What is Create: Hypertubes?

3 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide

Create: Hypertubes is an addon for Create, inspired by the Hypertubes in Satisfactory. It lets you build tube systems that move players and other entities around your world. You can design winding, curvy tubes or long, straight runs to feed a logistics network.[1]

This pack ships version 0.6.0 of the mod. The mod's own page says it is in active development, so features may change and bugs are expected.[1][2]

Who it is for

If you already run Create machines and want a fun, fast way to get around, this is for you. The mod is designed to fit into your existing Create progression. To get a network running, power a Hypertube Entrance with a cogwheel, then jump in and get thrown across the world.[1]

What you can do with it

  • Use a wrench on the Hypertube Entrance to pick its mode. In Automatic Lock Mode you can sneak to avoid being pulled into the tube.[1]
  • Send fish and villagers through the tubes by turning on Automatic Lock Mode. This has worked since version 0.2.0.[1]
  • Use a wrench to customize tube connections.[1]
  • Use attachments to automate tube behavior or detect travellers.[1]
  • Enable a first-person view (FPV) for travelling in the config files.[1]

Where it fits in the pack

The mod has been in the pack since All the Mods 10 4.3 or earlier, so it is a long-standing part of the modlist.[2]

Unverified The sources don't show any quests that involve this mod, and it is not on the ATM Star path. The pack does not appear to gate it behind specific progression steps, but that is unconfirmed.

How do you get started with Create: Hypertubes?

5 parts

Create: Hypertubes is an addon for Create inspired by the hypertubes in Satisfactory. You build tube networks that fling players and entities across your world, either with lots of fun curves or as long, efficient straight runs. Getting a network running only takes a couple of blocks, so here's the order to make them in.[1]

Step 1: The Hypertube Entrance

Start with the Hypertube Entrance Block. It's the block you jump into to get thrown down the tube, so every network begins with one. It needs rotational power from a cogwheel to work, which fits right into the Create setup you probably already have running.[1]

Step 2: Hypertube Blocks

Next, craft a stack of Hypertube Block. These are the actual tubes you lay out from the entrance to wherever you want to go. Heads up: All the Mods 10 changed this recipe, so use the version shown below rather than one from a video or a different pack.[1][3]

Step 3: Power it up and ride

  1. Place your Hypertube Entrance and connect it to a cogwheel carrying rotational power.[1]
  2. Build your tube route out of Hypertube Blocks, adding curves or long straight sections as you like.[1]
  3. Jump into the entrance and you'll be thrown through the tube.[1]

Tweaking your entrance

Hit the Hypertube Entrance with a wrench to switch between its modes. In Automatic Lock Mode, sneak when you're near the entrance so you don't get pulled into the tube. You can also use a wrench on the tubes to customize how their connections look.[1]

Tip: Since version 0.2.0, fish and villagers can travel through the tubes too. Turn on Automatic Lock Mode and watch them go, which is great for moving villagers around your base.[1]

Step 4: The Hypertube Accelerator

Once your first line works, you can move on to the Hypertube Accelerator Block. There are two recipes for it in the pack: one using a regular cogwheel and one using a large cogwheel. Both give the same block, so pick whichever cogwheel you have spare.[3]

Unverified What exactly the Hypertube Accelerator does in-game (for example, how much it speeds up travel or how it has to be powered) isn't described in the available sources.

Watch out: The mod is in active development, so features may change and bugs are expected. Keep that in mind before building a huge network you depend on.[1]

How does Create: Hypertubes work?

7 parts

Create: Hypertubes is an addon for Create inspired by the hypertubes in Satisfactory. It lets you build tube networks that move players and entities around your world. You can go for twisty tubes full of curves just for the fun of the ride, or build long, straight runs to support your logistics network.[1]

Watch out: The mod author describes Hypertubes as being in active development: features may change and bugs are expected. If something behaves differently from what you read here, that may be why.[1]

Building and powering a network

The system is designed to fit into your normal Create progression. Every trip starts at a Hypertube Entrance Block, and you lay Hypertube Block pieces from there to wherever you want to go.[1][3]

Power is simple: connect a cogwheel to the Hypertube Entrance to give it rotational power, and the tube is ready to use.[1]

Watch out if you're following another pack's guide or an older video. All the Mods 10 changes the recipe for the Hypertube Block, so the default Hypertubes recipe won't work here. Use the in-pack recipe shown below.[3]

Riding the tubes

To travel, jump into a Hypertube Entrance and the tube launches you through the network. The mod also has a first-person view option for the ride, which you can turn on in its config files.[1]

Unverified This pack doesn't ship a config file for Hypertubes, so the exact name of the first-person view option and its default setting in All the Mods 10 5.1 are unconfirmed.

Entrance modes

Use a wrench on a Hypertube Entrance to switch between its modes. One of them is Automatic Lock Mode. In that mode, you can sneak near the entrance so it doesn't pull you into the tube.[1]

Unverified The full list of entrance modes, and exactly how each one behaves, isn't documented in the available sources.

