What is MEGA Cells?
1 part
This pack includes MEGA Cells version 4.3.0, and it has been part of the pack since version 2.13 or earlier. If you've been building up your storage network, this is a mod you'll run into.[1]
MEGA Cells shows up in the pack's quests inside the Applied Energistics 2 chapter. That tells you it fits alongside your ME system rather than being a standalone tech line. The quests ask for storage components like 1M MEGA Storage Component and 256M MEGA Storage Component, plus the MEGA Bulk Item Storage Cell.[2]
Quest progression
The storage components form a single quest chain. Each step unlocks after the one before it, so you climb the component tiers in order:[2]
- Make a 1M MEGA Storage Component for a quest in "?", which opens up after two earlier quests in the chapter.[2]
- Move on to a 4M MEGA Storage Component for a quest in "?".[2]
- Then craft a 16M MEGA Storage Component for a quest in "?".[2]
- Next is a 64M MEGA Storage Component for a quest in "?".[2]
- Finish the chain with a 256M MEGA Storage Component for a quest in "?".[2]
Separately, a quest in "?" in the same chapter asks for a MEGA Bulk Item Storage Cell. It unlocks after its own prerequisite quest, not through the component chain.[2]
MEGA Cells also appears outside the Applied Energistics 2 chapter. a quest in "?" in another quest chapter asks for a 256M Portable Item Cell.[3]
Unverified The provided sources don't describe how MEGA Cells' storage cells behave, how much they hold, or which players the mod is aimed at. There is also no guidebook or mod page available to confirm these details. Check the items in-game for specifics.
How do you get started with MEGA Cells?
5 parts
MEGA Cells gives your ME system bigger storage tiers, and in this pack its early goals sit in the Applied Energistics 2 quest chapter. The questline takes you through the storage components one tier at a time, from 1M MEGA Storage Component up to 256M MEGA Storage Component, so following those quests in order is the easiest way to start.[2]
Step 1: Your first MEGA component
Your first target is the 1M MEGA Storage Component, which is the task for a quest in "?". This quest unlocks once you've finished the earlier quests it depends on in that chapter. Every tier above it builds on this one, so it's the item that opens up the rest of the mod.[2][4]

Step 2: Housings turn components into cells
A component on its own doesn't store anything yet. MEGA Cells has housings for each storage type, including the MEGA Item Cell Housing, the MEGA Fluid Cell Housing and the MEGA Chemical Cell Housing. You combine a housing with a component to get a finished cell. The item housing is the one most players want first.[4]

Step 3: Climb the component tiers
Each component recipe uses the tier below it, and the quests follow that same chain. Work through them in this order:[2][4]
- Craft the 4M MEGA Storage Component for a quest in "?".[2]
- Craft the 16M MEGA Storage Component for a quest in "?".[2]
- Craft the 64M MEGA Storage Component for a quest in "?".[2]
- Craft the 256M MEGA Storage Component for a quest in "?".[2]

The bulk item cell
The Applied Energistics 2 chapter also has a quest for the MEGA Bulk Item Storage Cell, a quest in "?". Its recipe has been changed by the pack, so don't rely on a recipe you remember from other packs. Check the in-pack version below.[2][4]

Changed by the pack
Unverified How the bulk item cell behaves in storage, and the exact capacity of each MEGA tier, can't be confirmed from the available sources.
A longer-term goal
The mod comes up again later in the pack's questline. A quest in a later chapter, a quest in "?", asks for the 256M Portable Item Cell. That's a good reason to keep pushing your components all the way to the top tier.[3]

How does MEGA Cells work?
6 parts
MEGA Cells is all about taking your ME storage way past the normal tiers. The system is modular: you build a storage component for the size you want, pair it with a housing for the type of thing you want to store, and that combination is how the cells in this pack come together.[4]
Storage component tiers
The components form a straight upgrade ladder. You start from an 256k ME Storage Component to make the 1M MEGA Storage Component, then each tier is built from the one below it: 1M into 4M MEGA Storage Component, 4M into 16M MEGA Storage Component, 16M into 64M MEGA Storage Component, and 64M into 256M MEGA Storage Component. Every one of those recipes also uses an Accumulation Processor, so it pays to have a steady supply of them before you climb the ladder.[4]

Cell housings
Housings decide what a cell stores. There's a MEGA Item Cell Housing, a MEGA Fluid Cell Housing and a MEGA Chemical Cell Housing, and each one is tied to its own sky alloy: sky steel for items, sky bronze for fluids and sky osmium for chemicals. Check the recipes below for exactly what goes into each one.[4]

