for the Infused Seashelf. The mod's own advancements describe getting these "through Infusion Enchanting", and in this pack each one is made by an infusion recipe from its plain shelf.[2][3][4]

Build the Enchantment Library
The Enchantment Library quest (a quest in "?") unlocks once both infused shelf quests are done, so it is a natural first milestone.[2]

Much later in the chapter, the Library of Alexandria quest (a quest in "?") comes after the Draconic Endshelf quest. In this pack the Library of Alexandria is made by an infusion recipe that takes the Enchantment Library as its input.[2][4]

Pick up the tomes
The chapter also has a tome branch. It starts with the Tome of Scrapping, then the Tome of Superior Scrapping, then the Tome of Extraction. Each step is its own quest, and the upgrades are infusion recipes.[2][4]

The tomes for specific gear, such as the Tome of the Miners, Tome of Weaponry and Tome of Helmets, all unlock after a different quest from the scrapping line.[2]
How do you progress through Apothic Enchanting?
5 parts
In this pack, Apothic Enchanting progression follows the gearing_up quest chapter. Each quest asks you to obtain items from the mod, so the chapter works as a checklist. It runs from simple shelves, through infused and deep shelves, up to the Library of Alexandria.[2]
Tier 1: basic shelves and scrapping
- a quest in "?" asks for the Beeshelf, the Melonshelf and the Stoneshelf.[2]
- Four quests unlock after a shared earlier quest: a quest in "?" for the Seashelf, a quest in "?" for the Hellshelf, a quest in "?" for the Geode-Encased Bookshelf of Stability and a quest in "?" for the Tome of Scrapping.[2]

The Seashelf and the Hellshelf matter here because the Infused Seashelf and the Infused Hellshelf, which the next stage asks for, are each made by infusing one of them.[2][4]
Tomes
Nine tome quests all unlock after the same earlier quest: Tome of the Miners, Tome of Chestplates, Tome of Legplates, Tome of the Others, Tome of Weaponry, Tome of the Archers, Tome of Boots, Tome of Helmets and Tome of the Fishers.[2]

The scrapping line is a short chain. a quest in "?" asks for the Tome of Superior Scrapping after the Tome of Scrapping, and a quest in "?" finishes with the Tome of Extraction. Both upgrades use infusion recipes.[2][4]

Tier 2: infused shelves and the library
a quest in "?" wants the Infused Hellshelf and a quest in "?" wants the Infused Seashelf. Both come from infusion recipes that upgrade the shelf you already have.[2][4]

The infused shelves also open several side branches:[2]
- a quest in "?" asks for the Hellshelf of Sight, followed by a quest in "?" for the Hellshelf of Masterful Sight.[2]
- a quest in "?" asks for the Blazing Hellshelf and the Glowing Hellshelf.[2]
- a quest in "?" asks for the Crystalline Seashelf and the Heart-Forged Seashelf.[2]
- a quest in "?" asks for the Seashelf of Aquatic Filtration.[2]

Tier 3: deepshelves
a quest in "?" asks for the Deepshelf. It unlocks after both the sea branch and the hell branch above. The Deepshelf comes from infusing a Dormant Deepshelf, which is crafted separately.[2][4]

Three quests branch from the Deepshelf: a quest in "?" for the Deepshelf of Arcane Treasures, a quest in "?" for the Soul-Touched Deepshelf and a quest in "?" for the Echoing Deepshelf. The last two lead on to a quest in "?" (Soul-Touched Sculkshelf) and a quest in "?" (Echoing Sculkshelf). The sculkshelf recipes use a Warden Tendril.[2][4]

Tier 4: the End shelves
a quest in "?" unlocks only after both sculkshelf quests. It asks for Infused Dragon's Breath, which is made by infusion. After that, a quest in "?" asks for the Endshelf. Two quests then follow it: a quest in "?" for the Draconic Endshelf and a quest in "?" for the Pearlescent Endshelf.[2][4]

How does Apothic Enchanting work with other mods?
2 parts
In this pack, the recipes that connect Apothic Enchanting with other mods are two: one crafting recipe that the pack changed, and one that the pack added. Both use items you meet while climbing the enchanting shelf tree.[2][4]
Gate Pearl (Apotheosis and Gateways)
The Gate Pearl is made in a normal crafting grid, and the pack has changed this recipe. In it, the Apotheosis items Gem Dust, apotheosis:mythic_material and Sigil of Malice sit alongside this mod's Infused Dragon's Breath and Warden Tendril. The recipe below shows the exact in-pack layout.[4]

