What is Just Dyna Things?
2 parts
Just Dyna Things is an addon for JustDireThings that adds a pile of new blocks and items. This pack ships Just Dyna Things 2.0-alpha-build-12, so some things may still be rough around the edges.[1][2]
What it adds
- More anvils that repair gear without spending experience. The Ferricore Anvil uses catalysts, the Blazegold Anvil uses high temperature fluids, and the Celestigem Anvil uses Forge Energy. The Eclipse Alloy Anvil also uses Forge Energy, and adding a coolant changes how it repairs.[3][4][5][6][7]
- Solar panels that make Forge Energy from ambient conditions: Ferricore, BlazeGold, Celestigem and Eclipse Alloy. Their default max rates are 240, 960, 3,840 and 11,520 FE. The in-game guide notes that everything can be changed in configs, so treat these as mod defaults, not confirmed pack values.[8][9][10][11][12]
- New goo tiers, including Energized goos that need Forge Energy to stay alive, plus a Stabilizer that can revive a goo on top of it.[13][14][15]
- Echoing Buddings, a new way to farm budding resources. They need Time Fluid and Energy to grow clusters.[16]
- A set of wands: light, time, picker, swapper and a Temporal Stupefy wand.[17][18][19][20][21][22][23]
- Utility blocks such as the BlackHole (a universal trash can), the Ferricore Clock (a configurable redstone clock), the Paradox Mixer, the Phase Box, the Reforger, the Ticker and the Thermo Generator.[24][25][26][27][28][29][30][31]
Where it sits in the quest book
Unverified The sources here do not show a quest book chapter, group or position for this mod, nor whether the ATM Star path uses it. Check the pack's quest book in game if you want to know.
How do you get started with Just Dyna Things?
4 parts
Just Dyna Things is an addon for Just Dire Things, so it adds new machines, wands and generators on top of what you already know. The pack's quest book has no quests for this mod, so there is no set path through it. This is my suggested order, based on what each item does.[2]
Start with the Ticker
Make the justdynathings:ticker first. It uses Time Fluid and Energy to speed up the block in its highlighted face, and the in-game guide gives a default speed of 16x. In this pack it uses 10 FE/t and 1 mB/t, and stores up to 10,000 FE and 1,000 mB.[31][32]
This pack changed one value here: entry_blocks.ticker_max_tick_limit is 2,048, while the mod default is 1,200.[32]

Then the Stabilizer
Next, make the Stabilizer. It revives any goo on top of it using Forge Energy, and it can also keep a Paradox Mixer alive when it is energized with Time Fluid. A Paradox Mixer is an unstable block that mass-crafts fluid drop recipes and needs at least one energized Stabilizer to stay alive. In this pack the Stabilizer uses 1,000 FE/t and 10 mB/t, and stores up to 10,000 FE and 1,000 mB.[15][27][32]

Power and repairs
The Ticker and the Stabilizer both eat Forge Energy, so you will want generation. The weakest solar panel is the Ferricore Solar Panel. It makes up to 240 FE/t, and it only works in the Overworld, with a view of the sky, during the day. This pack leaves its values at the mod defaults, including the sky and daytime conditions. The BlazeGold, Celestigem and Eclipse Alloy panels follow in that order, at 960, 3,840 and 11,520 FE/t.[9][10][11][12][32]
The mod also adds anvils that repair items without Experience. The Ferricore Anvil is the first one and repairs tools using catalysts.[3][7]

How does Just Dyna Things work?
