What is Rechiseled?

2 parts

Rechiseled is all about making your builds look amazing. It lets you chisel blocks into decorative variants with connected textures, and it adds over 600 decorative variants of vanilla blocks for you to play with.[1]

Everything runs through one tool: the Chisel. Right-click it to open the chiseling screen, where you put in a block, preview all of its variants and swap between them. You can also left-click blocks that are already placed in the world to change them. Best of all, the chisel has no durability, so you can use it as many times as you want.[1]

Most variants also come as stairs and slabs, which you get through the chiseling screen, and the connected textures link up across the full block, stairs and slab of the same variant. Most blocks also have a version with and without connecting textures, and you can toggle between them in the chiseling screen.[1]

Who it's for

If you love building bases that look good and not just work well, this mod is for you. It is purely decorative, so you can pick it up whenever you want to spruce things up.[1]

Rechiseled in this pack

All the Mods 10 4.5 includes Rechiseled version 1.1.6+a, and the mod has been in the pack since version 2.25 or earlier.[2]

In the quest book, Rechiseled appears in the building tips chapter. The quest a quest in "?" asks you to get a Chisel, so crafting one is a nice early step into building.[3]

How do you get started with Rechiseled?

4 parts

Rechiseled is all about turning plain blocks into decorative variants with connected textures. It adds over 600 decorative variants of vanilla blocks, and nearly everything starts with a single tool, so your first step here is short and simple.[1]

Step 1: Craft the Chisel

The very first thing to make is the Chisel. It lets you swap blocks between their decorative variants, and it is the key to everything else in the mod. It uses the mod's own recipe in this pack, shown below.[1][4]

ChiselMod recipe

Tip: The chisel has no durability, so one chisel lasts forever. You never need to craft a spare.[1]

Crafting the chisel also completes a quest in "?" in the pack's building tips quest chapter. That quest only asks for the chisel, and it unlocks after an earlier quest in the same chapter.[3]

Step 2: Learn the Chiseling Screen

Right-click with the chisel to open the chiseling screen. Put a block in and you can preview all of its variants, then swap between them. The screen also gives you the stairs and slabs for most variants, and their connecting textures link up with the full block of the same variant.[1]

Tip: If your blocks are not connecting, you probably picked the non-connecting version. Most blocks come in a version with connecting textures and one without, and you can switch between them with the button in the bottom right of the chiseling screen.[1]

Step 3: Chisel Blocks in the World

You don't have to break your build to restyle it. Left-click a placed block with the chisel and it changes to a random variant. If you want control, store a block in the chisel first: it then works as a filter, and every block you left-click turns into that exact variant.[1]

A Pack Extra: Polished Basalt Borders

The pack adds one extra recipe for Rechiseled blocks. With Create's sandpaper polishing you can turn Basalt Bordered Connecting into Basalt Bordered Polished Connecting. This recipe is not part of Rechiseled itself, so don't expect to find it in other setups of the mod.[4]

Unverified Rechiseled has official addons, such as Rechiseled: Create with a Mechanical Chisel for automation and Rechiseled: Applied Energistics 2 with a Chiseling Pattern Encoder. It is not confirmed whether either addon is included in this pack.

How does Rechiseled work?

6 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10 5.4 guide

Rechiseled is a decoration mod, not a tech mod. It has no power, fluids or multiblocks. Everything revolves around one tool, the Chisel, which swaps blocks between their decorative variants. The mod adds over 600 decorative variants of vanilla blocks, so knowing how the chisel works is really all you need.[1]

Getting your chisel

The chisel is crafted at a normal crafting table. In All the Mods 10 5.4 it still uses the mod's own shaped recipe, so the pack hasn't changed it. Good news: the chisel has no durability, so one chisel lasts you forever.[1][5]

The chiseling screen

Right-click with the chisel in your hand to open the chiseling screen. Put a block in and you get a preview of every variant it can become. You can then swap it into any of those variants, including their stairs and slabs.[1]

Most blocks come in two versions, one with connecting textures and one without. The toggle button in the bottom right of the chiseling screen switches between them. If your blocks aren't connecting when you place them, check this button first.[1]

Chiseling blocks in the world

You don't have to break blocks to restyle them. Left-click a placed block with the chisel and it changes to a random variant.[1]

If a block is stored in the chisel, it works as a filter. Every block you left-click turns into that exact variant. This is the fastest way to restyle a whole wall or floor so it all matches.[1]

Tip: Want a consistent look? Pick your variant in the chiseling screen and leave it stored in the chisel. Then left-click your way across the build instead of placing everything again.[1]

Stairs, slabs and connecting textures

Most of Rechiseled's decorative variants also have stairs and slabs, and you get them through the chiseling screen too. The connecting textures link up across the full block, stairs and slab of the same variant, so mixed shapes still look like one surface.[1]

Pack addition: Create sandpaper polishing

All the Mods 10 5.4 adds a recipe that the base mod doesn't have. Using Create's sandpaper polishing, you can turn Basalt Bordered Connecting into Basalt Bordered Polished Connecting.[5]

Automation

Rechiseled itself has no automation. Automated chiseling comes from official addons. Rechiseled: Create adds a Mechanical Chisel that chisels blocks using Create contraptions. Rechiseled: Applied Energistics 2 adds a Chiseling Pattern Encoder for autocrafting Rechiseled recipes with AE2 storage systems.[1]

Unverified The provided sources don't confirm whether the Rechiseled: Create or Rechiseled: Applied Energistics 2 addons are included in All the Mods 10 5.4. Check your mod list before planning an automated chiseling setup.