The quest book already has a task for the Infused Dragon's Breath. It is quest a quest in "?" in the gearing_up chapter, which comes after quests a quest in "?" (Echoing Sculkshelf) and a quest in "?" (Soul-Touched Sculkshelf).[2]
Dimensional Memory Fragment (Pressure Chamber)
The pack adds a Pressure Chamber recipe that makes the Dimensional Memory Fragment. This mod's contribution is the Library of Alexandria (Library of Alexandria). Other mods supply items such as Grains of Prescience, Dimensional Crystal Matrix and Component Enhanced Galgadorian Metal. The recipe below shows the exact in-pack inputs.[4]

4× Grains of Prescience
Dimensional Crystal Matrix
16× Component Enhanced Galgadorian Metal

This recipe is added by the pack and runs in a Pressure Chamber.
The Library of Alexandria is the last step of this mod's shelf chain in the gearing_up chapter. Quest a quest in "?" asks for it after quest a quest in "?" (Draconic Endshelf), so following the enchanting quest line leads you to this ingredient.[2]
Which FTB Skies 2 quests use Apothic Enchanting?
4 parts
Every quest for this mod sits in a single chapter, gearing_up. None of these quests has a title in the pack files, so they're identified by ID below. Each one asks for a single item, or a pair or trio of items. The chapter works as a tech tree that walks you from basic shelves up to the End shelves and the Library of Alexandria.[2]
Starting shelves
a quest in "?" is the opener. It asks for the Beeshelf, the Melonshelf and the Stoneshelf. No prerequisite is listed for it.[2]
Four more quests branch off an earlier quest that isn't part of this mod's set: a quest in "?" (the Seashelf), a quest in "?" (the Hellshelf), a quest in "?" (the Geode-Encased Bookshelf of Stability) and a quest in "?" (the Tome of Scrapping).[2]
The tome quests
Nine tome quests unlock after another quest outside this mod's set. Each asks for one tome:[2]
- a quest in "?": Tome of the Miners[2]
- a quest in "?": Tome of Chestplates[2]
- a quest in "?": Tome of Legplates[2]
- a quest in "?": Tome of the Others[2]
- a quest in "?": Tome of Weaponry[2]
- a quest in "?": Tome of the Archers[2]
- a quest in "?": Tome of Boots[2]
- a quest in "?": Tome of Helmets[2]
- a quest in "?": Tome of the Fishers[2]
The scrapping line continues from the scrap tome quest. a quest in "?" asks for the Tome of Superior Scrapping, and a quest in "?" then asks for the Tome of Extraction.[2]
Seashelf and hellshelf lines
- a quest in "?" follows the Seashelf quest and asks for the Infused Seashelf.[2]
- a quest in "?" asks for the Crystalline Seashelf and the Heart-Forged Seashelf. a quest in "?" asks for the Seashelf of Aquatic Filtration. Both follow the Infused Seashelf quest.[2]
- a quest in "?" follows the Hellshelf quest and asks for the Infused Hellshelf.[2]
- a quest in "?" asks for the Blazing Hellshelf and the Glowing Hellshelf. a quest in "?" asks for the Hellshelf of Sight, and a quest in "?" then asks for the Hellshelf of Masterful Sight.[2]
- a quest in "?" asks for the Enchantment Library. It needs both the Infused Seashelf and Infused Hellshelf quests done first.[2]
Deepshelves and the End
- a quest in "?" asks for the Deepshelf. It opens once both the Crystalline/Heart-Forged Seashelf quest and the Blazing/Glowing Hellshelf quest are done.[2]
- Three quests follow the Deepshelf: a quest in "?" (Deepshelf of Arcane Treasures), a quest in "?" (Soul-Touched Deepshelf) and a quest in "?" (Echoing Deepshelf).[2]
- a quest in "?" asks for the Soul-Touched Sculkshelf after the Soul-Touched Deepshelf. a quest in "?" asks for the Echoing Sculkshelf after the Echoing Deepshelf.[2]
- a quest in "?" asks for the Infused Dragon's Breath and needs both sculkshelf quests done.[2]
- a quest in "?" asks for the Endshelf.[2]
- a quest in "?" asks for the Draconic Endshelf, and a quest in "?" asks for the Pearlescent Endshelf. Both follow the Endshelf quest.[2]
- a quest in "?" is the last quest. It asks for the Library of Alexandria after the Draconic Endshelf quest.[2]
Unverified The quest files don't say what the parent quests outside this mod's set ask for, or whether any quest gives rewards. Check those in the in-game quest book.