7 parts
Just Dyna Things is an addon for Just Dire Things, so most of its machines plug into systems you may already know: goo, fluids, Forge Energy (FE) and wands. Nothing here is a big multiblock. Everything is a single block or a handheld item that runs on FE, a fluid, or both. Here is how each system works in this pack.[2]
Anvils: repairing without XP
The mod adds anvils that repair items without spending experience. Each one uses a different fuel, so you pick the one that matches the infrastructure you already have.[3][4][5][6][7]
- Ferricore Anvil repairs tools using catalyst items. It needs no power or fluid.[7]
- Blazegold Anvil repairs items using high temperature fluids. Its tank holds 10,000 mB.[4][32]
- Celestigem Anvil repairs items using FE. In this pack it draws 100 FE/t and stores 10,000 FE.[5][32]
- Eclipse Alloy Anvil repairs using FE as well. When you add a coolant, it repairs coolant-efficiency / 100 x total-damage. Its tank holds 10,000 mB.[6][32]
By default the anvils keep a tick delay between durability applications. The entry_anvils.ferricore_anvil_ignore_delay style options (one per anvil) are all false in this pack. You can also silence every anvil at once with entry_anvils.anvil_emit_sound. The Blazegold Anvil's deny tag lists the mace.[32][34]
Ticker: speeding up a block
The justdynathings:ticker uses Time Fluid and energy to speed up the block on its highlighted face, by 16x by default. In this pack it uses 10 FE/t and 1 mB/t, with room for 10,000 FE and 1,000 mB.[31][32]
The pack changed one value here: entry_blocks.ticker_max_tick_limit is 2,048, while the mod default is 1200.[32]
Unverified Which blocks the Ticker refuses to speed up is decided by the ticker_deny block tag in the mod's data files, and which entities the Light Wand ignores by its light_wand_deny entity tag. The sources here do not show what either tag contains.
Goo, the Stabilizer and the Paradox Mixer
The mod adds energized goo that needs FE to stay alive. The tiers are Primogel (1), Blazebloom (2), VoidShimmer (3) and ShadowPulse (4). The Energized Goo guide page lists a generic Energized Goo at tier 5. The charged goos sit in the same block tags as the matching Just Dire Things goo tier, so they count as that tier.[14][35][36][37][38][39][40][41][42]
By default each goo pulls 100 FE/t from a 10,000 FE buffer. Tier changes both its capacity and its FE cost, and both of those options are on in this pack.[32]
The Stabilizer revives any goo on top of it using FE. In this pack it uses 1,000 FE/t and 10 mB/t, and stores 10,000 FE and 1,000 mB.[15][32]
Creative Goo is a simple goo that cannot die, and any wrench toggles it. Its tier is MAX, which is 2,147,483,647 in the config. The pack removes the Creative Goo's normal crafting recipe.[32][43][44]
The Stabilizer also keeps a Paradox Mixer alive. The Paradox Mixer is an unstable block that mass-crafts fluid drop recipes, and it needs at least one energized Stabilizer to stay alive. You energize the Stabilizer with Time Fluid for this job.[15][27]
An example of a fluid drop recipe in this pack: Portal Fluid becomes Instability.
Solar panels
The four solar panels generate FE from their surroundings. Each has its own default conditions, and each panel's guide page notes that everything can be modified via configs. These are the values this pack uses.[8][9][10][11][12][32]
- Ferricore Solar Panel: 240 FE/t. It needs the Overworld, a view of the sky and daytime. It stores 100,000 FE.[12][32]
- Blazegold Solar Panel: 960 FE/t. It is limited to the Nether and has no sky or daytime requirement. It stores 100,000 FE.[9][32][45]
- Celestigem Solar Panel: 3,840 FE/t. It needs a view of the sky, and its output drops when placed alone, so more panels nearby produce more. It stores 1,000,000 FE.[10][32]
- Eclipse Alloy Solar Panel: 11,520 FE/t. High and low Y levels raise the multiplier and middle Y levels lower it. Placing it alone also reduces output. It stores 1,000,000 FE.[11][32]
Thermo Generator
The Thermo Generator makes FE from heat source blocks and a fluid coolant. The guide gives the formulas: FE gen = 125 x CoolantEfficiency x HeatEfficiency, and MB cost = 125 / CoolantEfficiency. It notes the formulas may be simplified in the future.[30]
Wands
The Light Wand places and breaks light blocks and can apply Glowing to the entity you look at. It uses durability. The Advanced Light Wand works the same but consumes FE on every use. In this pack the Light Wand uses 100 FE/t from a 10,000 FE buffer, and the Glowing duration is 200 (20 counts as 1 second). The Advanced version is set to 800.[18][20][32][46]
The Advanced Time Wand is an upgraded Time Wand with more capacity and modes. In this pack it holds 10,000,000 FE and 800,000 mB, and the max multiplier is 256. The default modes are:[19][32]
- Normal: works like a regular Time Wand.[19]
- Speed 2x: the click action works at 2x, stepping 4, 16, 64, 256.[19]
- Speed 4x: the click action works at 4x, stepping 16, 256.[19]
- Max Speed: the click action works at 8x, so it will be 256x every time.[19]
The modes use the values 1, 2, 4 and 8 in the config. If you lower the max multiplier below 256, it can disable the other modes. The wand also respects the Just Dire Things tick speed deny tag.[32][47]
The Picker Wand picks up a block so you can place it where you want. The Swapper Wand swaps a block with another without removing it from the world. Both refuse bedrock, end portal frames, beds, doors and portals. Fake players can use the Light Wand and the Advanced Time Wand here, but not the Picker or Swapper.[21][23][32][48][49]
Utility blocks
- Blackhole is a universal trash can that can be turned off to store huge amounts of energy or fluid in a small space. In this pack it holds 2,147,483,647 FE and mB, and keeps its contents when redstone disables it.[25][32]
- Ferricore Clock is a redstone clock you can program per side with a specific gametick, so you can disable the sides that would power things you do not want. In this pack no wrench is needed to change a face state.[26][32]
- Phase Box is a block you toggle between solid and not solid. Like the clock, it needs no wrench in this pack. It gets connected textures if Fusion is installed.[28][32]
- The Reforger converts an input block placed on its red face into an output block, at the cost of a catalyst.[29]
- Echoing Buddings grow clusters using Time Fluid and energy. The guide lists 100mb/wk and 100fe/wk.[16]

How do you progress through Just Dyna Things?