How do you progress through Rechiseled?

3 parts

Rechiseled doesn't have a long tier ladder in this pack. Everything starts with one tool, the Chisel, and the pack's quests treat it as a building helper rather than a progression gate.[3][4]

Getting your chisel

Your first and only real step is crafting the Chisel. It's a normal shaped crafting recipe that uses the mod's own recipe, so you can make it right at the start of your world.[4]

The in-pack chisel recipe

The quest

The pack includes Rechiseled in its building tips chapter. Quest a quest in "?" asks you to get a Chisel, and it unlocks after an earlier quest in that same chapter. That's the whole questline for this mod here, so once you've got the chisel in hand you've completed its quest path.[3]

A pack-added extra: polishing

The pack adds a Create sandpaper polishing recipe that ties Rechiseled into your Create setup. It turns Basalt Bordered Connecting into Basalt Bordered Polished Connecting, so if you're already running Create, you get another route to that polished connecting basalt block.[4]

Sandpaper Polishing (create)

Recipe id: create_dragons_plus:sandpaper_polishing/rechiseled/basalt_bordered_connecting

Added by the pack, not part of Rechiseled itself

Tip: Since the chisel is your gateway to every Rechiseled block, craft it early and keep it handy while you build. The quest for it sits in the building tips chapter, not on a main progression line.[3][4]

Unverified The sources don't confirm any further tiers, upgraded chisels or other gated Rechiseled items in this pack, or which blocks the chisel can convert between. Check in-game with your recipe viewer for the full list of chiseling options. This site does hold All the Mods 10's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.

How does Rechiseled work with other mods?

2 parts

In this pack, Rechiseled's main link to another mod runs through Create. The Rechiseled: Create addon is part of the pack, and its standout item is the Mechanical Chisel, which combines a Create part with the Rechiseled Chisel.[1][4]

Mechanical Chisel (Create)

The Mechanical Chisel lets you chisel blocks automatically with Create contraptions. You don't have to swap every block by hand in the chiseling screen, so you can feed blocks through a Create setup and have them converted for you. This is great when you need stacks of one decorative variant for a big build.[1][4]

The pack uses a shapeless crafting recipe for it, built from an Andesite Casing and a Rechiseled Chisel. You'll need a bit of early Create progress before you can make one.[4]

Crafting Shapeless

The addon's project description also says it adds more than 100 decorative variants for blocks from Create, so you can chisel into Create-themed styles as well as vanilla ones.[1]

Quests

Rechiseled appears in the pack's building_tips quest chapter. Quest a quest in "?" asks you to get a Chisel, and it unlocks after an earlier quest in that chapter. Since the chisel is also part of the Mechanical Chisel recipe, completing this quest puts you one step closer to automated chiseling with Create.[3][4]

Tip: The chisel has no durability, so you can keep chiseling by hand for as long as you like before you invest in the Create automation route.[1]

Unverified Rechiseled also has official addons for Applied Energistics 2 (a Chiseling Pattern Encoder for autocrafting Rechiseled recipes) and for Cobblemon. The sources for this section don't confirm that either addon is included in this pack, so check in-game before you count on them.

Which All the Mods 10 quests use Rechiseled?

1 part

This mod shows up in just one quest in the pack, in the building_tips chapter. It's a quick stop rather than a full questline, so don't expect a long chain of chiseling tasks.[3]

Building tips chapter

The quest a quest in "?" has one simple task: get a Chisel. Once you have one, you've completed the only quest in the pack that involves this mod.[3]

This quest isn't open right away. It comes after another quest in the building_tips chapter, so you need to finish that one first before this quest unlocks.[3]

Unverified Which quest comes right before this one, and whether this quest gives any rewards, can't be confirmed here.

What changed in Rechiseled between versions?

1 part

All the Mods 10 4.5 ships Rechiseled 1.1.6+a (the file is rechiseled-1.1.6a-neoforge-mc1.21.jar). The mod has been in the pack since All the Mods 10 0.42 or earlier, so it has been here a long while.[2]

Mod changelog

  • 1.1.6a: Fixed missing mining tags for chiseled blocks. This is the version the pack uses.[2][6]
  • 1.1.6: Initial release of Rechiseled for Minecraft 1.20.5 and 1.20.6.[6]

Unverified The pack changelogs I was given have no entries for this mod, so I can't say what changed for Rechiseled between individual All the Mods 10 releases.
