What is FancyMenu?
4 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
FancyMenu is a menu customization mod. It lets you restyle Minecraft's menus, from a simple, modern look to animated or dynamic elements. This pack includes version 3.9.12, built for NeoForge on Minecraft 1.21.1, and it has been in the pack since 4.11 or earlier.[1][2]
What it does
- Visual customization: you change how Minecraft's menus look and build your own interface style.[1]
- Built-in editor: you tweak layouts right in the game, and it is meant to work for beginners and experienced users alike.[1]
- Animated images: GIF and APNG formats are supported, so your menus can move.[1]
- Dynamic designs: advanced users can use conditional statements (called loading requirements), variables and placeholders.[1]
Who it is for
This one is for players who want to personalize the look of their game, not for gameplay progression. It works as a pure client-side mod, so you don't need it on a server for your own menus to change. If you run a server, you can optionally install it there too, which lets admins remotely open GUIs for players who have FancyMenu on their client.[1]
If you're new to it, the official documentation walks you through everything from the basics to advanced customization. The community also shares full FancyMenu setups as layout templates, which is a handy way to get a finished look without building it all yourself.[1]
Addons and compatibility
FancyMenu has addons. Drippy Loading Screen customizes the game's loading screen, and SpiffyHUD customizes the in-game HUD, such as the hotbar. Fancy Entity Renderer is an optional dependency that is needed to display player entities in menus.[1]
Unverified The sources I have don't confirm whether any of these addons are installed in this pack, so check your own mod list before relying on them.
Where it fits in the pack
Unverified The sources give no recipes, items, config options or quests for this mod in this pack, and they don't place it on the ATM Star path. Treat it as an optional interface tool that doesn't affect your progression.
How do you get started with FancyMenu?
2 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
FancyMenu is a little different from most mods you'll meet in this pack. It doesn't add blocks, machines or gear. It's a menu customization mod that lets you restyle Minecraft's menus, from a simple, modern look to animated or dynamic elements.[1]
So there's no first item to craft and no progression to follow. The sources I have list no recipes and no items for this mod, so I won't point you to a recipe block here.[1]
Unverified Whether this pack ships any FancyMenu quests, crafting recipes or custom menu layouts is not confirmed by the available sources.
What to do first
- Remember that FancyMenu works as a pure client-side mod. Your customization happens on your own client, with no server install needed.[1]
- Open the built-in editor. It's designed so beginners and experienced users alike can tweak layouts and customize menus.[1]
- Start with simple visual changes. Once you're comfortable, you can move on to animated images (GIF and APNG are supported) and dynamic designs built with conditional statements (loading requirements), variables and placeholders.[1]
- Explore the actions you can attach to your menus. For example, one action closes the active screen, and another opens the last screen that was open before the current one.[3]
Good to know
- FancyMenu can optionally be installed server-side too. That lets admins remotely open GUIs for players who have FancyMenu installed client-side.[1]
- If you hit crashes or other issues, the project page recommends checking FancyMenu's incompatibility list for mod conflicts.[1]
- Some actions can touch files, such as copying, creating or deleting them. They are limited to the game directory for safety reasons.[3]
How does FancyMenu work?