Moving mobs

Tubes aren't only for players. From mod version 0.2.0, fish and villagers can travel through them: turn on Automatic Lock Mode on the entrance and they'll get pulled in and sent along. The mod page also lists support for other mobs as a finished feature.[1]

Unverified The sources don't confirm which Hypertubes version is in All the Mods 10 5.1, or exactly which mobs can use the tubes in this pack.

Customization and automation

You can change how tube connections look by using a wrench on them. The author calls this a first step toward more visual customization. Colored tubes and further customization are still listed as planned features.[1]

For automation, the mod uses Attachments. These let you automate how a tube behaves and detect travellers passing through it. The mod page also lists redstone automation as a finished feature, so you can make your tubes react to the rest of your base.[1]

Unverified The available sources don't name the individual Attachments, explain how they're placed or crafted, or describe what signals they give off.

Hypertube Accelerator

The mod page lists a Tube Accelerator as a finished feature. In this pack, it's the Hypertube Accelerator Block, and you can craft it with either of the two recipes below.[1][3]

Unverified The sources don't explain what the Hypertube Accelerator does in practice, such as how much it speeds up travellers, how it's powered or where it goes in a tube line.

Other listed features

Unverified The mod page marks tube collision, a tube splitter/junction and a Hypertube Cannon as finished. None of these appear as separate items in the pack's recipe data, and no source explains how they work, so whether and how they're available in All the Mods 10 5.1 is unconfirmed.

How do you progress through Create: Hypertubes?

3 parts

Create: Hypertubes has a short crafting ladder in All the Mods 10 5.1. There are three blocks to work through: the basic Hypertube Block, then the Hypertube Entrance Block, and finally the Hypertube Accelerator Block. Each tier builds on the one before it, so it helps to know the order before you start gathering materials.[3]

Unverified No quests covering this mod were available to check, so this progression follows the in-pack recipes rather than a quest line.

Tier 1: Hypertube Block

The Hypertube Block is the tube itself and the first thing you'll craft. Heads up: All the Mods 10 changed this recipe, so if you've played the mod elsewhere, don't rely on memory. Check the recipe below, which is the version actually used in this pack.[3]

Tier 2: Hypertube Entrance Block

Next up is the Hypertube Entrance Block. It uses the mod's standard recipe, which the pack hasn't changed. Make sure you have a spare or two, because the entrance isn't only a block you place: it's also a crafting component for the next tier.[3]

Tier 3: Hypertube Accelerator Block

The top tier is the Hypertube Accelerator Block. Every accelerator uses up one Hypertube Entrance Block, so you need to reach Tier 2 before you can craft one. The accelerator has two shaped recipes, both from the mod itself and unchanged by the pack. One uses a large cogwheel and the other uses a regular cogwheel, so you can pick whichever you have on hand.[3]

Tip: Planning to build accelerators? Craft extra entrances along the way. Each accelerator consumes one, so crafting them in a batch saves you trips back to the crafting table.[3]

How does Create: Hypertubes work with other mods?

2 parts

Create: Hypertubes is an addon for Create, so its main connection in this pack is with Create itself. Its components are meant to slot into your existing Create progression, and every crafting recipe that links it to another mod in this pack uses Create parts.[1][3]

Crafting with Create components

The Hypertube Entrance Block is your starting point for any tube network. Its recipe uses Create components and one vanilla item, so you'll want some Create production running before you build your first tube. This pack uses the mod's own recipe here, not a modified one.[3]

Running on Create power

Hypertubes also plugs straight into Create's kinetic system. To get your network going, you power a Hypertube Entrance with a cogwheel, and then you can jump in.[1]

You use a wrench to change a Hypertube Entrance's mode and to customize how tube connections look. In Automatic Lock Mode, you can sneak to avoid being pulled into the tube.[1]

Unverified This pack has no quests involving Create: Hypertubes, and the in-pack recipes don't show any links to mods other than Create. Integrations with other mods in the pack, such as with their mobs or transport systems, could not be confirmed.

What changed in Create: Hypertubes between versions?

1 part

Create: Hypertubes has been part of All the Mods 10 for a good while. In pack version 5.1 you're running version 0.2.6-hotfix of the mod.[4]

Timeline in the pack

  • All the Mods 10 4.3: Create Hypertube was added to the pack at version 0.2.2.[5]
  • All the Mods 10 4.5: updated from 0.2.2 to 0.2.4.[6]
  • All the Mods 10 4.6: updated from 0.2.4 to 0.2.5.[7]
  • All the Mods 10 4.13: updated from 0.2.5 to 0.2.6-hotfix.[8]
  • All the Mods 10 5.1: still ships 0.2.6-hotfix.[4]

The mod has had no version change in the pack since 4.13. If your hypertubes worked in a late 4.x release, they're running the same version of the mod in 5.1.[4][8]

Unverified The pack changelogs only list version numbers. We don't have the mod's own changelogs for these versions, so what each update fixed or added (including what the hotfix addressed) is unverified.