Chemical storage
Chemicals get their own line of cells, the 1M, 4M, 16M, 64M and 256M MEGA Chemical Storage Cells. There's also a MEGA Radioactive Chemical Storage Cell, and a Filter chemical unsupported! warning suggests that some chemicals can't be used as a filter.[5]
Unverified The sources don't explain what makes the Radioactive Chemical Storage Cell different from the regular chemical cells, or which chemicals trigger the filter warning.
Portable cells
If you want MEGA-sized storage you can carry around, the portable cells are shapeless recipes that pair a storage component with the matching housing. In this pack you can make the 1M Portable Chemical Cell, 4M Portable Chemical Cell, 16M Portable Chemical Cell, 64M Portable Chemical Cell and 256M Portable Chemical Cell, as well as the 1M Portable Fluid Cell and 16M Portable Fluid Cell.[4]
Crafting Shapeless
Recipe id: megacells:cells/portable/portable_chemical_cell_1m
Every portable cell follows this same pattern, with a different component or housing.
Unverified The recipe dump shown here was cut short, so it's unconfirmed whether other portable fluid tiers or portable item cells exist in this pack.
Sky alloys in this pack
This pack adds its own way to get sky steel: a crafting recipe that turns Sky Steel Essence into a Sky Steel Ingot. That recipe comes from the pack itself, not from MEGA Cells, so if you run Mystical Agriculture farms you can grow your sky steel instead of making it the regular way.[4]
Crafting Shaped
Recipe id: kubejs:mysticalagriculture/sky_steel_essence_crafting
Added by the pack.
If you've squashed your Sky Steel Block, Sky Bronze Block or Sky Osmium Block down with compression, there are decompression recipes that turn each 1x compressed block back into the normal block.[4]
Other features in the mod
- One of the mod's tooltips says a block provides 4 co-processing threads per block, which points to a crafting accelerator-style block for your autocrafting.[5]
- There's a Bulk Compression Cutoff setting, which shows up in the mod's interface text.[5]
- Something in the mod only supports processing patterns, according to its tooltip.[5]
- An optional resource pack brings back the old red-purple colours for both AE2 and MEGA cell tiers, if you prefer the classic look.[5]
Unverified The sources don't name the block that gives the co-processing threads or the block that only accepts processing patterns. They also don't explain how bulk compression works, how much each cell tier holds, or how these pieces tie into your ME network's power.
How do you progress through MEGA Cells?
4 parts
MEGA Cells picks up where regular AE2 storage stops, and this pack gives you a clear ladder to climb. The quests walk you through five storage component tiers in order: 1M, 4M, 16M, 64M and finally 256M. Every tier after the first has its own quest that unlocks once you finish the one before it.[2][4]
The component quest chain
The MEGA quests sit in the pack's Applied Energistics 2 chapter. The first one, a quest in "?", asks for a 1M MEGA Storage Component and unlocks after two earlier quests in that chapter. From there it's a straight line through the bigger components.[2]
- a quest in "?": craft a 1M MEGA Storage Component.[2]
- a quest in "?": craft a 4M MEGA Storage Component.[2]
- a quest in "?": craft a 16M MEGA Storage Component.[2]
- a quest in "?": craft a 64M MEGA Storage Component.[2]
- a quest in "?": craft a 256M MEGA Storage Component.[2]
The components chain into each other. The 1M component starts from a regular AE2 storage component, and each larger tier is crafted from the one directly below it. You can't skip ahead to 256M, so plan on building every tier along the way. Every tier also needs an Accumulation Processor, so it's worth automating those early.[4]

Turning components into cells
A component on its own doesn't store anything. You need to put it in a cell. For fluid and chemical storage you have two routes. You can craft the full cell in one shaped recipe, or you can make a housing first and combine it with any component shapelessly. The housing route is handy because one housing type works with every tier from 1M to 256M.[4]

The Bulk Item Cell
The MEGA Bulk Item Storage Cell has its own quest, a quest in "?", in the same AE2 chapter. Heads up: this pack changed its recipe from the mod's default, so check the in-game recipe below instead of an older guide or video.[2][4]

Portable cells
Every MEGA tier also comes in portable versions for items, fluids, chemicals and Source. They're shapeless crafts that combine an ME Chest, a Dense Energy Cell, the matching component and a housing. The pack has a quest in another chapter, a quest in "?", that asks for the top-tier 256M Portable Item Cell. That means you'll need the whole component ladder done before you can finish it.[3][4]