4 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
FancyMenu doesn't add machines, multiblocks, power, fluids or item automation. It's a client-side menu customization mod with a built-in editor, so the sources describe no crafting or processing systems to cover. What it does have are mechanics for how menus, layouts and actions behave, and those are what this section covers.[1]
Layouts, requirements and where it runs
You build menus in the built-in editor. For more dynamic setups you can use conditional statements (called loading requirements), variables and placeholders. It works as a pure client-side mod. If you also install it server-side, admins can remotely open GUIs for players who have it on their client.[1]
Actions: how they behave
Buttons and scripts run actions, and a few of them have behavior worth knowing before you build anything. The Delay Gate and Execute Later blocks work quite differently from each other.[3]
- Delay Gate: the first time the script reaches it, it starts a one-time timer and skips its contained actions. Nothing is scheduled. The timer is only checked when the script reaches the same block again. The first reach at or after expiry opens the gate, and every later reach runs the actions immediately. The delay is in milliseconds, and a delay of 0 or less (including invalid values) opens the gate immediately. The gate resets only when that action script is reconstructed or replaced.[3]
- Execute Later: every time the script reaches this block, it schedules a new execution of its contained actions on the main thread after the delay (in milliseconds). Use it when every reach should schedule a fresh delayed run, for example in scripts that only run once.[3]
- Audio element actions: you can skip to the next or previous track, toggle play and pause, or set an Audio element's volume by its identifier. The volume is a value between 0.0 and 1.0.[3]
- Mimic Button: this clicks a vanilla or mod button for you, using that button's widget locator. You get the locator by right-clicking the button in the editor, or by enabling the Debug Overlay outside the editor and right-clicking the button there.[3]
- Execute Command as Integrated Server: this runs a command in singleplayer, ignoring permissions and the cheats setting. It does nothing on multiplayer or when the world is opened to LAN.[3]
File actions and their limits
The copy, move, create, delete and download actions only work inside the game directory, which starts at the root of the Minecraft instance directory. This is a safety limit. You can also reach the default .minecraft directory by starting a path with the .minecraft/ prefix.[3]
For copy, move and delete you can append * to a path to handle every file directly inside that folder. The wildcard ignores sub-directories. Copy and move require the destination to be a directory, and delete leaves the folder itself intact.[3]
Downloads and ZIP extraction both run asynchronously, so the game keeps running while they work. For downloads, you give a folder instead of a file name, and FancyMenu takes the name from the HTTP response headers or the URL. Extraction triggers the On ZIP Extracted via Action listener when it finishes.[3]
What this pack sets
The pack ships a few FancyMenu config files. In org.embeddedt.embeddium.impl.gui.EmbeddiumVideoOptionsScreen the pack sets the Embeddium video options screen to false. The sources don't explain what the setting does, so I won't guess.[4]
The editor UI themes are also set by the pack files. The dark theme uses #3C3F41FF for screen_background_color.hex, and the light theme uses #B2B2B2FF for screen_background_color.hex. These only affect how the editor looks, not how menus work.[5][6]
How do you progress through FancyMenu?
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
FancyMenu doesn't have a tier ladder to climb in this pack. The only material the sources give for it is its in-game guide, and that is a credits page rather than a progression guide. It names Keksuccino as lead developer and also lists Patreon supporters and alpha and beta testers.[7]
The same page says FancyMenu is copyright 2020-2026 Keksuccino and licensed under DSMSLv3. It also credits the default skin and items of its Buddy helper to masocarai, and Buddy's default GUI to Kumo.[7]
Unverified Whether the pack's quest book mentions FancyMenu, and whether it is unlocked or limited through any recipe, is not shown by the sources here. The quest chapters and recipe lists are where that would be told, so check them in-game if you want to be sure.
Which FancyMenu config options matter?
2 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
FancyMenu is mostly something you set up through its built-in editor, so the config values this pack sets are few. Here is what the pack actually ships.[1][4][5][6]
Normalized scroll screens
The normalized scroll screens file has one entry: org.embeddedt.embeddium.impl.gui.EmbeddiumVideoOptionsScreen is set to false in this pack.[4]
UI themes
The pack ships a dark theme and a light theme for FancyMenu's interface. They are identified by identifier (set to dark) and identifier (set to light). The sources here only show the pack's values, not the mod defaults, so these are simply what the pack uses.[5][6]
- Dark theme: screen_background_color.hex is #3C3F41FF, and element_background_color_hover.hex is #539CD4FF.[5]
- Light theme: screen_background_color.hex is #B2B2B2FF, and element_background_color_hover.hex is #AFAFAFFF.[6]
- Text colors differ too. Dark uses #FFFFFFFF for generic_text_base_color.hex, while light uses #252525FF for generic_text_base_color.hex.[5][6]
- The layout editor element border color is the same in both themes: layout_editor_element_border_color_normal.hex and layout_editor_element_border_color_normal.hex are both #0394FCFF.[5][6]
What changed in FancyMenu between versions?
All the Mods 11 0.8.0-beta ships FancyMenu 3.9.12. The mod has been in the pack since All the Mods 11 0.0.1 or earlier, so it is not a recent addition.[8]
The mod has its own changelog for 3.9.12, and it also has entries for 3.9.10, 3.9.9, 3.9.8, 3.9.7, 3.9.1, 3.9.0 and 3.8.6.[9][10][11][12][13][14][15][16]
Unverified The changelog sources I was given only point to the mod's changelog file and don't include the entries themselves. I can't say what changed in any FancyMenu version, and the pack changelogs have no entries for this mod, so I can't confirm any pack-specific changes either.
