What is Create: Hypertubes?

3 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide

Create: Hypertubes is an addon for Create, inspired by the Hypertubes in Satisfactory. It lets you build tube systems that move players and other entities around your world. You can design winding, curvy tubes or long, straight runs to feed a logistics network.[1]

This pack ships version 0.6.0 of the mod. The mod's own page says it is in active development, so features may change and bugs are expected.[1][2]

Who it is for

If you already run Create machines and want a fun, fast way to get around, this is for you. The mod is designed to fit into your existing Create progression. To get a network running, power a Hypertube Entrance with a cogwheel, then jump in and get thrown across the world.[1]

What you can do with it

  • Use a wrench on the Hypertube Entrance to pick its mode. In Automatic Lock Mode you can sneak to avoid being pulled into the tube.[1]
  • Send fish and villagers through the tubes by turning on Automatic Lock Mode. This has worked since version 0.2.0.[1]
  • Use a wrench to customize tube connections.[1]
  • Use attachments to automate tube behavior or detect travellers.[1]
  • Enable a first-person view (FPV) for travelling in the config files.[1]

Where it fits in the pack

The mod has been in the pack since All the Mods 10 4.3 or earlier, so it is a long-standing part of the modlist.[2]

Unverified The sources don't show any quests that involve this mod, and it is not on the ATM Star path. The pack does not appear to gate it behind specific progression steps, but that is unconfirmed.

How do you get started with Create: Hypertubes?

4 parts

Create: Hypertubes is an addon for Create, inspired by the hypertubes in Satisfactory. You build tube networks that fling players and other entities across your world, whether that's a twisty, fun ride full of curves or a long, straight line for getting around fast.[1]

Getting started only takes two crafted items: the entrance you jump into and the tubes that carry you. The mod is built to slot into your existing Create progression, so if you've already been playing with Create, you're most of the way there.[1][3]

Step 1: Craft a Hypertube Entrance

The Hypertube Entrance Block is the heart of your network. It's where you hop in to get thrown down the tube. Make this first, because your network won't do anything without it. This recipe is the mod's own recipe and hasn't been changed by the pack.[1][3]

Step 2: Craft your tubes

Next, make a stack of Hypertube Block. These are the tubes you'll travel through. Heads up: the pack has changed this recipe, so check the version below rather than one you might remember from another pack or a video.[1][3]

Step 3: Power it up and ride

Once your tubes are connected to the entrance, power the Hypertube Entrance Block with a Cogwheel and you're ready to go. Then just jump in and enjoy the ride.[1]

Unverified The sources don't explain exactly how tube pieces connect or how to build curves, so experiment in a test area before planning a big route.

Step 4: Tweak it with a wrench

  • Use a wrench on the entrance to switch between its modes.[1]
  • In Automatic Lock Mode, you can sneak to avoid being pulled into the tube.[1]
  • Since version 0.2.0, fish and villagers can travel through the tubes too. Just turn on Automatic Lock Mode and watch them go.[1]
  • You can also use a wrench on the tubes to change how tube connections look.[1]
Tip: Want to see the trip from the inside? A first-person view while traveling can be turned on in the mod's config files.[1]
Watch out: This mod is still in active development, so features may change and bugs are expected. Try your network out before you rely on it for important trips.[1]

How does Create: Hypertubes work?

7 parts

Create: Hypertubes is an addon for Create inspired by the hypertubes in Satisfactory. You build networks of tubes that move players and other entities around your world, either as twisty, fun rides full of curves or as long, straight lines for getting places quickly.[1]

The mod is still in active development, and its author warns that features may change and bugs are expected, so treat the details below as a snapshot rather than a final spec.[1]

The two building blocks

In this pack the mod has two craftable pieces: the Hypertube Block, which forms the tube itself, and the Hypertube Entrance Block, which is where you jump in.[3]

The Hypertube Entrance is built from Create parts, including a Cogwheel and a Smart Chute, so it fits right into the Create progression you're already working through.[3]

Powering a network

Getting a network running is refreshingly simple: power the Hypertube Entrance with a cogwheel and it's ready to go. The entrance is the part that takes rotational power, so plan your shafts and cogwheels around wherever your entrances sit.[1]

Unverified How much rotational speed or stress an entrance needs, and whether faster rotation makes travel faster, isn't documented in the available sources.

Traveling

To ride, you jump into a powered Hypertube Entrance and get thrown along the tube to wherever it leads. The tubes are made to carry both players and other entities, not just you.[1]

Unverified The mod's project page says first-person view while traveling can be turned on in the config files, but no config files for this mod are available from the pack, so the exact option can't be confirmed here.

Entrance modes

Use a wrench on a Hypertube Entrance to switch it between modes. One of these is Automatic Lock Mode, which pulls things in on its own.[1]

Tip: If an entrance is set to Automatic Lock Mode and you don't want to get sucked in, sneak while you walk past it.[1]

Moving mobs

Since version 0.2.0 of the mod, fish and villagers can travel through the tubes too. Switch the entrance to Automatic Lock Mode and they'll be carried through the network, which opens up some fun options for moving villagers to a trading hall without the usual boat-and-rail hassle.[1]

Unverified The project page's feature checklist marks other mobs as able to use tubes as well, but it doesn't say which ones or how they behave, so test with your own mobs before relying on it.

Customizing tube connections

You can change how tube connections look by using a wrench on them. The author describes this as the first step toward fuller visual customization.[1]

Automation with attachments

The mod supports automating tube behavior and detecting travelers through attachments, so you can have your network react when something passes through.[1]

Unverified The project page's checklist marks tube collision, a tube accelerator, a splitter or junction, a Hypertube Cannon and redstone automation as done. None of these appear in the pack's recipe dump for this mod, so it's unconfirmed whether they exist as separate blocks in this pack, how you'd get them, or how they work.

How do you progress through Create: Hypertubes?

2 parts

This one's refreshingly simple. In this pack, Create: Hypertubes has two crafting recipes, one for the Hypertube Block and one for the Hypertube Entrance Block. Both are regular shaped crafting recipes, so you can make them at a normal crafting table.[3]

Hypertube Block

Heads up: the pack changed the recipe for the Hypertube Block, so if you've crafted it in another pack, don't go by memory. Check the in-pack recipe below. It uses item tags, so any item that matches a tag will work.[3]

Hypertube Entrance Block

The Hypertube Entrance Block uses the mod's own recipe, unchanged by the pack. It needs a few parts from Create, so get some basic Create crafting going before you make one.[3]

How does Create: Hypertubes work with other mods?

Create: Hypertubes is an addon for Create, and it is built so its components fit into your existing Create progression. In this pack, the main crossover with other mods is the recipe for the Hypertube Entrance Block, the block you jump into to get launched through your tube network.[1][3]

Crafting Shaped

Uses Create components plus a vanilla item

The entrance is a shaped crafting recipe that combines parts from Create with a vanilla Minecraft item, so you'll build your first entrance from your existing Create setup.[3]

Create also powers the entrance once it's placed. Hook the Hypertube Entrance Block up to a Cogwheel to feed it rotational power, and it's ready to go.[1]

What changed in Create: Hypertubes between versions?

Create: Hypertubes joined All the Mods 10 in pack version 4.3, arriving as mod version 0.2.2.[4]

In pack version 4.5, the mod was updated from 0.2.2 to 0.2.4.[5]

All the Mods 10 4.5 ships version 0.2.4 of the NeoForge build, so that's the version this guide covers.[6]

Unverified The specific changes, fixes or new features between 0.2.2 and 0.2.4 couldn't be confirmed, because the mod's own changelogs weren't available.
