What is Nature's Aura?
2 parts
Nature's Aura is a mod about collecting, using and replenishing the Aura that is already present in the world, then turning it into useful devices and unique mechanics. The pack includes version 41.3, and the mod needs Patchouli for its guide book.[1][2]
Aura isn't stored in floating nodes. It is present everywhere in the world, and different dimensions have different types of it. Drain an area completely and you get diminishing returns, so use it with care.[3]
What you'll be doing
- Collect Aura with the Natural Altar and use it to create new materials such as Infused Iron.[1]
- Put Aura to work with the Extraneous Firestarter. It powers a furnace without fuel, but the natural Aura levels can drop into the negatives while it works.[1][4]
- Replenish what you've used. Ancient Trees slowly raise Aura levels back to normal, and the Herbivorous Absorber turns small flowers into Aura, though it only works in the overworld and wants different kinds of flowers.[5][6]
- Watch the balance. Too much Aura causes positive effects like Vegetational Increase, while too little causes Natural Decay.[1][7]
The Book of Natural Aura guides you through all of this. More chapters unlock as you complete advancements, and orange icons point to your next research step.[8]
Where it sits in the quest book
In this pack's quest book, Nature's Aura shows up in the basic_tools chapter. Several quests there involve its tools, and they all unlock after the same earlier quest in that chapter.[9]
Some of them accept a Nature's Aura tool or an alternative item from another mod: Botanist's Blade for a quest in "?", Botanist's Pickaxe for a quest in "?", Skyseeker's Pickaxe for a quest in "?" and Skyseeker's Blade for a quest in "?".[9]
The rest only accept Nature's Aura items: Soulstrider's Blade for a quest in "?" and Soulstrider's Pickaxe for a quest in "?".[9]
How do you get started with Nature's Aura?
5 parts
Nature's Aura is all about collecting, using and replenishing the Aura that's already in the world. Your first steps are simple: get the guide book, learn to see Aura, make Infused Iron, then turn it into your first tools.[1]
Make the Book of Natural Aura
Start with the Book of Natural Aura. You make it by combining a few items in any shape, and after that every other recipe in the mod shows up inside the book. It also unlocks new chapters as you finish advancements: a red icon marks a new chapter, and an orange icon points to your next research step. The front page links straight to the advancement menu.[1][8]
Unverified The exact items for the Book of Natural Aura aren't confirmed in the sources I have for this pack. Check the recipe in your recipe viewer. This site does hold All the Mods 10's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
Build an Environmental Eye
The Environmental Eye lets you see the Aura in the area. It's worth making early, because Aura is present everywhere in the world and the Eye shows you what you're working with. Different dimensions also hold different types of Aura, so some mechanics can behave unexpectedly.[3][10]
Ritual of the Forest and the Natural Altar
The Ritual of the Forest is how you create magical items with the power of nature. Its advancements ask you to make a Wooden Stand for it and a Natural Altar with it. The Natural Altar collects Aura from the environment to make new materials like Infused Iron, which you'll need for the next step.[1][10]
Ancient Wood and your first tools
The tools here use the Ancient Wood Rod as a handle. In this pack it comes from a short chain: logs to planks, planks to slabs, then slabs to rods.[11]

Once you have rods and Infused Iron, craft the Botanist's Pickaxe and Botanist's Blade. The in-game advancement asks for exactly this pair.[10][11]

The quest book has these tools too. In the basic tools chapter, a quest in "?" and a quest in "?" accept either the Nature's Aura tool or a Roots Classic tool.[9]
Look after your Aura
Don't drain an area completely. Doing so gives diminishing returns, and the Aura Imbalance chapter in the book covers the effects of draining or adding too much. The Aura Detector gives a redstone signal based on the Aura around it when you attach a Comparator, so you can monitor an area without standing in it.[3][7][12]