4 parts
Just Dyna Things is an addon for Just Dire Things, and its content climbs in tiers rather than in one straight line. You get a line of solar panels, a line of repair anvils, a goo tier ladder and a pair of wand upgrades. Below I go through each ladder from lowest tier to highest, using the order the mod's in-game guide gives.[2][3][8][13][18][19]
Solar panels
The solar panels generate Forge Energy based on their surroundings. Each tier has a different max FE rate and different conditions. The numbers below are the mod's defaults as the in-game guide lists them.[8][9][10][11][12]
- Ferricore Solar Panel (first in the guide): default max rate of 240 FE. Default conditions: Overworld, sky visible, daytime.[12]
- BlazeGold Solar Panel: default max rate of 960 FE. Default condition: Nether.[9]
- Celestigem Solar Panel: default max rate of 3,840 FE. Default conditions: sky visible, and the more solar panels sit near each other, the more each one produces.[10]
- Eclipse Alloy Solar Panel: default max rate of 11,520 FE. Default conditions: nearby panels boost output, and high or low Y-levels raise the multiplier while middle Y-levels lower it.[11]
Unverified Which biomes each solar panel is allowed in is set by biome tag data files in the mod's solar_panels folder. The sources here do not show most of those files, so check them in game before you plan a panel farm.
Anvils
The anvils repair items without using experience. The tiers differ in what they consume to do the repair.[3]
- Ferricore Anvil: repairs tools using catalysts.[7]
- Blazegold Anvil: repairs items using high temperature fluids.[4]
- Celestigem Anvil: repairs items using Forge Energy.[5]
- Eclipse Alloy Anvil: repairs using Forge Energy too, and when you add a coolant it repairs based on coolant efficiency divided by 100, times the total damage.[6]

Goo tiers
The mod adds energy versions of the goo that run on Forge Energy instead of dying off. Each one has a tier level in the guide, and the guide marks the energy versions as mainly made for content creators.[13][35][36][37][38]
- Energized Primogel Goo: tier 1.[35]
- Energized Blazebloom Goo: tier 2.[36]
- Energized VoidShimmer Goo: tier 3.[37]
- Energized ShadowPulse Goo: tier 4.[38]
- Energized Goo: tier 5, and it needs Forge Energy to stay alive.[14]
- Creative Goo: tier MAX, a goo that cannot die and can be toggled with any wrench.[43]

How does Just Dyna Things work with other mods?
4 parts
Just Dyna Things is an addon for Just Dire Things, so most of its links to other mods run straight into Just Dire Things. The pack's quest book has nothing to say about these links, so everything below comes from recipes and the mod's own data files.[2]
The one cross-mod recipe
The only in-pack recipe that ties the two mods together is a Just Dire Things fluid drop recipe: Portal Fluid turns into Instability. It is a plain mod recipe, so the pack has not changed it.[33]
A fluid drop recipe from Just Dire Things that makes Instability.