Unverified The exact storage capacity and byte or type limits of each MEGA cell tier aren't shown in the pack files used for this guide, so check the tooltip in-game.
How does MEGA Cells work with other mods?
4 parts
MEGA Cells is an add-on for Applied Energistics 2, so almost every recipe it has leans on AE2 materials. In this pack, though, its items also connect to a few other mods through extra crafting routes, compression, and some big endgame recipes. Here's where those connections are.[4]
Sky metal ingots: several ways to make them
The sky metals are what the MEGA cell housings are built from, with Sky Steel Ingot behind the MEGA Item Cell Housing, Sky Bronze Ingot behind the MEGA Fluid Cell Housing and Sky Osmium Ingot behind the MEGA Chemical Cell Housing. For the ingots themselves you get a choice of machine: an Advanced AE reaction or an ExtendedAE Crystal Assembler, so use whichever you already have running.[4]

The pack also adds its own Crystal Assembler recipes for Sky Bronze and Sky Osmium. The Sky Osmium one takes the Osmium Ingot specifically.[4]

The sky metal blocks also work with All the Compressed. You can compress Sky Steel Block, Sky Bronze Block and Sky Osmium Block into their compressed versions, such as Sky Steel Block 1x, and decompress them back again.[4]

Accumulation Processors
Every MEGA storage component needs an Accumulation Processor. The pack adds its own AE2 Inscriber recipe for the Printed Accumulation Circuit, so keep the pack's Universal Press handy, then turn that print into the finished processor in the ExtendedAE Crystal Assembler.[4]

Endgame crafting
MEGA Cells shows up in the pack's late-game recipes too. The Improbable Probability Device uses a 256M Portable Item Cell alongside parts from a whole bunch of other mods. The quest a quest in "?" in the star chapter also asks you for that same portable cell.[3][4]
Crafting Shaped
Recipe id: allthemods:allthetweaks/improbable_probability_device
The pack also adds a Powah energizing recipe for the AE2 Creative Energy Cell. That's a great reason to keep a Superdense Energy Cell around once you're heading toward the ATM Star.[4]

Quests
In the Applied Energistics 2 quest chapter, MEGA Cells has its own quest line. It starts at a quest in "?" for the 1M MEGA Storage Component and moves up through a quest in "?", a quest in "?" and a quest in "?" to a quest in "?" for the 256M MEGA Storage Component. A separate quest, a quest in "?", covers the MEGA Bulk Item Storage Cell.[2]
Which All the Mods 10 quests use MEGA Cells?
2 parts
MEGA Cells shows up in two quest chapters in this pack. Most of its quests sit in the Applied Energistics 2 chapter as a neat progression through the bigger storage components, and one more appears in the chapter_2_the_star chapter. All of these quests are untitled in the quest book, so look for the item icons.[2][3]
Applied Energistics 2 chapter
The main MEGA Cells content is a chain of component quests. Each one asks you to obtain the next tier of storage component and unlocks only after you finish the previous one, so you work through them in this order:[2]
- a quest in "?" asks for a 1M MEGA Storage Component. It opens up once you have completed two earlier quests in the chapter.[2]
- a quest in "?" asks for a 4M MEGA Storage Component and follows a quest in "?".[2]
- a quest in "?" asks for a 16M MEGA Storage Component and follows a quest in "?".[2]
- a quest in "?" asks for a 64M MEGA Storage Component and follows a quest in "?".[2]
- a quest in "?" asks for a 256M MEGA Storage Component and follows a quest in "?". This is the end of the component chain.[2]
The same chapter has a separate quest, a quest in "?", that asks for a MEGA Bulk Item Storage Cell. It isn't part of the component chain. It unlocks after a different quest in the chapter, so you can do it alongside the components.[2]
chapter_2_the_star chapter
MEGA Cells appears once more in the chapter_2_the_star chapter. There, a quest in "?" asks you for a 256M Portable Item Cell. It unlocks after another quest in that chapter.[3]
What changed in MEGA Cells between versions?
All the Mods 10 2.23 ships MEGA Cells version 4.3.0, so that's the version this guide covers. MEGA Cells has been part of the pack since at least All the Mods 10 2.13, so it has been around for many releases.[1]
Unverified No pack changelog entries or mod changelogs were available for MEGA Cells, so this guide can't list which version shipped in earlier pack releases or what changed along the way.