How does Nature's Aura work?
5 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
Aura works differently from most mod energy systems, so it's worth understanding before you build anything. It isn't stored in floating nodes. It is present everywhere in the world, and the dimension you're in changes which kind of Aura you get. Adding or removing it affects an area around the spot where the change happened, and the size of that area depends on the apparatus you used.[13]
If you drain an area and then add a generating device, the new device renews the drained area first and only then fills its own surroundings. A draining device placed near a rich area behaves the same way in reverse. Aura also drifts around to balance itself out, so give a setup some time before you judge it. There's one more behavior to watch: Aura fizzling. Once Aura has spread far enough from where it started, it slowly fizzles out. Closer to the origin it isn't affected.[13]
Reading Aura levels
The Environmental Eye shows you what's going on while you hold it in your hotbar. One bar shows how full an Aura-bearing block is. Another bar at the top left shows the Aura around you, and half full means the default level. When Aura goes past either end of the bar, the Eye can't tell you by how much.[14]
The Environmental Ocular is the upgrade. Its gauge is twice as large, and it shows active Aura Imbalance effects as icons next to the bar. A crossed-out icon means the effect needs Effect Powder that isn't present, or that it's currently being inhibited by its powder. It also works from anywhere in your inventory, not just the hotbar.[15]
For monitoring from a distance, the Aura Detector outputs a redstone signal based on the nearby Aura, as long as you attach a Comparator to it. Its range is similar to the Eye's. The pack changes this recipe, so use the one below rather than any default you remember.[16][17]

This recipe is changed by the pack.
Creating Aura and its limit
Most creation devices can't push Aura past the range of the Environmental Eye by default. Once an area gets close to that point, some devices shut off completely and others keep running without creating anything. When that happens you'll see red sparks coming from them. You can also stop them manually with an Aura Detector or similar.[18]
The Creational Catalyst removes that limit. Place it directly below a creational device and the device can generate far beyond the normal cap, at no extra cost. Keep fizzling in mind, though, because endless generation may be of little use. The Aura Detector is the suggested way to deal with that.[13][19]
- Ancient Trees slowly raise Aura back toward normal through their leaves, but the leaves die off as they give up their Aura. They only work in the overworld.[20]
- The Disentangler of Mortals frees the soul of a passive animal killed close to it as a big burst of Aura. Babies give less, and the longer an animal has lived, the significantly more it gives. The guide suggests waiting about one and a half hours. Those animals won't drop their usual loot, and giving it another death while it's still converting a soul wastes both the soul and the drops.[21]
- The Reaper of Ender Heights needs a chorus flower grown at most about two blocks away. Once the plant is tall enough, a redstone signal makes it harvest the whole plant. The higher and broader the plant, the more Aura you get.[22]
- The Rose of Oblivion grows after the Ender Dragon dies. Drop an Ender Eye next to it and it consumes the eye and releases a lot of Aura. You can't stop or harvest it mid-process, and it doesn't need a Creational Catalyst.[23]
- The Firecracker Gaze launches fireworks dropped around it and turns the explosion into Aura, depending on how complex the firework is. Fireworks dropped while it is already busy are consumed for nothing, so automate it with a timer.[24]
- The Herbivorous Absorber consumes small flowers nearby. Feeding it the same flower over and over stops it from getting Aura out of that flower, and it takes about six different kinds for maximum efficiency. It only works in the overworld.[25]
- The Canopy Diminisher stops oaks within about 10 blocks from growing big, and turns the extra energy of those saplings into Aura. That makes it a natural fit for an automatic tree farm. It also only works in the overworld.[26]
- The Swamp Homi strips moss from nearby mossy blocks and makes a bit of Aura for each block.[27]
- The Shooting Mark turns projectiles into Aura, and stronger projectiles give more. You have to hit its four sides in order, starting with the north face. Hits on a non-active side give nothing.[28]
- The Offshoot Observer turns the splitting of Slimes and Magma Cubes into Aura. Splits that happen while it is still dispersing Aura add nothing.[29]
- The Ritual of the Brewer converts a positive Lingering Potion thrown nearby into Aura. Only one effect converts at a time, so extra potions are wasted.[30]
Storing and moving Aura
The Aura Cache lets you carry Aura with you. Place it on a Natural Altar and wait for the Aura to drain into it. The Aura Trove is the higher tier, with three times the storage.[31][32]

To move Aura across the world, use the Aura Attraction Cart. Put it on a rail and run it over a powered Activator Rail so it hooks onto the Aura around it. It drops the Aura again at an unpowered Activator Rail. Some of the excess is lost on the way, so expect a cost.[33]
Automation tools
The Automatic Constructor crafts anything you can make in a Crafting Table. You build a structure with the constructor in the center. The arrow marks the top of the recipe, as if pointing at the top row of a crafting grid. Drop the ingredients onto the Ancient Logs in the normal layout, and after a couple of seconds the result drops out of the bottom.[34]

