What is RFTools Power?
2 parts
RFTools Power is an addon for the RFTools family that adds ways to generate and store power. If you want a straightforward set of generators plus some serious storage, this is the mod for you. Note that it requires RFTools Base to work.[1]
The pack includes version 1.21-7.0.3 of the mod, and it has been part of the pack since version 2.2 or earlier.[2]
What it adds
- A simple generator that runs on coal or charcoal. This is the Coal Generator.[1]
- A generator powered by blaze rods.[1]
- An endergenic generator powered by ender pearls.[1]
- A dimensional powercell that can store and transfer power across great distances, even between dimensions.[1]
- A multiblock power storage setup for when you need to hold a lot more power.[1]
Where it fits in the pack
You will meet this mod early, in the basic_power quest chapter. One quest asks you to get a coal generator, and it accepts the Coal Generator or the equivalent coal or tier 1 generators from two other mods. That means you can pick whichever one you like and still tick the quest off.[3]
Another quest in the same chapter asks for a powercell, and any of the three tiers counts: Powercell (Low), Powercell (Medium) or Powercell (High). The quests are a quest in "?" for the generator and a quest in "?" for the powercell.[3]
Unverified The sources do not show this mod on the ATM Star path, and no in-jar guidebook was found, so how it ranks against other power options later in the pack is unconfirmed.
How do you get started with RFTools Power?
4 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
RFTools Power is an addon for the RFTools mods that adds power generation and power storage. It needs RFTools Base, which is also where the Machine Frame and other core parts come from. In this pack the sensible order is to generate power first, then store it, then move on to the fancier generators.[1]
Step 1: a Coal Generator
Start with the Coal Generator. The pack's quest book calls coal generators some of the easiest generators to make. They are simple to use, they give a decent amount of power based on the combustible material you feed them, and they automatically pass power to adjacent blocks. The mod's own description says it runs on coal or charcoal. The pack leaves this recipe as the mod's default.[1][4][5]

| any coal | any coal |

The quest a quest in "?" accepts this generator, but also the Actually Additions and Just Dire Things coal generators, so you can pick whichever suits you.[4]
Step 2: a Powercell
Once you are producing power, you need somewhere to put it. The Powercell (Low) is the first storage block. The quest a quest in "?" describes powercells as multi-block storage units that you can customize and upgrade. Bring a Wrench, because you use it to set the inputs and outputs for power.[4]
The pack changed the Powercell (Low) recipe, and it also changed the recipe for its key part, the Power Core (Low). Don't rely on what you remember from other modpacks. Craft the core first, then the cell:[5]

Step 3: upgrade your storage
You don't build the bigger cells from scratch: each one upgrades the cell below it. The Powercell (Medium) and Powercell (High) recipes are the mod's defaults, but the pack changed the recipes for the Power Core (Medium) and Power Core (High) they rely on. Each cell comes right after its core below.[5]

Where to go next
When the coal generator can't keep up, the mod has two more generators: the Blazing Generator and the Endergenic. It also adds the Dimensional Cell, which can store and transfer power over great distances and across dimensions. The pack changed the recipes for all three, so check them before you gather materials.[1][5]

How does RFTools Power work?
5 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
RFTools Power is an addon for the RFTools mods, and it needs RFTools Base to work. The sources for this pack only describe it at a high level, so this section covers what the mod offers and how the pack changes its crafting. It doesn't go deep into numbers.[1]
Power generation
There are three generators, each with its own fuel.[1][5]
- Coal Generator: the simple option, which runs on coal or charcoal.[1][5]
- Blazing Generator: runs on blaze rods.[1][5]
- Endergenic: runs on ender pearls.[1][5]
The pack has changed the Blazing Generator and Endergenic recipes, so don't rely on a recipe you remember from the default mod. The Coal Generator recipe is the mod's own.[5]

Power storage
The mod has two storage systems. The dimensional powercell stores power and can transfer it across great distances, including between dimensions. There is also a multiblock power storage system for holding a lot of power.[1][5]
The dimensional cell comes in three versions: Dimensional Cell (Simple), Dimensional Cell and Dimensional Cell (Advanced). The pack has changed the recipes for all three.[5]

Powercells and Power Cores
There are three Powercell tiers: Powercell (Low), Powercell (Medium) and Powercell (High). They use matching Power Cores (Power Core (Low), Power Core (Medium) and Power Core (High)). The pack has changed the recipes for the Low cell and all three cores. The Medium and High cells keep the mod's own recipes.[5]