The Paradox Mixer from Just Dyna Things is built to mass-craft fluid drop recipes, so it is the machine to look at once you start working with this kind of recipe.[27][33]
Goo, time and buddings
The goo tiers are shared between the two mods. Each tier tag groups a Just Dire Things goo block with its charged version from Just Dyna Things, so they are treated as the same tier: primogel with the first tier, blazebloom with the second, voidshimmer with the third and shadowpulse with the fourth.[39][40][41][42]
Time tools are shared too. The Advanced Time Wand and the Just Dire Things Time Wand sit in the same wand tag, and the time crystal block and time crystal budding block from Just Dire Things are tagged as time buddings.[50][51]
The Echoing Buddings guide says its buddings need Time Fluid and energy to grow clusters. Its base support is Minecraft and Just Dire Things, and the mod's guide also lists support for Applied Energistics 2, Extended AE, Phasorite Networks and any GeOre budding.[16]
Blocks that Just Dire Things refuses to speed up are also off limits for this mod's Ticker and Advanced Time Wand, because both deny tags pull in the Just Dire Things tick speed deny list when it exists.[47][52]
Wrenches, tools and block lists
- The Just Dire Things Ferricore Wrench and Machine Settings Copier are in this mod's interactive item tag, along with buckets.[53]
- Creative Goo can be toggled with any wrench, and the universal wrench tag accepts wrenches from other mods through the common wrench tags.[43][54][55]
- The Swapper deny list from Just Dire Things is added to this mod's own Swapper and Picker block deny lists, when it is present.[48][49]
- The unified coals tag counts Just Dire Things charcoal blocks alongside vanilla coal blocks.[56]
- The Phase Box guide says it can use connected textures when Fusion is installed.[28]
Solar panels and extra dimensions
Two solar panel biome tags have optional entries for the mining and void dimension mods. The BlazeGold panel allows Nether biomes plus the jamd:nether biome, and the Ferricore panel allows Overworld and void biomes plus jamd:mining and javd:void. See Just Another Mining Dimension and Just Another Void Dimension for those dimensions.[45][57]
Which Just Dyna Things config options matter?
3 parts
Most of the Just Dyna Things configs in this pack are left at the mod default. Here are the ones you are most likely to care about, and exactly how the pack sets them.[32][58]
The one value the pack changed
The server config sets entry_blocks.ticker_max_tick_limit to 2048, and it is flagged as changed by the pack from a mod default of 1200. The common config also sets entry_blocks.ticker_max_tick_limit to 2048, but it lists 2048 as its default. The other values in both files that carry a mod default are listed at that default.[32][58]
The ticker's other settings stay at their defaults: entry_blocks.ticker_energy_every_tick is 10 FE/t and entry_blocks.ticker_fluid_every_tick is 1 mB/t.[32]
Solar panels
Each solar panel tier has its own conditions. The FE/t output and capacity of every tier match the mod default. The panels differ in what they require:[32][58]
- Ferricore: 240 FE/t with 100,000 FE of storage. entry_solar_panels.ferricore_solar_panel_require_dayTime and entry_solar_panels.ferricore_solar_panel_require_to_see_sky are both true, so it needs daylight and an open sky.[32][58]
- Blazegold: 960 FE/t with 100,000 FE of storage. It requires neither daytime nor a view of the sky, and neither the Y-level reduction nor the placed-alone reduction is on.[32][58]
- Celestigem: 3,840 FE/t with 1,000,000 FE of storage. It needs to see the sky and has the placed-alone reduction on, but no daytime requirement and no Y-level reduction.[32][58]
- Eclipse alloy: 11,520 FE/t with 1,000,000 FE of storage. It needs neither daytime nor sky, but both entry_solar_panels.eclipse_alloy_solar_panel_reduce_production_at_y_level and entry_solar_panels.eclipse_alloy_solar_panel_reduce_production_when_placed_alone are true, so placement matters.[32][58]
Wands and automation
Fake player support differs by wand. The Light Wand and the Advanced Time Wand allow fake players, while the Picker Wand and the Swapper Wand do not. That matters if you want to drive them from automation.[32][58]
The Advanced Time Wand has entry_wands.advanced_time_wand_max_multiplier set to 256, with its modes set to 1, 2, 4 and 8. The config notes that going below 256 can disable the other wand modes. The glowing duration is 200 for the Light Wand and 800 for the advanced version, where 20 equals one second.[32][58]
Both entry_blocks.ferricore_clock_require_wrench and entry_blocks.phase_box_require_wrench are false, so you do not need a wrench to change the state of the Ferricore Clock or the Phase Box.[32][58]