The Redstone Aura Vaporizer is a timer built around Bottled Aura. A bottle of sunlight lasts a second, ghosts a minute and darkness an hour. The timer emits a short redstone pulse each time a vaporization finishes, and the Aura flows back into the bowl. The bottles and amounts you use set the interval, up to once every sixty-four hours. You can insert and extract bottles by hand or with automation, and a redstone signal resets the progress.[35]

- The Adept Hopper works like a Hopper but is a bit faster. Attach Item Frames holding items to any side and only those items pass, both for pulling and for insertion. Interacting with it inverts the filter, and with no frames at all everything passes. With an Environmental Eye equipped you can see the stored item count and the mode.[36]
- The Item Distributor takes items from containers on top and splits them equally across the containers on its sides. With an Environmental Eye equipped, sneak-interact to switch it to random mode.[37]
- The Item Grounder makes dropped items only pickable by sneaking players. Its range runs from 0 to 8 blocks, set by the redstone signal strength.[38]
- The Powder Manipulator places Effect Powder from an adjacent chest when it gets a redstone pulse. Another pulse collects the powder and returns it to a nearby chest.[39]
- The Corporeal Eye keeps animals inside its area without any blocks around it. The stronger the redstone signal, the bigger the area.[40]
Imbalance and Effect Powder
Too much or too little Aura causes Aura Imbalance effects. Some positive ones kick in at fixed fractions of the Eye's gauge. Increase of Fertility begins beyond about two thirds, with Powder of Fertility nearby. Vegetational Increase shows up around three quarters. Natural Storage starts when the bar is about half above the regular amount, and it fills Aura Caches carried by nearby players.[41][42][43]
Effect Powder either inhibits a passive positive effect or enables effects that need it. Place a stack on the ground and the effect range in blocks equals the stack size. Hit the powder to pick it up again. Draining Aura is the dangerous direction: Natural Decay kills grass and leaves, and extremely low levels can lead to Unstable Outbreak, with sporadic explosions on the surface.[44][45][46]
Unverified The sources here include no config files for this mod in the pack, so exact Aura amounts, device output rates and storage capacities are not shown. Only the relative behavior described above is confirmed.
How do you progress through Nature's Aura?
7 parts
In this pack, Nature's Aura gear comes in three metal families: Infused Iron, the Ingot of the Skies and the Ingot of the Depths. The pack's quest book checks each family through a sword or pickaxe. Here is what the quests ask for and where the recipes fit.[9][11]
What the quests ask for
The Nature's Aura quests all sit in the basic tools chapter, and each one unlocks after the same earlier quest. They are about getting a tool, with no aura machines involved. Some accept an item from another mod as an alternative.[9]
- a quest in "?" wants the Botanist's Blade or Living Sword.[9]
- a quest in "?" wants the Botanist's Pickaxe or Living Pickaxe.[9]
- a quest in "?" wants the Skyseeker's Blade or Magehunter.[9]
- a quest in "?" wants the Skyseeker's Pickaxe or Draco Arcanus Pickaxe.[9]
- a quest in "?" wants the Soulstrider's Blade. There is no alternative item.[9]
- a quest in "?" wants the Soulstrider's Pickaxe. There is no alternative item.[9]
Infused Iron
The Botanist's gear (sword, pickaxe, axe, shovel, hoe and armor) is made from Infused Iron Ingot. The same ingot also appears in recipes for early machines like the Aura Cache, Item Distributor, Adept Hopper and Herbivorous Absorber.[11]

Ingot of the Skies
The Ingot of the Skies is used for the Skyseeker tools and for a batch of machines. These include the Aura Trove, Automatic Constructor, Aura Field Creator, Altar of Birthing and Staff of Baldur. The Firecracker Gaze needs it too.[11]