How do you progress through RFTools Power?
6 parts
In this pack, RFTools Power is tracked by two quests in the basic_power chapter. The rest of the path comes from the in-pack recipes, and most of them were changed by the pack.[3][6]
What the quest book covers
- Quest a quest in "?" is the coal generator quest. It accepts Coal Generator, the Actually Additions coal generator or the Just Dire Things generator. It unlocks after a prerequisite quest in the same chapter.[3]
- Quest a quest in "?" is the Powercell quest. It accepts any of Powercell (Low), Powercell (Medium) or Powercell (High), so the Low cell is enough to finish it. It also follows a prerequisite quest in the chapter.[3]
Coal Generator
The Coal Generator uses the mod's own recipe. The pack has not changed it.[6]

Powercells: Low, Medium, High
The Powercell line has three tiers: Powercell (Low), Powercell (Medium) and Powercell (High). The matching core items are Power Core (Low), Power Core (Medium) and Power Core (High). The pack changed the Low cell recipe and all three core recipes.[6]
The Medium and High cell recipes are the mod's own, and each one takes the cell of the tier below it. So you craft the Low cell first and upgrade it step by step.[6]

How does RFTools Power work with other mods?
4 parts
RFTools Power is an addon, so its tightest link is with RFTools Base. The mod needs RFTools Base to run, and most of its machines are built from RFTools Base parts such as the Machine Frame and Machine Base.[1][6]
RFTools Base parts in the recipes
- The Machine Frame is the core of the generators and several storage blocks, including the Coal Generator, Blazing Generator, Endergenic, Pearl Injector and Powercell (Low).[6]
- The lighter monitoring blocks use the Machine Base instead: the Power Monitor, Ender Monitor and Power Level.[6]
- The Dimensional Shard goes into the Blazing Infuser, Power Core (Medium) and Power Core (High).[6]
- Infused Diamond is used for the Blazing Generator and Dimensional Cell (Advanced), and Infused Enderpearl is used for the Endergenic.[6]
Vanilla items and shared tags
Some recipes also call for vanilla items. These include the Redstone Torch, Comparator, Hopper, Quartz and Prismarine Shard, for example in the Power Monitor, Pearl Injector and Dimensional Cell.[6]
Many other slots accept any item from a shared tag, such as blaze rods, redstone blocks, ender pearls, diamonds, emeralds, glass or chests. So you are not tied to one specific item for those slots.[6]
What the pack changed
Most RFTools Power crafting recipes are changed by the pack, so don't rely on what you remember from the mod's defaults. This covers the Blazing Generator, Endergenic, Pearl Injector, Powercell (Low), all three Dimensional Cell tiers, both monitors, Power Level, and the Medium and High Power Cores. Only the Coal Generator, Blazing Agitator and Blazing Infuser keep the mod's own recipes.[6]

Quests
In the basic power quest chapter, one quest accepts a generator from three different mods. You can hand in the Coal Generator, Coal Generator or Simple Coal Generator. Whichever you build, the quest is satisfied. The quest is a quest in "?".[3]
Another quest in the same chapter is completed by any of the three Powercell tiers: Powercell (Low), Powercell (Medium) or Powercell (High). It is a quest in "?".[3]
Which All the Mods 10 quests use RFTools Power?
2 parts
RFTools Power appears in one quest chapter in this pack, called basic_power. Two quests in that chapter involve the mod, and both have an item task.[3]
What the quests ask for
- a quest in "?" accepts any one of Powercell (Low), Powercell (Medium) or Powercell (High). Any of the three Powercell tiers fits the task, so the Low one is enough.[3]
- a quest in "?" accepts any one of three generators: Coal Generator, the Actually Additions coal generator, or a Just Dire Things generator. Because any of them counts, you don't have to use the RFTools Power version to complete it.[3]
Order
Each of the two quests comes after a different earlier quest. The sources here don't show one of them coming before the other, so treat them as two separate steps and unlock each one through its own prerequisite.[3]
What changed in RFTools Power between versions?
The version history for RFTools Power in this pack is short, so here is what the sources confirm and nothing more.[2][7]
- RFTools Power was first included in All the Mods 10 2.2 or earlier.[2]
- All the Mods 10 2.41 updated the mod from 1.21-7.0.1 to 1.21-7.0.3.[7]
- All the Mods 10 4.5 ships RFTools Power 1.21-7.0.3 (file rftoolspower-1.21-7.0.3.jar), the same version that 2.41 moved to.[2][7]
Unverified The mod's own changelog for the shipped jar is not available in the sources here, so what changed between 1.21-7.0.1 and 1.21-7.0.3 is unverified. The same goes for any other version bumps between All the Mods 10 2.2 and 4.5.