Unverified The sources I have don't show how Infused Iron and the Ingot of the Skies are first obtained, so check the in-game guide for that.
Aura creation and the Creational Catalyst
By default, most aura-creating devices can't push the aura in an area past the range of the Environmental Eye. Once they get close to it, some switch off and others keep running without creating any more aura. The Creational Catalyst lifts that limit when it is placed directly below a creational device.[47][48]

End-game aura sources
Some aura sources only open up after the dragon fight. The Reaper of Ender Heights harvests chorus plants out on the End islands, and the taller and broader the plant, the more aura you get.[50]

How does Nature's Aura work with other mods?
2 parts
Nature's Aura connects to other mods in this pack in two places: Productive Bees recipes that hand out Nature's Aura materials, and a chapter of tool quests that treat Nature's Aura gear as interchangeable with gear from other magic mods.[9][11]
Productive Bees
Productive Bees has centrifuge recipes that give you Nature's Aura metals. One produces Infused Iron Ingot, another Ingot of the Skies, and a third Tainted Gold Ingot. Each one also gives you Wax as a second output.[11]

Unverified The recipe dump lists no item inputs for these three centrifuge recipes, so what you have to feed the centrifuge is not confirmed here. Check the recipe in game before you build around it.
There is also a recipe that uses Nature's Aura's offering mechanic to get a Productive Bees Spawn Egg Configurable Bee. Its recipe id points to a bee tied to the Ingot of the Skies. Here is the exact in-pack recipe.[11]

Tool quests
The basic_tools quest chapter lists Nature's Aura tools next to tools from other mods. In several quests either item completes the task, so you can pick whichever fits your playstyle.[9]
- Quest a quest in "?" accepts the living sword from Roots Classic or the Botanist's Blade.[9]
- Quest a quest in "?" accepts the living pickaxe from Roots Classic or the Botanist's Pickaxe.[9]
- Quest a quest in "?" accepts the Draco Arcanus pickaxe from Forbidden Arcanus or the Skyseeker's Pickaxe.[9]
- Quest a quest in "?" accepts the Skyseeker's Blade or the Magehunter from Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks.[9]
Two quests only involve Nature's Aura: a quest in "?" asks for the Soulstrider's Blade, and a quest in "?" asks for the Soulstrider's Pickaxe.[9]
Which All the Mods 10 quests use Nature's Aura?
2 parts
Nature's Aura shows up in one quest chapter in this pack: basic_tools. It is a small set of six quests, and each one asks you to get a tool or weapon. They all have no title in the quest book, so they are listed here by their quest ids.[9]
Order
All six quests unlock after the same earlier quest in the chapter. They don't depend on each other, so you can do them in any order once that one is done.[9]
What each quest asks for
- a quest in "?" asks for Botanist's Blade. The task also accepts rootsclassic:living_sword instead.[9]
- a quest in "?" asks for Botanist's Pickaxe. The task also accepts rootsclassic:living_pickaxe instead.[9]
- a quest in "?" asks for Skyseeker's Pickaxe. The task also accepts forbidden_arcanus:draco_arcanus_pickaxe instead.[9]
- a quest in "?" asks for Skyseeker's Blade. The task also accepts irons_spellbooks:magehunter instead.[9]
- a quest in "?" asks for Soulstrider's Blade. This is the only item the task accepts.[9]
- a quest in "?" asks for Soulstrider's Pickaxe. This is the only item the task accepts.[9]
Four of the six quests let you pick an item from another mod instead, so you don't have to go deep into Nature's Aura for them. The two Soulstrider quests only accept the Nature's Aura items.[9]
Unverified The quest data doesn't show rewards for these quests, and it doesn't show what the earlier quest in the chapter asks for. Check the in-game quest book for both.
What changed in Nature's Aura between versions?
1 part
All the Mods 10 1.15 ships Nature's Aura 41.3. The mod was already in the pack by All the Mods 10 1.1 or earlier, so it has been around for a long time.[2]
Mod changes up to the version in this pack
- 41.2: fixed various recipes that had missing tags.[51]
- 41.3: fixed the book of natural aura not being craftable.[52]
- 41.3: fixed an issue where EMI's JEI compatibility threw an exception for effect powders.[52]
Both of these releases are bug fixes. The sources don't list any new features or balance changes for these versions.[51][52]
Unverified No pack changelog entries for Nature's Aura were available, so any changes the pack itself made to this mod between releases are unverified.
